    Episode 100

    Phew!

    The sandstorm has subsided.

The two figures were revealed and surprisingly Zeke was aiming Bahamut at the neck of the Ishtar warrior.

    Zeke spoke to the warrior.

“It seems like the god of the earth has passed judgment.”

At Zeke’s words the Ishtar warrior nodded quietly.

As he put his sword away the warrior slowly rose to his feet.

As the two emerged from the pit another Ishtar warrior came running with a surprised voice.

    “miss!”

The tall Ishtar warrior who fought Zeke communicated something with his hand gestures.

Then the warrior who was running towards him made a surprised expression.

    “Oh the young lady lost?”

He seemed to have been quite shocked.

Zeke said as he took the sword.

“The Earth God has passed judgment. We can no longer be held accountable for disobeying the order to evade the curse so open the way. We must go to the Central Continent as soon as possible.”

Then the tall warrior gestured again and conveyed something to the other warrior.

The short warrior was surprised again.

“Are you inviting them to your home?”

Even Zeke who was standing next to him was surprised by those words.

‘Was it 150 years ago that the Ishtar family last invited guests?’

The Ishtar family was a very closed place.

Then the short warrior spoke to Zeke.

“…The young lady said she will open a portal so that you can quickly travel to the Central Continent so follow me.”

Zeke was surprised again by those words.

“A portal? Does that mean the Ishtar family has their own portal?”

The short warrior did not answer Zeke’s words.

Then the tall warrior gestured for Zeke to follow him.

Zeke thought about it for a while and then said to Simon and Boris.

“It seems like there is no hostility so let’s just follow along.”

The Ishtar family I had experienced in my previous life was a place that protected the laws and the judgments of the gods of the earth as if they were its own life.

Zeke placed the badly injured Boris on horseback and followed the Ishtar warriors on foot with Simon and Karus.

Carus was reminded of a strange excitement.

“We are so lucky to be able to visit the House of Zik Ishtar in person.”

    “…I’m glad you think so.”

Karus was at peace despite almost dying.

As we dug deeper into the area breaking through the harsh sandstorm we soon found ourselves in a desert area rather than a wasteland.

The sight of the vast desert covered in white star sand created a mysterious atmosphere.

The Ishtar warriors entered the desert.

Zik turned on the map and was recording the routes of the Ishtar warriors.

But strangely enough it seemed like I was just walking straight ahead but the route marked on the map was going in a random direction.

    ‘The mystery of the desert.’

It seemed like there was a path that only the Ishtar family knew about.

    That was when.

It was clearly a desert with nothing visible until just a moment ago but now something was visible in the distance.

    “Ohhh.”

Carus let out an exclamation from the side.

He was excited at the prospect of seeing the main house of the Ishtar family which he had only heard about.

    Then the short warrior snapped.

“Outsiders will never be able to enter this place so don’t wander around the desert looking for this place again.”

As Zeke had expected there seemed to be a special way to enter the main house.

Zeke and his party slowly entered the city of Ishtar which was built in the middle of the desert.

    * * *

“Oh my god there’s such a big city in the middle of the desert!”

As soon as he entered the city Karus was filled with admiration.

The city of Ishtar which had a completely different atmosphere from the Central Continent actually looked similar to the style of the Eastern Empire.

Most of them were wearing nameless clothes and covering their faces with chadors but those who did not cover their faces were the only ones who looked like people from the Central Continent.

‘The Ishtar family are all believers in the fierce earth god. It seems that only the non-believers show their faces.’

I thought it would be a very solemn and quiet atmosphere because it was a closed city but I was surprised to find that it was no different from any other city.

The market was bustling with activity and abundant supplies.

Zeke wondered how such materials could enter such a closed and independent city.

‘Even if I ask you won’t tell me.’

Zik and his party walked around the market and followed the Ishtar warriors to the main palace in the center of the city.

As they arrived in front of the main palace the gatekeepers guarding the gate looked wary of outsiders like Zeke and his party.

Then the short warrior said to the gatekeepers

“These are the young lady’s guests. I will report inside myself.”

The gatekeepers bowed their heads politely and then returned to their original posture.

The inside of the palace was as expected very quiet and solemn unlike the city.

People walking around didn’t even make a sound and there were no traces of people inside the palace to begin with.

It was like looking at a monastery landscape.

The short warrior spoke to Zeke and his men.

“I’ll show you to your room so rest there for a while. After reporting to the elders of the family we’ll decide what to do.”

It didn’t seem like I could use the portal right away.

Zeke and his party entered the room guided by another guide.

As soon as he entered the room Zeke laid Boris down and examined his condition.

Even though I drank the potion I was able to overcome the dangerous situation.

Zig took an ancient potion out of his inventory.

It was something that was much more effective than a normal potion.

He sprinkled the potion on Boris’s wounds and fed him what was left.

I would have gotten better quickly if I had used healing but I was reluctant to show my healing talents in front of others so I used a potion.

    “Euuuuum.”

    “How about Boris?”

    “Boss… I’m going to die.”

“I’m not dead yet so don’t joke around.”

    Boris slowly got up.

“Ugh. But where is this place?”

    “This is Ishtar’s main palace.”

    “yes?”

    Boris looked around in surprise.

    Then Zeke reassured him.

“It’s okay. You have been invited as a guest of the Ishtar family so you can rest assured.”

Despite what Zeke had said Boris was still on guard when he came into the Ishtar family’s stronghold a place filled with experts in the art of murder.

Then the servants came in and prepared the food.

It was frugal like monastery food but it was light and the natural flavor of the ingredients was preserved.

After finishing his meal Zeke drank the tea the servant brought.

