    Episode 119

As Zeke subdued the demons the barbarians also charged forward with their weapons again.

The demons that had been regenerating after receiving a major blow from Zeke were unable to withstand the attack and died when the barbarians rushed in all at once.

Before long the surrounding trees and rocks were covered in the demons’ black fluid.

    Keeek!

After defeating all the last demons Zeke approached Wang Jumeok.

“Long time no see Wang Ju-Fist.”

    Wang Ju-fuk nodded.

    “Thanks for your help Zeke.”

Wang Ju-fuk grabbed Zig and hugged him.

Then other barbarians approached the two.

“Wang Ju-Fist is that person human?”

Then Wang Ju-Fuk introduced Zig to them.

“It’s my brother Zeke. He’s the best.”

“I guess so. Are you human?”

Zeke nodded at the barbarians and said.

“I am human. Nice to meet you.”

Although the Barbarians were a closed race they were not a race that would turn away from a favor when they received help.

They recognized Zeke as a warrior.

    Zeke said to Wang Jumeok.

“Aren’t you from the Rock Tribe? Why are you with the other tribes?”

Wang Ju-Fuk’s face darkened at Zig’s words.

“The number of demons has increased. They have joined forces with other tribes.”

It seems that the Rock Tribe was unable to stop the demons with their own strength so they joined forces with other surrounding tribes.

Zeke looked surprised at Wang Ju-fuk’s words.

‘Barbarians rarely join forces with other tribes but the situation seems dire.’

Then Richmond appeared between the trees.

“Heh heh master. What if you leave me alone… Heek! Those barbarians…!”

Richmond was terrified when he saw a dozen or so barbarians gathered there chewing up even monsters.

    Zeke said to Richmond.

“You don’t have to be afraid since you’re not the enemy. Rather aren’t you too scared considering you were a rich man?”

Richmond said wiping away the cold sweat.

“Well that’s because I’ve spent almost my entire life studying monsters so I don’t have much combat experience.”

“It’s really unique in many ways.”

    “lol.”

Wang Ju-Fuk who had been waiting for the conversation to end told Zig to go to the village with him.

    “Can I enter the village?”

“It’s okay. My father is the chief.”

It was as rare for a human to be invited to a barbarian village as it was for an outsider to be invited to the Ishtar family.

‘He’s the son of a tribal chief so it’ll be okay.’

At Wang Ju-fist’s suggestion Zeke and Richmond followed the barbarians to the village.

    “Whoa.”

Richmond gaped at the entrance to the Bavarian village.

A fortress was built on top of the mountain made up of enormous rocks of enormous weight and size stacked up like a wall.

At this point it seemed like not only high-risk monsters but even demons would not be able to enter.

In fact when the Barbarians attack the fortress they intercept the enemies by throwing rocks from above.

In fact more terrifying than any weapon were the stones thrown by the barbarians.

This was the reason why human knights no matter how strong could not invade the Barbarian territory.

Zig who looked around with his eyes wide open realized a surprising fact.

‘There’s magic installed all over the fortress right?’

Ancient magic not modern magic was installed throughout the fortress.

Even if a magic unit came here and used large-scale siege magic the fortress would not collapse but rather would bounce the magic back causing damage to the enemies.

Zeke could see that the Barbarian civilization was more advanced than he had thought.

    “Brother Zeke. Wait a minute.”

Wang Jumuk and the other barbarian warriors approached the fortress entrance and combined their strength to push aside a huge rock.

    Kururururung!

A rock as big as a house was pushed to the side with a loud noise.

As the party entered the barbarians pushed the rock back into its original position.

Zeke and Richmond gaped at the absurd opening and closing method.

Wang Ju-Fist and the Barbarians took the two and headed inside the gate. As they entered the village they saw a surprising sight.

The city of the Barbarians which I had never seen before was spread out inside the fortress.

Houses made by piling up small rocks lined the mountainside and the streets and squares paved with flat stones as well as the stalls made of stone were impressive.

