A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 192
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 192
Zeke was taken aback by Shadia’s words and asked back.
“what?”
“The Northern Duke killed all the lords who posed a threat and subjugated all their vassals.”
She spoke to Zeke in a slightly trembling voice.
“Boss the Northern Duke I saw was… a monster.”
Shadia was the first disciple of the Old Man of the Mountain and had been through all kinds of chaos as Salmak’s killer.
She was truly terrified at what she had seen up north.
Zik asked Shadiya.
“So what’s the situation in the North now?”
“…Everyone is holding their breath and waiting to see how the Northern Duke will react.”
Zeke put down the documents he was holding.
“The material you brought will no longer be of any use.”
Shadia nodded silently.
Zeke turned his head and looked out the window. Then he recalled a memory from his past life.
The Northern Duke is depicted wearing armor a thick wolf skin and wielding a greatsword.
It was as majestic as a legendary Valkyrie.
The Allies called her this way with awe the enemies this way with fear.
Iron Blood Sword
Zeke snickered as he looked at his face reflected in the window.
‘I was worried about the Iron Blood Sword. If she had heard that she would have rolled around laughing for three days and nights.’
Guardian of the North and King of the North.
In his previous life she was the goal and ideal that Zeke wanted to hold onto at all costs.
I felt ridiculous for worrying about the Northern Duke for even a moment.
Because Zeke knew better than anyone that she was not the type of person who needed anyone’s help.
Shadia asked Zeke.

“What should we do Boss? Do you want to know the situation in the North again?”
Then Zeke shook his head.
“No. There’s no need for that. I’ll give you another mission.”
“What is the mission?”
Zeke interrogated Dario and handed over the information about the Abyss’ stronghold to Shadi.
“This is information I’ve collected on coffee producing areas. Look for places where there are traces of old churches or suspicious cult movements.”
Shadia accepted the information and nodded.
“Okay boss.”
With the answer Shadia’s body disappeared.
The carriage carrying Zig continued forward as if nothing had happened.
* * *
After arriving at the mansion Zeke took a long rest and fell asleep.
Since two hours of sleep a day was enough for Zig he devoted the rest of his time to training.
Zeke usually fell asleep without dreaming but today he felt different than usual.
‘what?’
When Zik came to his senses he realized that he was in a familiar place.
A space covered with a bamboo forest.
It was none other than the Highlander realm of Mount Ouroboros where the hermit of the story resided.
‘I don’t know what’s going on.’
It was difficult for Zeke to tell whether this was a dream or reality.
He looked around cautiously and went up to the house where the hermit of the story was.
When he went up he saw a hermit lying on the bed waiting for Zig.
“Wow it finally connected.”
The hermit stretched and got up when he saw Zig come.
Zick looked at the hermit in the story and asked.
“Is this a dream?”
Then the hermit answered with an expression that seemed difficult to explain.
“It’s a dream to you but not to me. I used the dream to bring you into my realm.”
I don’t know exactly what that means but it didn’t seem like Zeke’s body itself had been transferred to this space.
The hermit in the story looked at Zig and made a loud noise.
“What on earth have you been doing? I kept trying to call you in my dreams but I couldn’t even get through.”
“I was a bit busy so I barely slept.”
“You didn’t sleep? Are you a human?”
The hermit in the story shook his head.
He clicked his tongue for a moment then unfolded his fan and spoke to Zeke.
“I heard you found the Holy Grail. I heard you were famous everywhere.”
“Am I the one talking?”

“Oh. There were quite a few guys at High Table who said they had heard of you? Oh Nigel said he knew you too.”
Zeke was taken aback when the story of his former teacher suddenly came up.
“…What can you say about me?”
“The Rock Tribe Chief asked me to catch a scorpion so I managed to find an agent and left the forest in his care but he said you had already caught it.”
“Ah. Hydra…..”
It was a story of this life not a story of a past life. Zig sighed in relief.
But the hermit’s words continued.
“He was gnashing his teeth because you stole his prey. Be careful if you ever go to the Forest of the Forgotten.”
“….”
Zeke felt that his master was no different from his previous life and vowed once more not to look at him.
Zeke said with an effort to remain calm.
“I found one of the relics. I need to find the other two.”
“I asked the High Table guys about that anyway. That’s why I contacted you.”
The hermit in the story waved his hand and took out a book.
“Hmm. Let’s see. Here it is.”
He said to Zeke as he turned the page of the book.
“I asked everyone but none of them really knew anything about the Holy Relics. They were all just wasting their age.”
He continued speaking turning the pages of the book.
“I found some somewhat credible information. Have you ever heard of Tyr’s Shield?”
“This is my first time hearing about it.”
“It’s such an old legend that I don’t know much about it. Anyway let me explain briefly. Tyr is the name of a warrior whose bravery was comparable to that of the heroic king Caesar before the creation of the ancient kingdom of Kronos.”
“A brave warrior…? Wait a minute. Isn’t that person the Knight of Valor Tius? One of the knights of the Clock Tower….”
“Tius? Oh if you change the pronunciation you can say it like that. But the original pronunciation is Tir.”
Zeke also learned a lot about the legendary knights of the clock tower while watching the Caesar Chronicles video.
Tius or Tyr mentioned by the hermit in the story was a rival of Caesar until the end in the legend.
Even Caesar who had no fear of anything in the world said that he fought with Tius for three days and nights and barely won.
After being defeated by Kaisir Tyr accepted defeat and joined his command as a knight gaining fame as one of the bravest knights.
Caesar himself said that if the knight Tius had not been present there would have been more sacrifices made when establishing the kingdom of Kronos.
He was also one of Caesar’s most trusted knights along with the noble knight Shatton.
