    Episode 189

    “The King in Yellow?”

I felt like I had heard it somewhere.

Zeke recalled what Richmond had said in passing when he had been explaining the Book of the Dead.

‘They said it was a legend passed down among warlocks.’

When Zig showed a look of ignorance Hoshigar nodded and opened his mouth.

“At a time when even the Liberation War has not been properly communicated there is no way to know about the King in Yellow.”

    She continued.

“The king in yellow refers to the new demon king who will be resurrected.”

“What does it mean that the Demon King will be resurrected?”

“This is a prophecy from Kronos. The original text reads: The one who fell to the lowest level due to the sacrifice of the most noble will rise again as the king in yellow.”

    “That’s a riddle.”

“That’s what prophecies are all like. What can a dragon do?”

“When you say the sacrifice of the most noble do you mean the sacrifice of Bahamut?”

“No that doesn’t mean Bahamut it means the Great Sage.”

    “Are you a wise man?”

“You know the legend of the King of Heroes right?”

“Yes. The fairy king and the wise man who created Caesar. Isn’t that the wise man?”

“That’s right. There are quite a few versions of the legend of the King of Heroes. And among the lesser-known versions there are also those that deal with ‘the wise man’ rather than the King of Heroes.”

“I’ve heard a similar story. It’s about the story of the Hero King Caesar sealing the Demon King.”

“If you knew the story would be quicker. The Demon King’s invasion occurred even before the Liberation War. Legendary heroes including Caesar and the Sage fought against the Demon King’s army.”

“When you say the Demon King’s Army do you mean the legions of demons and monsters?”

“No the race that had the greatest power on the continent at that time was none other than the ‘Orcs’.”

“Orcs… I think they are the ancient Orcs right?”

“There is such a story but strictly speaking it is different. Orcs are orcs. They are a strong fighting race that can hold and swing weapons from the moment they are born. They worship the fallen constellations and offer blood and madness on the battlefield in exchange for greater strength.”

Zeke remembered how Arathaso had hated the constellations and vassals that the Orcs worshipped.

‘During the era of the Hero King the power of the constellations like the Horsemen of Blood and Madness must have been stronger.’

    Hoshgar continued his explanation.

“The Demon King’s army consisting of demons and orcs attempted to invade the entire continent including the Kingdom of Kronos. As a hero and warrior Kaiser fought against the Demon King’s army. He engaged in a final duel with the Demon King but was ultimately defeated.”

Zeke felt firsthand how strong Kaisir was.

I couldn’t even imagine how strong the Demon King was considering that even Caesar was defeated.

“But the Demon King was also almost exhausted. So the wise man sacrificed his soul to seal the Demon King.”

Although there were differences in content the basic narrative was similar to what Richmond had told.

But here again Zeke had one question.

‘But why didn’t Master Kaiser tell me this?’

Unlike Hosgar who was in a spirit state Kaisir was Kaisir himself although he temporarily appeared in a spirit state.

I’ve heard quite a bit from Caesar and watched the chronicle footage he left behind but there was nothing about the Demon King’s invasion or the Sage.

‘I wonder if there was some distortion in the process of passing down the legend of the King of Heroes like the legend of the Dragon Slayer.’

Zik asked Hoshigar with a question in his mind.

“Is the noble person mentioned in the prophecy that wise man?”

“That’s how we interpreted it. He fell to the lowest place through the sacrifice of the wise man. The Demon King was sealed. But the content that came after that was on my mind. He will be resurrected as the ‘King in Yellow’.”

“Did you think that the Demon King who led the war of liberation was the King in Yellow?”

“Yes. Bahamut conducted various experiments in order to somehow derail Kronos’ prophecy. However in the end he was unable to prevent the resurrected King in Yellow. So Bahamut accepted the Demon King’s soul into his own body and chose death himself thereby ending Kronos’ prophecy of destruction.”

“Is there more to the prophecy of Kronos?”

“Yes. But I can’t tell you the original text. I don’t think telling it will change anything.”

