    Episode 20

When you acquire the whirlwind skill a special skill category appears.

‘Special skill? Does that mean a secret?’

As Duke approached Zeke closed the message window.

“I can’t believe it even after seeing it.”

    The Duke was genuinely surprised.

It’s been over ten years since he retired from the Black Knights and went into seclusion at the Academy.

He had been staying to find a successor but now it was only nominal and in reality he had also given up halfway.

The whirlwind he created had too many limitations on the technology to be passed down to future generations.

It was a secret technique that Duke who had only average Auror talent had acquired by training his body to the limit in order to jump over walls.

However the talents who came to the academy focused on training their auror powers rather than their physical strength.

I tried testing with some talented people but they couldn’t keep up and were quickly eliminated.

Naturally he had almost given up on finding a successor but he happened to find a glimpse of the possibility of passing on the Whirlwind skill to Zeke.

Incredible resilience stamina and a will to never give up.

He was exactly the talent he was looking for.

‘Even a genius of the past? Oh I guess I’ve been blessed in my later years.’

Zeke opened his mouth as he saw Duke staring blankly at him.

    “What is it Master?”

    “….”

He was a good disciple but his character was a bit problematic.

Still Duke was satisfied that he could pass on the whirlwind.

    He chuckled.

“Hehehe. My dear disciple. Let’s do well together from now on.”

Zeke was shocked by the sudden display of affection.

And from that day on the hellish training really began.

The Duke was so happy to have found a true successor that he generously shared all his knowledge.

If it weren’t for Ziggy but other equipment the training intensity would have been such that they would have beaten him up and run away in one day.

“The use of auras is prohibited during the training period.”

It was actually a good thing for Zeke who had not been able to awaken in the first place.

Since raising the power of pure flesh was the basic course of the Whirlwind Zeke followed Duke’s training with healing factor and infinite stamina.

In fact Zeke had briefly served as a swordsmanship instructor in the North before his return.

Based on my experience at that time Duke’s teaching method was completely old-fashioned.

‘If it’s like this it’s total overwork. I can endure it. If it were someone else it would be the perfect training method to ruin their body.’

Since he was a Duke who became a black knight through his own efforts he had a strong tendency to push things forward as if he could do it.

Zeke took Duke’s sloppy strength training methods and modified them to fill in the gaps.

In this way Zig received personal training from Duke in the greenhouse training room all day long except for the special class common classes.

And around the time I was receiving intensive training from Duke for about a month rumors began to spread around the Academy.

The story was about Zeke receiving personal training from a high-ranking knight of the family.

Since Zeke had no intention of making friends at the academy he didn’t even know such a rumor was going around.

Besides I was so busy just having to endure Duke’s ignorantly tough training that I didn’t have time to pay attention to things like rumors.

Zig who started training in the Whirlwind and started eating a lot more was eating three times as much as everyone else in the cafeteria today.

At that moment someone came and sat down across from Zig.

Zig not caring who came just focused on eating.

    “Zeke Draker.”

Only when he approached and called his name did Zeke raise his head and look forward.

    ‘Andrey?’

A young man with a thin appearance who seems more like a wizard than a knight.

Andrei Draker spoke in a low voice.

“Can you give me a moment?”

Andrei had nothing to do after being exempted from basic swordsmanship classes.

He could sense the impatience hidden behind Andrei’s hard expression.

‘I see you found out I was the Duke’s disciple.’

Zick stood up from his seat holding the plate he was eating from.

    “Would you like some tea?”

Zeke went up to the Platinum Floor Lounge with Andrei.

As we took our seats in the sky lounge which had a view of the entire academy the servants quickly prepared and brought us tea.

Zig who enjoyed drinking tea in his previous life enjoyed the aroma of the highest quality tea that was not easily available outside.

Unlike Zeke’s leisurely appearance Andrei didn’t even touch the car.

    “How did you convince him?”

“Zeke said taking a sip of his tea.

    “What are you talking about?”

    Andrey’s eyebrows twitched.

“Are you going to pretend you don’t know?”

You could sense how desperate he was as Andrei a knight of the main family came to ask his junior Zeke separately.

Zik shook his head as he looked at Andrei like that.

“I never tried to persuade you Master.”

Andrei bit his lip at the word teacher.

“Are you saying that you didn’t persuade the Duke to become your disciple?”

“Yes. Rather I think it was I who was persuaded.”

    That wasn’t a wrong statement.

Even though he had fallen for Zeke’s scheme Duke had been hanging around Zeke because he thought he was the one who would learn the Whirlwind.

Andrei was speechless at the unexpected answer.

Although Andrei became a knight of his family with his outstanding talent he was able to realize his limitations in the Four Seasons Castle.

Among his peers no one could match him but the continent was vast and the Four Seasons was full of unbelievable monsters.

That’s why instead of taking on the knightly mission that would have raised his level Andrei volunteered for the unpopular mission of becoming an academy instructor.

This was because it was a secret rumor in the Four Seasons that the Duke who was a black knight was hiding in the Academy.

Duke Draker a commoner and ordinary Awakened who became a Black Knight was a legend in the Four Seasons.

Andrei believed that only by learning the true nature of Duke Draker could he overcome the wall of pure-blood awakening.

He pursued the Duke and constantly asked to be accepted as his disciple but was not granted permission.

But then out of nowhere I heard news that Duke had taken a freshman on as his disciple.

He looked at Zeke with a mixture of frustration jealousy and curiosity.

