    Episode 114

    “Arararararara!”

Those who appeared with loud shouts were none other than the warriors of the Join tribe.

The warriors of the Zun tribe with their strong beaks and huge bodies and adorned with colorful feathers and ornaments rode forth on horseback.

    Whirlirik!

The Zun warriors threw the hatchets they were holding.

    Kkwaduk!

A powerful axe split the skull of the horse the knights were riding.

    “this!”

Knowing that they were Drake’s knights he strategically targeted the horses thinking they would be able to strike them with their axes.

At the same time the Zun warriors behind them used catapults to throw magic bombs from afar.

    Hooooooooooo!

The magic bomb fell accurately thanks to the combination of the unique power of the Join tribe and their delicate throwing skills.

    Kwakwakwakwakwang!

The Red Lion Knights like the knights of Draker quickly dodged and got out of the range of the magical blast.

The warriors of the Zun tribe that appeared did not come close as they had a lot of experience dealing with knights but instead threw their weapons from afar.

Then among the warriors of the Zun tribe those with large bodies and black feathers stepped forward.

    Hooooooooooo!

They swung their iron clubs the traditional weapons of the Zou tribe and shouted out their commandments.

    “Kiyooooooooooo!”

    “Kiyooooooo!”

    “Arararararara!”

The knights hesitated and stepped back as the commandment echoed throughout the wasteland.

They were warriors of the Blackwing tribe known for being fierce and strong among the Join tribes.

The warriors of the Blackwing tribe were as powerful as any knight who could wield Auror.

The sudden appearance of the Join tribe unit made the Red Lion Knights look away from Zeke and wary of them.

William who had grasped the situation shouted at the Join warrior at the front.

“We are the Knights of Draker! We are on a mission so stand down immediately.”

Then one of the Blackwing tribe warriors with a relatively small build stepped forward.

Although he was small in stature his sharp eyes and the aura he gave off were extraordinary.

    He spoke fluent continental languages.

“You have invaded our territory and destroyed the temples where the spirits of our ancestors reside.”

It appears that the Zun warriors also came out to assess the situation after seeing the ruins collapse.

William spoke to the Join warrior.

“That has nothing to do with us.”

    “It doesn’t matter.”

He said taking a step forward.

“Humans greedily seek the mysteries of our species. In the end that greed will consume them and destroy your own species.”

Abel who was watching this said.

“If you continue to interfere with our mission you will be considered enemies of Drake.”

At Abel’s words the Red Lion Knights who had been retreating drew their weapons.

However since they were clearly outnumbered by the warriors of the Join tribe there was a tense atmosphere.

Then the Join warrior nodded to the other warriors behind him.

The clothes the warriors were wearing were lifted.

Underneath the clothes of the Join tribe warriors a huge amount of magical energy bombs were installed.

If just one exploded it would be enough to blow away the entire area.

Abel frowned when he saw this.

This is because it was common for the immortal warriors of the Zun tribe to charge forward carrying magic bombs.

The Red Lion Knights were discouraged by the will of the Jo-in tribe.

William approached Abel and whispered quietly.

“Abel there’s no need to clash with the Joiners here. It’s a waste of energy.”

As the site of the Join tribe collapsed all the temples and experimental results that were being excavated were lost.

There was no need to waste the precious resource of knights here.

Abel who understood William’s words spoke to the Join warrior.

“Very well. I apologize for entering your territory. We have no intention of staying here long. However that outlaw murdered our knights. As soon as we catch him we will leave this place.”

Zeke was looking for an escape route while watching the standoff between Abel and the Join tribe.

    ‘Because of the Join tribe.’

    Then something crossed Zeke’s mind.

‘The Blackwing Tribe… the charisma that unites warriors from other tribes.’

I remembered a famous warrior from my past life.

The leader of the Water People Revolutionary Army who rose up to fight for the freedom of the persecuted Water People of the Central Continent.

