A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 134
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 134
Princess Arina blinked.
The eyes that were as if a curtain had been drawn and could not see anything have now regained their original vision.
She looked at Zeke in front of her with an expression of disbelief.
“Ji Ji-kyeong? How could this happen…?”
Zeke said in a calm voice.
“Your Majesty I am actually a healer class.”
Of course it has now been changed to an immortal class but I just said it was a healer class because I thought the explanation would be too complicated.
Princess Arina was surprised by Zeke’s words.
Then he nodded slowly.
“I thought it might be possible since he’s Laura’s son. But… being a healer class and performing miracles are two different things.”
“What is this miracle you speak of? I have always thought of it as a common healing.”
Princess Arina shook her head.
“The power to restore lost eyesight cannot be simple healing. If all healers had that power there would be no sick people in this world.”
Zig nodded after hearing Princess Arina’s words.
In fact I had never seen any other healers in my past life so I never thought about what general healing was like.
‘I thought other healers could do it because I could.’
Princess Arina slowly got up leaned forward and reached out to touch Zeke’s face.
She smiled caressing Zeke’s nose chin and eyebrow.
“I remember when I touch it like this. Sir Zeke looks like Laura.”
Princess Arina returned to her seat and looked around the mansion including Zeke with a curious look.
“When did you lose your eyesight?”
“I was still a child when I was led out of the church by Sir Fab. It was a difficult journey to escape the Holy Kingdom enduring many hardships. I suffered from a high fever because of it and after that I could not see anymore.”
Zeke was surprised to hear Princess Arina’s words.
‘It was almost 50 years ago when the Luverne clan escaped from the Holy Kingdom…?’
He looked at Arina’s face and still couldn’t believe how old she was.

“Sir Zeke look at this.”
At that moment Princess Arina opened her palm and a shining magic circle appeared in the air.
“What is this?”
“This is the latter half of the Book of Light that Sir Zeke brought. It can be said to be the essence of Luverne-style magic.”
“The first half and the second half seem very different.”
“The first half contained the basic magical techniques. As you know even if you know the magical techniques only those who are part of the Lubern bloodline and have inherited the magic of light can use them.”
“Then is the princess the only one who can use light magic?”
“For now yes. But now that we’ve inherited the second half of the magic things will be different.”
“What does that mean?”
“The second half is made up of a drive system that can freely transfer light magic spells.”
Zeke was surprised to hear Princess Arina’s words.
“Does that mean that you can teach the magic of light to other members of the Luverne clan in addition to the princess?”
“That’s right. In addition it is possible to imbue items with light magic. It requires some tricky materials though.”
“My goodness. Then I can give the Rose Knights an artifact imbued with light magic. Just like the Luverne Holy Knights of the past.”
Princess Arina smiled and nodded.
As if remembering something Zeke took out the Orichalcum sword he had.
“This is the Orichalcum Hammer that Sir Fab had sharpened into a sword. It also has three layers of light magic attached to it.”
“That would be a precious treasure given only to Arch Paladins in the Holy Kingdom. I think it would be difficult for anyone other than Sir Zig to use that sword. As of now there is no Holy Knight like Sir Fab.”
“Oh so I guess I was able to use it because I’m a healer class.”
“That’s true but even for a member of the Lubern bloodline it would be difficult to handle such a powerful weapon. Orichalcum boasts such great power that it is called the metal of the gods and it even chooses its user.”
Zik tilted his head after hearing Princess Arina’s words.
‘Was it? I think I wrote it without thinking much about it.’
It was Zeke who didn’t realize that he was different from ordinary people.
He asked holding the Orichalcum sword.
“By the way is it true that the craftsman Golin said that the Luverne Dynasty knew the technique of making orichalcum?”
The princess shook her head.
“Our ancestors may have known the technique but it has not been passed down to us today.”
“okay.”
It was Zig who had somewhat resolved the questions he had been wondering about.
He asked Princess Arina one last question.
“What are the plans of the Rose Knights going forward?”
At those words Princess Arina’s expression darkened slightly.
She opened her mouth slowly.
“Not only in the Holy Kingdom but also in the Roman Empire they are hunting down capturing and imprisoning the Luverne clan. We intend to rescue them.”
“Why would you do such a thing? In the current situation it is unlikely that the bloodline of the Luverne Dynasty has any justification or power to overthrow the kingdom or empire.”
Arina said looking at Zeke.
“A miracle that Sir Zeke saw. To find someone who can use it.”

Zeke was startled by those words.
“Oh my goodness. Are you saying that you are going to capture hundreds of Luverne’s blood relatives as soon as they appear in order to find a strong healer?”
“Because a miracle that can cure any disease is a gift from God that all those in power covet.”
Those words gave Zeke a slight creep.
In his previous life he was a hitman in the South after being kicked out of the academy so he was able to avoid being caught in the healer hunt.
It was also because he was not of the Luverne bloodline that he was able to avoid their surveillance network but if he had quickly realized his talent as a healer and used that ability he could have been mistaken for a Luverne bloodline and captured by the sect without being able to move.
‘I thought my past life was the worst but it could have been even worse.’
It was horrible to even imagine living a life locked in the dungeons of a religious order treating the illnesses of those in power for the rest of my life.
Zeke snapped out of his thoughts and looked at the princess.
“You will need strength to save the Luverne clan.”
Princess Arina nodded.
