A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 221
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 221
Surprisingly the golem that was staring at Zeke from under the sea was not of a normal form but resembled an ancient fishman seen in books.
Kookookookook!
As Zeke was startled and slightly dazed the golem charged at Zeke with a trident.
Phew!
As the golem extended his trident the water swirled and wrapped around Zigg.
‘Ugh!’
It was not easy to move my body freely in the water.
He used his dragon body to transform his feet into the shape of a dragon.
Kkakakakak!
As he held on to the ground with his dragon’s claws the golem quickly charged towards Zigg with its trident.
Oh my god!
The golem swung its giant trident down at Zigg.
Boom!
Zig quickly turned his body around to avoid the trident after returning his feet to their original shape.
Zeke barely managed to regain his balance and face the golem.
That’s when Zeke realized one thing.
‘It’s easier to lose your balance if you make your body heavy.’
He spread out the field of gold power to make his body heavy.
Kookookookookook!
In an instant the pressure around Zeke’s body increased and a spray of water arose.
Zig who had maintained his balance with the power of gold assumed the posture of infinite chain.
Then he took a step forward and used the Gangpa Resonance.
Woohoo!
Mana’s vibrations were felt more clearly in the water.
Zig who had adapted to moving underwater through the Golden Force Field aimed his fist at the golem.

Then he took a step forward and launched an infinite chain attack towards the golem.
Infinite Chain
Forward movement
Stabbing the target
A powerful wave struck the golem’s body.
Kwakwakwakwa!
The golem pushed by the wave crashed into the wall. Zig flew towards the golem fighting through the current.
Kwakwakwang!
And then he poured out Infinite Chain to prevent the golem from rising.
Kwakwakwakwang!
The golem’s body gradually dug into the pile of stones due to the infinite chain of blows mixed with gold power.
Kurururur!
The golem buried in the rubble glowed with its eyes.
At the same time the runes embedded in his body began to glow.
Kookookookook!
The water began to get rough around the golem.
‘What is this?’
A huge whirlpool appeared where Zig was.
Kkwaddudduk!
Zeke tried to withstand the whirlpool by using his golden power but the power was too strong.
‘Eww!’
Eventually Zeke’s body unable to hold out any longer floated up.
The golem tried to manipulate the vortex to send Zigg out.
Zeke noticed this and took out Bahamut and felt the rough water current.
Wooooow!
A faint sword sound rang out from Bahamut.
Zeke decided to naturally accept the current that was catching his body.
Soon Zig who had been just being swayed by the current was able to feel the flow of the current comfortably.
‘Don’t try to deal with rough power with force but overcome it naturally.’
Zig who had the wisdom he had learned from the overturned tower in his sword grabbed the sword and swung it in the direction of the current.
Kookookookook!
The force of the whirlwind that had been raging wildly followed Zeke’s sword.
Rather than trying to cut through the whirlpool with his sword Zeke tried to go with the flow.
Woohoo!
In the midst of the violently swirling whirlpool Zig felt the more natural flow of the sword with his whole body.
The golem that created the whirlpool increased its output as Zeke adjusted the flow of water with his sword.
Kugugugugugu!

A stronger flow of water pressed down on Zig’s body.
‘Make the strong soft.’
Zig unleashed a hydraulic field feeling the flow of the vortex pressuring his body.
Wooooow!
The water began to move according to Zig’s will.
Instead Zig manipulated the whirlpool and sent the rough waters back towards the golem.
Kwakwakwakwa!
The golem’s body floated up unable to overcome the rough waters and losing control of the whirlpool.
Zig swung his sword at the golem along the current.
Elemental Sword
The hydraulic field
Spiral sword
A secret technique that Zeke had never used before was revealed.
A spiral wave shot out from his sword and struck the golem’s body.
Kkwaddudduk!
The waves wrapped around the golem’s body leaving behind a spiral trail.
The pile of stones where the golem had been collapsed revealing a hidden entrance.
Zig adjusted the force of the spiral to push the golem inside the entrance.