The one leading the Western Revolutionary Army at that time was a black-feathered warrior from the Zhao tribe.

‘Was the name the song of the crouching flame?’

It was clear that the warriors led by the Crouching Flame Song the leader of the revolutionary army were not to be trifled with.

    That was when.

Morgan’s Hersion which had been lying down was dismantled.

    ‘It’s an opportunity.’

Zig pulled the chain and lifted Morgan up from the ground grabbing him by the collar in an instant.

Then he shouted in the common language mixed with a northern dialect.

“You Drakers! If you keep chasing me I won’t live!”

Morgan bound by the soul sealing technique was held helpless and could only gasp for breath without being able to fight back.

Abel was already having a hard time with the Zou tribe threatening him with bombs but he was getting even more annoyed when even their commander Morgan was taken hostage.

    Ddddddddddd—

The ground began to shake around Abel.

Before I knew it his eyes were red and glowing.

William who was watching Abel from the side made an anxious expression.

    “Ah Abel. Calm down.”

If Abel went berserk and Morgan died here the connection they had built with the Empire could all be severed.

Zeke watched Abel’s unexpected reaction carefully.

‘What is that power of Abel?’

A different kind of energy was felt from Abel than Aura.

    Ddddddddddd—

At William’s words Abel barely managed to muster up his patience and come to his senses.

Soon the shaking of the ground stopped.

    ‘Now is the time!’

In that moment Zig grabbed Morgan by the collar and threw him towards the group of Joiners.

“Song of the Crouching Flame! He is the commander of the Imperial Garrison Legion! Take care of it!”

As the flying Morgan fell towards the Join warriors the crouching Flame Song was startled and gestured to the other warriors.

The Join warriors rushed in and captured Morgan.

Taking advantage of the gap Zig started running in the opposite direction.

Abel shouted at the knights as he saw Zeke running away.

    “Fuck! Catch that guy!”

Abel couldn’t leave because he had to get Morgan back from the Joiners.

The enraged Zunin tribesmen were able to skin Morgan alive after learning his true identity as the commander of the garrison.

Zeke ran through the wasteland with the will to speed.

Behind him several Red Lion Knights followed Zeke.

    ‘That’s good.’

He immediately turned around and threw chains randomly towards the Red Lion Knights.

    “Ugh!”

The knight bound in chains fell from his horse.

Zeke leapt into the air and climbed onto the horse the knight had missed.

Then he took out his sword and cut down the other knights.

    “Kwaaak!”

Using a healing buff on his horse Zeke shook off the Red Lion Knights and ran towards the border area.

    * * *

    “Master!”

Liam and Felix greet Zeke as he returns to the border headquarters after barely escaping the pursuers.

    Zeke looked visibly exhausted.

Liam asked with a worried look.

    “Are you okay my lord?”

“…I can’t say it’s okay. Liam get me a cup of tea.”

Liam quickly poured the tea and placed it in front of Zeke.

It was Zeke who had been moving back and forth across the wasteland for several days erasing his tracks while trying to evade the pursuers and the night killers.

As I drank the warm tea my body relaxed. Only then did I feel like my mission was completely accomplished.

Then Felix came up next to Zeke.

“Master where have you been for the past few days? The princess has been looking for you for quite some time.”

    “The princess? What’s the matter?”

“That’s what they said. They said the imperial garrison was withdrawing.”

    “Hoo.”

As planned by Zeke the Crouching Flame Song seemed to have successfully negotiated with the Imperial forces by taking Morgan hostage.

From the imperial army’s perspective there was no reason to target the ineffective Join ghetto since the ruins had already been destroyed.

    Zeke nodded.

    “That went well.”

At that moment Princess Melissa came into the room having heard the news.

    “Sir Zeke!”

She ran towards Zeke and hugged him.

Felix and Liam looked at each other as they watched Princess Melissa like that and then left the room.

