A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 163
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 163
‘Is that him?’
It seemed as if the shaman was communicating through the spirit of the tree.
Zeke looked around with the eyes of the dragon to see if there were any sorcerers around.
But the sorcerer was nowhere to be seen.
‘I need to pull it in a little further.’
The effect of the fire wall that Arin had been deploying ended and the fog began to seep in again.
Zeke shouted to Rick’s group.
“Claire! Shoot the fire arrows! Rick protect Arin while she recovers her magic! Jason! Cover her while conserving your magic!”
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Claire continued to fire fire arrows into the fog to keep the tree ghosts from approaching.
Tsk tsk tsk tsk―
But the fog gradually penetrated further and further into the cave.
Claire who was shooting a fire arrow spoke urgently.
“I’m almost out of arrows!”
Zeke shouted at Jason.
“Jason! Collapse the cave!”
Jason unleashed the magic he had been preparing.
“Rock Buster!”
As the 3rd circle magic Rock Buster was unleashed the rock at the top of the cave exploded.
Kwarrrrrrung!
A pile of debris from the exploded rock lay in front of the cave above the wooden wraith.
Zeke and his party were suddenly trapped in a cave but thankfully the tree ghost was completely buried under a pile of rocks.
Jason looked at the pile of rocks sweat dripping down his face.
“Is it okay?”
Zeke was inwardly amazed as he watched Jason perform the three-circle magic in an instant.

‘At that age he can use 3-circle magic without any warning. What kind of party is this?’
A 3-circle swordsman with no spear and a swordsman who has mastered the Five Light Sword Techniques.
Arin and Claire were also showing off their skills that were equally outstanding so Zeke couldn’t help but find it amazing.
It seemed like there was a hidden history that Zeke didn’t know about.
Claire sat down with a sigh of relief at the sight of the completely collapsed pile of rocks.
“I came to catch a sorcerer and this is what I’m going through. I knew this would happen when that cheapskate Graham asked for a lot of money.”
Jason snorted as he looked at Claire like that.
“Who was that guy who got so excited after receiving the advance payment that he changed his entire bow set?”
“Jason will you please shut up? You’re best off keeping your mouth shut.”
Rick was still escorting Arin without letting up.
Arin who had been meditating to recover her magical powers slowly opened her eyes.
“Has the ghost disappeared?”
Jason chuckled and pointed to the piled rocks.
“Even a ghost would be completely crushed by that.”
That was when.
Suddenly something popped out from between the rocks.
puck!
A piece of wood flew towards Arin and Rick who was nearby jumped in and blocked it with his body.
“Cough!”
A piece of wood became lodged in Rick’s shoulder.
At the same time pieces of wood came flying in from the crevices of the rocks.
Shushu shushuk!
Zeke stepped forward and swung his sword slicing the pieces apart as he shouted.
“Get back! Jason! Get cover! Everybody get behind it!”
Jason quickly squeezed out his magic power and created a wall.
Arin and Claire dragged the fallen Rick and hid behind the wall.
“Eww!”
Rick groaned in pain.
Arin took off Rick’s armor tore off his shirt and examined his wounds.
The pieces of wood embedded in my skin were taking root and spreading throughout my body.
Claire pulled out a dagger.
“Fuck. If we don’t get this out soon Rick’s going to die.”
Arin held onto Rick’s body tightly.
Claire stabbed the dagger into Rick’s wound.
puck!
The stuck piece of wood had already taken root quite far so even poking the wound with a dagger would not remove it.
“Eeeeek!”

Rick twisted his whole body as if in pain.
Then Zeke took something out of his bosom and threw it at Arin.
“Spray this on the wound!”
What Zeke handed over was none other than a bottle containing Hwaryeongju.
Arin sprinkled fire spirits on Rick’s wounds.
Then he felt the tree roots embedded in Rick’s wounds begin to move.
Zeke shouted at Arin.
“Light a fire there!”
Arin was startled by those words.
“You want to light a fire? Then Rick….”
As Arin hesitated Claire who was next to her took out a flint from her bosom.
“Whether I die by burning or being cursed I might as well do something since I’m going to die anyway!”
Exactly!
As soon as Rick’s wound sparked with the Hwaryeongju a fire immediately broke out nearby.