The whirlpool dragged the golem and Zeke together into the entrance.
* * *
“Whoa!”
Zig who had entered the entrance through the whirlpool was barely able to rise to the surface.
As he came out of the water and caught his breath a message appeared before Zeke’s eyes.
[I gained enlightenment about the Elemental Sword’s Water Field.]
[Elemental Sword proficiency increases.]
[Elemental Sword proficiency has become ‘Expert’.]
[The basic course of Elemental Sword is finished.]
[Elemental Sword transforms into a real-life weapon.]
[Obtain the title of Successor of the King of Heroes.]
“Basic course? What we’ve been doing so far is the basic course?”
Zeke checked the Special Skill category in the status window to see the contents of the message that he found hard to believe.
Special Skills: Elemental Sword [SS-rank (Beginner)] / True Dragon Sword [S-rank (Expert)] / Soul Sealing Technique [A-rank (Beginner)] / Holy Spirit Skill [S-rank (Beginner)] / Infinite Chain [S-rank (Expert)] / Holy Fire Skill [S-rank (Beginner)] / Giant Hunting Technique [A-rank (Expert)]
“SS-class? Does that mean you’ve grown to a level higher than S-class?”
Zeke raised his sword and tried to concentrate his elemental power.
Woohoo!
The speed at which the elemental power was concentrated was faster than before and the power contained in the sword itself was different.
Zig swung his sword lightly filling it with golden power.
Krrrr!
The cave shook in response to the power of gold even though it wasn’t directly touched.
Zeke opened his mouth wide when he saw the power of the SS-class skill.
“I think I understand a little why you were so surprised when I told you that Shatton and Tyr had mastered the Elemental Sword.”
I was embarrassed at myself for having thought of Elemental Sword as just a supplementary skill to True Dragon Sword.
There was also an additional title added to it: Successor of the Hero King.
‘Is this where the real meaning of the Elemental Sword begins?’
But there was one drawback.
“It’s changed to SS-class so mana consumption has increased.”
In the past mana that would have required great skill to be consumed was all consumed with just one swing of the sword.
I definitely felt like I had to be careful until I got used to it.
Zig took out the monster corpse he had stored in his inventory to move again and threw it into the shadows to replenish his consumed mana.
‘At this rate the message won’t even reach the liver.’
Thinking that he should feast on even the monsters wandering around the cave Zeke took out his sword and examined the golem that had come up with him.
“Let’s see. Can this also be considered a Guardian?”
Normally the system would recognize the relic site and the guardian would be able to register as a summoned creature simply by obtaining the authentication code.
However the island of the sea god was not recognized by the Kabbalah management system.
‘Isn’t this place a historic site yet?’
Zeke approached the golem which had the appearance of an ancient fishman.
Then they opened up the heart area and found the nucleus.
“Huh? Why doesn’t this one have a nuke?”
Unlike regular golems the golem with the appearance of an ancient fishman had no core.
That’s when the message came to mind.
[Do you want to binge eat this object?]
Zigg was embarrassed when he saw the message.
“Gluttony? Can a golem also gluttony?”
This message did not appear when I defeated other golems.
Zeke decided to binge eat anyway even though he thought something was strange.
Tsk tsk tsk―
The shadow enveloped the golem and began to absorb it.
At the same time a message came to mind.
[I drank a lot of magical drinks imbued with the power of the sea god.]
[The consumed stamina and mental power mana replenishes.]
[By absorbing the power of the gluttonous sorcery the proficiency of the active skills Magic Reflection (A-grade) and Area Buff (A-grade) increases.]
[By absorbing the power of the gluttonous sorcery the proficiency of the active skill Bloodshot Eyes (S-rank) increases.]
[By absorbing some of the power of the Sea God you have acquired the skill Underwater Breathing (C-rank).]
Zeke realized one thing after seeing the skill that had increased in proficiency due to Golem’s gluttony.
“The area buff and magic reflection are not magic powers but sorcery powers. For some reason no matter how much I use them my proficiency doesn’t increase.”
