A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 156
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 156
‘Bahamut?’
Sieg who was listening to Claudia’s words inside Siegfried’s body was startled.
She was now speaking in dragon language as Bahamut the Ruler of Sunset not as Claudia Luverne.
“I Bahamut will give Siegfried a new name and make a soul contract with him.”
Wooooow!
Bahamut grabbed Siegfried and continued speaking.
“His new name is Terrakan. By the ancient oath our souls will be linked as one and it will be in the name of the great Elder Dragon.”
Bahamut shouted to Siegfried.
“Answer quickly! I accept the contract!”
However Siegfried was on the verge of death because of the power of the Holy Grail.
Bahamut shouted urgently.
“hurry!”
Perhaps because of her strong wish Siegfried barely nodded his head as he faced death.
Woof woof woof!
Soul chains emerged from Bahamut and Siegfried’s hearts and connected them.
Sieg who was in Siegfried’s consciousness could see this scene in its entirety.
At that moment a message appeared before Zeke’s eyes.
[The ‘Dragon’s Contract’ is imprinted on the user’s soul.]
[The power of the Draker bloodline ‘Blood of the Fighter’ awakens.]
[Some of the powers of the ‘Splendid Light’ absorbed from the ‘Fairy King’s Cup Containing Splendid Light’ are activated.]
[The skill ‘Full Recovery’ is granted through authority.]
[Awakened talents combine with each other.]
[A new class has been formed through the combination of rare talents.]
[Acquire the unique class ‘Immortal’.]
Zeke looked at the floating message and realized that his prediction was correct.

‘Terracan Draker is indeed an immortal class.’
Zeke obtained the unique class Immortal by combining the blessing of the Elder Dragon and the power of the Draker bloodline a talent of the healer class.
And in contrast in the case of Terracan Draker the power of the Fairy King contained in the Holy Grail and the contract with Bahamut worked to create an immortal class.
Woohoo!
Only then did the power of the Holy Grail begin to work properly and Siegfried’s body was completely restored in no time.
Siegfried opened his eyes.
Claudia looked at him and said.
“Are you okay? Zeke?”
Siegfried slowly opened his mouth as he looked at Claudia.
“I… am not dead.”
“Yeah. He’s not dead.”
Siegfried slowly got up.
He raised his body completely and put his hand on his heart and said.
“What happened?”
Claudia’s expression darkened at Siegfried’s words.
“Actually there’s something I haven’t told you.”
Siegfried said in a nonchalant voice looking at her serious face.
“Are you saying you’re a dragon?”
Then Claudia was surprised.
“How about that…? Were you conscious when you signed the contract earlier?”
Siegfried chuckled at those words.
“How can you not be suspicious when he keeps saying that he wants to kill all humans that he hates them and that he talks about things that happened hundreds of years ago as if they happened yesterday?”
Claudia looked embarrassed at Siegfried’s words.
“So you knew I was a dragon and still hung out with me?”
“I was hesitant. The dragons have long since disappeared. I was also uneasy as if I were leaving you alone like a child who doesn’t know anything on the shore.”
“What? You have such an impious thought when you see me a member of a great race?”
Claudia’s expression which had been muttering darkened again in an instant.
“No it’s not Zeke. It’s Terracan now. A contract with a dragon actually comes with a huge price. So it has to be decided very carefully…”
“I know how a contract with a dragon is made. It binds your soul and mine as one. And it also means that while the contract is in effect you cannot return to being a dragon.”
Claudia nodded silently at Siegfried’s words and spoke while holding up the broken sun emblem.
“The Dragon Clan can no longer interfere with the phenomenal world. However I could not remain silent because I knew the fate that would come in the future. So in order to change that future I put a ban on myself and transformed into a human and came down here.”
“So that’s what it meant to change fate by destroying the holy relic.”
“That’s right. The prophecy said that a human who gained immortal powers would cause chaos in the world.”
“I thought that if I destroyed the Holy Grail that could grant immortality the prophecy itself would not come true.”
