    Episode 241

    ‘The Ravens of Ishtar.’

House Ishtar another Transcendent House like the Drakers.

They were a closed group of murderers who specialized in using unique poisons and secret magic.

As promised Jamilla the head of Ishtar’s household sent the ravens Ishtar’s assassins to Zeke after two years.

There was one thing that differentiated Ishtar’s assassins from other assassins including Salmak.

    They don’t make ambushes.

They focus solely on eliminating their family’s targets regardless of whether it is daylight or public place.

Only Ishtar could openly send assassins into the heart of Atlas which could be considered the domain of the Draker family.

‘He was fighting since he sent the dagger to Gajuhan…’

It wasn’t for nothing that the Ishtar family sent tea and daggers.

It was a warning of sorts.

Four ravens each carrying a unique dagger unique to Ishtar slowly approached Sieg.

Even though he was wearing a mask he was wearing the Ishtar family’s unique attire that resembled the clothing of the Eastern Empire so anyone could tell that he was an assassin of Ishtar.

Zeke said as he looked at the crows.

    “I think there’s a misunderstanding. Let me talk for a moment…”

Before he could finish speaking crows swarmed from all directions.

    WHEEK!

Even for Zikro who had fought against Yellin before it was a strange movement he had never seen before.

It felt like a mix of the movements of the dark elves I had seen in the Upside Down Tower and the movements of the Eastern Empire martial artists.

One of the crows leaped into the air twisted his body and performed a powerful slash.

    bang!

As Zeke spread his palm to block the slash another crow swung his dagger at his leg from below.

Zig dodged the dagger with a welcome gesture then stepped on the ground and unleashed a powerful resonance attack.

    thud!

A powerful wave pushed away the crows surrounding Zigg.

As the invisible force passed through their bodies the crows stepped back and took their stances again.

Unlike the knights of the Central Continent the Ishtar family trains their bodies by practicing their family’s unique secret arts rather than auras.

Perhaps that’s why it seemed like he wasn’t particularly affected by the strong resonance that Zeke unleashed.

‘Is it because of my elven blood? Perhaps the Ishtar family can manipulate mana like me.’

The crows were just about to take up their positions again and pounce on Zeke.

    Phew!

Behind Zeke someone leapt into the air and charged at the crows.

    Phew!

A full-body rotational maneuver was performed toward the crows.

    Boom!

The place where the crows were was completely reduced to ashes with one blow of the magic spell.

As a cloud of dust rose from the garden floor obscuring his vision a mysterious figure approached Zeke.

Then he thrust a note at him.

<You must avoid it. The crows will continue to chase you.>

Zeke realized who the mysterious figure was.

    “Are you Yellin?”

Yellin nodded her face covered by a chador and her head covered with a hood.

It seemed like the silent meditation wasn’t over yet.

As the dust cloud cleared Yellin gestured urgently to Zeke.

But before they knew it the crows were approaching Zeke and Yellin again.

One of the crows spoke to Yellin.

“Your Majesty if you continue to disobey your orders we will have no choice but to deal with you according to the law.”

At those words Yellin took out his dagger and took a stance.

She too showed her will never to back down.

At the sight of Yellin like that the crows also took up their daggers again.

Yellin nodded to Zeke as if to tell him to dodge while he blocked her.

‘Hmm things have gotten a bit complicated.’

I had thought that Ishtar might send real ravens but I never expected that Yellin would come to stop them.

    But then it happened.

[The compass will guide you in the best direction.]

A message appeared before Zeke’s eyes.

‘Why has the compass been doing this since a while ago?’

After watching the confrontation between Yellin and the crows for a moment Zeke took out his compass and checked the direction.

Surprisingly the compass needle was pointing to none other than Yellin.

‘Is the path to the Fairy Lake related to Yellin?’

I don’t know the principle by which the direction is determined but since it is indicated by the legendary item the Absolute Compass I needed to find out first.

At that moment Zeke found Paynen watching the situation with his knights around the lab garden.

Gelion quickly entered the lab and told Paynun.

Zeke sent a telepathic message to Payne.

-Mr. Paynen. I’ll clean up this place so please stay out of the way and let the people in the garden pass.

Payne nodded in surprise at Zeke’s telepathy.

Zeke who confirmed it stepped forward towards Yellin.

He spoke to the crows in the Eastern language.

“Is it because of my marriage with Lady Yelin that the famous ravens of Ishtar have come to see me?”

The crows were silent at Zeke’s words.

If Yellin hadn’t come there would have been no need to hesitate or even open my mouth in the first place.

He spoke to the ravens again.

“I was planning to personally tell the lord about my marriage with Yellin. I just postponed it for the moment because something important had come up in the family.”

Zeke said looking at Yellin next to him.

“Marriage is said to be a matter of human relations. It is the most important of all matters so how can we pass it over lightly? Since we have delayed in order to handle matters carefully please put away your sword.”

Even the crows of the world flinched and fell into thought at Zig’s words that were like flowing water from a mountain.

At that moment the leader of the crows spoke to Zeke.

“It’s disgusting that that shameless Draker is discussing human affairs.”

The captain shouted at Sieg flashing the sharp Ishtar dagger.

“You have insulted the House of Ishtar so I will cut off your head and send it to Arthur Draker!”

    WHEEK!

As the captain moved the other Ishtar sorcerers who had seemed to hesitate for a moment also rushed to Zigg.

    Choaack!

Daggers rushed from all sides to stab Zeke.

But Zeke’s new form blurred and disappeared leaving behind an afterimage.

