    563 (Part 1)

**Chapter 564: Why is this old man here?**

    It sweeps through.

    Kuaaaaaaa-!!

The gust of wind unleashed from his fist turned into a typhoon sweeping across the ground.

It was too rough and ferocious to be called wind made from qi.

Moreover it was shocking to think that a single human punch could achieve this.

    Dududududuck-!!

The ground twisted as it was swept away.

In terms of range the impact was enormous.

The storm swirled for a while and as it reached the mountains behind it gradually subsided.

    Hwaaaaa…

    Dust settled with the wind.

    Silence continued until that moment.

The brief silence ended when the view obscured by dust became clear.

    Thud-!

The body of Elder Woobak collapsed to the ground.

    “Elder Wooooo!”

    “Noooo!”

The cries of the Mu-dang’s disciples echoed upon seeing this.

The Elder of Mu-dang the Sword of the Non-Being Woobak lay on the ground breathless.

His body was a mess as if it had been trampled.

Looking at his bloodied body there was no hope left.

    Woobak was dead.

He had been brutally killed by the man in the mask without even a hint of resistance.

And it had only taken a single strike.

Without being able to put up a proper fight the Central Plains’ top master closed his eyes.

The figure who killed Woobak merely stood there quietly looking down at the fallen Woobak.

    A few seconds passed.

The one who had been examining Woobak spoke lightly.

    “How absurd.”

    A dry parched voice. Moreover

“Is this truly the sword of Mu-dang? If so it is truly disappointing.”

His voice was filled with undeniable disappointment.

“A prestigious sword that has been rooted in the Central Plains for so long… to be this crude.”

Seeing Woobak’s tragic death the Mu-dang disciples’ veins bulged.

    Yet none could move.

Their bodies felt as if they were still being crushed.

    Except for one.

There was someone who could move through this pressure.

    The figure turned to her.

    “Ah you were here.”

    A pause.

The woman the Plum Blossom Sword Master So-yi had to stop her movements at the figure’s words.

Her glowing blue eyes turned towards the Sword Master. Upon seeing this the Sword Master broke into a cold sweat.

    ‘I can’t see.’

    What was behind that mask.

What level the opponent was at. She could see nothing.

The Sword Master’s level was by no means low.

Even if she had to face Woobak who had just died she was confident she could win easily.

    But.

    ‘I can’t do that.’

There was no way she could make Woobak end up like that with just a single exchange.

    ‘What on earth…’

What was the identity of this suddenly appearing figure?

    ‘Heavenly Demon was it?’

He had indeed referred to himself that way.

It was an alias she had never heard before.

    Truly a bizarre situation.

To think there was no record of such a strong martial artist.

    “Sword Master.”

    “…!”

As the Sword Master heightened her tension Heavenly Demon’s call stirred her wariness.

Perhaps noticing this a hint of laughter crept into Heavenly Demon’s voice.

“You are different from the insects of Mu-dang. It seems you know your place.”

    Tap tap.

He lightly prodded Woobak’s corpse with his toes causing the Mu-dang disciples to gasp in horror.

“You bastard!! How dare you… Elder!!!”

    “I will kill you!”

Their cries were filled with rage.

Upon hearing this Heavenly Demon turned his head towards them.

He raised his index finger and brought it close to his lips.

    “Shh.”

    A light warning.

However the energy emanating from him was anything but light.

    Kuaaaaaaa-!!

A heavy aura enveloped the surroundings crushing everything.

    “Gahhh…!”

    “Grrr…!!”

The knees that had barely begun to straighten buckled again.

The Mu-dang disciples let out rough breaths.

“I do not like noise. Especially the cries of insects.”

A chill ran through the Sword Master as she clenched her fists.

It was a sensation she had never felt before.

It was too intense to be called a contest and too heavy to be called killing intent.

Aside from the trembling presence the situation fell silent once more.

Heavenly Demon turned his gaze to the Sword Master.

    Then he asked.

    “Will you come?”

The slight nod was a clear provocation.

    “…”

Hearing this the Sword Master frowned and replied.

“If you’re going to say that at least you should release those you’ve captured.”

    “Haha-!”

Heavenly Demon burst into laughter at the Sword Master’s words.

    It was as she said.

The energy emanating from his toes spread in all directions.

The aura cold in nature was directed at the necks of the martial artists.

The reason the Sword Master couldn’t intervene when Woobak was attacked was because of this.

Heavenly Demon was issuing a warning.

If you move others will die.

    That kind of warning.

The Sword Master felt cold sweat trickling down her back.

    This meant in other words.

‘With such energy emanating does that mean he toyed with Elder Woobak like that?’

To think he could play with Woobak like that while exuding such a terrifying aura.

Reflecting on this the Sword Master became convinced.

    ‘That figure has reached transcendence.’

He was at a level that only a very few among the top masters of the Central Plains could reach.

    The Sword Master judged this.

Otherwise he wouldn’t be able to manifest such a corporeal aura.

This was only possible by reaching the realm of the mind.

    Tension filled her entire body.

‘What on earth. Who is that… no.’

    Who are these people?

The Sword Master’s gaze shifted to the giant kneeling behind Heavenly Demon.

All attention was focused on Heavenly Demon but to the Sword Master that giant was also a formidable opponent.

At least a master of the outer arts.

Heavenly Demon was one thing but this was a figure she had never seen before.

    The situation was utterly desperate.

No matter what had happened the surrounding martial artists were unable to rise.

Despite the magnitude of the impact for some reason no reinforcements were coming.

‘Is it the black aura that’s the problem?’

The black aura spread all around. It didn’t seem to be a problem but it could be.

    If not that.

The Sword Master’s gaze shifted slightly upward.

There was something that shone brightly in the black world.

    Could that be the problem?

The Sword Master bit her lip.

It looked brilliantly radiant but she could feel the dreadful energy emanating from it.

It was a power she had never seen before.

Somehow familiar yet filled with a subtle strangeness.

    Crisis.

She tried to grip the hilt of her sword but no clear method came to mind.

Was she afraid of death? No.

Even if they were stronger than her she had no fear of that.

    The problem was.

    ‘There are children.’

There was something she had to protect right now.

Not far from where she stood.

    That was why.

She couldn’t recklessly swing her sword.

    Yet she couldn’t retreat either.

    At that moment.

    “Your gaze is trembling.”

    “…!”

Heavenly Demon spoke as he looked at the Sword Master.

“Your eyes are not filled with fear but something seems to be making you hesitate. What could it be?”

    Kuhk kuhk.

    A laugh echoed.

“Could it be because of the children trapped in the jade?”

The Sword Master’s eyes widened. Heavenly Demon had noticed.

The realization made heat rise in the Sword Master’s head.

    “Hmmm….”

Heavenly Demon adjusted the mask he was wearing as he observed the Sword Master.

What should she do? Should she fight now?

What about the martial artists around? What about the children underground?

    Crack.

At that moment the Sword Master bit down hard as the situation worsened.