Seeing that it came with the sorcerer Blood Eyes I was convinced that these two skills were also related to sorcery.
Zig turned off the status window and looked around the space the golem had been guarding.
It felt different from the lava cave guarded by hunting dogs.
“This place… doesn’t seem like a naturally occurring space.”
Zeke approached and felt the cave wall.
The wall was very worn perhaps a sign of the passage of time.
Zeke tilted his head examining the wall.
“It’s not natural but it doesn’t seem like it was created by humans either.”
It felt completely different from the Dragon Slayer’s Rest or the Hero King’s Rest.
Rather it felt similar to the ruins of Death Valley where the Sky Tribe’s shelter and the ark were located that I had seen before.
“I guess… this place isn’t made by humans but by ancient fishmen.”
The ancient fishmen depicted in the legends of the Age of Heroes were described as a rather mysterious race.
They were as secretive as the Druids of the forest living quietly in their own civilization under the sea.
In the legend of the King of Heroes there is a story about Caesar saving ancient fishermen from the torment of a ferocious sea monster. No matter how strong the sea monster was it would not have been able to defeat Caesar.
Zeke recalled the contents of the chronicle left by Caesar.
‘I don’t think there was much talk about the fishermen… I heard that Master Caesar suffered from severe seasickness so he quickly finished them off and returned to Kronos in a huff.’
It was hard to believe that the Grand Master who was trembling with fear would suffer from seasickness but since Caesar himself was such an unusual being I just let it go.
Zeke put aside his thoughts about Caesar and looked around the space again thinking of the fishermen.
The fish race descendants of the ancient fish people also live in small numbers in various parts of the southern islands that have not been touched by humans.
Peter Pan gathered these fishmen together to form the Fishman Pirates and took the position of uniting the southern pirates.
Zeke thought that Peter Pan’s powers might be similar to the magic that the ancient fishmen had.
‘It seems different from the sorcery that deals with ghosts. I guess I’ll have to try it to find out.’
Zeke entered the space keeping a close eye on his surroundings.
The further you go in the more spacious the space becomes.
In many places the walls were worn and the reliefs were damaged.
‘Looking at the traces it seems like it was a temple of ancient fishermen. Who destroyed it like this?’
As he went inside to inspect the temple Zig confirmed that a new space had appeared at the end of the path.
“Here…..”
Traces of a temple that had long since disappeared remained intact in the space.
There was a circular space in the middle filled with seawater and to the side there was a broken garden shape.
Zik looked toward the circular space overflowing with sea water.
“Is it connected to the sea?”
Zeke looked around the spaces of the ruined temple.
That was when.
A ripple formed in the space filled with seawater.
Push!
The water surged up violently and fishermen holding harpoons emerged from it.
The fishermen cast their nets toward Jik.
Clang!
Zeke stepped back taking the welcome step.
Then other fishermen who had been hiding appeared and threw a hook with a rope tied to it towards Zig.
Zeke took out Bahamut and struck down the fishmen’s hooks.
Pachin!
The hook that bounced off Zeke’s sword returned to the fishermen.
The fishmen who emerged from the sea aimed their weapons at Jig.
‘Shining skin gills on the nape of the neck. What kind of pirate group are these?’
Zig looked at the fishermen and asked.
“Are you guys Peter Pan’s henchmen?”
The fishermen did not respond to Zeke’s words and instead rushed at him.
Clang!
Four nets spread out from all directions toward Zeke. Zeke drew Bahamut and unleashed his whirlwind.
Application of the dragon killing method
The wind chime
Squall hit
A gust of wind blew up and the nets that were about to fall on him were blown away by the wind. Then the other fishmen rushed at Zig again.
Crunch!
Zeke blocked the fishman’s attack by stabbing him with a harpoon.
However when Zeke came face to face with the person up close he felt something strange.
The eyes of the fishermen rushing toward him were bloodshot and saliva was foaming from their mouths.
Zeke knew what this was.
‘Isn’t this the stimulant the Empire was experimenting with?’
