    Episode 150

Zeke spoke to the girl standing next to him.

“It’s so horrible I’d rather not see it.”

Despite Zeke’s words the girl did not take her eyes off the cardinal screaming in pain.

    She asked Zeke.

    “Did God punish that person?”

At those words Zeke shook his head.

“It was not God but my own greed and desire that made this happen. I was the one who brought about the suffering.”

Then the girl looked up at Zeke again and asked.

“Then are you a new knight?”

    Zeke shook his head again.

“No I am not a god. I am just a human like you.”

The girl looked up at Zeke and said.

“The god with black eyes said he would save us.”

Before he knew it the cardinal had completely melted under the power of corruption and was nowhere to be found.

Zeke shook his hands knelt down and spoke to the girl getting eye level with her.

    “Who said that?”

The girl said with a calm expression.

“I don’t know. But the kids who were locked up in the monastery all know. They always talk about the black-eyed god.”

Zik grabbed the girl’s shoulder and said.

“I’m not that great. Anyway… I’m glad I saved you. Otherwise Princess Arina would have been very sad.”

Zeke took the girl and approached the children of Luverne.

    He said to Boris.

“First I think it would be good to feed the kids something.”

Zeke set up a base camp away from the area where the brutal battle took place.

Since there was no one chasing Zeke right now we were able to light a fire and prepare some food comfortably.

The children warmed themselves by the warm fire.

Zik cooked some soft soup and served it to the children.

The children ate the soup slowly with curious eyes.

After a while the children spoke actively with sparkling eyes.

    “Wow! This is really delicious.”

“Try this bread too! It’s so soft and delicious!”

It was a convenient meal that was specially ordered from a chef and kept in the inventory so it might be tastier than regular combat rations but objectively it wasn’t that great of a taste.

Zeke could gauge how well they were treated in the Holy Kingdom by watching the children exclaim in admiration as they tasted their soup.

The children ate their fill of the food Zeke had given them and fell asleep in the soft sleeping bags he had prepared for them.

As the girl got into her sleeping bag she looked at Zeke and said.

“Sir you’re really not going to take us back to the monastery are you?”

Zeke nodded stroking the girl’s head.

“Yes. I will take you to a place with more delicious food and softer beds than what you ate today. There will also be an adult from the Luverne clan there and he will take good care of you.”

The girl held Zeke’s hand tightly.

He didn’t let go of Zeke’s hand as if trying to confirm that this situation wasn’t a dream.

Zeke held the girl’s hand until she fell asleep.

He made sure the children were all asleep and told Boris.

“Boris we must get those children safely to Mycenae.”

    “Okay boss. But…..”

Boris looked at Zeke with a surprised expression.

“I didn’t know the boss cared about children.”

Zeke smiled bitterly at Boris’ words.

    “Stop talking nonsense.”

In his previous life when he was working as a hitman for a cartel Zeke literally worked like a dog for Don Juan.

Regardless of whether they were old or young if Don Juan wanted to kill them he would kill them without hesitation.

Returning to the past all the atrocities Zeke committed were forgotten but the terrible memories from back then did not disappear.

‘I don’t think I can atone for those kids like this.’

I had the feeling that it was nothing more than a hypocrisy on Zeke’s part to make himself feel comfortable.

    * * *

The next day Boris took the children of Luverne out of the cave.

The girl looked back until the end holding Zeke in her eyes.

After Boris took the children of Luverne out Zeke who had been watching them went back into the cave and stood in front of the door.

The stone statue still stood in front of the door.

Zig approached the statue and spoke.

    “Summoned.”

At Zeke’s command a magic circle rose from the guardians’ bodies and then disappeared into light.

Before the Holy Kingdom forces arrived Zeke had already opened the door and entered facing the Guardians.

He recognized the access code hidden in the Guardians’ core controlled it through the system registered it as a summon and opened the door to face the Paladins.

    [Unsummons the summoner Idas Linkeus.]

    [Enters hibernation to recover itself.]

Idas Linkeus newly registered along with Guardian Horus discovered in the Temple of the Join Tribe was also left in safe mode for a long time and needed a period of self-recovery.

After finishing cleaning up the guardians Zeke went inside the door.

As soon as he entered the huge door slowly closed.

    * * *

After Zeke entered the door and some time had passed a huge figure wearing black robes appeared.

He opened his mouth as he looked at the corpses of the dead paladins lying in front of the door.

    “It’s a mess.”

After that others wearing ashen robes appeared as expected.

They spoke to the one in the middle taking a respectful attitude.

“Apostle we will definitely steal the holy relics. Don’t worry…”

Then suddenly the one called Apostle turned around and stretched out his hand.

    “Huh!”

Four Inyoungs in ash-gray robes rose into the air gasping for breath.

The apostle looked at them and said

“You have lost precious vessels in the land of the South. Moreover you have carelessly used the power of the retinue which must not be revealed to the world.”

    “Ke…keke! Oh my lord… please be angry….”

As the apostle withdrew his hand again the robed figures fell to the floor.

The apostle’s eyes revealed through his black robes looked like those of a reptile.

The wizards of the Abyss trembled and cowered in fear as they faced the Apostle’s red eyes.

He took something out of his bosom his eyes glowing with an ominous red.

The apostle buried two black beads in the ground.

