    Episode 132

    “What?”

Clone picked up the mace and tried to jump out.

    Then Zeke stopped Klon.

“What are you going to do?”

“What should I do? I have to kill all those Paladin bastards.”

“And if we die who will take us to headquarters?”

    Clone shouted pushing Zeke aside.

“Then why don’t you help me and fight with those kids!”

Zeke shook his head as he watched Clone go out letting out a grunt.

    Liam asked Zeke quietly.

“What should we do my lord?”

Zeke took out his mask one by one and put it on.

“Just intervene to the extent that your identity is not revealed. If you can’t stop the Paladins take Clone and escape immediately. Felix you must never use Paladin swordsmanship.”

    “Ugh. Yes.”

Zeke and his group put on masks and chased after Clone.

The entrance leading to the hideout was already in chaos.

A secret Paladin unit disguised as mercenaries was swinging their swords at the members of the organization.

Clone jumped into the melee and swung his mace.

    “Die you little shits!”

    puck!

The Paladins were knocked out by Klon’s mace.

Looking at Clone swinging her mace wildly it was hard to believe she was a nun.

The Paladins fell back as Klonoe roared and swung his mace stirring up chaos.

Then one of the Paladins stepped forward and raised the shield he was carrying on his back.

“In the name of the sun god I punish those heretics!”

They were Paladins who openly mentioned the name of the Sun God even in their stomachs and such.

All the Paladins took out their shields and drew their swords.

Although not as advanced as the Empire the Paladins of the Holy Kingdom also learned shield fighting as a basic skill.

Shields were especially effective in these melees.

    Boom! Boom!

The Paladins advanced forward holding their shields in front and blocking the arrows and swords of the Rose Society members.

Zeke had faced the Paladins of the Holy Kingdom in his past life and he trembled at their tenacious fighting style.

‘They are more of a headache on the battlefield than ordinary knights.’

Even though Clone swung his mace and disrupted the formation of shields other men quickly came in and formed a solid defensive line.

If the war went on for a long time the Rose Society would be at a disadvantage.

Zeke said to Liam and Felix.

“I’ll go behind and shake up the defensive formation so you guys watch the situation and then take Klon and escape.”

“Ugh will that sister listen to us?”

    “Try hard to listen.”

Zeke left Felix and Liam behind and used stealth to hide his presence.

The rear was also guarded firmly by Paladins holding shields.

Zeke raised his sword and unleashed a mace of light at the Paladins.

    Kwakwakwakwang!

A huge halo of light struck the Paladins.

“Damn it! Those Luverne guys are magic!”

It was when the Paladins were trying to regain their balance and rise again.

Zeke unleashed his lightning skill on the Paladins.

    Phage phage phage!

The Paladins huddled together in a small space were shocked all at once by the lightning attack.

    “Krrrrrr!”

The Paladins who were unable to dodge and were hit directly by the lightning fell down foaming at the mouth.

Zeke drew Bahamut and charged at the Paladins who were still standing.

    Kwakwakwakwang!

When I swung Bahamut which contained the power of gold the floor and ceiling split apart with just a touch.

The Paladin who collided with Zeke’s sword fell down with his wrist broken.

    “Eww! It’s a heretic’s magic!”

Outside the building camouflaged Paladins with shields continued to swarm in.

‘There are so many people here.’

Tempel and the Holy Kingdom are geographically close and House Turn itself is not a place that strictly reviews movement between cities so it seems that a large number of disguised paladins have entered the city.

Zeke struck the Paladins’ shields then this time he unfurled his shield of light.

    Woohoo!

A huge shield of light appeared in front of Zig.

The Paladins struck the shield with their aura-filled swords but the rebound bounced them back.

Zeke reached out and pushed the shield forward.

    Choaaaah!

As the shield exploded a huge halo of light flew in all directions.

Zeke took advantage of the gap to defeat the Paladins and destroy the defensive formation facing the Rose Society.

