A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 186
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 186
Even after the Continental War ended in the previous life the Night Killers’ identities were not revealed. People only assumed that they were magicians.
When I met the Night Killer in the Join tribe ghetto area before I thought he was just a wizard who mixed magic and used sniping magic.
But in reality Zig’s guess was completely wrong.
I never imagined that the Night Killer would be a knight who uses a magic gun to shoot bullets filled with magic energy.
‘No matter how much I tried to shake off the Imperial Wizard bastards they wouldn’t come out. They weren’t wizards they were specially trained assassins.’
Zeke wondered what to do with the unconscious Aaron so he decided to use his dragon senses.
‘I need to check where the back is before waking him up and interrogating him.’
Zeke ordered Richmond and the Dragon’s Axe to stand guard and reached out to the fallen Ayran.
Woohoo!
Memories of Aaron flooded into Zeke’s mind.
Ss …
Fragmented memories flashed through his mind. Zeke examined the fragments of his memories closely.
Then Zeke discovered Eiren’s memories from when he was training.
‘This way.’
Zeke touched the fragment of memory he was training on and delved into it.
In the forest young boys and girls with shaved heads were lined up in a smokescreen with venomous eyes.
The children who looked to be about fifteen or sixteen years old all looked like ferocious wild animals.
His whole body was covered in wounds and in his hand he held a deformed sword that was somewhere between the length of an arming sword and a dagger.
A masked person came up to the children and shouted.
“Of all the guys who came here only you guys are left! The rest of you all died because you were weak! The swords you hold are stained with the blood of weaklings! If you are weak you will die! Don’t forget that fact!”
The children’s eyes grew even more violent at the shout of the man who seemed to be a drill instructor.
Zeke gritted his teeth as he listened to the instructor’s words.
‘Those crazy kids. They trained the kids and then made them kill each other.’
Zeke’s eyes burned coldly.
Zeke had also received this type of training.

Because that was how the cartels in the southern continent raised hitmen.
Zeke also had to kill his fellow trainees in order to survive when he was trained as a full-time hitman in his previous life.
At first you won’t be able to swing your sword. But when someone starts killing your weakest comrades and when your trusted comrades start to take up arms that’s when hell begins.
Zeke also killed his comrades who tried to kill him in order to survive.
Because he looked weak Zeke was the first to be targeted. However in the end Zeke was the one who survived.
As the slaughter began Zeke swung his sword without hesitation and made sure to kill any enemy no matter how weak they were.
Zeke learned that the Night Killers were also trained in this brutal manner.
He searched his memories further.
After graduating from the training camp with high grades Aeron surprisingly entered Draker Academy.
There he received regular knight training along with other fellow trainees.
Zeke was puzzled when he saw the memory.
‘You trained them to be knights on purpose? What kind of guys are they?’
Those who graduated from the academy were called back together and secretly received special training.
Eiren received training as an assassin but due to his good grades there he was drafted into the Magical Corps where he learned how to handle magical firearms.
Zeke could tell that the Night Killers were a group that had put a tremendous amount of time and money into creating.
‘The Empire wouldn’t train like this… It’s much more systematic and covert.’
I’ve always thought that Night Killer was part of the Empire but after seeing Aeren’s memories I think that might not be the case.
At that time the scene where Aaron finished his training as a Night Killer and received a medal while wearing his uniform came to mind.
Zeke looked into the memory.
But surprisingly a completely unexpected person appeared in Eiren’s memories.
‘Cain?’
Cain who died at the hands of Zeke in the dungeon of the Southern Continent was in Aeren’s memories.
Cain personally placed medals on the uniforms of the Night Killers and shook their hands one by one.
The uniformed night killers saluted Cain.
“Hey! Siemens!”
That was when.
Woohoo!
As Aaron was about to wake up his memories began to shatter and become tangled.
There seemed to be a difference between using the dragon’s senses while awake and unconscious.
