596 (Part 2)
“How does it feel to see me in person?”
“…It was more than I expected.”
“Heh.”
It was unbearable to force out a laugh that didn’t suit me.
For reference the sound of laughter was inspired by the defeated.
“How did you find this place? I don’t know how you dealt with the formations but… coming here alone means you have business with me.”
“Did I not say from the beginning? I came because I have business with you.”
“Well then what business brings you here on such a precious journey?”
The leader reached out his hand into the air.
Then.
Whoooosh-!!
Something flew from the distant darkness and landed in the leader’s hand.
It was a club the size of his own body.
Thud-!
He slammed the club down onto the ground.
It was a weapon I was familiar with.
‘That’s the club the leader used.’
The one that smashed many skulls.
Was it said to be made by mixing eternal iron?
‘It’s just a solid club but…’
The leader wielding it was no different from a demon.
“If this conversation isn’t going to be serious the next one won’t be so peaceful.”
“…”
It was a warning that he would engage in battle if I said something strange.
I calculated after hearing that.

What would happen if I fought the leader here?
‘What could happen? It’s certain defeat.’
Defeat was guaranteed.
My physical condition wasn’t even good and even if I fought at my best it would be hard to win against him.
The leader was that formidable of an opponent.
However.
“Interesting.”
Whoooosh–!!
“…!”
Even knowing that I had no intention of backing down.
I opened my heart and let my energy flow out.
It was still painful.
But I didn’t care.
The energy that made my body suffer was emanating from a level far above mine.
The aura the leader emitted was fierce.
But I wouldn’t be overwhelmed by it.
Zzzzzzt.
Our energies intertwined distorting the space around us.
I pushed forward.
Boom-!
My energy swallowed and crushed the leader’s energy.
The quality of the energy was higher for the leader but in this energy battle I would not be outmatched.
‘How much have I consumed until now?’
Even if I looked around the Central Plains there would be few who could surpass the amount of energy I had now.
Unless they brought my past self back.
It was impossible for someone like the leader.
“Hah….”
The leader who was momentarily pushed back in the energy battle let out a sigh.
He seemed to have sustained some internal damage.
“Captain Cheonra.”
I called out to the leader.
“I will overlook you this once because I have a good impression of you.”
He gathered the energy swirling in the air and threw it against the wall.
Boom-!!
A loud sound echoed from the invisible wall.
Ah did I throw it too hard…?

“…”
Swoosh.
I felt the grip on the club in the leader’s hand loosen slightly.
“My apologies.”
He took a step back.
Thank goodness. I was worried he might rush at me…
“Is the trickery all done? If you want go ahead and try more.”
I pretended to be tough.
While internally screaming for him not to.
“I was just checking if you are truly the person from the rumors.”
The leader showed no signs of being provoked by my taunt.
I sighed inwardly.
It felt like I had passed a crisis.
“Was that the answer you wanted?”
“…”
The leader nodded slightly.
“What reason does someone like you have to come here?”
After a fierce psychological battle we finally reached the main topic.
It had turned out well in the end but I had to work hard to hide my cold sweat.
“Just as it happens I have something to do here…”
I said with a wink at the leader.
“I heard someone is trying to take care of business in Henan so I thought I might as well see their face.”
“…”
At my words the leader’s brow furrowed. I could sense a hint of hostility.
“That means… this area is yours so don’t move around freely—”
“That’s incorrect.”
I cut him off sensing that it would become dangerous if I let him continue.
“Do as you please if you want to. I don’t concern myself with such trivial matters.”
“What if I do?”
“However.”
I spread two fingers to show the leader.
“There are two things you must do.”
“What?”
“If you accomplish these I won’t care what you do.”
Crack.
Unable to hold back any longer the leader’s body trembled.
I could feel his aura rising.
“I acknowledge your confidence but it seems you don’t know your limits.”
Grrrr.
The aura was different from before.
It seemed he was genuinely revealing his intentions now.
My fingertips trembled.
I hid it discreetly with my sleeve.
“If you think I would value my life after being treated like this—!”
“You are a filthy specter who had ambitions in the past.”
He paused.
As I spoke the leader momentarily halted his actions.
“Even if your name has been erased and your clan has fallen it seems you couldn’t break your useless pride.”
“This—!”
The leader tried to express his strength at my words.
“Don’t you want to crush the pact?”
He had no choice but to stop again at my words.
Looking at the distorted face of the leader I continued speaking.
“Don’t you want to destroy those wretched beings that tore you apart?”
“…That doesn’t matter even if you are gone.”
Confidence was evident in his words.
I didn’t know what he was planning but it seemed he wasn’t just preparing for something trivial.
‘I might have failed in my past life but who knows now?’
The environment had changed drastically from then.
Moreover now was a particularly chaotic time for the Alliance Leader.
It was during the preparation for the martial arts competition and an incident had occurred with the shamans.
Now would be the perfect time to strike Henan.
However.
“Captain Cheonra.”
That was a story for when I wasn’t around.
“Do you think what I’m saying is a request? Don’t be mistaken.”
“…!”
“I don’t make requests.”
This was important.
As if I didn’t care about the aura I spoke more leisurely.
“This is a test I am giving you.”
The club you are holding is nothing to me.
I had to embody that thought with my whole being.
“If you can’t even pass this easy test you will die here.”
At those words the leader’s eyes widened.
I had to ponder over that.
What was this?
Wasn’t it too early to be surprised?
“Not only did you defeat an Elder of the shamans in one blow but you are also a being capable of displaying such aura.”
The leader spoke as if he was convinced.
In that moment I rolled my eyes. I had already identified my escape route.
If it came to that I had to run immediately.
“Indeed. You are….”
At that moment.
“The one who has disappeared the Three Lords.”
“Huh?”
I couldn’t help but let out a trivial original voice at the leader’s words.
“The Defeated Lord Bijoo.”
It was a shocking statement.
“That person indeed.”
“…”
He looked at me with eyes that seemed to have figured it out.
I turned my body which was about to flee and subtly adjusted my stance.
And I made my choice.
Choices always had to be made quickly.
“Heh.”
I let out a slight laugh and said to the leader.
“You aren’t as dull as I thought.”
There was no hesitation in my words.
I didn’t know what it was but.
In this moment.
I decided to momentarily become the Defeated Lord.
