A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 130
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 130
Woohoo!
A halo of light surrounded Zigg like a curtain.
At the same time some of the halo penetrated Zeke and Felix.
Felix who was reading a letter next to her felt refreshed the moment the light seeped into his body.
“What is this my lord?”
A message appeared before Zeke’s eyes.
[Some health is restored due to the effect of the Light Curtain.]
It seemed to be a skill that gave health recovery effects to nearby allies.
Zeke asked Felix.
“Felix tell me what changes you feel in your body.”
Felix moved his body around.
“I don’t feel like there’s been much of a change. I just feel more refreshed and find it easier to breathe?”
It didn’t seem to be an effect that would bring about an incredibly dramatic recovery like healing or infinite stamina skills.
As soon as Zeke unlocked the skill the halo disappeared again.
As Zeke swung the Orichalcum Sword a question suddenly occurred to him.
‘Can anyone else besides me use this skill?’
Zeke called Felix.
“Felix hold this sword and inject your aura into it while shouting ‘Curtain of Light.’”
Felix did as Zeke told him without even knowing what was going on.
“Curtain of light.”
Even though I injected the aura the sword showed no reaction.
I tried several more times but nothing worked.
Felix spoke to Zeke with an awkward expression.
“Oh that doesn’t work?”
“Hmm. I see.”

Felix said with the aforementioned expression.
“My lord! Isn’t that so? It’s like the legend where the sword chooses its master!”
“Let’s stop talking nonsense and get going. I think we’ve found everything your grandfather left behind.”
Zeke and Felix left the catacombs taking with them everything Fab Valencia had left behind.
Then they covered the stone coffin as before to prevent anyone else from discovering this place.
Before they knew it night had fallen so Zeke and Felix decided to stay the night at the village chief’s house. Felix’s house was so old that it was practically like sleeping outside.
Even after dinner Felix continued to read and reread the letter his grandfather had left behind.
Zeke decided to give Felix some time alone.
‘I guess it was a big shock.’
It wasn’t something that could be easily understood or overlooked as it even included information that Fab wasn’t his biological grandfather and that his parents had been murdered by the Holy Kingdom.
While Felix read the letter Zeke went out into the backyard with the Orichalcum sword.
And he examined the book that came with the sword. Felix had left both of them to Zeke to dispose of saying that they were both too much for him to handle.
Zeke was shocked when he saw the contents of the book.
“This is… a vision book containing the enlightenment of the Arch Paladin.”
It was a vision book containing the deep insights of Fab Valencia the Arc Paladin.
Zeke quickly skimmed through the contents of the vision book.
It contained some fairly radical content.
“You practice swordsmanship without using a sword?”
It meant that once you reach a certain level you can use swordsmanship without having to use a sword as your whole body becomes a sword.
The book may at first glance seem to refer to martial arts but it claims that it is different from general martial arts.
He said that using your hand and arm as a sword and unleashing the Auror Blade is different from attacking the enemy with a sword strike.
‘…Isn’t it all the same in the end?’
Fab Valencia’s insight has not yet fully reached Zick’s level.
Fab Valencia named his visionary work which contained his own insights ‘Infinite Link’.
“Does this mean that all movements can be connected and used without interruption?”
The core of this technique was the chain attack in which the enemy was attacked not by swinging the sword but by wrapping the blade around his entire body and swinging his hands feet or body against it.
When I imagined the infinite chain effect I thought it would be much more powerful than I thought.
Fab Valencia wrote the following at the end of his vision book:
<Those who have been connected to it are asked to learn this infinite chain of connections and those who have not learned it are asked to pass it on to someone with good qualities.>
Zeke felt a little guilty about the ‘good heart’ part but he rationalized to himself that since he had found the book of visions by chance it was okay to learn it.
‘I’ll learn it and let Felix know too.’
Since Zigg was aiming to become the strongest on the continent he could use anything to become stronger.
Zig scanned the entire contents of the vision book and saved them in some folder.
The part about gaining insight was something that needed to be realized so it would take time so I decided to study it slowly.
Zik first unfolded the movements in the vision book one by one.
It was still difficult to tell the difference between making a hand and arm into a sword and striking a water well.
“Wow you need to be at least a Blue Knight or higher to learn this.”

Since every movement required the Aura Blade to be imbued Felix who was a Purple Knight would not be able to use it even if he was told about it now.
Just as I was learning the basic moves of the Infinite Chain Felix came out.
Zeke stopped moving and approached Felix.
“Felix.”
Felix’s face looked unusually gaunt.
But the look in his eyes was much clearer than before.
‘I think I overcame it well.’
With the passive skill of Strong Mental Defense Zigg rarely had his mental power broken.
However Felix although strong and talented was an ordinary person and could not help but be greatly affected by the psychological shock.
Felix approached Zeke and suddenly started to cry.
“Oh my. My lord.”
Zeke patted Felix’s shoulder as he burst into tears.
‘I was mistaken.’
Felix who had been sobbing for a long time finally came to his senses.
“Sniff. I apologize for showing you my ugly side my lord.”
“It’s okay. It’s not like I’ve been ugly for a day or two.”
To begin with Zeke didn’t have high expectations for Felix.
Zeke looked at the gloomy Felix and an idea occurred to him.
‘Is it possible to transfer the strong mental defense with a wide-area buff?’
After thinking about it Zeke decided to cast a strong mental defense skill as a wide-area buff.
Woohoo!
A wide area buff was cast around Zigg.
Then Felix who had been gloomy suddenly raised his head.
“My lord this is not the time for me to be so depressed.”
Zeke closely observed Felix’s sudden change.
Felix clenched his fists and shouted.
“I will avenge my parents! And I will definitely complete the mission my grandfather left behind!”