Zeke quickly emerged from Eiren’s memories.
Phew!
Zeke opened his eyes.
He realized where they were training the Night Killers including Aaron.
“It was those damn Siemens guys.”
It was a secret weapon developed by Siemens not the Empire.
In the continental war that occurred in the previous life most of the Drakers as well as the Draker bloodlines fell to the Empire.
That’s why Siemens’ secret assassination squad was sent to the battlefield on the Empire’s side.

‘Was Cain originally a Siemens reporter?’
Cain’s identity was still a mystery.
I had previously tried to read the memories remaining in Theia’s Hersion but there were no memories of Cain perhaps due to the defensive function of the ancient artifact.
Zeke looked at the fallen Aaron and thought about it.
“Maybe we can find out if we interrogate this guy.”
Then suddenly Aaron’s eyes opened wide. As soon as he got up he swung his blade at Zeke.
WHEEK!
Zeke easily dodged Eiren’s attack and stepped back.
As the attack returned in vain Eiren rolled on the ground to gain some distance from Zeke.
He realized that he had been stripped of all his weapons and took a martial arts stance.
Zeke looked surprised at such an Aaron.
‘It wasn’t for nothing that I received knight training.’
Aaron realized that the target before him was Zeke and looked for an opportunity to eliminate him.
Then Zeke opened his mouth to speak to Aaron.
“Aaron Dominic.”
When Zeke called his name correctly he flinched and panicked.
But since he was a specially trained agent he quickly came to his senses and looked for an opportunity to attack Zeke.
Zeke stuck out his tongue at the sight.
Night Killers are trained to the point of brainwashing from a young age and are murderous weapons whose top priority is eliminating their targets.
Zeke said looking at Aaron.
“Listen to me you’ve been brainwashed by Siemens.”
Whoosh!
Aaron moved quickly without reacting and ran towards Zeke.
Pavabak!
He kicked Zigg with a movement not unlike that of Ishtar’s sorcerers.
puck!
Zig raised his hand to block his kick and stepped back.
‘I guess words won’t do it.’
He decided to face Eiren under the same conditions using martial arts without using a sword.
Zeke assumed the Infinite Chain stance. Then he unleashed the strong wave resonance he had learned from Aratasso.
Wooooow!
The vibrations spread out around Zig. Eiren didn’t care and ran up the wall towards Zig.
Ziggy fired a powerful blast of energy at Eiren.
Wooooow!
The power of the strong wave resonance struck Eiren who was rushing towards him.
“Cough!”
The vibration of mana made Eiren’s aura boil.
He collapsed on the spot and began to retch.
“Whoooosh!”
My head was spinning and I felt dizzy so much that I couldn’t even stand properly.
Zig was surprised by the effectiveness of the strong wave resonance that he was using for the first time in real combat.
‘This isn’t a joke?’
It might not work on even the Blue Knights who can freely control Aura but it was a formidable weapon that could subdue knights of lower levels in one blow.
‘I guess I have to practice hard.’
Zeke rolled on the floor and approached Aaron who was somehow trying to get up.
He tried to pull himself together glaring at Zeke.
“Ugh.”
When his body wouldn’t follow suit Aron tried to commit suicide as he had been trained to do.
Crunch!
He tried to commit suicide by biting the poison hidden behind his molars but something felt strange.
“If you were trying to poison me it’s too late. I’ve already removed it.”
It’s not that I failed to catch the Night Killer in my past life.
But as soon as the bad guys were caught they drank the poison and blew up the bomb inside their bodies killing them without leaving any evidence behind.
When Eiren’s suicide attempt failed he glared at Zeke as if he was going to kill him but he still tried to move his body.
Zeke clicked his tongue as he looked at Aaron like that.
“What did those Siemens guys do for you that you’re so loyal to them? You idiot.”
He looked at Aaron with bloodshot eyes and kicked him in the jaw. Aaron bled out and passed out.
Zeke called Richmond.