Zeke shouted as he pushed the Paladin away and approached Klondike who was swinging his mace viciously.

“More Paladins are coming! We have to get out now!”

Although he was a choleric person Clone was one of the key executives leading the Rose Society.

She barely managed to calm down and agreed with Zeke.

    “Kids! Jump out!”

At Clone’s command the members of the organization dispersed in unison.

Then they set fire to various parts of the hideout.

The fire spread quickly as if the device had been set up in advance.

Clone gestured to Zeke and his group.

“Hey! This way! If you’re not careful you’ll get caught in the explosion and die!”

Zeke and his group followed Clone down to the basement of the hideout.

It was a secret passage leading to an old underground waterway.

Not long after we descended into the canal a huge explosion was heard from above.

    Kururururung!

    I heard the building collapsing.

Zeke seemed to know how the Rose Society had managed to avoid the eyes of the Holy Kingdom for decades.

    ‘They’re total guerrillas.’

Clone gestured towards Zeke and his group.

We had to go through a dirty underground sewer to a passageway that connected to the outside.

Zeke and Liam who had already received similar training at the academy entered the canal without any problems but Felix could not stand the smell and vomited.

    “Ugh!”

Cloone shook her head at the sight of Felix like that.

“They do all sorts of things.”

    * * *

The group had to crawl through the culvert for nearly two hours before they reached the entrance leading outside.

    Felix’s face turned pale.

Cloone clicked her tongue as she looked at Felix like that.

“I guess I’ll have to give this guy a hard time.”

“If the Order of the Rose has a training exchange program I’d like to send it.”

    “Oh that would be fun.”

Clone answered with a smile and then walked away kicking the ground hidden by the bushes with her feet.

Then he removed the wooden board that was buried in the ground and took out the backpack inside.

“I’m going up the mountain to headquarters. I’ll take basic supplies with me.”

    Then Zeke shook his head.

“You don’t need to pack supplies separately. I’ve already prepared them for you.”

Clone tilted his head at those words.

Zeke opened the bag he was carrying and took out items from his inventory.

“Subspace backpack? I knew Draker had a lot of money but is that even available?”

“These are personal items. Let’s just wash them and change into these clothes. The pursuers will be here soon.”

The group went to the stream washed the dirt off their bodies and changed into the clothes that Zig had brought out.

Then I went straight up the mountain.

For the Rose Society who were accustomed to guerrilla warfare it was much more advantageous to fight individual battles in the mountains.

Cloone looked surprised when Zeke and his group climbed the mountain better than expected.

“Can you teach me how to climb a mountain in Drake?”

“…You’re more interested in Drake than I thought.”

Clone chuckled at Zeke’s words. Zeke and his party who had been climbing the mountain while having such a boring conversation until the sun set chose a camping spot under a rock that could block the view.

As expected Zeke skillfully took out his camping gear.

Liam and Felix also naturally gathered stones and firewood to create a brazier with no visible fire.

Zig took out the convenience food he had in his inventory and put it in a pot poured water on it and boiled it.

It was a wonderful meal with warm soup bread and even grilled beef jerky so it was hard to believe it was camp food.

    “Hey Draker soup too…”

“That’s not true at all so stop.”

The four people who had filled their bellies moderately took turns taking turns resting while keeping watch.

At first Zeke and Clone were on guard duty.

He continued to ask Clone what he had not been able to ask before.

“Why are you surprised to hear that there is a healer class outside of Luverne?”

Then Clone looked at Zeke as if he found it ridiculous and said:

“That’s because the blessing of light is only given to the Luverne clan.”

“Blessing of Light? Something like the blessing of Aura or the blessing of magic?”

“You can’t say they’re the same but they do look similar at first glance. We also have a lot of lost data so we don’t know everything but we suspect that the Blessing of Light is a bloodline ability of Lubern.”

“Bloodline ability. What exactly is the Blessing of Light? Are you talking about healing ability?”

