Childhood Friend of the Zenith – 536 (Part 2)

536 (Part 2)
“Ah….”
I couldn’t help but admire those words.
Since he was the best assassin it felt more credible.
When it comes to assassination there’s no one better than the King of Assassins.
What was slightly disappointing here was.
‘Is assassination the only thing I can ask for?’
It was a bit awkward to actually make that request.
Asking for the heads of Heavenly Demon or Blood Demon would have been problematic.
‘It’s fine since I wasn’t planning to ask for this anyway.’
If the King of Assassins wanted he could mobilize the Night Assassins.
The fact that he belonged to me meant that I would soon have the Night Assassins at my disposal.
‘If that happens I can quickly finish one of my plans.’
I had been thinking of forming an assassination group within a few years but with the King of Assassins added to the mix I could scrap that plan and replace it with something else.
‘That’s good.’
Looking at the situation it was quite favorable.
The need for an assassin wasn’t just for killing; it also involved gathering information.
Being able to operate the best assassin group in the Central Plains was a much bigger gain than I had anticipated.
However.
“That’s good but there’s something more urgent that you need to prioritize.”
What I wanted from him wasn’t that.
There were many people I wanted to kill.
But I preferred to do it with my own hands rather than relying on someone else.
The people I wanted to kill were all.
‘Rather than killing them I need to turn them into demonic practitioners.’
I planned to corrupt them all with demonic qi so I wouldn’t use the King of Assassins for that purpose.

So what was the request I would make to the King of Assassins now?
What was most urgent at this moment was none other than that.
I called the King of Assassins while picturing the woman with emerald green hair in my mind.
“Senior.”
The King of Assassins looked up and met my gaze.
I spoke to him.
“Please take on just one disciple.”
“?”
Upon hearing this a question arose in the King of Assassins’ eyes.
The Tang Clan was in turmoil.
It was a rumor that had begun to spread gradually about the Tang Clan and Sichuan.
An enormous incident had occurred within the Tang Clan.
Along with the claim that the Tang Clan in pursuit of futile power had conducted human experiments.
The rumor that this was carried out by the Elders of the Tang Clan was spreading in the Sichuan region.
Experiments using demonic beasts.
For this an enormous number of humans had died.
There were also rumors that they were all people secretly kidnapped by the Tang Clan.
Not only had they conducted human experiments but they had also attempted kidnappings for that purpose.
Unorthodox sects.
The fact that a prestigious orthodox sect would engage in such acts which were more typical of the blood-crazed unorthodox sects clustered in the outskirts was shocking.
Of course it was still just a rumor.
Even if the rumors spread a hundred times there wouldn’t be more than half who believed them.
But those belonging to the Tang Clan all knew.
That it wasn’t just a rumor.
As night fell and the moon began to shine with qi Tang So-yeol was meeting with her older brother the Hall Leader.
“What should we do…?”
“What do you mean?”
At Tang So-yeol’s words the Young Master of the Tang Clan the Hall Leader tilted his head in confusion.
A somewhat carefree reaction.
In response to that Tang So-yeol’s eyes reddened.
“You know… Orabeoni.”
“Hmm….”
Seeing Tang So-yeol’s pitiful reaction the Hall Leader sighed.
‘It’s been discovered.’
He had hoped that Tang So-yeol wouldn’t know about the incident that had erupted within the main family.
But it seemed someone had brought it up.
Or perhaps the rumors had grown so large that she might have heard them.