A barbarian was selling monster meat and skins at his stall and there were also places selling various miscellaneous goods.

There were also occasional shops that carried items from humans or other races.

Zeke looked at the Bavarian shop with admiration.

He had negotiated with and fought alongside barbarians in his past life but he had never entered a village like this before so he too was surprised by this sight.

Richmond who was interested in monster bones looked around the store with his eyes wide open.

“My lord! My goodness they also sell Caucasian and wyvern bones and hides!”

Zeke asked Richmond to look around the shops and decided to go with Wang Jumuk to meet the chief.

It was to ask about the whereabouts of Golin whom he had come to find.

As the name suggests the chieftain of the Rock Tribe lived in a building carved out of a huge rock.

Wang Ju-fuk went inside first and shouted.

    “Dad! Come with me Zeke!”

Inside the rock a barbarian larger and more fierce-looking than Wang Jumuk was meditating with his eyes closed.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked at Wang Jumuk with wide eyes.

Then Wang Ju-fuk flinched and stepped back.

    “Why why then.”

Big Foot the father of Wang Jumeok and the chieftain of the Rock Tribe slowly rose to his feet.

It was a huge creature reminiscent of a giant from a legend.

It made sense that the Barbarians were said to have descended from ancient giants.

Bigfoot opened his mouth towards Zeke.

“You must be embarrassed because of my reckless child.”

The chieftain with his deep voice spoke in his fluent common language.

Zeke answered the chief’s words in surprise.

    “You speak a common language.”

“That’s one of the biggest reasons other warriors don’t want to be the chieftain. Sit over here.”

Bigfoot told Wangjumuk to stay out and offered Zeke the place where the fire was lit.

Bigfoot brought a large pot of water placed it on the fire and threw in a few sticks.

After a while when the water started to boil Bigfoot scooped up some water from the branches into a huge bowl and handed it to Zig.

It was a treat for the Barbarians but for Zeke it was little more than a washbasin.

    “thank you.”

Zeke picked up the washbasin with an interested expression wondering what the Bavarian tea tasted like.

It had a slightly bitter taste but it was refreshing and I liked it.

Bigfoot stared blankly at such a jiggle.

The treat he gave was not of a weight that a normal human could lift.

Nevertheless Zeke took the bowl and drank the tea without any hesitation.

As Zeke emptied his tea and put down his bowl Bigfoot opened his mouth.

“You seem to be no ordinary human being. A knight perhaps.”

    Zeke nodded.

“Yes. I am of Draker’s blood.”

Bigfoot frowned for a moment at Zeke’s words.

It seemed that Draker’s name was known even to the Barbarians.

Bigfoot soon relaxed his expression and opened his mouth.

“You are the human who helped my child before you were a Draker blood relative. I want to repay that favor.”

    Then Zeke said to Bigfoot.

“I’m looking for a dwarf. He’s a famous blacksmith. I heard he’s been lost around here.”

    Bigfoot nodded at Zeke’s words.

    “That’s a stupid statement.”

    Zeke said with a smile.

    “Do you know him?”

“A master craftsman like Golin deserves to be welcomed. Our tribe is confident in stonework but lacks the skills to handle iron.”

“I see. Golin’s skills are well known even among humans.”

Zig took out the scabbard he had received from Gelion and showed it to Bigfoot.

“This is a gift from Golin’s human disciple.”

Bigfoot looked at the scabbard that Zig handed him and nodded.

“I remember. It was the first work of art that Golin created by mixing the parts of monsters we caught with minerals. I remember how passionate he was about creating a weapon that surpassed weapons.”

Zeke was surprised by the unexpected big footsteps.

    “This scabbard was made here?”

Zig asked in bewilderment at the story that seemed impossible in terms of time.

“We’ve had a connection with that stubborn dwarf craftsman for quite some time now. He often comes here when he’s having trouble making new creations.”

“You’re saying this isn’t the first time Golin has come here?”

“About 10 years ago he happened to come into our area and we invited him as a guest after seeing his special talents.”

