Childhood Friend of the Zenith – 583 (Part 2)

583 (Part 2)
She preferred the current situation over that.
She could feel the heat.
It was different from the sharp cold of her hometown.
Unlike the empty streets that were deserted out of fear of the cold this place was filled with the sounds of people.
Just as she had seen in a book long ago.
The woman was very pleased with the current situation.
‘Yes… I wanted to see this.’
It was the sight she had longed for.
It felt just like the background she had imagined. That was truly wonderful.
The woman touched her shoulder.
She felt a slight pain.
‘Did I get hurt?’
It was probably nothing serious. It didn’t hurt that much.
Just before while wandering around Hyun she had encountered a man.
The man looking desperate had pushed her away forcefully and disappeared.
As a result she had fallen to the ground.
That seemed to be the issue from that moment.
‘Hmm…’
It wasn’t serious enough to require treatment so she could get over it.
Perhaps it was because this was a situation she had never experienced in her hometown but even this felt mysterious.
Central Plains. Truly a mysterious place.
“Where should I go next?”
The woman muttered as she moved her steps.
There wasn’t much time.
She had managed to escape by luck but it felt like she would be caught soon anyway.

Even if that weren’t the case she had to head in the direction of her own feet.
If she didn’t her father would truly be furious.
That would be a big deal.
In fact if she hadn’t run away in the first place it wouldn’t have been an issue.
‘But what can I do? I want to see it.’
It was something she wanted to see no matter what.
If not now she might never see it again. So she had to enjoy the moment.
‘Now where should I go?’
She had seen enough of Hyun.
Well not enough but she had to see other places so she needed to start moving.
Her head turned.
Through the gap in her clothing her light blue eyes gazed at a certain place.
‘Over there…’
It was the alley where the man who had pushed her earlier had disappeared.
‘What will I find if I go there?’
There were many things she wanted to see.
She wanted to see the famous Shaolin. If she had her way she would also like to visit the Murim Alliance.
Before leaving her hometown she had received a warning from her father.
[Do not go to the Murim Alliance.]
She clearly remembered hearing those words but she had erased them from her mind long ago.
If she had intended to heed that warning she wouldn’t have run away in the first place.
Her steps moved forward.
The woman was already entering the alley.
As she delved deeper the noisy sounds quickly diminished.
It was a quiet alley that didn’t match the bustling Henan.
The path looked somewhat old and seemed to be poorly maintained.
Through the gaps the woman slowly moved her steps.
Even this felt new.
Everything that wasn’t covered in snow was new to her.
A faint smell of smoke.
A dusty alley.
She engraved every visible thing into her memory.
After walking for a while.
“Hmm?”
The woman suddenly stopped and looked at something.
There seemed to be nothing in sight.
Just the cracked ground and the accumulated dust were visible.

It should have been that way yet for some reason she felt oddly drawn to that place.
What could it be?
Why was that?
The woman approached with a sense of curiosity.
Then she reached out her hand as if there was something there and waved it around.
But as expected she felt nothing.
“Was it an illusion?”
It seemed so.
The woman chuckled softly.
It was obvious that there was nothing there so why had she tried to touch it?
She knew but she seemed to be quite excited.
There couldn’t possibly be anything there.
Thinking that she tried to move her steps again.
Suddenly—!
The woman had to stop her actions upon seeing something.
There was someone right in front of her.
A young man was looking at her with a peculiar gaze.
He had pale skin and yellow eyes.
His long black hair was loosely let down.
He gave off a somewhat chilly and oppressive vibe.
When did he appear? Just as the woman was about to express her doubts.
“I found you.”
The young man said.
“It matches the description you provided.”
“…!”
As soon as she heard those words the woman turned around.
This was bad. It seemed she had been discovered.
She quickly tried to escape by pushing off the ground.
“Ah!”
There was already someone standing behind her.
It was a woman wearing a small-sized veil.
Though her face was not clearly visible her flowing green hair was striking.
She was blocked in both directions.
…What to do?
It didn’t seem easy to break through.
As the woman swallowed her dry saliva and continued to ponder.
“Ugh.”
A sigh was heard from somewhere.
From behind the woman in the veil.
“Damn it at this age I have to play tag. What a ridiculous situation…”
The voice clearly conveyed a sense of disbelief.
Hearing this the woman slightly turned her head.
And then she saw it.
A young man walking toward her from behind the woman in the veil.
He had dark hair and black eyes.
He wore a plain black martial arts uniform that didn’t stand out.
Unlike the two people she had met earlier he seemed to lack personality.
Yet for some reason he was a figure that drew her attention.
Was it because of his fierce-looking eyes? Or perhaps that annoyed expression?
Whatever it was the woman felt a strange sensation as she looked at the young man.
The young man Gu Yang-cheon didn’t seem to hide his emotions frowning as he spoke to the woman.
“You don’t look that young. Why are you alone bothering people and searching for your childhood?”
“…”
It was a tone she had never heard before.
In her life she had never encountered such an attitude.
“Miss I think I need to give you a good scolding. To miss something like that…”
He didn’t finish his sentence but the intent was clear.
The woman quietly observed him.
Then.
He raised his hand and moved the fur hat that was slightly covering his face.
Her view had been obstructed making it hard to see.
“Anyway let’s stop now…”
Gu Yang-cheon tried to continue speaking but he quickly had to shut his mouth.
As the woman brushed her fur clothing her face was revealed.
A slight opening.
The first thing visible was her clear light blue eyes.
The color of her eyes resembled someone’s.
It was possible.
According to what she had heard that eye color was said to be a symbol of the North Sea lineage.
This woman unlike her was of pure blood so it wasn’t too strange.
However… the problem wasn’t the eye color.
“…Oh. I wanted to enjoy this a bit longer.”
Gu Yang-cheon’s eyes widened at her voice.
Her playful tone.
The white hair visible beneath her fur clothing.
She looked just like the description he had heard.
But.
‘What is this?’
Why?

“Looks like I’ve been found out already.”
The woman smiled and her appearance resembled Mo Yong-hee so closely that it was almost indistinguishable.
