A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 188
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 188
Zig was confused by the sudden influx of information.
‘A great magician who uses the name Nirvana?’
It was only then that he realized her true identity.
“Could it be that Lord Hoshgar is the founder of the Nirvana family?”
Hoshigar tilted his head at Zig’s words.
“Family? I have never left behind any successors.”
“The Nirvana family is not a family of blood relatives. It is the most outstanding family of magicians who gather outstanding talents train them to become magicians and then give them the name of Nirvana.”
Hoshigar scratched his cheek thought deeply then nodded.
“I think I made something similar before I went into hiding.”
Surprisingly it was indeed the Hoshgar that was the founder of the Nirvana family.
‘You seem to know Terracan well. I guess that’s possible since we fought together in the war of liberation.’
The three great transcendent families of the continent Draker and Nirvana Ishtar first appeared in earnest during the War of Liberation and the Golden Age that followed.
While the Ishtar family moved down to the southern border area and established their own territory the Nirvana family maintained their base on the Aten Peninsula in the northern continent and continued to interact with the Eastern Empire by traveling between the islands of the Storm Sea.
The magicians of Nirvana who have continued to this day have gone on a different path from the magicians of Delphos and the Magic Tower that leads the magic world of the continent.
I don’t really do anything like submitting papers to the magical world or publishing new magical theories.
The magicians of Nirvana only pursue the magical world in the direction they want and will do anything to achieve it.
‘So the wizards of Nirvana are unpredictable. But they are stronger than any other group of wizards.’
Zeke wasn’t on good terms with the wizards of Nirvana in his past life.
The Continental War broke out and the Empire swallowed up Midland and the Central Kingdom then advanced into the Northern Continent.
As the Northern Alliance centered around Himonas prepared for war with the Empire Nirvana declared neutrality.
They drew a line saying they would not get involved in the war between the Empire and the Northern Continent.
At that time Zeke had gone to visit the Nirvana family as an envoy of Himonas.
I tried to persuade Nirvana for quite some time but in the end I couldn’t change their mind.
‘Those Nirvana guys can’t communicate with each other except for things that interest them. Those damn guys.’
Zig came to his senses and asked Hoshigar.

“Lord Hoshgar. What does the prophecy of destruction mean?”
I heard a passing mention of it in Bahamut’s memories but I didn’t know the exact details.
Hoshgar opened his mouth as he looked at Zig.
“There was a dragon who prophesied the destruction of the world.”
Zeke knew who the dragon she was talking about was.
‘Cronus.’
A dragon who helped the swordsman Shaton Draker the contract dragon of King Heroes Kaisir create the True Dragon Sword and foretold the future with the power of time.
Hoshgar continued.
“According to the dragon’s prophecy we prepared for war. At first the kingdoms didn’t believe us but when the gate opened and monsters and demons poured in they quickly began to build a defensive line.”
“What is a gate?”
“It’s a bit different from the portal… It’s hard to explain. I’ll just show you.”
Hoshigar waved his hand.
Then a 3D image screen floated into the air.
Kookookookookook!
A huge hole appeared between the sky and the earth.
And then something started coming out of the black hole.
Kookung! Boom! Boom!
A large gigantic demon walked out of the hole as if a mountain was moving.
After the large demons came out in a line medium-sized demons and what looked like lower-level demons from the monster army came out of the hole.
Zeke’s mouth fell open when he saw the video.
“Is that hole a gate?”
“Yes. A passage connecting the demon world and the phenomenal world. An abnormal phenomenon that deviates from the law of karma.”
“Are you saying that hole is connected to the demon world?”
“Yes the higher-level demons can’t come out but the demons living in the demon world and the lower-level demons can use it to travel to and from the psychic world. But even the lower-level demons can’t be ignored. If we compare them to knights each and every one of them has power greater than that of a blue knight.”
The low-level demons seen in the video alone numbered in the thousands.
‘Thousands of Blue Knights? Oh my god.’
If the lower-level demons were like this it was difficult to imagine how much power the middle-level and upper-level demons had.
Zeke thought of the Arataso sealed in his sword.
Considering that he called himself a high-ranking demon the actual power he could display in the demon world would be greater than that of the Black Knight.
Zik asked Hoshigar a question he had been wondering about for a long time.
“So the dragons created that gate? To borrow the power of the demon world and destroy humanity?”
At Zig’s words Hoshigar’s eyes widened for a moment.
Then he opened his mouth sighing as if it was nonsense.
“What are you talking about? Why are the dragons opening the gate? Even if we stop them together it won’t be enough.”
“Isn’t it Yong who started the war of liberation? If Yong didn’t make that gate then who did?”
Then Hoshigar’s body trembled slightly and his eyes flashed.
“What did you just say? That the liberation war was started by a dragon?”

Zeke felt that Hoshigar’s reaction was unusual.
He quickly took out a book from his inventory containing the legend of the Dragon Slayer and the history of the liberation war that he had previously kept.
Hoshigar suppressed his anger and took the book that Zig took out.
“Reading.”
Suddenly the book floated into the air opened with a start and the letters began to glow.
Hoshigar’s dragon’s eyes also shone together.
After a while the book that had been floating in the air fell to the floor with a thud.
Hosgar who had been sitting clenched his teeth and got up from his seat.
Ddddddddddd!
The entire space in the mansion including the reception room began to shake.
A red light appeared on Hoshgar’s face.
“How dare you… distort this war like this?”
Zeke also knew that the Draker family censored and controlled the legend of the Dragon Slayer.
But seeing the person involved so angry made me think that the content wasn’t just reduced.
Hoshgar shouted in a voice full of anger.
“Evil Dragon Bahamut? You crazy bastards! If it weren’t for Bahamut the phenomenal world itself would have disappeared. You humans don’t even know gratitude!”