“I see. Then what does it mean that the prophecy of destruction that we thought was over has not ended?”

“After that Terracan guy disappeared I went into hiding and focused on studying new areas of magic. But the moment I entered that new area I started seeing things that I hadn’t seen before.”

“Are you talking about the prophecy of destruction?”

“Yes. So before the original ‘me’ ascended to the heavens I fixed the spiritual ‘me’. In order to pass on to future generations what I had realized about the prophecy of destruction.”

After hearing Hoshgar’s words Zik thought for a moment and then asked her a question.

“I just happened to come into this mansion. May I hear about the prophecy of doom?”

    Then Hoshgar shook his head.

“The fact that you came here and woke me up means that you are worthy of the arrangements that the original ‘me’ has prepared. I don’t know exactly what happened because I didn’t see what the original ‘me’ was looking at. I just conveyed the message that needed to be conveyed.”

    She continued looking at Zeke.

“The original ‘me’ told me to find all three relics to prepare for the prophecy of destruction.”

    “A holy relic?”

“Yeah. Do you know about the Holy Relics?”

I had already found one of the holy relics the Holy Grail and had it stored safely in my inventory.

    Zeke nodded.

“I only know that one is the Holy Grail.”

“I guess the most widely known one is the Holy Grail.”

“Do you know about the other two relics?”

“Unfortunately I don’t know the details either. I just know that one of them is a shield.”

    “A shield…..”

At the same time a message window popped up.

    ―Main Quest Mission (Linked)―

[Take the relics containing the power of the primordial to the Forgotten Temple of the Primordial. (No time limit / When you obtain all 3 relics the coordinates of the temple are automatically activated)]

[Find three relics to prepare for the prophecy of destruction delivered by the spirit of the great wizard Hoshigar. (No time limit)]

    [Main Quest Mission Reward: ???]

[Linked Quest Mission Reward: Title: Great Mage’s Protection]

    ‘what’s this?’

Zig was confused when he saw the suddenly appearing linked quest.

A linked quest has been added to the main quest you have already received.

‘The protection of the great wizard? I don’t know exactly what it is but it must be related to the great wizard so it must be good.’

    Then Hoshgar said to Zeke.

“In order to find the Zigg relic it would be most efficient to follow Terracan’s trail. That guy was particularly obsessed with relics.”

“Are you talking about the Terracan Draker?”

“Yeah. He thought the relic was the key to reviving Bahamut.”

As Zeke the heir to the Terracan Draker family it was the first time he had heard of it.

‘Hmm I guess I’ll have to carefully search through each and every document in the security vault.’

    That was when.

    Woohoo!

Hoshigar’s body began to blur for a moment.

    She said looking at Zeke.

“It looks like time is running out.”

    “Is the spirit body dispersing?”

“Yes. The original ‘me’ couldn’t exist for that long because it was created in a hurry. The law of karma wouldn’t allow it either.”

Zeke looked at Hoshigar’s body which was gradually fading away.

Then suddenly Hoshigar opened his mouth and looked at Zig.

“It’s really strange. When I look at you Zeke I think of Bahamut no Claudia.”

“Are you talking about Claudia Luverne?”

Hoshigar was surprised by Zig’s words and asked back.

“Yeah that’s right. How do you know that?”

Zick thought about it for a while before answering.

“I am of distant descent from Luverne.”

At those words Hoshigar burst into loud laughter.

“Poohahahaha! So this is what happened to the child Claudia gave birth to. Hahahaha!”

She laughed heartily and then spoke to Zeke with an almost faint look on her face.

“I have nothing special to offer to the distant descendants of my precious friend. Okay. Can you use the power of Yong-in?”

“Yes. I have the title of Yong-in.”

“Title? I don’t know what that is. Anyway I hope this helps a little.”

    Hoshigar’s eyes flashed with light.

At the same time Zeke’s eyes were also forcibly transformed into dragon eyes.

    ‘What is this?’

A message window popped up before my eyes.

