A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 187
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 187
Zeke thought of the dragonfly he used to summon and use.
A being that looks like a ghost but is not a ghost nor is it an undead or a demon golem.
Although their forms were different the being most similar to the ghosts of the mansion was none other than the Yong-A-Byeong.
Zeke slowly approached the beings.
Ss …
Zeke passed through their disembodied bodies.
‘Does it go back and forth between spiritualization and materialization?’
Zig passed them and entered the cave.
‘Here…?’
Surprisingly the inside of the cave was a wizard’s laboratory.
‘Richmond saw this mansion and wanted it as a laboratory and it really was a laboratory.’
The research space was filled with strange experimental tools I had never seen before magical books and artifacts that had been failed.
Zig who was looking around the research facilities soon shook his head.
“Hmm I don’t know what’s what. Show me Richmond and I’ll tell you.”
When Zeke tried to summon Richmond a message window popped up instead of Richmond responding.
[This is an area where summoning is restricted by the security system.]
It seemed like summoning of summoned creatures was impossible here.
Zeke gave up on calling Richmond and looked around the lab more.
As he slowly checked he discovered something lying in the middle of the lab.
“What is this?”
It was a device similar to the one seen in the Hero King’s Resting Place.
A green gemstone was floating inside a transparent cylinder. Zig slowly approached the gemstone.
Then at some point the system window responded.
[Connect with the spirit regeneration device of the great wizard Hoshigar.]
[The spirit player is working.]

Wooooow!
The cylinder containing the gemstone began to vibrate and flashed with light.
At the same time a halo of light began to form.
Zeke stepped back and looked around wary of the halo.
And after a while someone walked out of the halo.
“Whew. I wondered if this would actually work and it does.”
Inyoung wearing a robe decorated with gorgeous patterns.
Zeke felt a familiar feeling from Inyoung who suddenly appeared.
‘Master Caesar?’
It felt similar to Kaiser who had appeared in the form of a spirit and passed on the Elemental Sword to him.
The figure known as Hoshigar took off the robe that covered his face.
The face of a young woman was revealed making the title of Great Mage seem meaningless.
But when Zeke saw her he was surprised by something else.
“Yong-an?”
The woman’s two pupils were like dragon eyes that glowed golden like Zeke’s.
Then Hoshigar tilted his head while looking at Zig.
“Huh? What is this? I thought you were Yong-in but you’re a human.”
Zik opened his mouth to speak to Hoshigar.
“Are you the great wizard Hoshigar?”
Then she smiled and said
“Why are you asking this after seeing everything in the system window?”
Zigg felt goosebumps at Hoshigar’s words.
‘Do you know the system window?’
He was the first person to know of the existence of the system window except himself.
Zig swallowed dryly and asked Hoshigar.
“Do you know the System Window Manager system?”
“this?”
As Hoshigar waved her hand a system window appeared in front of her surprisingly. Zigg was even more bewildered when he saw the system window that Hoshigar had created.
“Was this something that could be shown to other people?”
“What the heck? You haven’t even been properly educated. Isn’t the contract dragon supposed to teach you something like this?”
Zeke’s expression changed subtly.
“I didn’t make a contract with a dragon.”
At those words Hoshigar frowned.
“Does that make sense? How can you be a manager if you didn’t sign a contract with Yong?”
“Is it true that becoming an administrator requires making a contract with a dragon?”
Hoshigar shook his head and sighed.
“Ha where should I start talking about this? It’s not like the original ‘me’ left behind a spiritual ‘me’ to explain things like this.”

Hoshigar waved his hand again.
Then all of a sudden the space shifted sideways and a completely different space not the laboratory appeared.
Zigg broke out in a cold sweat when he saw Hoshigar’s magic that was on a different level.
‘They say he’s a great magician… but I can’t even guess to what extent he’s at it.’
The changed space was a reception room with an old-fashioned atmosphere.
Hoshgar asked Zik.
“What would you like to drink? We have drip coffee espresso latte and tea.”
Zeke didn’t quite understand what Hoshigar was saying but he answered without letting on.
“I would like to drink tea.”
“Okay. Just sit there.”
Zig sat down on the sofa obediently. Hoshigar went to the shelf on one side of the living room and skillfully poured tea and coffee for himself.
She sat across from Zeke with tea and coffee.
“Try it. I put a preservation spell on it so the tea will be fine.”
Zik savored the taste of the tea that Hoshgar had brought.
I thought it would be something special since it was a car driven by a great wizard but it was more ordinary than I expected.
Hoshgar drank the black liquid from the small glass little by little.
“What is that?”
“Espresso. But are you really asking because you don’t know?”
“This is the first time I’ve seen anything like this.”
“Oh my god. Do you know what coffee is?”
“I know coffee. It’s different from espresso or something.”
“Hmm. I guess things have changed a lot over time. Anyway looking at the year in the system it’s the year 1041 of the Liberation Era.”
For a moment I remembered Caesar who counted the years according to the Chronos calendar.
“You know the power of liberation.”
“Then how do you count the date not by the liberation calendar?”
“no.”
Hoshgar stared blankly at Zig before taking another sip of his espresso and speaking.
“It’s been a thousand years since I left the phenomenal world.”
“What does it mean to leave the phenomenal world?”
“Do you know the saying ‘A feather transforms into an immortal’?”
“This is the first time I’ve heard of it.”
“Hmm has this word disappeared? So much has changed in a thousand years. If I were to explain it in detail it means that we have gone beyond the physical body bound to the phenomenal world and advanced to a higher dimension.”
“Does that mean you became a spirit and went to the fairy world?”
“Huh? What are you talking about?”
“It’s nothing.”
It felt similar to Caesar but it was different in that it had the power of liberation.
Hoshgar put down his espresso cup and said.