Whoosh whoosh!
That was when.
The piece of wood that was deeply embedded in the wound began to wiggle and crawl out of the wound on its own.
Arin grabbed the piece of wood that had crawled out.
“th!”
Whoosh! Whoosh!
As Erin’s magic burned all the pieces of wood Claire swung her clothes and quickly put out the fire on Rick’s body.
“All done! The roots have all grown!”
Arin took out the potion she had prepared in advance and poured it on Rick’s wound.
Cheeeeek!
As the bubbles rose Rick’s wounds began to heal.
The fire was put out but the problem was just starting.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Tree trunks began to grow through the crevices between the rocks.
Then slowly the rocks split and the pile of stones collapsed.
Jason gritted his teeth at the sight.
“A tree splits a rock? Where is this law!”
It was absurd to expect a ghost to follow the laws of the world.
Eventually a crack appeared in the huge rock blocking the way.
Kwarrrrung!
The rock collapsed and fog flowed out from within.
At the same time tree trunks began to squirm and crawl out.
Zig aimed his sword at the tree trunks.
“Come and see. I’ll cut them all down.”
Then a tree trunk sprouted from under Zeke’s feet.
Chorrrrrr!
A tree trunk wrapped around Zeke’s ankles and then a thick tree trunk flew in from the front and entangled Bahamut his arms and his torso.
“Eww!”
Zig was tied tightly to a tree trunk and couldn’t move.
Krrrrrrrr!
Again the strange laughter echoed throughout the cave.
With the Strong Mental Defense buff gone Jason and Rick’s group all fell to the ground covering their ears again.
Even Zig who was caught on the tree trunk gradually lost strength and ended up dropping his sword.
“Euuuuuuu!”
As Zeke groaned in pain the ghost of an evil tree emerged from within the hollow rock.
Kookookookookook!
The tree ghost spewed out mist with every breath.
Zeke gritted his teeth as he glared at the ghost.
“I’ll cut you down right now…”
Zeke struggled to free himself from the tree trunk that had wrapped around his body but he was unable to do so.
The tree ghost slowly approached Zig.
“You dare to follow me. You insolent bastards. I will inflict upon you a pain that will make even death seem like mercy.”
In an instant the trunk that formed the tree ghost’s body gave way and a small person appeared within it.
His back was bent his hair was thinning and his face was covered in freckles.
The ugly-looking Noh-gwae twisted his lips and smiled as he looked at the motionless Zik and his group.
“I will play with you until you are tired of it and then use you as a cursed sacrifice. I will make sure that you pay a heavy price for daring to follow in the footsteps of the great sorcerer Dusk.”
Dusk walked towards the fallen Rick and his group leaning on his cane.
He licked his thin lips with his tongue as he looked at the young man and woman lying there.
“These are pretty good ingredients. It’ll be fun to play with them. Wait a minute. Are those women and men sympathetic? Yes this definitely smells like sympathy! Very good! With this level of sacrifice I could summon a great ghost…!”
Push!
“Huh!”
Dusk was startled when he saw the dagger piercing his shoulder.
“Uh how?”
Before he knew it Zeke had released the tree trunk and was approaching Dusk with Bahamut in his hand.
“That damned rat sorcerer. He was hiding in the phantom so I couldn’t find him.”
Zeke threw the deep breath of the flame giant he was holding in his hand at the tree ghost.
As soon as the potion bottle broke and its contents touched the body of the wooden wraith a huge fire broke out.
Keeeeeeeeeee―
The deep breath of the flame giant which never goes out once it catches on burned the body of the evil tree ghost.
Dusk opened his mouth wide at the sight.
“Oh no! How much sacrifice was offered to capture that ancient ghost!”
Dusk pointed his staff at Zeke.
Tsk tsk tsk―
An ominous aura rose from Dusk’s shadow and soon shot towards Zeke’s body.
The energy soon enveloped Zeke’s body and Dusk attempted to control the cursed spirits to spread the plague energy throughout Zeke’s body.
But something was strange.
Kieeeeeek―
The ghosts that were trying to cling to Zeke were being bounced off and returned to him.
“What what!”
Dusk’s curse did not work on Zeke who had the curse reflection skill.