Yong-in Hoshgar portrayed humans as if they were a different race.
Zeke waited until Hoshigar calmed down.
Hosgar ran around the living room hurling mad curses at humans. After downing three strong espressos in quick succession he finally calmed down and sat down again.
“Whew. Sorry. I got a little excited.”
“No don’t worry about it.”
If the great wizard could vent his anger by swearing like this and shaking the ground a bit then it was a cheap deal.
His former teacher the forest hermit Nigel would only calm down when he got angry enough to cause the earth to collapse and a mountain to split apart.
The Forest of the Forgotten is an ancient cursed place and is covered in endless floods. If it weren’t for the curse the Master’s temper would have been unbearable and the trees would have been uprooted in no time turning it into a wasteland.
Hoshgar put down his espresso cup and spoke to Zeke.
“That book is completely wrong. The war of liberation is not about liberation from dragons.”
“Then what are we being liberated from?”
Hoshgar said gnashing his teeth.
“What the heck? Those damn constellations.”
“yes?”
Zeke found himself asking a question at the completely unexpected answer.
He continued speaking slowly.
“If it’s a constellation is it the one I know? Of the thirteen zodiac signs….”
“No not those gentlemen. The guys down there.”
“If you say those below are you talking about demons from the underworld?”
“Devils. Good and evil are concepts created from a human perspective so the meaning is a little different but in any case it does refer to those guys. Constellations that were banished to the Demon World.”
“Does that mean the liberation war was a war to escape from those constellations?”
“Yes. They seduced humans and made them their slaves and with that power they deceived the law of karma and intervened in the phenomenal world. Thanks to that the humans of the Seven Kingdoms fought and hated each other and killed each other repeatedly.”
“What are the devils doing this for?”
“What could it be? I guess he wanted to crawl back up here.”
“Are you talking about the phenomenal world?”
“Yes. The Demon World is an imperfect world that exists between the phenomenal world and the vast abyss. The constellations that were banished there try to maintain their existence in the imperfect world by creating a safe zone with their power and increasing their followers to protect their territory. However it is an unstable and imperfect world. That is why they always want to return to the phenomenal world.”
“But if it is impossible for even the higher-level demons to come to the phenomenal world is it possible for the demons the constellations to ascend?”
“Originally it was impossible. But they came up with a trick. They found a way to cheat karma and stay in the phenomenal world.”
After hearing Hoshgar’s words Zeke remembered what he had heard from Richmond before.
“Dragon’s body?”
“That’s right. If you corrupt a dragon swallow its soul and take over its body you will be able to exist in the phenomenal world as a constellation. If you gather a lot of human souls and build your own domain and regain your authority you can also draw on the power of the demon world.”
Zeek’s expression hardened after hearing Hoshigar’s words.
“Oh my goodness then the role of the dragon slayer could be….”
Hoshigar’s expression also darkened.
She opened her mouth slowly.
“To give rest to the dragons whose bodies have been taken away by the fallen constellations. That is the role of the dragon slayers.”
Only then did Zeke understand the significance of Terrakan Draker’s battle with the red dragon while riding a Pegasus.
He asked Hoshgar with a still stern expression on his face.
“So Bahamut known as the evil dragon was also controlled by the devil?”
Hoshigar bit his lip.
Then he swallowed a sigh and spoke.
“Bahamut… has never been corrupted. He chose to swallow the Demon King’s soul and die at the hands of his contractor in order to protect everyone.”
“The Demon King?”
“Yes. The leader of the fallen constellations the rotten bastard who wants to rule the phenomenal world. Those stupid humans woke up the sealed Demon King. Because of that I lost my most beloved friend.”
“oh my god.”
After learning the truth about the war of liberation Zik could not easily continue speaking.
The hidden truth was that Bahamut recorded as the enemy of humanity and the dragon of destruction who tried to destroy the continent was actually the one who sacrificed himself to save everyone from the Demon King.
Hosgar gritted his teeth and glared.
“You ungrateful bastards. Bahamut didn’t need to go to all that trouble to save the world. But Bahamut made that choice anyway. Because of that damn Terracan.”
An incomparably greater killing intent rose from Hoshigar’s body.
The stinging pain pricked my skin like thousands of needles.
Zeke had felt something similar.
‘Arthur Draker’s Astral Sword.’
The Astral Sword which can be created when reaching the level of the Black Knight is the ultimate technique that can kill enemies with will alone.
However even though Hoshigar was not a knight he created a typified killing spirit similar to the Astral Sword. It was a part that made one feel the majesty of a great magician.
At some point the murderous aura that had filled the living room disappeared in an instant.
She apologized to Zeke with an embarrassed expression.
“Sorry. I got excited again without realizing it.”
Then she looked at Zeke and tilted her head.
“Huh? Come to think of it you’ve taken the full force of my power and are still fine. I’m amazed. You’re really strong.”
At first it sounded like an arrogant remark but Hoshigar was truly impressed by Zeke’s skills. Moreover since she was more than qualified to say such things Zeke nodded gratefully.
She was about to add more to Zeke’s response but she clapped her hands and shook her head.
“Look at my mind. I haven’t been able to say what I really needed to say and have been doing something else.”
Hoshgar continued speaking while looking at Zig.
“Anyway we thought we had prevented destruction by following the prophecy of Cronus the dragon. But that wasn’t the case.”
“That wasn’t it?”
“Yes. The prophecy of Kronos is not over yet we were mistaken.”
“Wasn’t it Bahamut’s sacrifice that stopped the Demon King?”
“No that’s true. But the Demon King wasn’t completely destroyed.”
“What do you mean?”
Hoshgar said as he looked at Zig.
“Have you ever heard of the King in Yellow?”
