A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 191
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 191
Zeke found Clone lying in front of the castle garden.
The drooping clone had a rather tired look on its face.
“Clone.”
Upon hearing Zeke’s voice Cloone barely managed to get up and wave to him.
Zeke approached her.
“It seems the mission was not easy.”
At those words Clone frowned.
“The monastery was full of fucking Paladins. If it weren’t for Boris and the new recruits it would’ve been close.”
“Have the Luverne clan been rescued safely?”
Clone nodded clenching his teeth at the same time.
“Holy Kingdom. If you knew how those bastards treated those kids you’d want to go and wring that Pope’s neck right now.”
Seeing Clone get excited it seemed like the treatment of the children locked up in the monastery was quite harsh.
“Where is Princess Arina?”
“Is that Zion? The family guy you said you caught? He went down to the basement to treat that guy.”
It seemed like Decker had relayed Zeke’s words to Arina.
After leaving Aslan who was making a fuss while looking around the castle in the care of his servants Zeke dragged Eiren down to the castle’s dungeon.
“Eeeeeeeee!”
Eiren who was unable to speak properly due to being bound by the soul sealing technique twisted his body here and there in protest.
Phage phage phage!
When his movements were impeded Zeke sent a bolt of electricity through the chain.
“Eeeeek!”
Aeron staggered and fell down from the shock of the lightning.
“Follow me quietly.”
Because Aron was brainwashed by Siemens and was no different from a fanatic he tried everything to escape from this situation. However he could not escape from Sieg’s hands.
Zeke left Aeron in one of the dungeons and went to where Zion was.

Woohoo!
In the room where Zion was a magical flash of light was seen.
Zeke entered the room quietly. Arina was casting light magic towards Zion.
“Phew.”
Arina who had been using magic for a long time stood up from her seat.
Only then did she notice Zeke standing behind her.
“Sir Zeke!”
“Miss Arina.”
Arina looked at Zeke and smiled as usual.
Zeke looked at her and said.
“Thank you for your hard work. From what I heard from Sister Clone it must have been quite a difficult mission.”
Arina nodded.
“We disguised ourselves well and infiltrated the monastery but we were caught by the pursuers while we were bringing the children. There were so many Paladins. Fortunately we were able to escape thanks to Felix’s efforts.”
“Felix you say?”
“Yes. The way he threw his body away to save the children was just like the holy knights in the old stories.”
Although Arina’s words felt sincere the image of the Holy Knight Felix did not appear in Zeke’s mind.
“Anyway I’m glad you returned safely. Where are the children?”
“We’ve hidden them in the safe house we’ve prepared for now. Once the movements from the Holy Kingdom have died down we plan to take them to Agamemnon Castle.”
“Very well. If it is Mycenae even the Sacred Kingdom will not be able to invade without permission.”
The resurrected House of Agamemnon was once again recognized as a bloodline of the Drakers and was also receiving strong support from the powerful families of the central region.
Because of this even the Holy Kingdom could not invade Mycenae without permission.
Even if they had braved such odds and entered the Black Sword Knights guarding the castle would not have left them alone.
Zeke looked at the sleeping Zion and asked Arina.
“How is that guy’s condition?”
Arina said with a regretful expression.
“I don’t know who or what kind of horrible experiment they did but that child’s body is slowly disintegrating.”
“I had persistent seizures so I tried healing to recover but it didn’t get better.”
“That’s right. Sir Zeke’s healing has tremendous power but it’s ultimately an ability that maximizes self-recovery. No matter how much healing is used on a child whose body has already begun to collapse it can only return to its current best state and cannot fundamentally heal the body that is collapsing.”
Zeke realized for the first time that there were some things that his healing could not fix.
That also meant that Zion’s physical condition was not normal.
Zik said as he looked at Arina.
“He is an important figure with direct connections to the upper echelons of the Nostra family. How could there be no way to save him?”
Ariana opened her mouth after pondering Zeke’s words.
“Among the magic of light there is a magic called ‘Recovery’.”
