    Episode 171

    ‘Edward Siemens.’

As the second son of the Siemens family he participated in the Draker Martial Arts Tournament but was pushed aside by Sieg and did not receive much attention.

There was such an Edward Siemens with Dario Totlino.

    Zeke looked at Dario.

Next to Edward sat a pale bearded man with a face full of beard. He wore a jeweled ring on his finger and was a middle-aged man of austere appearance dressed in old-fashioned aristocratic attire.

    He gestured towards Zeke.

Zeke approached Dario and greeted him.

“It’s an honor to meet you. My name is Zeke Murray.”

Zig took Dario’s hand in accordance with old etiquette and kissed his ring.

Dario’s expression changed when he saw that Zig.

“You know manners differently than most young people these days.”

Dario offered him a seat with a satisfied expression.

Then he introduced Edward who was sitting next to him.

“This is Edward Siemens a direct descendant of the Siemens family. He is soon to be knighted as a Draker.”

Zeke sat up with a startled expression and bowed his head to Edward.

“Greetings. My name is Zeke Murray. I have heard a lot about the Siemens family. And now that you are a knight of the Drakes… I have the opportunity to meet you today.”

Edward laughed heartily at Zeke’s words.

“Haha! Make yourself at home. Your name is Zeke Murray I think. I heard you became very rich at a young age.”

“I am fortunate enough to run a few small businesses although I am not well off.”

    Then Dario smiled and said

“Mr. Edward Mr. Murray is also very interested in this black ore investment.”

    Edward nodded at Dario’s words.

“Good. As Sir Dario said earlier those who don’t invest in this project are lacking. There is an opportunity to become rich right in front of you so you shouldn’t miss it.”

Zeke listened to the conversation between Dario and Edward and figured out what was going on.

‘My liver is swollen. Edward Siemens is a bit lacking but he thinks of doing work for a direct descendant of Siemens.’

The mafia’s methods were extremely vicious.

He searches for scoundrels among the children of powerful families and uses them to manipulate them into losing their souls through alcohol gambling and drugs.

After you build up a relationship like that and your debts start to pile up you start talking about investing saying that there are ways to make money.

Those whose judgment is already clouded will invest money without thinking about the consequences using their credit as collateral.

The first few times it gives you a taste of success and brings you a lot of money.

The scoundrel from the family who got a taste of money goes all-in on the investment borrowing more money than he already has.

It seemed like Edward was in that exact situation right now.

Edward exchanged a few more words with Dario and then quickly rose from his seat.

He looked down at Zeke and smirked before leaving.

“Have a good time. See you next time.”

Zeke noticed something suspicious as he watched Edward leave with a subtle smile.

‘It looks like these mafia guys are trying to steal my money and give it to that kid.’

It seemed like they were using another roundabout method because it would be too risky to go straight to Siemens.

It seemed that they wanted to first give Edward a large sum of money for a planned investment project and gradually make him rely on them and then create an opportunity to make a big deal with the Siemens family.

I wondered why he had bothered with Siemens but it seemed he had no intention of extracting money from Edward.

‘The moment you receive mafia money you fall into a trap. That guy definitely seems to be lacking compared to Siemens.’

Only after Edward left did Dario look at Zeke and say:

“I’m sorry Mr. Murray. Edward came to see me unexpectedly.”

    It was an obvious method.

It was a device to show that he had this kind of relationship with Siemens.

In addition Edward was able to gain trust by showing that wealthy businessmen were coming in as investors.

‘What he’s doing is incredibly sinister.’

Zeke nodded in agreement with Dario’s words his expression filled with admiration.

“Don’t worry. From what you just said it seems like Dario and Edward are also involved in this investment in black ore.”

    Dario nodded.

“In fact I would say that this is one of the businesses I’m most interested in these days. As you know black ore is a business that requires a lot of investment but has a lot of return.”

“That’s right. I also became more interested in black ore after studying it through investment projects.”

Zeke answered Dario’s words with a slightly bewildered look.

Dario looked into Zeke’s eyes for a moment and then nodded.

“Good. Mr. Murray I see sincerity in your eyes.”

He decided to leave the work to Zeke and motioned to Vincenzo.

“I will deliver the contract to Mr. Murray.”

Vincenzo brought the contract he had prepared in advance to Zeke.

It was a contract to participate in an investment in a black ore mine.

Zig quickly glanced over the contents of the contract and chuckled to himself.

‘What kind of ridiculous contract is this?’

There were poisonous clauses with cleverly twisted words scattered throughout.

Even if the mine development failed there were absurd clauses hidden throughout such as the fact that not even a portion of the investment was guaranteed and that if there was a loss Zigg would have to share in the debt.

Zeke read the contract nodded repeatedly took a fountain pen out of his pocket and was about to sign it.

Vincenzo gulped as he saw Zig about to sign the contract.

But just before signing Zeke raised his head as if something occurred to him.

“Oh come to your senses. I was going to show you this when I met Rossi today and it turned out really well since Dario is here.”

Then he lowered his voice and spoke to Vincenzo and Dario.

“Actually it’s not widely known outside. Before I invested in the Mithril mine there was another place where I made money.”

Vincenzo perked up his ears at Zeke’s words.

“Are you saying that you did other business besides mining?”

Zeke took something out of his pocket.

It was a box encrusted with jewels and when I opened the lid there was a beautifully decorated necklace inside.

Vincenzo looked at the necklace and was surprised.

    “This. Isn’t it an artifact?”