“Because there is no justice without force.”
Although her appearance was delicate her eyes and voice were gentle yet strong.
Zeke made her an offer.
“I will help you achieve the goals of the Knights of the Rose. Would you like to cooperate with me?”
Princess Arina said with a surprised expression.
“Are you talking about Draker?”
Zeke shook his head.
“No. I am forming a private knighthood called the Black Sword Knights. You can think of it as being affiliated with that knighthood. If you cooperate I will provide you with information on the facilities and operating costs that the Rose Knights need.”
Princess Arina was troubled by Zeke’s unexpected proposal.
After a while she slowly opened her mouth.
“If we accept the offer what should we do? I wonder if we too should become members of the Black Sword Knights and take orders from Lord Zeke.”
Zeke shook his head.
“It is literally a cooperative relationship and an alliance. I will ask the Rose Knights for help but if Your Majesty decides that it is not necessary you may refuse.”
Arina said with a troubled expression after hearing Zeke’s suggestion.
“The conditions are too favorable to us. This is not how we should deal with Sir Zick.”
It was Princess Arina who spoke as if she was coaxing her young niece.
Then Zeke opened his mouth.
“I never make a losing proposition.”
“So what is this proposal?”
“The faction opposing me has joined hands with suspicious people who use magic. In order to fight against them we need the power of the Rose Knights who can use light magic.”
Zeke had proposed an alliance with the Knights of the Rose keeping in mind the Abyss’ connections to Abel’s side.
Wherever he was he could use the power of purification but if the demon-empowered followers or beasts attacked his base he would be helpless.
As a countermeasure I wanted to borrow the power of light.
Princess Arina nodded after hearing Zeke’s words.
“Okay I think we can help you with that.”
When Princess Arina reached out her hand Zeke took her hand.
* * *
Cloone cried for almost half a day after seeing that Princess Arina’s eyes had recovered.
Princess Arina told her that her eyesight had improved after she inherited the latter half of the magic book.
Clone took Zeke’s hand who had brought the magic book and expressed his gratitude.
“Ugh. I thought the only good draker was a dead draker. I wasn’t. Thank you thank you so much. Ugh.”
Zeke was barely able to calm Clone down who was shedding tears and snot.
Princess Arina decided to move the headquarters of the Rose Knights to Agamemnon’s castle in Mycenae.
Tempel was likely to be at risk because it was easily accessible to outsiders.
However Mycenae which had a relatively complicated procedure for outsiders to enter and was located far from the Sacred Kingdom was quite difficult for Paladin pursuers to enter.
So while preparing to move to Mycenae a problem arose.
Zeke frowned as he received information from the Syndicate’s informants who were monitoring the Paladins within Tempel.
“They say the Paladins are blocking all the routes out of Tempel.”
The Paladin force having missed Clone and Zeke’s party planned to block the roads throughout the city and block their movements.
When Clone heard the news he exploded with anger.
“Those damn Paladins! I’m going to go and wipe them all out!”
Sister Clone snorted and went wild.
After thinking for a moment Zeke calmed down the excited Clone and told him his plan.
“Felix Liam. Take the Princess with Sister Cloone and go to Mycenae first. I will attract the attention of the Paladins and lure them away.”
Princess Arina was startled by those words.
“Oh no! You can’t sacrifice Sir Zeke for us! I’ll help you.”
At those words Zeke shook his head.
“I know that you have just finished the ceremony and have not yet fully recovered your strength. Don’t worry Princess. I can easily lure them out and escape on my own.”
“but….”
Felix who was next to her also reassured Arina.
“Your Highness our lord is not a person who will die even if you kill him so don’t worry… Kkeuk!”
It was always Felix who was the one who got the slap.
In the end as Zeke had planned he decided to go first and lure the Paladins.
‘It’ll be okay over there since Clone and Liam are there.’
He put on his mercenary attire his hair disheveled and headed towards the gateway to Atlas via the highway.
Because it was faster to go from Atlas to Mycenae via Panstars than to go directly from Tempel to Mycenae.
That’s why Zeke planned to lure the Paladins blocking the path to Atlas.
As Zeke was moving with the crowd of people trying to cross the gate he noticed something suspicious coming from the checkpoint set up in the middle.
‘Those bastards are hunting dogs?’
Zeke clenched his molars sensing the unique feeling of hunting dogs.
Unlike the Paladins the Hounds were adept at tracking and espionage.
If even the hunting dogs had smelled it and rushed at us it could have been dangerous to go to Atlas like this.
Camouflaged Paladins were also visible here and there around the checkpoint.
As he was observing them Zeke noticed that the hounds and paladins were looking at each other suspiciously.
‘Hmm it looks like they don’t know who each other is.’
After much thought Zeke decided to pit the hounds against the paladins.
He called Richmond in his heart.
‘Richmond.’
Richmond who was excitedly studying the monster bones and demon artifacts he had brought from the Barbarian realm was surprised by the sudden contact from Zeke.
‘Oh my goodness.’
‘You and I need to get in sync.’
‘yes?’
* * *
The hunting dogs and paladins who were waiting for the Rose Society while disguised on the roadside each lit up their eyes and looked around.
Then at one moment.
Boom! Boom!
A giant lizard-like creature emerged from across the forest.
Kaaaaaaah!
The magnificent roar of Gurav which resonated throughout the area shook the entire gate.