“What kind of magic is it?”
“It’s a magic that restores a damaged body or soul. With that power it might be possible to repair that child’s body.”
“Good. Let me try it right away.”

Then Arina shook her head.
“Unfortunately… I can’t use that magic. It’s in a different direction than the magic I usually use. But there’s one way.”
“What method do you mean?”
Arina said pointing at Zeke.
“Sir Zeke just use that magic.”
“Me? I’m not a wizard but….”
Arina nodded as if she understood what Zeke said.
“I will create an artifact that can use recovery magic. Then Sir Zik can use the artifact to use recovery magic. Although it is called magic he can use the healing that Sir Zik usually uses.”
Zeke was surprised by Arina’s words.
“Is that possible?”
“We should give it a try. If it doesn’t work out we’ll have to wait until Alice learns the Recovery Magic.”
“I think it would be best to make it as quickly as possible. What do you need to make the artifact?”
Then Arina smiled and said.
“The Orichalcum sword you had before. That sword should be able to engrave recovery magic.”
Zeke nodded and took out the jewel sword Roland.
Arina was astonished to see Roland adorned with jewels.
“This is completely… old Luverne style.”
“Luvern style?”
“Yes. The Luverne style is incredibly ornate and detailed. Some scholars say the ridiculous things about the Luverne style such as that it was so extravagant that it eventually led to the creation of an empire and was eventually overthrown. But the truth is different.”
“You mean you’ve been using the power of the jewels since then?”
“It’s not well known but you knew about it. That’s right. In addition to light magic there are records of Lubern developing and using ‘gem magic’ using gems. It’s a technique that’s out of use now though.”
Gem magic which uses magic to draw out the power of gems is a now lost art.
The jewel magic that was lost hundreds of years ago was contained in the jewel sword that Zig had strengthened.
But Zeke left it to Arina to carve Recovery into the sword without saying anything.
In addition the newly captured Aron was also asked to be questioned.
“Oh I don’t know how to conduct an interrogation.”
“…Yes? I saw you make Dario into a docile and gentle lamb.”
Arina clapped her hands at Zeke’s words.
“Aha is that okay? That’s easy.”
Although he was quite curious about Arina’s interrogation method he had something to do first so Zeke left it to her without asking any more questions and left the dungeon.
As he went upstairs Aslan who had washed and changed his clothes was waiting for him.
“Sir Zeke!”
Aslan who had become neater was still haggard but he had turned into a more dignified old knight than before.
Zeke asked Aslan.
“But Sir Aslan what did you eat and survive there for thirty years?”
“I barely managed to survive by eating moss growing on the walls and rainwater flowing in! But on the days when I found a field mouse coming in I was able to prey on it!”
For a knight he was a man with incredible survival skills. Zeke nodded and smiled in recognition.
After confirming that he was able to move without difficulty Zeke headed to Atlas’ Four Seasons Castle with Aslan to report that the cursed ghost mansion had been completed.
* * *
bang!
Howard Draker slammed his desk in his office.
Because of that the crystal ball on the desk fell to the floor.
“Does that make any sense!”
Support support support support
Noise leaked out from the crystal ball that had fallen to the floor and then the other person’s voice was barely transmitted again.
―“We also have no idea what the hell is going on. There is no signal coming from the dispatched personnel at all…”
“You idiots! So are you saying that they were all captured by the real mansion’s ghosts?”
―“I still don’t understand the details…”
puck!
Howard stepped on the crystal ball shattering it. He gritted his teeth and breathed heavily.
“What kind of guys did Abel send to get this kind of result? Damn it!”
That was when.
dripping.
A secretary came into Howard’s office.
He shouted at his secretary.
“I told you not to come in until I called!”
Howard was usually a nice person but when his plans went awry he started throwing tantrums.
The embarrassed secretary spoke cautiously to Howard.
“Sir Zeke Draker whom the Lord Chancellor spoke of has returned to the Four Seasons.”
“what?”
He approached his secretary and asked with a distorted face.