“Yes. So I brought the Holy Grail out of the Ark where it had been kept safe for hundreds of years and I used it to save you from death.”
Siegfried smiled bitterly at those words.
“You have gained immortal powers. Do you think I will cause chaos in the world?”

Claudia shook her head.
“I don’t know. Prophecy is always uncertain.”
She said looking at Siegfried.
“Terracan. I have something to tell you.”
She spoke as she faced Siegfried who was now called Terracan.
“There was a prophecy. It was a prophecy of a terrible future.”
Claudia’s eyes wavered.
She opened her mouth slowly.
“The Demon King will rise again. I saw that future. To stop it….”
Zeke listened to Claudia’s words from inside Terracan’s body.
That was when.

The view seen through Terracan’s eyes gradually became blurred as if there was noise.
‘Damn it. Just a little more…!’
Without being able to hear Claudia properly the vision of the Terracan that Zeke had borrowed completely went black.
And then it felt like someone was pulling Zeke’s body.
Choaaaah!
He went backwards through the sea of memories at an incredible speed.
“Eeeeeeeeeee!”
Passing through countless fragments of memories Zig rose quickly onto the shining surface of the water.
And again my eyes were filled with light.
* * *
“ah.”
When he opened his eyes Zeke was inside the ark holding the Holy Grail.
After looking into the memories of Terracan and Bahamut related to the Holy Grail we return to reality.
Through memories of the past Zeke learns details of the story that even the hermit did not know.
“Claudia Luverne was Bahamut.”
A lover of Terracan Draker and a soul-binding contract.
But in another memory from the past Zeke clearly saw Terrakan Draker stabbing the cursed dragon Bahamut with his sword.
Zeke looked at the sword made from his fangs thinking of the heart of Bahamut inside his own body.
“The cursed dragon died leaving behind his own heart and fangs.”
It seemed difficult to see it as a mere coincidence that Zeke himself was an immortal class like Terracan Draker and had the heart and fangs of Bahamut which were his contractual weapons.
Zeke thought for a moment and then took out the watch his mother Laura Agamemnon had left behind.
Her mother who resembles Claudia Luverne was an Irregular with the power of prophecy.
‘Did my mother know that I would become an immortal and continue the legacy of the Terracan Draker?’
Zeke who had been living a miserable life returned to life again after accidentally obtaining an artifact from the Elder Dragon.
He shook his head as he put away his watch.
“You won’t find an answer even if you think about it. If you go to the temple of Cronus in Aten and receive power you’ll be able to understand something.”
Although I was reluctant to go to Aten since it was the domain of the Nirvana family I felt I had to visit at least once to resolve my doubts.
Zeke placed the Holy Grail in his inventory and attempted to leave the ark.
But then a message window appeared before Zeke’s eyes.
[1 admin record video available for viewing]
[Recorder Terracan Draker.]
As in the temple of the Join tribe there was a recorded video of the Terracan Draker.
Zik played the video.
Then one of the crystals in the wheelhouse began to glow and a huge screen appeared.
Someone appeared on the screen.
A middle-aged man with gray hair and a thick beard on his face.
The man with the squinty eyes seemed to have no will to live.
Zeke knew who he was immediately.
‘Terracan Draker.’
Zeke felt that the Terracan Draker on the screen somehow resembled his father Arthur Draker.
Soon the man turned his gaze towards the screen and opened his mouth.
“I’m already so tired.”
It felt completely different from the appearance of Terracan Draker I had seen in the memories of the Holy Grail.
Terracan Draker seemed tired of living as if he was forcibly continuing the life of someone who had already died.
He opened his mouth slowly.
“Her last request was that the Holy Grail be placed here after everything was over. Yes… this is the last.”
In the video Terracan had his head bowed and was staring blankly with unfocused eyes.
Then at some point he slowly got up from his seat.
At the same time Terracan put his face on the screen.
Zeke could catch a glimpse of madness in Terracan’s dark abyss-like eyes in the video.