“Even if I say no you wouldn’t believe me.”
“I will believe you. However when I find out later that it’s not true I will blame you Orabeoni.”
“Hmm.”
Watching Tang So-yeol speak clearly despite her trembling voice the Hall Leader’s eyes sparkled.
If it had been in the past she would have likely whined in a somewhat childish tone.
But the current Tang So-yeol was not like that.
‘Has she matured?’
If so it was quite disappointing.
The Hall Leader had somewhat liked the image of his younger sister.
‘If she has matured the reason is….’
The Hall Leader smiled as he thought of the fierce-looking young man that had crossed his mind.
“Orabeoni?”
“Sorry I was just lost in thought for a moment.”
It was a nostalgic feeling.
When he first saw her she was just a member of a prestigious family.
As time went on she became the younger sister of the Sword Master. Nothing more nothing less.
That little boy had grown immensely in just a few years.
Not only was she influencing her own sister but she was also affecting the entire Tang Clan.
The Hall Leader predicted that perhaps in a little more time.
‘She will influence the entire Central Plains.’
This was not just a prediction but a certainty.
Otherwise his father wouldn’t have warned him like that.
– Be careful of Mister Gu.
This wasn’t merely to treat him as a dangerous person.
The warning also contained the meaning of treating him with caution.
Moreover it implied that he was someone not to be dealt with carelessly.
The Poison King had determined that Gu Yang-cheon was someone not to be treated lightly.
So he must have warned the Young Master as well.
Of course even if that hadn’t been the case the Hall Leader would have treated Gu Yang-cheon with caution.
‘Who knows.’
There was an immense presence emanating from Gu Yang-cheon now.
It was strange that he hadn’t realized it before.
Soon a storm would revolve around that young man.
There were a few people whom the Hall Leader knew who were capable of such things.
They had such extraordinary potential that they brought storms around them.
‘I too had wanted to be like that once.’
The Hall Leader knew best that he would never become like that.
Even so many who had initially stirred up storms ended up being swept away by them.
In fact most of them did.
Objectively speaking he knew that even if he brought such a storm he wouldn’t have the capacity to withstand it.
Then how about Gu Yang-cheon?
‘What about that guy….’
The Hall Leader thought of Gu Yang-cheon and surveyed the winds around him.
It was red.
The storm of Gu Yang-cheon was burning red.
He would not only remain in the eye of the storm but would also drench the entire wind in his color.
The red wind would gradually grow larger and soon settle over the entire Central Plains.
How long would it take until that happened?
Perhaps it wouldn’t take long.
The Hall Leader was confident of that.
‘Then that’s a relief.’
It was somewhat reassuring that Gu Yang-cheon had a good view of his sister.
At that moment while the Hall Leader was thinking this Tang So-yeol asked him with a trembling voice.
“…Ah is Dad… No is Father… okay?”
It was a question about the safety of the Poison King rather than the danger to the Tang Clan.
He would be the one suffering the most right now.
Upon hearing that question the Hall Leader smiled slightly and replied.
“Is there any reason for him not to be okay?”
“That’s such an irresponsible answer…”
“If I had to say he actually seemed more at ease.”
It was an incomprehensible statement.
The shadow he had during the time when the Tang Clan was at its peak had disappeared by the time it was falling apart.
The Hall Leader understood the Poison King’s feelings but still felt a sense of regret.
But he didn’t say anything.
“Orabeoni….”
“If that’s the choice of the Clan Head then I must follow it.”
“…”
“So-yeol didn’t you see the Clan Head’s expression?”
Even while smiling bitterly.
Or appearing dry.
The smile on the Poison King’s lips looked much lighter.
When had it been?
No he probably hadn’t even realized it.
‘He didn’t know that Father’s smile was heavy.’
He could only feel it now that things had changed.
– I’m sorry.
The sight of his father apologizing while talking about his choice was somewhat unfamiliar to the Hall Leader.
He couldn’t question how he had done that.
Nor could he express any denial about that choice.
– Even if many things change because of this choice.
– At least shouldn’t orthodox sects be like this?
It could be said that it was a romantic notion that turned its back on reality.
But the Hall Leader couldn’t refute that statement.
It was a fact he had momentarily forgotten.
Perhaps it was something he had taken for granted.
The Tang Clan was an orthodox sect.
That obvious statement felt particularly heavy.
“It’s okay.”
“…Orabeoni.”
“Even if this incident shakes the Tang Clan it will be my job to stabilize it again.”
He didn’t insist on calling it our job.
The Hall Leader would become the Clan Head.
And since he had made up his mind to respect the Poison King’s choice he was prepared to shoulder many things that would come afterward.
“Then So-yeol you don’t have to worry at all.”
“…”
“The Tang Clan will not collapse.”
If it were to collapse he could raise it again as many times as needed.
“So don’t worry.”
“…!”
At the Hall Leader’s words Tang So-yeol flinched in surprise.
She realized what he meant by those words.
“I know you’re worried.”
What Tang So-yeol was worried about was probably.
“Is it about Mister Gu?”