It just so happened that it was a pureblood Awakened person who had been getting on his nerves since the first day of basic swordsmanship class.

    He clenched his molars.

    Then Zeke opened his mouth.

“Instructor why do you want to learn the Master’s whirlwind technique?”

Andrei slowly opened his mouth his expression becoming even more hardened.

“It’s natural for a knight to want to become stronger. What’s wrong with that?”

At those words Zeke shook his head.

“No. What the instructor said is correct. But…..”

    Zik said looking at Andrei.

“I think the method is wrong.”

Andrei’s insides began to boil as he heard a scolding that wasn’t really a scolding from Zig who was much younger than him.

    ‘Anyway those pureblood awakened guys…’

He forced himself to suppress his anger and asked Zeke.

“What do you mean Cadet the method is wrong?”

“The whirlwind doesn’t suit you Instructor. If you want to become stronger you’d be better off learning other techniques.”

Andrei hearing Zik’s words jumped up from his seat.

“I can’t stand any more insults.”

Then Zeke looked at him intently and said.

“I never insulted you. If you felt that way it must be because of your pride in being a pureblood Awakened.”

Andrei’s face turned red at Zig’s stab that broke his bone.

Zeke was the first person to speak so openly about his complex.

    “Are you done talking Cadet?”

    “No. It’s not over yet.”

“Keep going. Let’s see how far you can go with your arrogance.”

“Tell the Master that it is enough for him to just stay by his side and not be his disciple.”

Andrei’s expression distorted at the completely unexpected words.

“Are you telling me to become a trainee knight now?”

“No. You’re being generous with your self-evaluation. I thought of myself as a seed.”

    He was seething with anger.

Andrei feeling that he had no need to hear any more gritted his teeth and left.

Then Zeke spoke to Andrei from behind.

“Does that kind of fucking pride really improve your abilities? Instead of being stubborn about clothes that don’t fit think about what you need more!”

At those words Andrei paused for a moment.

Then he turned his head and looked at Zeke.

He looked at Zeke without saying anything then quickly turned his head and went out of the lounge.

Zik shook his head as he watched Andrei leave the lounge without saying a word.

    “Aww I’ve done enough.”

In his previous life Andrei was taught by the Duke and was given the nickname of the Red-Eyed Knight.

It was advice given with a shred of conscience to Andrei whose future had changed because of him but it was useless if he couldn’t accept it.

Zik drank the rest of his tea and stood up.

And the next day when Zig went to the greenhouse for training he opened his mouth wide at the sight that unfolded before his eyes.

    “Hoo… hoo…..”

Andrey was running around the greenhouse training grounds sweating profusely.

Zeke looked at Duke with a bewildered expression.

    “What is it Master?”

The Duke said digging his ear with an annoyed expression.

“That bastard who was so enthusiastic asked me to stay by his side even if it meant just as a seed so I said I would accept him if he could run three hundred laps without any trouble.”

Telling the knights of House Draker not to use their Aurors was like telling them to hold their breath.

Andrei who was already physically weak was running with a pale face.

“How many laps are you doing now?”

“Two hundred and ninety-eight laps. Hey that guy is a total idiot.”

Andrei whose face had turned blue tried his best to somehow block the aura and finish the race with pure physical strength.

    “Gasp… gasp….”

With one lap left and his stamina completely depleted he staggered and practically crawled through the training grounds.

Looking at Andrei like that Zik realized that he had misjudged him.

‘I thought he was just a guy in a greenhouse but he has his own spirit.’

It was Andrei who crawled in front of the Duke after doing the last lap in a nearly half-dead state.

    He said panting.

    “Everything has turned around….”

The Duke clicked his tongue at the sight of Andrei like that.

“What are you talking about a knight of the main house? This thing is really running well. When I was young I would wake up in the morning and run around the central training ground of the four seasons without even putting on a mask!”

Andrei opened his mouth with a dying face.

“Hey promise. You have to keep it.”

At those words the Duke nodded with a displeased expression.

“Hey you annoying guy. I don’t know what’s going on but do whatever you want.”

Andrei lost consciousness and collapsed only after hearing those words.

Looking at Andrei like that the Duke clicked his tongue and shook his head.

“These days young knights are like that. In my time….”

“Okay. What are we going to learn today? We learned all the applied movements last time.”

“You cheeky disciple. The application of the whirlwind is endless because its variations are infinite. How can you be so cheeky when you’re just learning how to walk.”

Duke deliberately hit Zeke harder because he was so fast at learning.

The basic skills required for the whirlwind were taught in less than a week.

Duke embarrassed took out the applied movements but Zeke learned them all as soon as he taught them like a sponge absorbing water.

Duke was teaching as slowly as possible perhaps because he thought he would lose all his money in less than a month.

“So what are you doing today?”

Duke clicked his tongue at the sight of such a zeke.

“You bastard. Review what you learned today.”

    “Huh? Why the sudden review?”

“Something came up suddenly so I need to go somewhere for a bit.”

“Has the Master been in charge of any work here?”

When Duke tried to hit Zeke on the head with a sly remark Zeke quickly evaded it with a magic trick.

“That guy just keeps on showing off his tricks!”

Duke said with a displeased expression as he watched Zigg stepping on the sword while fluttering like a butterfly.

“That annoying guy is coming tomorrow. I’m tired.”

“Who is coming and calling you teacher?”

The Duke said roughly picking his ear.

“Who could it be? Arthur Draker the great head of the Draker family.”