The hermit of the story continued speaking.
“Anyway it looks to me like this Tyr’s shield is a holy relic.”
Zeke tilted his head at his words.
“In the legend it is said that Tius in order to prove his bravery charged into the enemy lines with only his sword without armor or shield. Did he have a shield?”
“So that’s how it’s written in the current edition. Wait a minute….”
As the hermit in the story waved his hand a large picture appeared on the three-dimensional screen.
In a painting that seemed to depict an ancient battle a man was charging into enemy territory carrying only a shield.
“Is this Tius?”
“In older versions it is written that Tyr charged into the enemy lines with only a shield not a sword.”
“You only have one shield?”
“Yes. These days swords are more popular than shields so I think it was passed down as a sword. Stories are often distorted by the person telling them.”
It was a plausible story.
Even the legend of the Dragon Slayer was passed down as completely false which led to the creation of the myth of the liberation war and the Dragon Slayer Terracan Draker.
Zeke looked closely at the shield in the video.
He remembered what Hoshigar had said just before he disappeared that one of the relics was a shield.
The second relic was most likely Tyr’s Shield.
Zeke asked the saint of the story.
“Is there a reason you thought Tyr’s shield was a holy relic?”
“There are quite a few different versions of the legend of Tyr but they all have something in common.”
“What do you mean by commonality?”
“Tir who holds the shield is not injured by the attacks of his enemies. Even if he is injured he recovers quickly.”
“Is that evidence that it is a holy relic?”
“Terracan Draker who had the Holy Relic also got up quickly and fought bravely even after being wounded by the enemy. Tir Dragon Slayer of Valor Terracan Draker. Don’t the two of them look similar?”
Terracan Draker gained the unique class of immortal through a contract with a dragon along with the power of the Holy Grail. It was the result of many coincidences and coincidences.
‘What if the Shield of Tyr is an artifact that grants the power of immortality to its bearer?’
Even if it wasn’t a holy relic its power was so terrifying that it could change the course of the battlefield.
If that shield fell into the hands of Naraku the Empire or Abel the chaos on the battlefield would likely grow uncontrollably.
‘First of all I think it would be a good idea to look for Tyr’s shield.’
Zig asked the hermit of the story.
“Where is that shield now?”
Then the hermit in the story slowly opened his mouth after thinking about it.
“Have you ever heard of Crete?”
“Crete? What is that?”
“Do you know the Minotaur?”
“Yes. It’s not a monster.”
“Crete was a kingdom that existed in the northern continent. There were so many Minotaurs living there that a warrior’s coming of age ceremony was celebrated by hunting Minotaurs.”
“This is the first time I’ve heard of such a kingdom. But why did you suddenly bring it up?”
“Tir is from this kingdom.”
The hermit of the story continued.
“Tyr was the illegitimate son of the king of Crete. He was abandoned in the forest as soon as he was born and raised by the forest druids. It is said that Tyr displayed great strength before he even reached adulthood. He was so powerful that he defeated the Minotaur with his bare hands at the age of fifteen.”
“Oh my goodness. In that era there was no concept of auras.”
“That’s right. There is also a version where Tir was blessed by the lake nymph and gained incredible powers.”
“If you’re the fairy of the lake…?”
“In context I guess you could call him the Fairy King.”
“Do you think the Elf King gave Tyr a shield imbued with his power?”
“That’s what I think. After all a holy relic is an artifact that the Elven King created with his power for humans. It is said that after the Hero King Kaisir left for the Elven Land Tyr also returned to his homeland. There is only one homeland for him.”
“It’s Cretan.”
“Yes. The Kingdom of Crete has now disappeared but its legacy continues to this day.”
“How do you say that?”
“You know very well the Turn family.”
Zeke was taken aback by the hermit’s words.
“Are you the Turun the bloodline of Draker?”
“Yes. The bloodline of the House of Thurn is the descendant of the Kingdom of Crete that is Tyr.”
Zeke was confused by the unexpected words.
‘Turn…’
Leaving such a joke aside the hermit continued his story.
“It is highly probable that the House of Thurn does not know that their bloodline is descended from the hero Tyr. So much of the related story has been lost. You only knew him by the name of Tius didn’t you?”
Zik nodded to the hermit’s words.
‘I have never heard of House Thurn wearing a shield. Perhaps there is a shield of Tyr lying around among the house.’
Zik said looking at the hermit.
“I will look for Tyr’s Shield while I investigate the House of Turn. But how can I relay the news to you Hermit?”
“It’s not a method that’s used much these days but… stand in front of a mirror put any storybook in your hand and call me.”
“Then does that get through to you?”
“No that’s just calling me.”
“Then how do I convey the message?”
“I’m calling you into my dreams again.”
“….”
I wanted to suggest a communication port but I doubted whether the magical power transmission would reach even this Highlander territory.
Eventually Zeke nodded his head in agreement. The hermit of the story decided to pass on information about other relics to Zeke as soon as he heard about them.
“I have to go back now.”
“Oh you’re going? Okay. Okay.”
The hermit got up from his seat picked up his fan and tapped Zig on the head.
“What are you doing now….”
Suddenly.
Zeke sat up in bed.
“Huh? It really was a dream.”
I looked around but this was definitely Atlas’s mansion. The events of just now were so vivid that I couldn’t tell the difference between reality and a dream.
Even though the story’s hermit may seem a bit loose it felt new to be a member of the High Table which has transcended the laws of this world.
Zik recalled the story he had heard from the hermit.
“The Turn family. I had always wanted to meet them at least once. That’s good.”
Zig rose from his seat with his eyes sparkling.
It was his turn to step forward again.