“Take that Richmond and stay upstairs. I’ll interrogate him separately after I’m done here so hold him tight so he doesn’t escape.”
“Understood master.”
Richmond summoned a skeleton and took Aeren upstairs.
After confirming the appearance Zeke pulled out Bahamut and wandered around the maze.
“I thought the guys who set the trap were all killed by the real ghosts.”
I had no idea that something so absurd could actually happen.
Zeke clicked his tongue as he learned through Eiren’s memories that the men who had been after him had been annihilated by the ghosts of this place.
The skills of the dark magicians and specially dispatched knights including the night killers sent by Siemens were also no joke.
But I couldn’t understand why they were all killed by ghosts without a trace.
“What the hell is this ghost?”
If it had this much power it was likely an ancient curse that had been around for a thousand years.
Before attempting to do so Zeke intended to examine the ghost and if possible absorb it through binge eating.
That was when.
The Yong-Ah-Byeong who had been sent out on reconnaissance sent a signal that he had discovered something.
Whoosh!
Zeke ran quickly towards it.
I thought it was just an ordinary mansion but the underground space was so large that I thought it was a dungeon.
But the strange thing was that in Eiren’s memory this underground place was like a maze that was so complicated that it was impossible to find the way out but in Zeke’s eyes it didn’t look like that at all.
‘Is it because of the dragon’s face that you can see the road properly?’
Zeke ran along the clearly visible road and soon arrived at the place where the dragon’s teeth were.
Then a vague shadowy phantom stood before me.
Zeke drew Bahamut and aimed it at the wraith.
“I don’t know what kind of ghost it is but let’s give it a try.”
But strangely the ghost didn’t make any moves even after seeing Zeke.
‘What? Why aren’t you attacking me?’
Clearly he had shown aggressive moves to the point of attacking Eiren and his party first.
That was when.
The ghost turned around again and started moving somewhere.
Zeke quickly chased after the ghost with his sword in hand. Then he swung a hammer of light at the ghost.
Kwakwakwang!
The hammer of light slammed down on the ghost.
Ss …
However the ghost that had been hit by the hammer of light and scattered like fog soon returned to its original form and began to walk along its path again.
Zeke looked dumbfounded.
‘Isn’t that a ghost?’
The skill of light was incompatible with cursed ghosts or beings possessed by magic.
This time Zeke summoned the Holy Spirit and created flames.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
As expected the ghost passed through the Holy Fire.
Zeke had no choice but to admit that the being was not a ghost.
‘Then what is that?’
It was neither a ghost nor an undead nor a demon. It had no substance so it was not a golem.
As far as Zeke knew there was no such thing in the world.
Although he was confused Zeke decided to follow the suspicious being.
The being that had been walking somewhere for a while suddenly stood tall and stopped walking.
“Huh? What is it?”
The being turned towards Zeke raised its hand and pointed to one side of the wall.
Zeke turned his head and looked at the wall with his eyes wide open.
‘Secret place?’
In an instant the being pointing at the wall disappeared like smoke.
It was as if it had been moving all this time to indicate the location of this wall.
Zeke slowly approached the wall. When he touched it surprisingly a message appeared.
[The security device connects to the administrator system.]
[Confirm the title tolerance.]
[Security Code Release]
[Open the door.]
Kookookookookook!
A place that looked like a wall opened up on its own.
Zeke looked back and forth between the message and the open door with a bewildered expression.
‘So you’re saying it’s not just a cursed place?’
Once the security device was disarmed there was no threat.
Zeke opened the door and went inside. Then he saw a spiral staircase leading down to the basement.
Zeke began to slowly descend.
After going down for a while a huge cave appeared. And when Zig came face to face with the cave he was surprised.
This was because there were about ten of the ghostly beings we had seen earlier standing in a row in the hall.
As he watched these people standing there as if waiting for orders something flashed through Zeke’s mind.
This time something similar to them came to mind.
“Dragon disease…?”
