A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 123
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 123
“Richmond! Put down the cane!”
The cane began to vibrate more and more strongly.
Richmond tried to let go of his cane after hearing Zeke’s words but his hand wouldn’t move.
“Eww!”
A black aura emanated from the staff and was sucked into Richmond’s nose and mouth.
Zeke pulled out Bahamut and ran straight to Richmond.
Then he raised the Blade of Purification and cut off the staff.
Dismissed!
Only when the cane was cut did the vibrations stop.
Passs …
The staff completely lost its power and disappeared into gray ash.
Richmond’s eyes turned black as he inhaled the black aura.
“Eeeeeeeeeee!”
Richmond began to tremble.
Then his appearance changed from human form back to his original lich form.
At the same time a black aura enveloped Richmond’s body.
After catching his breath Zeke picked up Bahamut and stabbed it at Richmond.
“Hold on Richmond!”
Bahamut sucked in the black energy surrounding Richmond’s body.
[Bahamut absorbs the power of the ‘Rider of Blood and Madness’.]
“Keeeeeek!”
Richmond in the guise of Richie screamed in pain.
The black energy surrounding his body was all sucked into Bahamut.
Then the message came back to me again.
[The power of the ‘Rider of Blood and Madness’ has been purified.]

[If you grant the power of the purified ‘Rider of Blood and Madness’ to the summoned creature Richmond you can draw out the summoned creature’s potential.]
[Would you like to grant Richmond that power?]
‘Can you draw out the potential of your summons?’
Zig remembered that he had previously seen that he could evolve Youngsoo into a Divine Beast using Karma Points. He thought that it might be something similar to that.
Zeke saw Richmond suffering and shouted that he would give him strength.
A crimson aura rose from Bahamut and seeped into Richmond again.
Drumroll!
Richmond who was an ordinary Richie received the power granted by Zeke and the color of his bones changed to dark red.
At the same time a purple gem appeared in one of his gaping eyes.
“Kkaaaaaaah!”
[Richmond who received the power of the purified ‘Rider of Blood and Madness’ has evolved from Lich to Demi Lich.]
[As a result of absorbing the power of the purified ‘Rider of Blood and Madness’ Richmond gains the ability of ‘Demonic Transformation’.]
[The followers of the ‘Riders of Blood and Madness’ recognize Richmond as an ally.]
Surprisingly Richmond who was an ordinary Lich evolved into a high-level undead Demi Lich.
“Gasp gasp.”
Richmond who had regained his human form but had become a demi-lich had a distinctly different majesty and aura.
“Are you okay Richmond?”
“Yes yes master.”
Richmond was amazed to see himself become a demi-rich.
Zeke asked Richmond.
“How does it feel to become a demi-lich?”
“A demi-lich? I’ve been a lich for five hundred years but now I’m a demi-lich…? That’s perfect!”
Zeke was actually surprised in another way.
“Five hundred years…? Come to think of it you said you’ve been active since the days of the Holy Empire. You seem to have better survival skills than I thought.”
Even if Liches are granted immortality it is difficult for them to live beyond a hundred years.
No matter how much you hide adventurers and knights will kill you as soon as they find you.
Richmond was able to survive for such a long time because unlike other Liches he did not attack humans but quietly collected monster bones and studied specialized magic.
‘But five hundred years is more than enough time to become an arch-lich not a demi-lich.’
If you purify and grant it the power of other demons it might evolve into Archlich.
While Zeke was thinking of ways to evolve him Richmond who had become a Demi-Lich was very excited because he could fly through the air unlike when he was a Lich.
“Master! Look at this!”
Zeke said looking at Richmond flying around the stone chamber with a pitiful look on his face.
“Try the Richmond Magic Transformation.”
At Zeke’s words Richmond came down to the floor and activated his demon transformation ability.
Kkwaddudduk!
Richmond’s body transformed and surprisingly he became an undead demon.
Krrrrrr!

It was a dragon-shaped creature with wings made of bone and because it was a demon it looked much more ferocious and vicious than a normal dragon like a normal drake.
“Huh? So the bones of the dragons got mixed together and became like this?”
Since the followers of the ‘Riders of Blood and Madness’ recognize them as comrades it seemed like they could be useful when infiltrating the Abyss.
Richmond returned from his demonic form back to his original human form.
