A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 128
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 128
Al and Jeff were startled as they watched the bubbling flask.
“Ouch! Hey Jeff is that…?”
“Oh my god! Brother! That’s right! This is the fermentation reaction we wanted! Get ready quickly!”
Al and Jeff snatched the flask from Zeke’s hands and placed it on the bench then quickly put on safety glasses and a mask.
Then he motioned for Zeke to step back.
Since he was a man who couldn’t read or sleep anyway it didn’t really affect him but when he saw the twins suddenly moving busily he got up from his seat and stepped back.
The twins began mixing various chemicals into the soma that Zeke had fermented.
The raw material of Soma in the flask was mixed with all kinds of chemicals and repeatedly entered and exited the still.
Then about an hour later he carefully took one of the test tubes with a blue glow from the culture tube.
Then I put a little bit of it into a test beaker and performed a reaction experiment.
Al and Jeff made a sample put it in the magnifying glass and looked inside.
For a moment both people’s faces hardened.
Zeke who was watching this tilted his head.
‘Did you fail?’
Al and Jeff looked at each other and said.
“Did you see it?”
“Oh. Did you see it too hyung?”
Then suddenly the two people started screaming and jumping around.
“Success! Success!”
“Damn! We’re geniuses after all! We made it!”
It was Al and Jeff who succeeded in developing antibiotics using the soma fermented by Zeke.
Al and Jeff shouted at Zeke.
“Sir Zeke! How on earth did you ferment the soma just now?”
“That’s right! We tried everything we could to make it ferment but it never worked!”
Zeke opened his mouth not knowing how to explain the power of corruption.

“I can’t tell you because it’s confidential.”
The two of them did not have the courage to dig deep into the matter that was described as ‘confidential’ by the pureblood Draker.
Zeke asked Al and Jeff.
“Is continued fermentation of raw materials necessary to commercialize this antibiotic?”
Then Al shook his head.
“If we have this sample we can culture it and ferment the raw material.”
Jeff who was standing next to him added:
“It might take longer than what Sir Zeke did. It takes time to incubate.”
This time he was lucky enough to succeed in fermenting but since he didn’t know what would happen if the quantity was large Zig was relieved after hearing what the two people had to say.
Even if it took more time it was stable to produce antibiotics through safe fermentation.
Zeke said as he looked at Al and Jeff.
“But if the antibiotic samples have been created there is no need for additional budget right?”
Then the twins’ faces turned pale and they began spitting out words.
“Ji Jik Kyung! This is literally a sample I made! A sample!”
“That’s right! There are still a lot of things we need to experiment with in the future! We need to do clinical trials and….”
Zeke looked at the two and smiled.
“It’s a joke. We will continue to support the budget.”
Al and Jeff looked at Zeke with a blank expression.
He had been playing pranks his entire life but he had finally gotten a good beating from Zeke.
Anyway Al and Jeff who had obtained the results carefully kept the antibiotic samples and packed their toolbox well.
“Zeke said as he saw the two off.
“Next time I’ll come over to the lab to play.”
At those words Al and Jeff hiccupped for a moment.
“You don’t have to do that…”
“I think it would be okay if we just kept in touch from afar.”
Al and Jeff quickly packed up their toolbox and ran away as soon as the carriage arrived.
Decker who was behind was startled to see the twins running away in panic.
“Wow you are amazing your highness for subduing those rascals in one go.”
Zeke said with a bitter smile at Decker’s words.
“If you think of him as a child it’s actually harder to handle him. Rather Decker I have something to tell you so let’s talk for a moment.”
* * *
“Are you telling me to take on the role of Knight Commander?”
Decker looked surprised at Zeke’s words.
Zick nodded sipping his fragrant tea.
“You heard that I didn’t choose the Knights at the initiation ceremony.”
Decker nodded at Zeke’s words and said.
“Do you know how surprised I was to hear that news from Duke? When you stopped by the mansion before going on a mission you said it was nothing. But you went on a class A mission all by yourself…?”

“I’m sorry if I worried you. But if I join the Knights I will become attached to them and lose my freedom.”
From Zeke’s perspective training alone was a way to become stronger faster.
There was no need to be tied down to the Knights Templar.
Decker spoke to Zeke with a worried expression.
“Running a knight order is not an easy task. Above all it is difficult to maintain it without financial support.”
“Don’t worry about that. I have enough money.”
“If you are counting on the Lord’s Black Card and the taxes from the estate you are mistaken. That alone is not enough to run the Knights Templar…”
“Do you know Reinhart Trading Company?”
Decker had also heard of it as it was the largest growing company in Alencia.
“I know.”
“I am the major shareholder there.”
“yes?”
And Zeke continued speaking.
“Did you hear the news that the Mithril mine that Graham Bank invested in recently hit the jackpot?”
“I heard it but…..”
“I am also the major shareholder there.”
Decker opened his mouth wide unable to continue speaking.
He always maintained a neat and tidy demeanor so it seemed quite surprising that he was making such an expression.
‘I guess it’s better to keep it a secret that I’m running the syndicate. If I make a mistake Decker will die.’
Just what he had just said was already at the level of one of the best assets on the continent.
Decker wiped the cold sweat and spoke to Zeke.
“I knew that you Lord Hou were extraordinary compared to your peers… but I understand. However even if you have sufficient finances running an order of knights is no easy task.”
“I’ve already found someone to run it.”
“Who is that?”
“The elders of Agamemnon are willing to help. The House of Achilles and the House of Hector Ajax have also responded that they will give their support in any way they can. The House of Graham is the same.”
“oh my god….”
Mycenae of course had no problem running the knightly order as the elders of Agamemnon who had once run the largest knightly order in the Midlands had no problem running the order.