“Oh I see. So Golin is staying in this town?”

Bigfoot’s expression darkened at Zeke’s words.

“No Golin is in the village beyond that mountain. The problem is… because of the demons contact between the villages has been cut off for several months now.”

Zeke said looking at the big feet.

“As I was climbing the mountain the demons’ reactions were strange. They were regenerating faster than usual and didn’t die even when I killed them. Is this how the demons in this area usually act?”

Then the chief shook his head.

“No. The Rock Tribe has long served as sentinels here preventing the demons from leaving the world. In all those years this is the first time we have seen the demons react like this.”

Zig grimaced at the sight of Bigfoot’s feet.

“It’s clear that something unusual has occurred. Do you have any idea what it might be?”

Then the big foot slowly opened its mouth.

“Mankind has been coming to our land for several years now. They have been digging up the land where our ancestors’ power was embedded destroying the forests and the land.”

Zeke realized that the big feet were talking about hunting dogs.

“I tore and killed all the bastards who came looking for me but they didn’t stop and kept coming. Unlike before they moved stealthily and dug up our land. And then….”

    His expression darkened.

“You touched a place you shouldn’t have touched.”

    “What are you talking about?”

“They woke up the sleeping monster.”

As Zeke listened to Bigfoot’s words something flashed through his mind.

    ‘no way?’

Bigfoot said with a serious expression.

“The Nine-Headed Dragon has escaped the sealed area and come out.”

    Zeke’s prediction was correct.

The Hydra we saw in Caesar’s Resting Place seemed to have left there and come out of the area.

‘Even Hydra is a corrupted dragon. Does that mean that it has influenced other demons?’

It was incomprehensible that the Hydra which had been in the area where Caesar’s resting place had been for a long time suddenly went berserk leading its demons and causing an uproar among the monsters throughout the mountain range.

Zeke thought back to the various experiments the Empire had conducted.

‘What did these guys do to Hydra and the Demons?’

Since it was an empire that had conducted various tests on monsters and demons it was possible that they had done something that could provoke Hydra.

Zig said looking at the big feet.

“It means we can’t enter the village where Golin is until we deal with the demons that are showing strange signs.”

“That’s the case for now. We’ve gathered together with the chieftains of other tribes and the young warriors of each tribe have joined forces but it’s difficult to catch the saddle dragon with just them. Of course if the chieftains including myself step forward the chances of success in the hunt will be higher….”

Zig shook his head at Bigfoot’s words.

“If that happens the humans you mentioned might take advantage of that gap and attack the village.”

    Bigfoot also nodded.

“We were also worried about that part so we couldn’t move carelessly.”

“Is there anywhere else I can go for help?”

“I tried contacting the Hermit of the Forest but I don’t know when he’ll arrive.”

When the words ‘Hermit of the Forest’ came out of Bigfoot’s mouth Zeke felt his body stiffen and a cold sweat run down his body.

Bigfoot tilted his head at Zig’s sudden reaction.

    “But why?”

Zeke shook his head sweat dripping down his face.

    “Oh no.”

    Zeke took a deep breath.

‘If you are the hermit of the forest then you are the master’s nickname. If I waste time I might run into you.’

The Master was one of those people whom I wanted to avoid meeting.

    Zeke asked Bigfoot again.

“Then is it also unclear whether the people in that village are alive or dead?”

“If he were inside the fortress he wouldn’t be easily defeated by even the most valiant of dragons or demons but given Golin’s personality I can’t guarantee that he’d just sit there. He’s a friend who’s good at going to dangerous places to get valuable materials.”

He was a dwarf of great ability as he was famous for being an eccentric craftsman.

‘It’s fortunate that you don’t rush at the Hydra with an axe yourself to get the materials.’

Zig felt like he needed to get down here and solve the problem quickly on several fronts.

Zig got up straight from his seat and spoke to Bigfoot.

    “Chief please gather your warriors.”

    “Why are the warriors….”

“I will defeat Guduryong and go get Golin.”