After the purification was complete Zeke came out of the cave and returned to Wang Jumuk and his men.
And he followed the King’s Fist and the Barbarians towards the isolated village.
* * *
“Brother Zeke! Over here.”
The fortress village where the Rock Tribe was and the village where Golin was staying were quite far apart.
I thought I knew why the demons were isolated when they started showing strange signs.
This village was also a fortress village made of giant rocks with magic like the fortress of the Rock Tribe.
The barbarians cleared the rock at the entrance and led the way into the village.
Booooooooo!
As soon as they entered the villagers welcomed them by blowing horns.
“Help! Thanks!”
“You are very welcome!”
The young barbarian warriors smiled brightly at the hospitality of the townspeople.
The Barbarians were a closed people but they were simple-minded and true to their emotions.
The townspeople prepared a grilled Minotaur for the heroes who defeated the demon.
Wang Ju-Fuk sat Zeke down at the head of the table and eagerly explained his exploits in Bavarian language.
“Brother Zeke! He’s the best! Cut off Gudo-ryong’s head cut off!”
“Ooh! Snip snip snip!”
“Awesome awesome!”
The barbarians praised Zig’s majesty and brought him a bowl the size of a washbasin filling it with wine.
Of course since it was the alcohol of the Barbarians it was incomparably more toxic than the alcohol of humans.
Zig who had some understanding of the Barbarian culture drank all the poisoned liquor in the bowl.
The Barbarians cheered when they saw this sight.
“Zeke! Awesome awesome!”
“A real warrior! Totally awesome!”
For Zick who didn’t get drunk because of his healing factor it was just a full stomach.
Barbarians who wanted to befriend Zeke constantly offered him drinks.
‘If this keeps up I won’t die from a stomach explosion right?’
While he was thinking these absurd thoughts an old man approached Zeke.
“Thank you for saving the village.”
Surprisingly it was an old barbarian.
As an outsider it was rare to see an elderly barbarian.
Zeke guessed the old man’s status by seeing him speak the common language.
“Are you the village chief?”
It had a slightly different meaning from the general term used by humans to refer to the head of a small village as a village chief.
The old man nodded.
“That’s right. It is the rule that the former chieftain spends his old age in this sacred village where the breath of his ancestors dwells and serves as the village chief.”
The village chief pointed to a giant obelisk standing at the back of the village.
“That is a guardian tower built by our ancestors a long time ago. Each tribe has a guardian tower like this. Our people’s purpose in life is to protect that guardian tower and this land that contains the breath of our ancestors. Thanks to that we were able to protect both the tower and the land safely. I thought it was my duty to tell my benefactor what it was that saved us from as I am grateful to him.”
The story about the Barbarian guard tower was something even Zeke had never heard before.
As I looked at the guardian tower with my eyes wide open I felt an unprecedented power within it that was difficult even for me to discern.
‘Is it ancient magic?’
Perhaps it was the magic breathed into the air by dragons during the era of the Hero Kings.
There was also Caesar’s words that the dragons of that time left behind magic containing their power in various places to protect the phenomenal world.
Zig took his gaze off the Guardian Tower and told the village chief about his purpose.
“Chief I came here to find a dwarf named Golin.”
At Zeke’s words the village chief nodded brushing his beard away.
“Gollin is a very stubborn and skilled dwarf. It was hard to stop him when he said he would go hunt the shoe dragon with the weapon he made.”
The village chief laughed heartily as he spoke about Golin.
“Where is Golin now?”
The village chief said pointing towards the guardian tower.
“They’ve built a blacksmith shop nearby and are working on it. If you’re going to go you’d better brace yourself. There are so many strange things out there.”
Gorlin is probably the only dwarf who would hear such words from a barbarian.
Zeke nodded to the village chief’s words.
After that the Barbarians’ welcoming ceremony continued all night long.
After being fully acquainted with the welcoming ceremony Zeke left the sleeping barbarians behind as the sun rose the next day and headed to the place the village chief had told him to go.
Before going to Golin’s Blacksmith Shop he took a look around the guardian tower that the village chief had mentioned.
As I got closer I felt the mysterious power within it more strongly.
The surface of the stone obelisk was covered with unknown runes.
As he passed by Zeke suddenly felt like he had seen these runes somewhere before.