[Some of the abilities of the Great Mage Hoshigar are transferred.]

[A new feature has been added to the Dragon Clan skill Dragon Tooth.]

[You can additionally summon 5 incarnated Dragon Tooth Soldiers.]

‘A dragon tooth that has become a spirit? No way?’

Hoshigar who had passed on his powers to Zeke had become so faint that he was almost transparent.

    She smiled and waved.

    Wooooow!

As Hoshigar’s figure completely disappeared the space in the reception room began to crack as if a glass wall was breaking.

    Tsk tsk tsk!

Within seconds the space was completely cracked and shattered.

After a while I looked around in a daze and saw that the living room was nowhere to be found and had returned to its original space.

When Zeke looked around the jewel of the spirit regenerator that was placed in the middle of the room had completely lost its light.

Additionally the spiritized dragon soldiers that had been guarding the area were nowhere to be seen.

“Hmm so you passed on the abilities of those dragon soldiers to me?”

Zeke tried to summon a spirit dragonfly as a test.

    Tsk tsk tsk tsk―

Unlike the dragon teeth soldiers that Hoshigar used they appeared in a similar form to the dragon teeth soldiers that Zeke usually summoned.

Instead their bodies were ghostly and hazy similar to the dragons of Hoshgar.

    “That’s amazing.”

The incarnated dragon teeth were able to completely hide their presence and traces making them ideal for sneaking into enemy lines or assassination.

“Let’s call them ghost soldiers to distinguish them from dragon soldiers.”

Zeke unsummoned the ghost soldier and looked around Hoshigar’s laboratory.

“This is the laboratory used by the founder of the Nirvana family. It would be a shame to just leave it there.”

He tried summoning Richmond again. Unlike before the security system did not block the summoning perhaps because Hoshigar’s power had disappeared.

“Oh my master! Please do something about that guy earlier!”

It was Richmond who started screaming as soon as he was called.

    “The night killer is awake.”

“As soon as he woke up he started causing quite a ruckus so I even summoned a dragon to hold him back.”

He was definitely not ordinary perhaps because he had undergone special training.

Zeke summoned the Dragon Tooth Soldier and sent him to where Eiren was to capture him.

Then he showed Richmond his lab.

    “How is it?”

    “What are you talking about?”

    “This lab.”

Only then did Richmond look around the lab. Soon Richmond’s eyes sparkled.

“Oh my goodness! What kind of wizard used this place? It’s the perfect place for research. Wow that equipment is hard to come by these days!”

    Zeke said to Richmond.

“This is the laboratory where the founder of Nirvana used to work.”

At those words Richmond stopped looking at the tool he was holding.

    “Who who?”

“Hoshgar. The founder of the Nirvana family.”

Richmond heard those words and trembled putting down what he was holding.

“I will go up first master.”

Zeke grabbed Richmond by the scruff of the neck.

“I’ll give it to you so find out what Hoshgar has been researching.”

“How would I know about the research of such a great wizard? After all they are in different fields!”

“There is a lot to say.”

Zeke dismissed his protests and summoned the Ghost Soldier again to show him the way.

    Richmond floundered in confusion.

    “Isn’t that the ghost?”

“These were the guardians that Hoshigar had placed here to guard this place. Doesn’t that sound a little interesting?”

Richmond who was interested in rare monsters looked at the phantom soldiers who had become spirits and showed interest in the fact that they were not ghosts.

“Oh this is… It’s like a spirit form like a race. How does it have a physical form? Hmm should I consider it as an undead monster…?”

It was Zeek who really ignited Richmond’s passion for research.

Eventually Richmond gave in to Zeke’s trick and decided to move his temporary laboratory in the Duchy of Troy here.

Although it was revealed that the ghost was actually a guardian of Hoshgar Zeke carried out a major purge of the entire mansion just in case.

    Wooooow!

A golden aura illuminated every corner of the mansion purifying the polluted air.

While he was finishing up the purification work Zeke discovered a hidden space inside the mansion.

    ‘Here…?’