    Zeke nodded.

“Yes. Actually I happened to buy a mountain a few years ago and discovered a dungeon inside.”

    Vincenzo asked Zeke in surprise.

“Are you saying that this artifact came from there?”

“Yes that’s right. I’m just telling you two… That place was none other than the ruins of the Golden Age.”

Dario’s eyebrows twitched as he listened to Zeke’s words from behind.

The moment you discover the ruins of the Golden Age your life will literally change.

The relics and artifacts pouring out from it were of incomparable value to the ore.

Zeke lowered his voice again and spoke.

“I was secretly using people to explore dungeons and I kept finding valuable artifacts. I was able to cash them out by sending them to the Dorta Auction House through someone I know but there’s a limit to this. If they were to investigate the source of my funds by mistake that would be tiring.”

Before they knew it Dario and Vincenzo were lost in what Zig had to say.

Dario who had been listening to the story from behind opened his mouth.

“Why did you bring that up?”

Zig chuckled to himself and got back to the main point.

“I discovered something new while exploring a dungeon… and that dungeon was a double dungeon.”

    Vincenzo was surprised.

“If it’s a double dungeon doesn’t that mean there are older ancient ruins underground?”

    Zeke nodded.

“Yes. I deciphered some of the steles I found there and found some strange information. There was talk of immortality. There was talk of an elder dragon. I thought there was something there.”

At Zeke’s words Dario flinched for a moment and reacted then jumped up from his seat.

    ‘Did I get caught?’

It was possible that Dario noticed because the words were so direct.

Zeke watched Dario’s actions nervously. Fortunately Dario sat back down with his eyes sparkling.

    He said to Zeke.

    “Please continue talking.”

“I’m trying to dig deeper but it seems like it’s impossible to excavate with a small expedition team so it seems like a large-scale operation is needed. However I’ve already sold the relics in front as stolen goods and I’m concerned about the authorities’ reaction if I do a large-scale construction so I wanted to ask for your advice.”

Dario and Vincenzo exchanged glances at Zeke’s words. After a while Dario stood up.

“Mr. Murray come out here for a moment and talk to me privately.”

Dario took Zeke inside the room.

Inside the room there were guards and knights who appeared to be Bloodline ability users.

    Dario gestured to them.

    “Stay out.”

    Then the escorts were embarrassed.

    “Boss but…..”

Dario gestured with his eyes sharp and all the knights and guards eventually left the room.

    Dario said to Zeke.

    “Would you like a drink?”

    “Of course.”

Dario brought a glass of whiskey from the bar on one side.

The two men clinked their glasses and drank the whiskey.

    Dario spoke first.

    “Zeke Murray. You surprise me.”

Zeke scratched his head with an awkward expression.

“I’m sorry if I startled you. I just wanted to ask for your help Dario…”

“Do you know what I do?”

    Then Zeke answered in confusion.

“Of course. You have the most mines on the continent…”

“My real name is Dario Nostril.”

At those words Zeke looked blank for a moment. Then his face turned pale.

Dario chuckled after seeing Zeke’s reaction.

“It seems like you’re not completely ignorant about this.”

“Dad Dario. No. Don Dario. I just have a good heart…”

    “I like it.”

    “yes?”

Zigg was startled for a moment by Dario’s words.

    He continued.

“Zeke Murray you showed me sincerity. There’s a shortage of genuine people these days.”

    “That’s right Don Dario.”

“I want to repay the sincerity you showed me. I will solve the double dungeon problem you mentioned earlier.”

Zig smiled brightly at Dario’s words.

    “Thank you!”

    “Where is the dungeon located?”

“It’s located in the central region of Alencia my hometown. It has nothing to do with Argos where dungeons are mainly found. It’s just an ordinary neighborhood mountain.”

“The most amazing things that can turn the world upside down tend to happen in such ordinary places.”

Dario smiled and poured more whiskey into the glass.

“Don’t worry about the Kingdom of Alencia or the Treasury. No one handles taxes as expertly as we do.”

Zeke nodded wiping the cold sweat with his sleeve.

“That’s really great. Thank you very much Don Dario.”

Then Dario suddenly lowered his voice and spoke.

“Instead we will take the relics from that double dungeon.”

Zeke looked puzzled at Dario’s words.

“What do you mean by that?”

“Greed always brings trouble. Only a fool desires what he should not have. Are you a fool?”

He picked up his glass of whiskey took a sip and continued speaking.

“I believe you will show sincerity and trust in proportion to the tokens of friendship I have shown you. If not….”

Dario said stroking the ring on his finger.

“I feel like something very unpleasant is going to happen.”

The moment Dario revealed that he was a member of the Nostra Family he had already decided to take away the dungeon that Zeke had mentioned.

Zeek’s hands trembled as he heard his words.

It was the kind of behavior an ordinary businessman would display in front of a giant mafia boss.

Zeke answered with a trembling voice.

    “…Okay Don Dario.”

Dario smiled with satisfaction and spoke again in a soft voice.

“Okay. Then let’s rewrite the contract.”

Then he walked up to the bar and pressed a button.

The liquor display case opened wide and a safe appeared inside.

Dario aligned his pupils with his own authenticated the magical security and opened the safe.

Inside there were countless contracts including secret ledgers.

These were contracts that forcibly took away rights and shares from others.

Dario took a contract from the safe and held it out in front of Zeke.

Zeke swallowed dryly as he looked at the contract.

    ‘Vow of Silence.’
