    Episode 141

The old man of the mountain led Zeke and Boris back down the long labyrinthine hallway.

After walking down the hallway for a long time they finally reached the room where the youngest disciple was.

The old man on the mountain allowed only Zig to enter the room.

He said to Zeke before he opened the door.

“If it is possible I will accept your request. However if it fails….”

“That’s something you have to figure out.”

    Zeke’s voice was quite confident.

The old man on the mountain felt suspicious of that attitude but he also wanted to trust Zig just once.

It was an inevitable choice as the desperate side was at a disadvantage in the transaction.

The old man on the mountain slowly opened the door.

At the same time a strong fragrance came out from inside.

Incense was rising from braziers placed in every corner of the room.

[Detects sleeping scents containing narcotic ingredients.]

[The constitutional medicine that prevents poisoning detoxifies the sleeping scent.]

Zeke pretended not to know and asked the old man on the mountain.

“Why are you burning so much incense?”

The old man on the mountain frowned and said.

    “You’ll know when you see.”

A young man was lying on the bed inside the room.

He seemed to be around the same age as Zeke but he appeared to have lost consciousness.

At first glance it didn’t look like it was cursed.

At that moment the old man on the mountain lifted the blanket covering the young man.

    “Hmm.”

    Zeke groaned softly.

The young man’s neck and below were horrible.

Dozens of hideous faces were writhing as if monsters had entered under their skin.

The skin was necrotic and pus was oozing from various places.

At a glance it was clear that this was not a simple skin disease but a terrible curse.

“What did the healers and wizards say?”

The old man on the mountain sighed and said.

“He said it was the first time he had seen anything like it. It wasn’t a disease or magic.”

If it wasn’t a disease or magic it was more likely that she was under an ancient spell like Angelina.

Zig looked at the old man on the mountain and said.

“Have you ever heard of a place called Narak?”

The old man on the mountain nodded at those words.

“I don’t know them directly but I’ve heard from people. I’ve heard they’re pretty dirty.”

“I have a feeling that there’s a high probability that this is a curse from the Abyss.”

The old man of the mountain spoke with a suspicious expression at Zeke’s words.

“If you’re just going to use your brain to cause discord then stop. Salmak isn’t a place where you can move with a tongue like that.”

“No it’s really more likely that way. Angelina the youngest daughter of the Graham family was also cursed by an ancient sorcerer from the Abyss at their request.”

“It’s doubtful that the ancient sorcerer is only in the Abyss so it’s a bit suspicious to be so specific.”

“If that’s what you think then so be it. I just said what I thought so judge for yourself.”

Although he said he wasn’t the old man of the mountains he looked troubled after hearing Zig’s words.

Ancient sorcery was a mysterious realm that was difficult to deal with.

Although there were some such sorcerers in the northern continent it was rare to find one who could cast such a powerful curse.

The old man on the mountain clenched his fists as he looked at the marks of the curse on the body of his youngest disciple.

    ‘It’s the abyss.’

Two words were engraved in the mind of the old man on the mountain.

It seems that Zeke’s intention was somewhat accepted.

Zig who was examining the unconscious young man asked the old man on the mountain.

    “What is your disciple’s name?”

    “Only Ira.”

    “Is Ira still unconscious?”

“No I put you to sleep with the sleeping scent on purpose. If I stay awake those hideous things will wake up too.”

“Are those things alive and moving?”

“Yes. They slowly suck the flesh and blood of the host from the inside out and swell their own body.”

Just hearing it made it sound like a terrible curse.

‘Hmm I don’t know if purification will solve it.’

In Angelina’s case the cursed ghost was attached to her and could be removed just by purification but Ira’s situation was different because the cursed parasite was growing directly on her skin.

Zig asked the old man on the mountain.

“Have you ever tried cutting that out of the skin?”

“I tried but gave up. The wizards said that their roots were embedded in every blood vessel and that if they were removed the disciple would die.”

It was a troublesome curse in many ways.

Zig said to the old man on the mountain.

“Get some hot water and a dry towel a sterilized surgical knife and a restraint ready. When you’re ready go out.”

“I will watch from the side.”

“No. The treatment process can be painful. If you see it and stop it your disciple could be in danger.”

The old man on the mountain was worried about leaving Zig alone in his disciple’s room but he had no choice.

After preparing what Zeke wanted he went out.

As soon as the old man left Zik first used restraints to secure the unconscious Iraman’s arms and legs.

“It’ll be a pain if you wake it up and move it so leave it like this.”

Zeke wore the mask of Agamemnon.

First I demonstrated the power of purification.

    Wooooow!

A golden aura flowed into Iraman’s body.

Then the parasites attached to the skin began to wake up and make strange sounds.

    “Euuuuu.”

As the parasite woke up only Ira tried to wake up twisting her body as if in pain.

Zeke took the aura of purification.

Then the parasites became docile again.

‘It seems like it would be difficult to remove it with just purification.’

Unlike Angelina who had the curse attached to her in the form of a phantom it was attached to her body like a parasite so it seemed like surgery would be necessary.

Zick picked up the surgical knife that the old man had prepared.

“It’s been a while since you had surgery.”

In his previous life when Zeke was a Highlander he often went on missions with other Highlanders.

Highlanders all had unique personalities and special skills.

Among them was a Naga wizard who unusually specialized in surgery.

Since Zeke believed that it was good to learn anything he learned simple surgical techniques from him.

Zik picked up surgical knives of various sizes and sterilized them once more with pure fire.

Then he breathed the power of purification into the surgical knife.

    Woohoo!

The surgical knife also had a blade of purification embedded in it emitting a golden aura.

