    Episode 131

    Crunch!

The Rose Society members surrounded Zig’s group and took out their multiple-shot crossbows and aimed them.

Zeke asked the woman in a calm voice.

“Does this mean you’re going to war with the Syndicate?”

At those words the tattooed woman stood up and said.

“Even if the syndicate is doing well they still have knights like you? Damn it. You can tell just by looking at them that they’ve been properly trained as knights. Stop talking nonsense.”

As the woman raised her hand the crossbow was loaded.

Felix and Liam looked at the gang members with nervous expressions.

Zeke said to Felix and Liam.

    “Close your eyes.”

As soon as the two closed their eyes Zeke used his flash grenade skill.

The tattooed woman was able to quickly turn her head and avoid the flashbang.

At the same time the woman shouted at her subordinates.

    “Shoot! Kill him!”

    Shushu shushuk!

The gang members shot arrows at Zig’s group without even being able to see them.

Zeke pulled out the transformed Bahamut and fired an arrow.

    ping!

Then he ran straight towards the woman who was the leader.

The woman had already drawn her mace and was swinging it at Zeke’s sword.

    Pachin!

Sparks flew as Zeke’s sword and the woman’s mace clashed.

The blow felt heavy and disproportionate to the tattooed woman’s body type.

    ‘Is it magic?’

The tattooed woman straightened her posture and swung her mace at Zeke.

    Hoo hoo!

It was a well-trained movement not a haphazard swing.

Zeke realized that the movement was similar to Paladin swordsmanship.

‘I think the Rose Society is right.’

He avoided the mace and looked for an opening.

Since they were not enemies they had to be subdued rather than killed.

After Zeke opened the distance he took a dagger from his bosom and threw it at the woman.

    ping!

The dagger imbued with gold bounced off the mace.

It seemed that not only the auror but also the mace itself had been enchanted with strength-boosting magic.

‘It’s a skill too good to be wasted in the underworld.’

He was actually better than the Paladins of the Holy Kingdom.

As Zeke easily dodged and deflected her attack the woman straightened her stance clutching her mace.

“…These kids. What the hell are they?”

    Zeke said lowering his sword.

“I told you we are not enemies.”

“This is bullshit. The kid behind me is blatantly using Paladin swordsmanship and you say he’s not the enemy? Stop talking nonsense!”

Zeke clicked his tongue as he watched Felix diligently practicing his Paladin swordsmanship.

Things got messed up because I never expected the conversation to turn into such a mess.

    Phew!

The tattooed woman raised her mace and warned with a different expression than before.

“You guys will never get out of here alive.”

    Woohoo!

    The mace vibrated.

At the same time a strong light was emitted.

    ‘That’s?’

It was a familiar light to Zeke.

It seemed like a similar skill to the skills obtained through the artifact of Luverne.

As the light from the mace seeped into the woman’s body the energy emanating from her became completely different from before.

    Whoosh!

It seemed like not only strength but also speed had increased several times.

    “Haaaah!”

The woman struck Zeke’s forehead with her mace.

    Kwakwakwang!

As Zeke dodged the welcome beam the mace fell to the floor of the warehouse.

    Kwajijijik!

The solid stone floor was completely destroyed and the impact was transmitted to the surrounding walls causing cracks in the walls as well.

    ‘It’s brutal.’

It was clearly similar to Paladin swordsmanship but the power was worlds apart.

Zeke unleashed his golden field and clashed with Mace.

    Kwakwakwang!

As the sword and mace clashed a sound like an explosion rang out.

The woman stepped back looking surprised as Zeke countered her attack.

“How can you counter my attacks?”

Zig dug in and swung his sword.

    Phew!

The more you swing the black sword imbued with golden power the heavier the sword strike becomes.

    Wood crunch!

The woman who had been continuously blocking Zeke’s attacks also felt her body gradually becoming worn out.

    ‘Damn.’