There was no need to mention the help of the Acilius and Hector Ajax Graham families who were renowned nobles in the central region.
In the end Decker gave in to Zeke’s thorough preparation.
“I really can’t stand up to you Young Master.”
“It was Decker’s fault for wanting to be comfortable by my side. I’m not the type of person to just leave a talented person alone.”
My previous life was literally a time of great difficulty for talent.
Because of the war talented people were sacrificed every other day.
In the end when the war ended no one remained by Zeke’s side.
So he had to wander alone across the continent reduced to ashes.
‘Compared to that time now is a paradise for talented people.’
Decker asked Zeke.
“How do you plan to form the Knights? Liam and Felix are both excellent candidates but they lack the experience to become full-fledged knights.”
“I’ll keep those two as trainees. Don’t worry we’ll meet the guys who will become full-fledged knights soon.”
And a week later just as Zeke had said two knights came to the mansion.
“Whew! Zeke is rich.”
“Hey Diego lower your voice. My head is ringing because I haven’t slept in a week.”
Diego and Aster had both completed Valhalla’s graduation exams.
After graduating from Valhalla the two turned down all offers to join other knight orders and came straight to where Zeke was.
Zeke greeted them at the mansion.
“Diego Aster. Long time no see.”
As soon as the two arrived Zeke put them in the carriage.
“Zeke Bro! Where are you going!”
“Just follow me and don’t talk nonsense.”
Zik took them to the Duchy of Troy.
After arriving in the northern part of the Duchy of Troy where they received the knighthood Diego and Aster were greatly impressed when they saw the lord’s castle belonging to Zeke.
“Wow this is the Holy Master.”
“Yes it’s not that big but it’s not uncomfortable to live in.”
It was small by Zeke’s standards but it was by no means small.
As Diego and Aster were admiring the castle Decker approached from afar.
“Are you here my lord?”
Decker fully armored was a knight himself not a page.
Diego and Aster realized at a glance that Decker was no ordinary knight.
Zeke introduced the two to Decker.
“Diego and Aster. Both are Valhalla graduates.”
Decker looked at the two with a satisfied expression.
“You brought a great gem.”
Decker an experienced knight immediately recognized the talents of both men.
Zeke and Decker took the two men towards the training ground.
“Wow.”
Diego and Aster couldn’t help but be surprised.
This was because compared to the old castle built in a classical style the smokehouse was newly built in a completely modern style.
In the training grounds the knight Farel of the House of Achilles was diligently training dozens of men including Liam and Felix.
Diego and Aster were also people who knew.
The men were none other than the 8th Knights of Delphos whom Zeke had hired in Delphos and sent south.
The Knights of Delphos tanned by the sun of the Southern Continent and turning copper looked much more solid than before.
Having spent time fighting against the rough cartels and rebels of the South he had venom in his eyes and scars all over his face and body.
Farrell who was training discovered Zeke and Decker and approached them.
“Your Majesty Your Majesty. Welcome.”
It was Farrell who had moved from the Knights of Achilles to Zeke’s side.
Zeke gave him the position of vice-captain of the Knights Templar.
Farrell looked satisfied as he looked at Diego and Aster.
“These are the knights my lord spoke of.”
Diego and Aster were nervous once again at the sight of Farrell the League Champion and a renowned knight from the Central Region.
Zeke said to Decker and Farrell.
“I’ll stay here for the time being and work on reorganizing the Knights. If there’s anything you need for training just tell me.”
“Understood my lord.”
Diego and Aster under the burning gaze of Farrell regretted whether they had made the wrong choice.
It was the true beginning of the ‘Black Sword Knights’ founded by Zeke.
* * *
For a month Zeke had been busy laying the foundation for the Black Sword Knights in Troy’s territory.
And when the foundation was somewhat established I called Felix separately.
“Ugh. You called Master.”
“I told you to call me lord.”
“Ugh. It’s not getting better. Why did you call me sir?”
Zeke said looking at Felix.
“Felix you are from the Duchy of Troy.”
“Yes that’s right. That’s why I was originally sent here to guide you my lord.”
“Is the place where your grandfather lived far from here?”
Felix said picking up the snack on the table and eating it.
“No. It’s not that far from here. If you go by horseback it takes half a day.”
Zeke stood up from his seat.
“let’s go.”
“Yes? Where?”
“Your hometown.”
Felix asked with a bewildered expression.
“Why are you going there?”
“When I met Golin I heard a story about a paladin who was supposed to be your grandfather.”
“A story about your grandfather?”
“Yes. I heard there was a paladin who brought Golin a hammer made of orichalcum and asked him to make it into a sword. Does that make sense?”
Felix shook his head at those words.
“No. I’ve never seen anything like the Orichalcum sword… My sword was made by the village blacksmith. It’s not very good but I’m still using it because I’m attached to it.”
“Zeke said stroking his chin.
“Perhaps your grandfather left some traces behind. If the Arch Paladin risked his life and escaped the Holy Kingdom after being dislodged then there must be something.”
“Hmm. So you’re saying that it wasn’t just because of a secret fight that they broke up?”
“That’s probably true. The Holy Kingdom may seem peaceful and wealthy on the outside but it’s rotten on the inside.”
The place with the greatest gap between rich and poor throughout the entire Central Continent was the Holy Kingdom.
The privileged class enjoyed wealth that rivaled that of any royalty but the common people lived in more difficult circumstances than the poor anywhere else.
The corruption of the religious order was already widely known but since this situation had continued for over a hundred years there was nothing that could be done about it at present.
Felix stood up from his seat with unusually clear eyes.
“If it’s for the honor of my grandfather then of course I must go. Go my lord.”
“Your motivation is good but Felix wipe the cookie crumbs off your mouth before you speak.”
“Hmm. Yeah haha.”