Suddenly Zeke and Yellin appeared behind me.

    Zeke spoke telepathically to Yellin.

-Is there no way to stop the crows?

When his voice rang in her head Yellin was momentarily taken aback but soon shook her head.

Unlike the Draker family the stubborn and closed Ishtar family was not open to compromise.

‘I can’t help it. I guess I’ll just have to knock it down first.’

Zig took out Annexy’s dagger from his bosom thinking that he would have to respond according to the weapon they were using. He took Annexy’s dagger and took a stance.

Since all the techniques Zeke had learned were integrated into the Infinite Sword he could use whatever weapon he had learned.

He assumed the posture of infinite chain and raised his dagger.

At that moment Yellin’s eyes widened when he saw the dagger Zeke was holding.

She was fumbling around trying to convey something with her hand gestures.

Zik nodded interpreting it to mean that there was nothing good to come from going head-on with Ishtar’s ravens.

    -Don’t worry Yellin.

With those words telepathically transmitted Zeke leapt forward towards the crows.

    Whoosh!

Zig’s new model has already dug into the crowd of crows.

He swung a dagger imbued with gold power.

    Jiiing!

The crow blocked Zeke’s attack but was unable to fully absorb the powerful impact.

A bone-shattering shock penetrated my body.

    “Cough!”

One of the crows was knocked out by Zig’s attack that shook the inside.

The other confused crows formed up again and rushed towards Zeke.

Zeke slashed the back of the crow that was aiming for his lower body with the handle of his dagger.

    Phew!

In that one room a crow that had undergone extreme training lost consciousness and fainted.

Zeke didn’t stop there he walked up to another man and swung his dagger.

    Crunch-

Annex’s dagger cut through Ishtar’s dagger held by the raven.

While the crow whose dagger had been cut off was confused Zeke held the aura in his empty hand and fired.

    Boom!

The crow that had been hit by the lightning fell over and fell to the ground.

Zeke turned and approached the last remaining leader of the crows.

“Do you plan on adding more?”

Then the leader of the crows pointed his dagger at Zeke and said:

“We are just beginning. We will never stop until we eliminate Ishtar’s dark target.”

There was an eerie madness in the captain’s voice.

Zeke also knew very well how tenacious the Ishtar family was.

In that moment a life-giving spirit rose up from Zeke’s body.

‘Do I really have to kill them all?’

I tried to avoid a direct confrontation with Ishtar as much as possible but if he had come out like this there was no need for Zeke to just avoid it.

The most terrifying of Ishtar’s magic was none other than poison.

However since Zeke had a constitution that made him impervious to poison he didn’t have to worry about poison.

Besides since they had been promoted to the rank of Black Knight the non-poisonous Ishtar mystics were not that scary but rather a cause for concern.

The leader of the crows gulped perhaps noticing Zeke’s change of heart.

A different sense of oppression than before was weighing on him.

‘We were wrong. This isn’t just a young Drake. This is a monster among monsters.’

But even so he could not retreat as Ishtar’s raven.

He had to carry out his mission even if it meant giving up his own life.

In that moment the captain’s eyes began to turn yellow.

    Kugugugugugu―

A different energy than before rose from the captain’s body.

Zeke also sensed the change taking place in the captain.

‘Suddenly the mana around me starts to shake. Could that be some kind of fighting technique?’

Zeke aimed his dagger at Annexy with a questioning look.

Once you’ve made up your mind it’s more efficient to handle it quickly.

    That was when.

    “Stop the Donggwijin right now!”

A voice I had never heard before echoed throughout the garden.

Zeke of course and the leader of the crows also flinched and stopped moving.

The identity of the voice was none other than Yellin.

She broke her silence and spoke up.

The captain looked at Yellin and said.

“Your Majesty how could you break your years of silent practice…?”

“The sign of the black river has appeared.”

The captain turned towards her in confusion at Yellin’s words.

“What do you mean by that black river sign?”

Yellin pointed to the dagger of Annexy that Zeke was holding.

“That dagger that Sir Zeke is holding. That is the sign of the Black River.”

At Yellin’s words not only the captain but also Zeke was taken aback.

    ‘The Black River’s Mark?’

Zeke thought of Annexy who had left this dagger behind.

[Human. My name is Annex. I am the best warrior of the Black River Tribe. What is your name?]

The dagger that Zeke holds is one that was passed down only to the best warriors of the ancient dark elf Black River tribe.

‘What is the connection between the Black River Tribe and House Ishtar?’

Yellin shouted at the leader of the crows.

“What are you doing! The Black River’s sign has appeared! If you are a member of the Crow Tribe you should show respect but how can you point your sword at me!”

At Yellin’s words the leader of the crows hurriedly took off his mask and knelt on one knee toward Zeke.

The face of a female warrior with brown skin was revealed.

Zeke felt that her face resembled the dark elves he had seen in the Upside-down Tower.

The leader of the crows bowed down to Zeke and shouted.

“Himmel daughter of the Crow Tribe pays her respects to the Great Black River’s Mark!”

Zeke quickly rolled his head at the sudden actions of the leader of the crows.

‘The ravens were specifically descendants of the dark elves.’

The type of magic used by Yellin and the crows definitely felt different.

This was because while Yellin had practiced traditional martial arts based on the art of cutting the crows had practiced a passing technique centered on weapon techniques.

Yellin said as she approached Zeke.

“Sir Zeke Draker. I hereby offer my greetings to the holder of the Black River Token as Lord of Ishtar.”

    She opened her mouth slowly.

“Release the shackles of the oath that bind the House of Ishtar.”