Zeke pondered for a moment looking into Felix’s burning eyes.
‘Did the buff go wrong?’
Felix who had been speaking earnestly for about thirty minutes about how he would take revenge on the Holy Kingdom suddenly became gloomy again as soon as the buff wore off.
“…Master I will go in first and sleep.”
As the buff’s effects wore off the gloominess seemed to multiply.
Zeke saw Felix and realized that passive skills could also be buffed.
“Skills related to the mind are dangerous. I must be careful when using them.”
When Felix came to his senses Zeke thought he should try out the infinite stamina and battle sense skills as buffs.
Fortunately the next day Felix shook off his gloom and returned to his usual self.
“My lord I wish to complete my grandfather’s mission.”
“Are you saying you will save the bloodline of Luverne?”
“Yes. I thought about it carefully yesterday and it all came together in the end.”
Felix said in a serious voice.
“To save the Luverne clan and bring down the Papal faction. My grandfather must have wanted to somehow save the Holy Kingdom he loved from becoming increasingly corrupt and degenerate.”
Zeke nodded to Felix’s words.
“Well done Felix. The buff was worth it.”
“Huh? What is that?”
“It’s nothing.”
Since Zeke also had a quest to deliver the Book of Light to the Luverne clan their goals overlapped.
Zeke and Felix returned to the castle.
But when they arrived at the castle the man Kay had sent was waiting for Zeke.
Traces of the Luverne bloodline were found in the syndicate.
Zeke was shocked when he read what his informant had brought.
“Are you saying that there is a blood relative of Luverne in Tempel?”
The informant answered with a nervous expression.
“Yes that’s right boss. There’s an underground organization that’s been in Tempel for a long time and according to our sources in the Holy Kingdom the Paladin secret unit is continuously tracking this organization. There’s a high probability that this organization is connected to the Luverne clan.”
“What is the name of that organization?”
“Known only by the name of Rose Society.”
“It’s a rose festival.”
Zick remembered the chair from the Luverne dynasty that he had seen in his cradle.
‘There was definitely a rose engraved there too.’
The blue rose was the symbolic flower of the House of Luverne.
Zeke thought the syndicate’s reasoning made sense.
The problem was the secret Paladin force dispatched by the Holy Kingdom.
Even after Fab’s death the Holy Kingdom continued to search for Luverne’s blood relatives and imprison them in the church.
‘They said that the Holy Kingdom continues to search for the Luverne clan because they perform miracles. Could it be that these miracles are…?’
Zeke asked his informant to find out about the ‘miracle’ of the Holy Kingdom.
Then he called Felix.
“Get ready we’ve found traces of Felix Lubern.”
“Yes! I understand.”
Zeke decided to take Felix and Liam to Tempel.
After leaving the Knights in the care of Decker and Farrell Zeke took the two men and headed straight to Tempel.
* * *
“and.”
As soon as they got out of the station Felix and Liam were speechless at the sight of Tempel.
Atlas was a sophisticated new city Mycenae was an ancient city.
But Tempel had completely different cities and landscapes.
There were large mercenaries and warriors proudly walking along the streets carrying weapons and there were many rough-looking people drinking heavily from the daytime.
bang!
There was a loud sound of something breaking nearby.
“Catch that bastard and kill him!”
A fight broke out after an argument broke out while they were drinking.
Zeke didn’t pay much attention to the sight as if he was used to it.
In fact the North where he had stayed for a long time in his previous life was mostly like this so it wasn’t that unfamiliar.
Zeke said to Felix and Liam.
“Tempel is the stronghold of the House of Tourn.”
After hearing that the two immediately understood why the city was like this.
House Turn once known as royalty on the Northern Continent was rough rugged and warrior-worshipping.
So fighting was just a daily routine for them.
The people who had been fighting and bickering until just a moment ago were now singing songs putting their arms around each other’s shoulders and drinking beer again.
Liam looked pleased with the sight.
Zeke looked at Liam like that again.
‘Well since he is the future mercenary king this might be more suitable than a knight.’
Zeke took Felix and Liam to the accommodation that the Syndicate had arranged in advance.
The accommodation was located on a street that was both a bustling commercial district and a stage for the underworld.
As Zeke and his group came out after changing their clothes and getting ready a member of the syndicate approached them.
“I received a call from above. I will guide you to the Rose Society.”
Since the Rose Society is an underground organization like the Syndicate it seems that there are channels through which they can communicate with each other.
Zeke followed his gang into the secret underworld streets.
I walked along the winding alley.
Here and there outlaws and gang members with fierce-looking faces and tattoos all over their bodies glared at Zeke and his group.
No matter how scary they looked at them they were no match for Zeke and his party who had received formal knight training. However since their identities were hidden they avoided eye contact and quietly followed the guide.
The agent walked through the alleyways for a while before pointing to an entrance leading to the basement of a building.
“This way.”
“Aren’t we going in together?”
“A lowly person like me is not in a position to go in. I will wait until you come out.”
Zeke and his group went downstairs leaving their guide behind.
As I went down I came across a warehouse with a musty smell.
‘Is this a place to store leather?’
Wooden crates filled with furs were stacked everywhere.
He guided them inside after hearing from Zeke and his group that the members of the organization in front had come through the syndicate.
Zeke discovered that the members of the organization had rose designs tattooed on their wrists.
Inside the warehouse a short-haired woman with tattoos on her arms and neck was sitting on a chair cracking peanuts.
Behind her there was a row of large men standing.
A woman sitting on a chair chewed peanut shells and then spat them out.
Then he opened his mouth after seeing Zeke and his group.
“You guys are a syndicate? That’s bullshit. Kill those bastards.”