Princess Melissa realized her actions and startled pulled away from Zeke.

“I’m so sorry. I was worried that something might have happened to Sir Zeke…”

“It’s okay. I heard that the imperial garrison has withdrawn.”

Melissa quickly changed her expression and relayed the situation.

“Yes. Commander Morgan suddenly gave the order to withdraw for some reason. I don’t think it’s because of the confrontation with us. I think there’s something else.”

Zeke didn’t bother to bring up the topic of the ruins to Melissa.

Although they were currently allies they were not obligated to share all the information they had.

‘I guess I should keep the information about the experiment of creating monsters with the blood of demons to myself for now.’

    Then Melissa said to Zeke.

“Oh Sir Jik I have one more piece of good news.”

    “What news?”

“The supply of safflower medicine has returned smoothly. Thanks to this the speed at which the disease spread in the border area has significantly slowed down.”

It seemed that the safflower experiment had ended along with the collapse of the laboratory.

‘It may be happening somewhere else not here.’

Zeke smiled at Melissa without saying anything.

“That’s great. The safflower disease that has spread in the border area may soon be put to an end.”

“It’s all thanks to Sir Zeke. On behalf of Alencia I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you.”

Zeke bowed his head and answered Melissa’s greeting.

    Then he slowly got up.

“Then I will rest for a bit and then go.”

Melissa was taken aback by Zeke’s sudden words.

“Are you going? Where are you going?”

    Zeke said tilting his head.

“We must return to Atlas. The Princess must also return to Alencia. You must be busy.”

Melissa assumed that Zeke would follow her to Alencia given that he had come here willingly and their previous conversations.

Melissa who had developed a deep affection for Zeke was excited to tour the famous sights of Alencia with him and discuss future business.

Melissa who is now twenty-nine has never been in a proper relationship because she is so busy with work that she doesn’t even know how to express her feelings.

Zeke also lived not only indifferently to love but also feeling that such feelings were a luxury.

He said he was going back because he didn’t feel the need to stay in Alencia any longer since the border issue had been resolved.

Melissa was worried about letting Zeke go like this and was wondering how to keep him.

Just then someone came into the room.

    “Master Ma.”

Felix came in with an embarrassed expression feeling like he had broken the good atmosphere for no reason.

Zeke spoke to Felix with an indifferent expression.

    “What’s wrong Felix?”

“I’m really sorry to interrupt your good time. I have an urgent matter to contact…”

“Stop talking nonsense and get to the point.”

“I received a call from the Four Seasons asking me to enter.”

“In the Four Seasons? What’s going on?”

“The official knight induction ceremony will be held soon so you must attend.”

After receiving the title of knight a Drake’s knight undergoes several years of training and apprenticeship.

If you survive the training period and become qualified to join you will have the opportunity to attend an official initiation ceremony and choose the knight order you will join.

The formal initiation ceremony to become a true Draker Knight was one of the most important events among the many Draker events.

    Zeke said looking at Melissa.

“There is no time to relax. I must leave immediately. See you next time Your Highness.”

Princess Melissa greeted Zeke with a stern expression and a forced smile.

“Yeah that’s right. But next time I really want to see Alencia together.”

“I will look forward to it Your Majesty.”

Melissa’s face brightened up quickly at Zeke’s formal answer.

Zeke left the border headquarters and returned to Atlas just as he had brought Felix and Liam.

    * * *

A few days later all the knights of the Draker Order including the head of the family and the elder guardian knights gathered at the Four Seasons Castle Atumfell where the official knight initiation ceremony of the Draker family was held.

The great halls of Atumfell were filled with Draker’s knights.

But there was something strange about the expressions on the knights’ faces.

Arthur Draker the landlord broke the silence and asked Zeke.

“I ask you again. Zeke Draker which order will you choose?”

Then Zeke opened his mouth and spoke in a clear voice.

“My answer remains the same. I will not choose any place.”