“That is also a type of light magic. The blessing of light is like a talent that allows you to learn and use light magic. What is in my mace and your sword is light magic.”

In the quest it was stated that the magic of light could only be passed down to the successors of the Lubern bloodline.

‘The blessing of light. I didn’t know you had such a bloodline ability.’

Clone lamented as he chewed on the jerky that Zeke had given him.

“Oh I struggled for almost ten years to use that breath of light but this Draker uses it as soon as he picks up the mace.”

Zeke asked another question to the lamenting Clone.

“But is that divine power something that can be trained? If you learn it it seems like you can use light magic.”

    Clone shook his head.

“Only the bloodline of Luverne can use the magic of light. We the holy knights can only use the weapons imbued with their power to manifest through divine power.”

“Hmm what exactly is this divine power? It seems to be different from aura.”

Clone opened his mouth with a hint of hesitation.

“What should I say? It’s hard to explain. You just have to love God with all your heart.”

“…I don’t know what you’re talking about anymore.”

“It’s hard to put into words but there is something like that. When you practice spiritual cultivation and call upon God you will soon find that the depths of your heart are filled with warmth. With that you can generate divine power.”

As Zeke listened to Clone’s words he felt that it was similar to how he was generating mana during the intermission.

‘Could it be that the divine power is referring to the mana before the interruption?’

Zig who had made one assumption soon shook his head.

This is because when Clone used the Breath of Light I didn’t feel any traces of interruption or mana.

It seemed that meeting the Luverne clan would eventually solve this mystery.

As the sun rose the four climbed the mountain again and headed to the Rose Society headquarters in the northern region of Tempel.

It was quite a complicated journey including walking along a mountain path to leave as little trace as possible then getting on a carriage to take a detour along the way.

The group was barely able to reach headquarters after two days.

Felix was surprised to see the headquarters of the Rose Society.

“This is headquarters? It’s just a farm?”

Without saying a word Clone kicked Felix in the shin.

    “Ugh!”

“Don’t say anything weird and follow me. Don’t say anything weird in front of the princess. Especially you.”

Felix whispered to Liam stroking his shin.

“Ugh. Senior Liam. That woman is definitely not a nun she’s a witch.”

Liam stepped aside embarrassed by Felix.

Zeke and his party followed Clone into an old mansion next to the farm.

While they were waiting in the reception room Clone decided to bring in the commander of the knights.

Felix looked around the mansion while Liam stood guard against any danger.

And a few minutes later Clone and a woman in neat sister’s attire appeared on this floor.

Clone took the woman’s hand and came down the stairs.

She was a woman whose face hair and everything else was as white as snow.

She was wearing a blue rose brooch with her white dress.

Zeke realized that he couldn’t see the eyes of the woman walking towards him holding Cloone’s arm.

The woman sat across from Zig and Clone stood behind her.

The woman in pure white opened her mouth with a clear smile.

“Nice to meet you. I am Arina Luverne in charge of the Rose Knights.”

Although she was a woman with a light body who seemed to have never been in a fight her voice had a majesty that made it difficult to treat her lightly.

‘There’s a reason why the Order of the Rose has lasted for so long.’

Zeke said looking at Areena Luverne.

“It’s nice to meet you. My name is Zeke Draker.”

Then Arina covered her mouth and laughed.

“I heard from Clone that he was so excited about seeing a real Draker. Pureblood Drakers have horns on their heads pointy teeth and they always smile…”

“Did you say he laughed like a devil?”

“Ah! That’s right. I can’t see Mr. Zeke’s face but from what I hear it doesn’t sound like that at all. It’s comfortable and stable yet strong. I can feel that he’s a really strong person.”

Zeke felt himself getting more and more lost in Arina’s words.

He came to his senses and told the reason he had come there.

“I asked to see the princess for no other reason than….”

“Have you come to give Luverne the Book of Light that he lost long ago?”