Rather it was Dusk who was attacked by the ghosts he had summoned.
“Ugh!”
Dusk swung his staff sending the wraith he had summoned back into the shadows.
He ground his teeth as he looked at Zeke.
“What on earth are you!”
Zeke looked at the ugly Dusk’s face and confirmed that it was the ancient sorcerer he had captured in his past life.
He cleared his throat and shouted at Dusk.
“Did you think you could get away with putting a curse on Graham’s daughter?”
Dusk’s ugly face distorted at Zeke’s words.
‘Damn it. How did Graham know I put a curse on him?’
I had heard rumors that the curse he had placed on Angelina Graham had been lifted but I never thought they would track it down.
Zeke said aiming at Bahamut.
“I have a few questions for you so answer politely.”
Then Dusk curled his lips revealing the few yellow teeth he had left.
“Graham’s dog. Do you think you can catch the great Dusk?”
Woof woof woof―
An ominous aura rose around his body.
Zeke could feel that the power Dusk was using was some kind of magic.
Soon a huge black dog rose from his shadow.
Krrrrrrrr―
In myths and legends black dogs symbolize death.
A black dog with a terrible aura of death in its eyes approached Zeke with glowing red eyes.
“You will never escape death for you have come face to face with the cursed black dog.”
The black dog charged at Zeke baring its teeth.
At that moment when it seemed as if his neck would be ripped off at any moment Zeke grabbed the neck of the black dog that was rushing towards him with his bare hands.
Squeak!
The black dog in Zeke’s hands struggled and resisted fiercely but it was unable to escape Zeke’s grasp.
Before I knew it not only the Black Dog but even Dusk was trembling.
‘Why why are you like this?’
Even the dogs of death felt intimidated by the dragon’s aura emanating from Zeke’s body and were unable to even think of resisting.
Dusk stepped back in confusion as he saw Zeke subduing the black dog with one hand.
“That’s ridiculous.”
Dusk took a step back in surprise but then took something out of his bosom and threw it at Zeke.
Whee!
The flying bottle broke and something stirred on the floor.
The disgusting flesh began to writhe and produce tentacle-like things.
Zeke frowned when he saw that.
“Was this also a curse you cast?”
It was the same parasite that had been attached to the body of none other than Salmak’s youngest disciple Iraman.
Choaaaak!
The parasite suddenly rose up and tried to pounce on Zeke. It was trying to parasitize his body.
Zig lifted the black dog he was holding to block the parasite.
Keeek!
The parasite quickly fell out of the black dog’s body which was imbued with the aura of death.
Zeke summoned the Holy Fire.
Whoosh whoosh!
The black dog he was holding as well as the parasites crawling on the floor were all destroyed by the flames of the Holy Fire.
Cheeeeeeek―
Black smoke and ash scattered around.
Dusk who had no idea that both attacks would be blocked sat down with a bewildered expression.
Zeke slowly approached him. Dusk felt an instinctive fear from him.
“Please save me.”
Clang!
A chain emerged from Zeke’s left arm and bound Dusk’s body.
“Huh!”
Zeke said as he looked at the bound Dusk.
“You should think carefully before you speak. That way you can die with a little less pain.”
The sacred fire that had been circling around Zeke’s body grew in size and spun around in front of Dusk’s eyes.
“Eeeeeeeee!”
Dusk who felt the magic of light that was in conflict with the cursed power he possessed was paralyzed with fear.
Whoosh whoosh!
Zig grabbed Dusk’s energy with his torch and held onto the chain as he chanted.
“Lightning.”
Pfft pfft pfft!
The power of lightning penetrated Dusk’s body as he rode the soul sealing technique.
“Krrrrrrr!”
Dusk was knocked unconscious by the lightning skill. But this was not the end for Zigg.
He buffed Dusk with the infinite stamina skill.
“omg!”
Dusk who had woken up with renewed energy looked at Zeke with a terrified expression.
Zeke took a potion bottle out of his bosom.
He said looking at Dusk.
“You said that even death can be felt as mercy. That’s a good point.”
He forced the potion vial into Dusk’s mouth.
“Eeeeeeeee!”
A moment later Dusk’s terrible scream echoed through the cave.