‘Wait a minute isn’t that similar to what’s engraved on my chest?’
Zeke tore through his clothes and absorbed Bahamut’s heart then examined the letters and diagrams engraved on his chest.
Seeing that it was indeed similar to the carvings on the Barbarian’s Guardian Tower Zeke became convinced that the creators of this tower were dragons.
Zeke reached out towards the Guardian Tower.
Then suddenly a message came to mind.
[1st Defense Base ‘Giant’s Tower’ Administrator System Detection]
[Administrator System Access]
[Check Code]
[Access denied due to code mismatch system]
“First Defense Base?”
The heavenly haven discovered in the Join tribe ghetto was the 4th defensive base.
Through the message that came to his mind Zeke realized that this place also served as a defensive base that prevented the invasion of the demons during the war of liberation.
‘By the way this is the first time I’ve been denied access to the administrator system.’
Most of the ruins had administrator access thanks to the titles I had been granted so far. However it seemed that no access code had been granted for this place.
‘I’m a little disappointed because I can’t connect like usual.’
Zeke climbed up past the Guardian Tower as the system became unresponsive.
But the higher I went the more I saw something strange.
“what’s this?”
There were strange structures made of scrap metal piled up like towers all over the hill.
Zig frowned at the sight of the bizarre sculpture.
‘Did Golin make it?’
Zig continued up the hill past the strange sculptures his expression heavy.
As I went up I saw a house built in the dwarven style up there.
It seemed to be Golin’s blacksmith shop.
But there were some scary things in front of the house.
‘Why are there siege weapons in front of the house?’
High-speed catapults and large baristas that could destroy walls and gates were placed everywhere.
Zeke had only heard that Golin had a quirky personality but he had never actually seen him or experienced his personality so the situation in front of his house was both strange and absurd.
That was when.
Kiriririk!
Suddenly the baristas in the yard started moving on their own and aimed at Zig.
“what?”
In an instant an arrow loaded into the barista was fired.
Phew!
Zeke drew Bahamut and struck down Barista’s arrow.
Dismissed!
It was almost like a spear not an arrow.
This time the high-speed catapult was in motion.
Kiriririk!
A solid rock was loaded onto the catapult aimed at Zig and fired as if pushing the rock away.
Kwaaaaang!
Zeke raised his aura as he saw the rock flying towards him.
Crunch-
The rock cut by the Auror Blade split open and rolled down the hill.
Zeke shouted towards the house.
“Gollin Jobern! I have come to you at the request of the Guild Federation!”
Zeke shouted but there was no response from inside the house.
Zik approached the door of the house knocking away flying rocks and arrows.
Then this time the flamethrower installed in front of the door spewed out a huge blast of flame.
Whoosh whoosh!
Zig unfurled Golin’s shield and blocked the flames.
That was when.
bang!
The forge door opened and a red-bearded dwarf shouted at Zeke.
“Hey where did you get that?”
Zeke turned his shield back into its scabbard and looked at the dwarf who had shouted at him.
“Is this Golin Jovern?”
Despite what Zeke said Golin did not respond and instead ran towards him.
“Where did you get that Inma?”
In Golin’s hand was a huge hammer.
He looked ready to swing his hammer at Zeke at any moment.
Zeke said calmly.
“I received it as a gift from your disciple Gelion.”
Golin was startled by those words.
“What? Gellion! That kid gave it to you?”
Zeke held out the Bahamut he was holding.
“This sword was made by Gelion.”
Golin looked at Zeke’s sword and became speechless for a moment.
And then soon my whole body started trembling.
“Gellion! How dare you! To handle a dragon fang that even I couldn’t touch!”
Golin swung his hammer around grumbling.
Zeke said to Golin.
“The Guild Federation has requested that we search for you who has gone missing…”
“Shut up! I’m not going!”
He was a dwarf who was even more eccentric than rumors said.
‘If you push this type it will have the opposite effect.’
Since Zik’s goal wasn’t to take Gorlin anyway he decided to get to the main point.
Besides since it was something that Golin would be interested in the conversation seemed easier.
“Equipped with Hersion.”
Crunch!
In an instant the ancient Hersion was installed on Zig’s body.
The excited Golin blankly stared at the Hersion equipped by Zig.
And then he screamed in one word.
“Oh Orichalcum?!”