Then he started reciting the spell.

    “??????????????????????????????”

As he recited the spell made in the Demon Realm black mist rose from his body.

The blooming azalea flowers have seeped into the ground.

    Kkudddddddddd!

Then something began to bubble and grow rapidly under the ground.

The two lumps of black ooze and unidentified flesh grew in size and soon became much larger than a person.

    “Ohhh!”

The ashen-robed warlocks behind them gasped at the sight of two fleshy masses growing from the ground.

The apostle extended his hand toward the flesh and recited the spell again.

Then this time two black ghosts crawled out from under the ground.

The apostle muttered in a low voice towards the ghost approaching him.

    “O fallen power of death.”

Following the apostle’s guidance the black spectres each entered the flesh.

As the ghosts entered the huge mass of flesh began to pulse like a living heart.

    Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The apostle approached the mass of flesh chanted a spell and took out a black dagger from his bosom.

The dagger engraved with a grotesque demonic image was imbued with an ominous power.

The apostle aimed his dagger at the pulsating flesh.

“I give new power to the fallen death.”

At the same time the apostle tore apart a piece of flesh.

    Choaaaak!

Black liquid poured out from the split flesh as if a water bag had burst.

The ashen robed warlocks watching from behind gulped.

    Ki-ki-ki-ki-ki-ki!

Then something began to walk out of the split flesh making a strange noise.

A skeleton knight in black armor walked out carrying a sword and shield.

    “That’s it!”

The ashen robed warlocks were shocked with their faces turned pale.

    ‘Death Knight!’

The Death Knight a corrupted ghost knight who exists at the pinnacle of the undead has appeared in the mortal world.

    But it didn’t end there.

The apostle cut another chunk of flesh with his dagger.

A being making a strange noise walked out from within.

An undead wearing an old robe with a rusty crown on its head and two jewels set into its eyes.

    “Ah Arkrich!”

Death Knight and Archlich approached the Apostle and knelt before him.

A dark voice came from the Death Knight.

“My name is Luis Marchisio. I offer the sword of worship and praise to the Apostle of Death and Darkness.”

Then Arkrich also said his name.

“My name is Verdi Albicchi. I offer blood-stained glory to the apostle of death and darkness.”

The apostle spoke to Louis and Verdi who had become Death Knight and Arch Lich.

“The great power of darkness has granted you new life. Will you swear allegiance to Him who sleeps beyond the abyss?”

“I swear on my fallen sword and shield.”

“I swear by my tainted intellect and sincerity.”

“Good. The one who brutally murdered you is inside. Go and avenge the blood that corrupted your soul and killed you.”

Death Knight and Arch Lich spoke at the same time their eyes shining.

“I will offer the blood and soul of my enemies to the apostles.”

Death Knight and Archlich rose from their seats.

Then Archlich reached out his hand towards the corpses of the dead Paladins.

    Wooooow!

An ominous aura emanated from his fallen nature.

    Kkwadduk!

An ominous aura enveloped the corpses of the dead paladins.

Then skeleton knights armed with black armor rose from the Paladin’s corpse.

    Kookung!

Skeleton knights holding swords and shields prostrated themselves before the Death Knight and the Arch Lich.

Archlich used his magic again to summon a ghost horse.

    Krrrrrr!

It was closer to a demon than a horse and had a mane of blue flames.

The Death Knight mounted the ghost horse as skillfully as if it were his own horse.

The warlocks in their ashen robes were left gaping in amazement at the majesty of the undead army that had been created in an instant.

Then the apostle spoke to the magicians.

“Kill Zeke Draker with the Legion of Death and bring him the Holy Relic. If you fail again I will take your souls and offer them as sacrifices to the great constellations.”

The wizards knelt before the apostle in fear.

“I will follow the words of the Apostle!”

The apostle glared at the warlocks then turned around and waved his hand.

Then a black portal appeared in the huge door that had been firmly closed.

    Woohoo!

The legions of the dead slowly entered the black portal.

    That was when.

    Woodduduk!

The body of the apostle who opened the portal suddenly began to twist in a bizarre way.

    “Keuh-uh-uh!”

Suddenly the figure of the apostle wearing black robes disappeared and in his place stood the dark wizard of the abyss his life sucked out of him and his whole body twisted like a mummy.

    “Kuaaaah!”

With a single scream the warlock’s body collapsed and melted away.

    Cheeeeeeek!

The remaining wizards trembled in fear as they watched their fellow wizard turn to blood.

    ‘This mission absolutely cannot fail!’

They entered the ruins before the portal closed.

The legions of the dead were advancing towards Zeke.

    * * *

“How far does this ruins go? It’s endless.”

Zeke walked and walked inside the ruins for a long time in search of the holy relic.

After walking for some time the narrow empty hallway came to an end and a large detailed relief mural appeared on the wall in front of me.

    “Wow what is this?”

It was a mural carved into a solid wall that was over ten meters high.

It was a mural of a different style from the records I had previously seen at the Joinjok ruins.

The mural depicts figures with their bodies facing forward and their faces turned to the side.

    ‘What is this about?’

First Zig took pictures of the relief murals at the Joinjok ruins and stored them in a security storage folder.

As he slowly examined the mural something caught Zeke’s eye.

    “This shape…?”