Zeke’s group was much stronger than expected.

She waited for an opportunity to step back.

After a moment she swung her mace at a box full of leather.

    Kwakwakwakwang!

The box at the very bottom was completely torn to pieces causing the other boxes to spill out along with the leather inside.

The woman shouted at the gang members.

    “Everyone disperse!”

As if they were used to this situation the members of the organization scattered in all directions leaving behind their fallen comrades.

The woman who was the leader also tried to run away.

Then a hand popped out from inside the pile of leather.

    Thud!

Zeke’s arms wrapped around her neck.

    “Ugh!”

    Zeke said.

“Hey calm down. I don’t plan on messing with your organization. Things are a bit complicated but look at this.”

Zig grabbed the Orichalcum sword he was carrying on his back and quickly used the Curtain of Light skill.

    Woohoo!

In an instant a halo of light began to spread around Zig’s body.

The halo of light permeated Liam Felix and even the members of the Rose Society.

The unconscious members of the organization woke up and their tired stamina was restored.

As the woman’s resistance subsided he released her and let her go.

    “This is crazy nonsense.”

She looked in disbelief at the curtain of light Zeke had unfurled.

Then he raised his mace and shouted.

“Hey how can you use light magic!”

“I came to seek my blood relatives in Luverne.”

At the mention of Luverne the tattooed woman’s expression hardened noticeably.

Zeke tried to have a calm conversation.

“The name of the guy who used Paladin Swordsmanship earlier is Felix Valencia. He is the grandson of Arch Paladin Fab Valencia who went apostate after rescuing the Luverne clan 50 years ago.”

The woman looked surprised at Zeke’s words.

Then he said with a frown.

    “How can you believe that?”

Zeke said showing the Orichalcum sword he was holding.

“This is a sword forged by Jobern who took the orichalcum hammer that Fab Valencia had. The Holy Kingdom strictly prohibits the outflow of orichalcum. This amount of orichalcum has never leaked out since Fab Valencia.”

The woman thought there was some validity to what Zeke said.

Above all Fab Valencia’s work was a closely guarded secret even within the Rose Society.

Only then did she let her guard down and signal her men to lower their weapons.

Zeke also told Liam and Felix to put down their weapons.

    The woman spoke to Zeke.

“If you’re the grandson of Sir Fab then what is your identity? And stop talking about being part of the Syndicate.”

Zeke opened his mouth towards her after taking the sword.

    “My name is Zeke Draker.”

The woman held her breath for a moment at the word Draker.

Not only her but the other members of the organization also had cold sweat running down their foreheads.

    She opened her mouth slowly.

    “…Did the turn move?”

    Then Zeke shook his head.

“It has nothing to do with the other side. I came here for my own personal reasons.”

Although the woman seemed to let down her guard at Zeke’s words she couldn’t help but feel nervous.

In no situation could anyone feel safe with Drake in front of them.

    She said to Zeke.

“Damn I guess we need to talk quietly.”

She ordered her men to clean up the warehouse and guided Zeke and his men elsewhere.

I left the building and walked through the alleys and basement several times before entering the secret hideout.

Zeke believed that syndicates and underground organizations all had similar characteristics.

The woman who entered the hideout’s office offered seats to Zeke and his group.

Zeke sat across from her while Liam and Felix sat in the corners on either side securing an escape route.

The woman who saw that smiled faintly.

“The loyalty of your subordinates is amazing.”

“Nothing compares to the loyalty of the Rose Society for Luverne. Or rather the Knights of the Rose.”

The tattooed woman shook her head in disapproval at Zeke’s words.

“I didn’t know Draker had so much information about us. Well it’s possible because he’s Draker.”

“I don’t know how much you know about the Rose Society on the Black Stage. As I said before I came here for personal business.”

“What do you mean by personal circumstances?”

“I can’t say it right here. I’ll just say that I have something to convey to the Luverne clan.”

The woman hesitated at those words then glanced at Felix behind her.