“Zeke Draker to the Four Seasons? What on earth is going on? Did he abandon his assigned mission?”
The secretary shook her head with a frightened expression.
“I heard that the mission was completed…”
“No way!”
Howard shoved his secretary hard and hurried out of the office and downstairs.
When I went to the central hall of the Four Seasons Palace there were already many people gathered and making a lot of noise.
The bulletin board in the central hall had a list of completed missions posted excluding special missions that required security.
People were looking at the bulletin board and talking.
“Wow you’re saying that you really did that ghost mansion?”
“They also rescued Lord Aslan Solma the Cross Sword who was trapped there.”
“This is no joke. Sir Zeke didn’t have any knights so he went alone didn’t he?”
Howard stood in front of the bulletin board mocking the people who admired him.
He clenched his teeth as he saw the post that said Zeke Draker had completed the assignment.
‘What the hell is going on?’
It was at that moment that I felt like the noise had somehow gotten louder.
“Congressman.”
Howard turned around at the sound of a voice calling his name.
There stood Zeke.
He looked at Howard and said
“Sir you’ve shaved your beard. I almost passed you by without noticing you.”
“Your Majesty Sir.”
Howard looked at Zeke as if he was seeing a ghost.
Zeke looked at Howard and smirked.
“Thanks to you I had an interesting experience. While I was exploring the mansion I noticed that there were quite a few vicious rats.”
Howard swallowed hard and said
“Haha. Is that so? You must have had a hard time.”
“Not really. Now I just have to figure out where the rats came from and that’s going to be more of a struggle.”
Zeke said with a sharp look in his eyes.
“We must eradicate the mouse holes we find so they never crawl out again.”
Howard forced a smile on his hardened face as he listened to Zeke’s words.
Zeke greeted Howard politely and left the hall.
Aslan decided to stay in the Four Seasons Castle for a while before returning to Thebes and testify about what happened in the Labyrinth.
He left a message telling Zeke that he wanted to repay the favor and that he should definitely come to the house of Thebes.
Zeke rode in a carriage and headed to Atlas’ mansion.
‘Howard that damn snake.’
Thinking about all the suffering I had caused Howard in my past life even tearing him to pieces and killing him wasn’t enough.
‘Just wait a moment. I will find your weak point and kill you with my own hands.’
Zeke muttered to himself then opened his mouth and looked at the person sitting across from him in the carriage seat.
“It’s been a while Shadia.”
Shadia a disciple of Salmak and a messenger sent by Zeke was sitting in front of Zeke with a new face.
“It’s been a while boss.”
“Yeah. How about the North?”
Shadia had gone to the Northern Continent under Zeke’s orders to investigate the situation in the Northern Grand Duke and its surroundings and had just returned.
Without saying anything Shadia took out the documents she had prepared and handed them to Zeke.
“These are the materials I checked and collected while I was in the North.”
Zeke looked over the documents Shadia had handed him.
It was a compilation of data that investigated and organized the power of the surrounding lords and old noble families including Himonas where the Northern Grand Duke was located.
Zeke clicked his tongue as he looked through the data Shadia had organized.
“The situation of the Northern Grand Duke is quite bad. It wouldn’t be strange if the lords of the Northern Continent rose up at any time.”
Originally the northern continent was home to more races than humans.
And during the past Holy Empire era the Pope used several hard-line measures to control other races in the northern continent.
At that time the lord of Himonas fought against the oppression of the Holy Empire and protected other races including humans.
Eventually the Pope recognized the autonomy of the Lord of Himonas by granting him the title of Northern Duke.
From then on the Northern Duke of Himonas had a symbolic meaning no different from that of the King of the North.
It was only natural that the northern lords would covet the position of the Northern Grand Duke.
Zeke looked at Shadia and asked.
“So what is the Northern Duke doing now? Has he made any moves to recruit any of them?”
That was when.
Shadia’s face turned pale in an uncharacteristic way and she swallowed hard and said.
“They are all dead.”