Terracan looked into the distance and muttered something.
“If only I had that… Yes. If only I had that I could find her again. If I go there through the Dark Sea… ”
‘It’s dark?’
Terracan who had been muttering suddenly turned his head and stared intently at the video.
It was as if Terracan had leapt through time and was looking at Zeke as he watched this video.
Terracan spoke to Zeke.
“If you stare at the monster in the abyss for too long you yourself will eventually become a monster.”
Then his pupils gradually changed.
Terracan whose eyes had turned golden slowly recited.
“When did I become a monster…?”
ping-
The video ended there.
Zeke recalled the changed eyes of the last Terracan Draker.
“Yong-an?”
Like Zeke’s left eye Terracan Draker also had a dragon’s eye that glowed golden.
After receiving the title of Yongin Zig’s Yong-an was manifested but in Terracan’s case it was unknown what happened.
“If you look at a monster for too long you will become a monster yourself.”
Zeke thought about what Terracan Draker had been muttering and the word ‘dark sea’ came to mind.
“Wait a minute it’s dark. Could it be that Terracan Draker went there?”
If you cross the Central Sea from the Central Continent and go east you will find the Eastern Empire.
After the war of invasion by the Eastern Empire 20 years ago exchanges were cut off for a while.
Recently there has been an increase in exchanges between the Republic of Dorta and Aten of Nirvana.
However the Eastern Empire ruled by the Sultan was still an unknown world to the people of the Central Continent.
Even more unknown than the Eastern Empire was the Dark Sea located across the western sea of the Central Continent.
This place was like an unknown world an area that no one could approach.
Zeke had heard about the Dark Sea from his previous life’s teacher Nigel the Forest Hermit.
And the Master said to Zeke:
‘The Dark Sea is a place where you literally never know what will happen. Going there is just a waste of time.’
It was while Zeke was staying in the Forest of the Forgotten that he first heard his Master speak in that way.
It was a dark sea that even the Master a member of the High Table would say so so Zeke had never even thought about going there.
However it seemed that Terrakan Draker was trying to go ‘somewhere’ beyond the Dark Sea in order to revive Bahamut.
“What on earth is beyond the Dark Sea?”
In fact from Zeke’s point of view it didn’t really matter what Terracan Draker did in the Dark Sea.
Ultimately the question was whether the content was important to Zeke himself.
‘I’m a bit worried that I’ll keep getting involved with Terracan Draker after becoming the heir. I guess I’ll just have to take what I need.’
In any case thanks to the title ‘Heir of the Terracan Draker’ he inherited most of the dragon slayer’s legacy.
Zeke decided to think positively and decided that he had gained everything he could from this place so he tried to leave the ark.
But then a message appeared before Zeke’s eyes again.
[The Ark’s auto-setup portal is working.]
[Forcibly moves the heir to the set coordinates.]
Zig looked dumbfounded when he saw the message.
“Forced movement? Wait a minute….”
Before Zeke could finish speaking the portal activated.
Wooooow!
The giant crystal ball attached to the ceiling of the wheelhouse began to glow and Zeke’s body was enveloped in a halo of light.
“Euuuuuu!”
The wheelhouse was filled with light.
When the light faded Zeke was no longer in the wheelhouse.
* * *
Hooooooooooo!
When Zeke opened his eyes what he saw was a white snowy field.
‘Here…?’
Sharp peaks like blades stretched out endlessly.
Zeke realized where he was.
“Ice Mountains?”
It was the Ice Dragon Valley the deepest part of the Ice Mountains.
Zig recognized the Ice Dragon Valley and was confused.
‘Why here?’
This was none other than the place where Zeke discovered the Elder Dragon’s relics and was killed while being chased by hounds.
Wheeing!
Suddenly a snowstorm started to fall.
The weather in the North has always been unpredictable.
Zeke looked around in the flurry of snow and discovered something.
‘That’s?’
A flag with a giant wolf emblem on it.
It was the symbol of the Northern Duke.