    “The grandson of Sir Fab.”

    “You still can’t believe it?”

“No I confirmed that part when I saw the Orichalcum sword. Hmm.”

    He nodded soon.

“Okay. I’ll show you to headquarters. I need to send someone first to talk to them so let’s go together when I contact you. My name is Kloné. You can call me Sister Kloné.”

Felix who was behind her was startled by those words.

    “Sister Sis. You’re a nun?”

Then Cloone glared at Felix and said.

“This kid. Want to get spanked by a nun? Is that really Sir Fab’s grandson? He’s so foolish.”

Zeke nodded unable to refute Clone’s words.

Clone shook his head opened the lid of a jar on the table and ate something.

Upon closer inspection I saw that it was a dried scorpion food.

She felt his gaze and held out the scorpion to Zeke and asked.

“Want to eat it? It tastes delicious when you chew it.”

Zeke waved his hand in rejection.

“Clone said chewing on the scorpion.

“How did you do that earlier? The one with the flash of light.”

“You mean the barrier of light? The sword that Sir Fab left behind was engraved with magic.”

    Then Clone shook his head.

“No that’s not what’s important. What I’m talking about is how you used the magic contained in that sword.”

    “…Huh? I just wrote it.”

At those words Clone looked even more dumbfounded.

Then he took out his mace.

“Can you use the magic contained here?”

Zeke held the mace that Clone had handed him and checked the information with his eyes.

    -Mace Information-

Description: A sacred mace imbued with the power of light created during the reign of the Luverne Dynasty.

    Unique Ability: Breath of Light

Special: Light can be absorbed by the body increasing strength by more than 3 times.

    ‘As expected there’s a strength-enhancing magic applied.’

Zeke held the mace and used the Breath of Light skill.

    Woohoo!

Zeke’s body was enveloped in a halo of light.

He picked up his mace and swung it.

    Hoo hoo!

The sound of the wind cutting through the air was clearly different.

Cloone’s mouth fell open as he saw Zeke use the Breath of Light skill so carelessly.

“Ah no. How can you… cast light magic without divine powers?”

Zeke tilted his head at Clone’s words.

“Do I need divine power to use this?”

    Clone shouted with a frown.

“Of course! We’re holy knights for no reason. We use light magic with divine power so we’re holy knights.”

It was an obvious statement but it felt refreshing to Zeke since it was the first time he had heard it.

‘Come to think of it I was able to use other skills without even learning magic.’

With the help of the system Zeke was able to freely use skills close to magic including dragon skills and active skills.

It seemed that even light magic that required divine power could be used without restrictions by Zik.

Clone stared at Zeke intently and then shook his head.

    “Surely not….”

    “What are you talking about?”

She said with an expression of disbelief.

“There is only one way to freely use divine magic without divine power.”

“Clone spat out the scorpion shell” he said.

    “It’s possible if you’re a healer class.”

When the word healer class unexpectedly came out of Clone’s mouth Zeke was momentarily taken aback.

Clone noticed the subtle change in Zeke that passed by in an instant.

“Do you know what a healer class is? Are you a healer class?”

Zeke said again keeping his poker face.

“I am a pureblood Awakened Draker. There is no way I am a healer class.”

Still she looked at Zeke with a suspicious expression and said:

“Hmm but how do you know about the healer class? Most people probably don’t even know the word class.”

    ‘You’re so suspicious.’

Still Zeke thought this was a chance to get a clue about the healer class so he thought about it and tried to come up with a solution.

“My mother was in the healer class.”

This time Clone was surprised by those words.

“Your mother was a healer? Could she be a relative of Luverne?”

Zeke shook his head. Clone reacted even more violently to this.

“Are you saying that there was a healer class other than Luverne?”

“A healer class other than Luverne? What does that mean…?”

Then suddenly the door opened wide.

“Sister! We’ve been spotted by the Paladins!”