“…Hmm? This is a flavor I’ve never tasted before. Does the Ishtar family grow their own tea?”

The attendant nodded at Zeke’s words.

“You are very knowledgeable about tea. This tea is a hybrid of a variety that grows in desert areas and can only be tasted here.”

Zik nodded and savored the scent of the tea.

It felt as if the fragrance of precious oriental tea had been condensed several times over but it was not excessive and came out gently giving me great satisfaction.

‘If I go to the market it’s sold as a specialty. I want to buy it and take it with me.’

It was Jik who sipped the tea he was tasting for the first time little by little.

Zig regained his composure and looked around the group. Karus had taken out a small sketchbook and was drawing the scenery of the city of Ishtar that he had seen.

Zeke said as he looked at Carus like that.

“If you leak that out carelessly the mystics of Ishtar might come looking for you Karus.”

At those words Karus hiccuped in surprise then quietly folded up his sketchbook.

Then I closed my eyes and tried to picture the city scenery in my mind.

    That was when.

    Someone came into the room.

These were the two warriors who brought Zeke and his party to the palace.

The short warrior dropped his previous overbearing attitude and greeted me politely then said:

“The elders of the family have invited you as their official guests. There will be a dinner for the guests in the evening so please be sure to attend.”

Zig rose from his seat and bowed his head to the warriors as he spoke.

“We gladly accept the invitation of the House of Ishtar. May the protection of the Earth God be with the Guardians of the Desert.”

    Then the short warrior answered.

“May the god of the earth bless you the travelers of the desert. Please forgive my previous rudeness. My name is Ezgi Ishtar. And this is Yelin Ishtar.”

    Zeke said looking at Yellin.

“It seems that Yelin Ishtar is practicing silence.”

Yellin nodded slightly at those words.

Zeke spoke to the two of them.

    “My name is Zeke Draker.”

Yellin and Ezugi were surprised by those words.

    “Dr. Draker…? Oh my god.”

Yellin and Ezgi looked at Zeke with curiosity.

    “…Why are you doing that?”

Ezugi said in a doubtful voice.

“No all Drakers have horns on their heads pointy teeth and they always laugh like the devil…”

At those words Zeke retorted with a look of bewilderment.

“They say that in the Central Continent the Ishtar family drinks poison like water with every meal.”

At those words Ezugi got angry and shouted.

“How can you drink poison every meal! How expensive is that! You drink it once a day or not. Oh you could have taken it every meal.”

Anyway he said he was going to drink. Zeke let out a small laugh at the unexpected words.

After finishing the necessary conversation Ezugi checked whether or not there were horns on Zeke’s head until the end and then was dragged out by Yellin.

Simon who was watching this snickered.

“I thought the Ishtar family was a heartless place but it turns out there are people here too.”

    Zeke nodded.

“That’s right. But why is it rumored that Drakers have horns on their heads…? Dara let out a loud laugh. Does anyone laugh like that?”

Then Carus who was standing next to him spoke up.

“Zeke that’s a metaphor. It’s a metaphor to say that the Draker family is like the devil. The Draker family has a lot of grudges and is very vicious.”

“…Okay. Thank you for the kind explanation Karus.”

It was Karus who had a proud expression on his face at Zeke’s words.

When evening came the guides gave Zeke and his party nameless clothes.

Boris who had not yet recovered from his injuries decided to stay in his room and Simon decided to stay and guard him.

Karus and Zikman who were excited to be invited to the Ishtar Family Banquet changed into plain clothes and followed their guide to the banquet hall.

When I went to the banquet hall there was a huge round table prepared and people wearing plain clothes were sitting in a row in front of it.

Yellin and Ezugi who had invited Zeke greeted them from the front and guided them to the round table.

Zeke and Karus sat awkwardly at the round table.

Then one of those sitting at the table slowly got up from his seat.

The face was covered so I couldn’t tell who it was but a clear and pure voice rang out.

“After 153 years a guest has come to visit our family. As the head of the household I would like to convey this joy to the god of the earth.”

Then all the others joined their hands and gave thanks to the god of the earth.

The head of the household spoke to Zig.

“Sir Zeke Draker guided by the god of the earth has come to the house. We welcome you as a guest of Ishtar. Please rise and offer a blessing for this wondrous meeting.”

Zeke slowly got up from his seat.

Then he spoke in an ancient Eastern language.

“The Earth God who presides over mystery and wonder has arranged this meeting. We wish to express our gratitude for his wisdom and wisdom and above all to instil the order of the law.”

The Ishtar family were impressed by Zik’s fluent speaking of the ancient oriental language and his formal speech.

They nodded with satisfied faces and looked at Zeke.

As soon as Zeke finished speaking and sat down the head of the household spoke.

“It is a happy day so let’s all take off our chadors and welcome the guests.”

Then all the members of the Ishtar family were so excited that they took off their chadors.

Zeke and Karus were shocked when they saw the Ishtar people with their faces revealed.

    ‘They’re all so beautiful…!’

Although the Graham family was famous for its beauty in the Central Continent even they could not compare to the Ishtar family.

They had various hair colors some with white skin and some with black skin.

But what they all had in common was that they were all handsome and beautiful.

Just by looking at their appearance it was hard to imagine that they were from the Ishtar family famous for being a family of murderous sorcerers.

Zeke turned his head and looked at Yellin who had been fighting him.

Her mysterious emerald hair flowed down in waves and her face resembled a perfect statue made of marble.

Karus also opened his mouth wide when he saw Yellin.

But Zeke was shocked in another way.

It was because I discovered Yellin’s long pointed ears.

    ‘Elf?’