“Anyway the me that you see now is not the real ‘me’. The true nature of me has already moved to a higher dimension and the current me is the state I was in before I ascended the Uhwadengseon fixed in a spirit form.”
“It is said that there is a being that exists but is not present here.”
“Oh you’re quite smart. Are you a wizard?”
“It’s a knight.”
Hoshigar looked slightly disappointed at the word knight.
“It would have been better if I had been a wizard. It’s a shame but there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Zeke looked at Hoshigar again looking regretful.
A great wizard from a thousand years ago.
But I had never heard of the name Hoshigar.
‘If it were a thousand years ago he would have participated in the war of liberation. But I’ve never heard of him…’
Zeke opened his mouth cautiously.
“Hoshigar do you know Terracan Draker?”
At his words Hoshigar stopped drinking his espresso cup again.
Her expression became considerably colder than before.
“Terracan. Yeah I know.”
Zeke could tell right away from Hoshigar’s reaction that she wasn’t on good terms with Terracan Draker.
Just as I was contemplating what to say Hoshigar spoke first.
“How could I forget that idiot who was going crazy and trying to revive the contract dragon he killed?”
Zigg was rather embarrassed by Hoshigar’s blunt words.
‘Terrakan tried to save Bahamut?’
I remembered a similar comment made by a middle-aged Terracan Draker in a video he left on the Ark.
‘I said that if we went somewhere past the Dark Sea we might be able to find Bahamut again.’
Zik asked Hoshigar.
“Is that possible?”
Then Hoshigar’s face distorted.
“Is it possible? It’s impossible to revive a dead human. How can you revive a dragon especially Bahamut the strongest dragon? That’s ridiculous.”
Zig nodded at Hoshigar’s words.
The idea of resurrection was as absurd as the emperor of an empire dreaming of immortality.
Hoshgar said as he looked at Zig.
“Let’s not talk about Terracan as much as possible. It’s annoying.”
From what I heard it seemed like Hoshgar and Terrakan didn’t have a good relationship but they knew each other well.
‘Are you one of the heroes who was erased from legend?’
Hoshgar looked at Zig and asked.
“So what is your identity? You have the power of a dragon but you’re not a dragon. You didn’t make a contract with a dragon but you have access to the administrator system. It doesn’t make sense to me.”
After much thought Zeke decided to tell Hoshigar one of his secrets.
Since I met someone who knew about the system I wanted to know exactly what it was.
Zeke opened his inventory and took out a black dragon statue.
It was an ancient relic brought from the Elder Dragon’s resting place.
Zig said handing the statue to Hoshigar.
“Do you know what this is?”
Hoshigar slowly reached out his hand after looking at the statue. She took the statue and examined it from all sides.
After a while she slowly put it down and sighed.
“under….”
Hoshgar said as he looked at Zig.
“I don’t know what it is.”
For a moment Zeke’s expression distorted.
“I thought you knew something.”
“I know I know. There are things I don’t know.”
Hoshigar snapped his fingers as he looked at the dragon statue.
“What is your name?”
“This is Zeke.”
Although he deliberately did not mention his last name Hoshigar did not seem to care.
“Yes Zeke. It may sound strange to say this but it’s really rare for me to say I don’t know. I know most things.”
It was a tremendous confidence.
Hoshigar clicked his tongue as he looked around at the black dragon statue.
“Wow I don’t even know what this is made of. What is this?”
Zig said to Hoshigar.
“It is a relic of the Elder Dragon.”
“what?”
Hoshigar looked puzzled at Zig’s words.
She looked at the dragon statue again her fingertips trembling slightly.
Then he slowly looked at Zeke.
“Where did you get this?”
“I brought it from the Elder Dragon’s resting place.”
Hoshigar looked at the dragon statue with a complicated expression and then looked at Zeke.
She nodded as if she understood something.
“I wondered why my spirit body was reborn after a thousand years. That’s why it happened.”
Hoshgar continued speaking while looking at Zig.
“I have a rough idea of your condition. You must have been unable to learn about the system if you tried.”
“If we extrapolate from what Hoshigar said it seems like the administrator system is an ability given only to the dragon’s contractors correct?”
“Yes that’s right. The dragon was created to lend its power to its contractors more efficiently.”
“Does that mean that the Dragon Contractor can use the Dragon’s power?”
“Some of them can use it because their souls are connected. Karma is really funny. The dragon that made the contract can’t use its own power but the person who made the contract can use the dragon’s power through the system.”
Zeke could now understand why a system window had appeared in Terracan’s field of vision.
He asked Hoshgar again.
“What is Yongin? Is Hoshigar also Yongin?”
“You have a lot to be curious about. Well that makes sense. Yong-in is… a kind of shortcut.”
“You call it a shortcut?”
“Yes. It’s a trick that the dragon created because he wanted to spend more time with his contractor.”
“Then the Yongin are not one race? In the legend there is a separate race called the Yongin so I only knew that.”
“It’s a bit much to call them a race but it’s true that they have deviated from humans. They cheated the law of karma and made a contract with the dragon by sharing its heart so they became a being that is neither human nor dragon.”
Zeke was startled by those words.
‘Share the dragon’s heart?’
Before Zeke’s interruption Bahamut’s heart was asleep. However he did not make a contract with the dragon.
He had simply accepted the spirit of the Elder Dragon and received authority from the administrator system.
‘So you have the power of tolerance but you are not tolerance and you do not have the contract but you have the ability of an administrator.’
Hoshgar said as he looked at Zig.
“I know you have a lot of questions but there isn’t much time. Now I will explain why I have appeared before you in spirit form.”
Her eyes lit up.
“My name is Hoshgar Nirvana. I am the great magician who has appeared before you after a thousand years to deliver the prophecy of destruction.”