“Okay let’s give it a try.”

Zeke lightly brought the Purification Blade towards the parasite attached to his forearm.

    Tsk tsk tsk―

As soon as the blade touched the parasite’s eyes suddenly opened.

    Heeeeeeek!

The parasite opened its mouth wide and let out a terrible scream.

Then the sleeping parasites began to open their eyes one by one.

Zeke was so shocked that he cut down the screaming man with his knife.

    Crunch!

The severed parasite fell to the floor melting on the ground and emitting a foul odor.

But then a new parasite began to grow and writhe in the cut spot.

“What kind of people are these?”

It seemed like it would continue to grow if you didn’t remove it by the roots.

    “Ugh.”

Only Ira who had lost consciousness groaned as if she was coming to her senses due to the pain.

Zeke took out the Sandman’s sand from his inventory and put Iraman back to sleep.

But the parasites were fully awake writhing on his skin making horrible noises.

Zig thought about it for a while then remembered the Holy Fire that had been tormenting the Demonic Griess Modal a while ago and immediately summoned the Holy Fire.

    Whoosh! Whoosh!

White flames bloomed in front of Zig.

At that moment one of the parasites that had been bathed in the light of the Holy Fire screamed its whole body twisting.

    “It seems to be effective.”

Zeke then used the Blade of Purification to cut off the parasite that was trying to regenerate from his arm and shined the light of the Holy Fire on it.

    Cheeeeeeek!

This time the roots were prevented from growing by the power of light.

Zik checked Iraman’s pulse with his eyes.

There was no problem removing the parasite.

“Okay I get the hang of it.”

Zeke first removed the parasites attached to his arms and legs with the Blade of Purification then burned their roots with the light of the Holy Fire.

Sometimes when blood spurts I use area-of-effect buffs to heal.

The wounds on Ira’s body were completely healed and the bleeding stopped.

After fighting the parasite for over an hour Zeke wiped away the cold sweat.

“Wow Lady Angelina’s curse was poisonous but this one is even worse.”

Almost all of the parasites on his body had been removed leaving only one remaining.

It was the one who was attached to Iraman’s heart.

Examining Iraman’s body through the eyes of the dragon Zeke realized that the thing attached to this heart was spreading other parasites.

‘That guy is the mastermind. If we just get rid of that thing it’ll be solved.’

In other words if we don’t solve that problem the parasites can spread again.

Zeke took a deep breath and placed the Blade of Purification against Iraman’s left chest.

Just in case the sword accidentally stabs the heart I prepared healing and potions so that I could recover at any time.

    Phew!

The blade of purification sliced through Iraman’s lower left chest.

After cutting through his ribs Zeke discovered a hideous parasite attached to his heart.

    “this….”

The situation was more serious than expected.

The parasite was almost completely integrated with the heart pulsating together with it.

Zeke frowned and pondered what to do.

‘If I just cut it off half of my heart would fly away.’

My worries deepened because I didn’t know if healing would even help my heart recover.

“I wish that parasite could fall off on its own…”

Then an idea occurred to Zeke.

    “What if I use Hydra’s venom…?”

A parasite is a living organism that lives in a host sucking its blood and devouring its flesh.

However if a poison that can kill itself spreads throughout the host’s body it is highly likely that it will decide that it can no longer parasitize.

After thinking about it Zeke created Hydra venom on his fingertips.

A few drops of deadly poison formed on his fingertips.

Zig made it so that the poison’s effect would be as slow as possible.

Then he dropped a few drops of Hydra venom into Iraman’s mouth.

The hydra’s venom was seen slowly spreading through Zeke’s eyes.

After a while the parasite curled up inside the heart twisted its body as if it sensed something strange.

    Kieeeeeeeek―

The guy started to root out of his heart and create other parasites.

Then he tried to expel the Hydra venom from Iraman’s body.

However Zeke immediately cut off the parasite that had protruded from his skin with the Blade of Purification.

    Kegegeke …

The parasite which failed to expel the poison gradually felt the poison rising in Iraman’s body.

The poison slowly spread to the heart where the guy was staying.

The poison’s effects were slow but sure.

    Airi’s body was gradually dying.

The parasite attached to the heart writhed in confusion.

Then one of the roots broke off from the heart.

And surprisingly as soon as the root broke off it flew towards Zig.

    Shush!

A sharp root pricked the back of Zig’s hand.

Then it started to wiggle and entered Zeke’s body.

    “Oh look at this.”

It seemed like an instinct to find another host to replace the dying one.

Before long the remaining parasite attached to the heart began to slowly fall off from Iraman’s heart.

The roots which had been almost integrated had separated from the heart.

As soon as the parasite’s roots fell Zeke used healing directly on Iraman.

Then he fed the potion he was holding into his mouth.

    Iriman’s wounds slowly healed.

Zeke immediately extracted the Hydra’s venom from Airiman’s body.

Then he dropped a few drops of venom at the parasite that was crawling up the back of his hand and up to his wrist.

    Kieeeek!

Zig grabbed the parasite with his hand and shouted.

    “purification.”

    Wooooow!

A golden aura enveloped Zeke’s body.

The parasite screamed and disappeared into ash.

Zeke clapped his hands and ground his teeth.

“This is truly horrible. What kind of person could have put up such a curse?”

Perhaps it was the old man on the mountain who lit up his eyes and found it on his own.

    Zik checked Iraman’s pulse again.

    Fortunately everything was normal.

Just in case Zeke used his purification skill on Ira’s body a few more times before finishing the ritual.

    “It’s finally over.”

Zig informed the old man who was waiting anxiously outside the room that the treatment was finished.
