    528 (Part 1)

”’Chapter 529 – Just Let Me Hold It Once.

    “Ah… my whole body aches….”

I returned to my quarters staggering after finishing my training with the master.

Damn old man how much did he make me roll around? My arms and legs are shaking.

[Well why didn’t you just hold back a bit?]

I had to let out a hollow laugh at Noya’s words.

Well it was this guy’s mouth that was the problem. If he hadn’t been so stubborn it would have ended quickly.

‘… That was my way of holding back.’

    [You call that holding back…?]

Noya spoke as if in disbelief.

Honestly considering the situation I thought I had held back quite a lot. Why was he surprised?

‘It’s frustrating not being able to land a single hit.’

If I couldn’t solve it with martial arts I had to at least poke at him with my words.

Thanks to that I ended up taking a few hits instead of just one but it was necessary to clear my mind so what could I do?

    Thud.

    “Ah damn….”

As I walked I heard a crack from my bones.

The spot where I got hit earlier still hurt.

It was only natural given the pain that resonated throughout my body.

That damn old man didn’t seem to have any intention of going easy on me.

‘Still how could I not even graze him?’

Whatever I tried to do it was blocked overturned and I ended up on the ground.

Whenever I tried to move my qi he would cut it off and whenever I tried to take action the master was already right there in front of me.

I felt like I was hitting a wall.

Beyond the realm the master made me feel the wall of a martial artist.

After all he was the one who had completely destroyed the concept of martial arts to achieve his own goals.

It was only natural that he would make me feel such a wall.

‘… How on earth am I supposed to solve this?’

Right now it had become quite a problem.

‘He told me to block it?’

The homework the master had given me was the issue.

Before practicing the Tua Pacheon Martial Arts I needed to achieve something.

He said that I needed to raise my perception.

If I could block even one of the master’s movements using that my training would be complete.

    It sounded easy in theory.

    ‘It’s damn hard.’

When I actually tried it I realized there was no answer.

In a situation where all means were blocked he told me not to evade or block but to actually intercept?

    ‘Ugh….’

Trying to do that against the master was definitely not easy.

‘He must have set the time frame like that because he knows how difficult it is.’

Around the time my training was supposed to end the master who had been sitting on top of me spoke.

    – It will take about a year to get a rough grasp of it.

He said this training would likely take about a year.

Not to mention it wasn’t even about finishing the training; it would take a year just to get a feel for it?

So I would have to endure being beaten like this every day for a year.

    ‘… This is really bad.’

I had to break out in a cold sweat just thinking about the hell that lay ahead.

    [Hehe.]

At that moment I heard Noya laughing.

‘Don’t just laugh. Can you help me out a bit…?’

    [Help? What do you mean?]

‘What does it mean to raise my perception?’

I was curious about what the master had asked of me.

    Noya must know.

After all when I started training Noya had expressed admiration so it meant he understood.

    [Hmm.]

In response to my question Noya seemed to ponder for a moment before speaking.

[I don’t think it’s my place to give advice.]

    He refused.

This was a rare situation. Noya had never failed to inform me of something even if it meant cursing at me.

So rather than feeling bad I was filled with questions.

    ‘Can I ask why?’

[Originally I would have explained a bit but from what I see that guy’s training method seems to suit you better.]

‘… Then wouldn’t it be okay to tell me more?’

Regardless of the training method I should be able to understand the meaning to some extent.

That was the intention behind my question.

Noya’s response to this was not much different from before.

[This training kid it only has meaning if you realize it on your own.]

‘That’s the part I hate the most.’

    Figure it out yourself.

    Recognize it yourself.

That was something I had heard so much about in this life.

However even so it was hard to catch him on that.

‘Seeing Noya say this too there must be a reason.’

If both the master and Noya were saying this it meant I truly had to figure it out myself.

For an entire year while getting beaten no less.

    ‘Should I just run away?’

That thought crossed my mind involuntarily.

I knew I wouldn’t run away and couldn’t run away but I just thought about it for a moment.

    “Hah.”

I sighed and entered my quarters.

Time had already turned to night.

Had my father come? Looking around it seemed he hadn’t arrived yet.

‘Speaking of which I haven’t seen what happened with the Tang Clan.’

While the Tang Clan was being turned upside down I was too busy getting turned upside down by the master to notice the situation.

    ‘… Tsk.’

I needed to know how things were going to plan my schedule more precisely.

‘I should ask Moyong Hia later.’

Moyong Hia who seemed to have realized something would be someone I needed to visit soon.

I had to go at least once for her cold treatment anyway.

‘… But would it be okay to do it now?’

What was bothering me was whether the current flames would negatively affect Moyong Hia’s body since I was in a molting state.

In the end I would have to try it out to find out.

    ‘Hmm….’

It wasn’t easy due to the slight chance of something going wrong.

It was funny; in the past I would have just done it without a second thought.

Now I hesitated because I had grown somewhat attached.

    ‘Yeah that’s why I’m hesitating.’

Knowing made it even more annoying.

My own filth and selfishness were just irritating.

‘I need to take care of the things I’ve started within a few days.’

This included matters with the Tang Clan as well as those with Dang Deok and Nah Yi.

It also involved my position with Sin Eui.

I had to sort out the miraculous encounter I had gained as well.

There was a lot to do. The only good thing was.

‘My body has recovered to some extent.’

Thanks to the training with the master my body which had been unable to adapt to the increased qi had improved significantly.

If I set a time at night to clean up properly I would likely reach the desired state.

    If that happens.

‘I’ll have to consume the Dokkyeondan.’

I would absorb the Dokkyeondan I had stored to gain energy.

I had decided to give the Baekmaseok to Sin Eui so I could let that go but I had to consume the Dokkyeondan.

    Moreover.

‘I need to give some to Dang So Yeol too.’

I had to prepare some for Dang So Yeol who had claimed he wouldn’t grow stronger using gems. He said he would handle it himself but I still wanted to give him something.

Even if I had the Dokkyeondan hidden away the Poison King wouldn’t say anything about it.

What could he say about me taking care of his daughter? Surely not.

‘It wouldn’t matter if I did it anyway.’

If I said I had already given it away that would solve the issue.

‘For now I’m tired so I should rest.’

After being beaten for hours I was truly at my limit.

I needed to lie down and sleep quickly.

Tomorrow the Poison King would surely convey a message to those who would be staying here after finishing his work.

I expected it would be a request to leave the Tang Clan soon.

Given the scale of the incident it would be strange to remain here so it was only natural.

This meant that there wasn’t much time left for me to stay in the Tang Clan.

    ‘… I don’t mind since I don’t have anything else to do.’

I was a bit bothered that I hadn’t been able to visit the main house of the Paewoo Clan but honestly it wasn’t that important so I could let it go.

As I was finishing up my thoughts I was gradually getting closer to my resting place.

    Whoooom.

    “…?”

Suddenly I felt a reaction from my body.

    Was it near my heart?

It was a sensation that felt like something was jolting in response to some energy.

It felt as if it was pointing somewhere.

    What was it?

    -… Shaaa….

The little creature in my arms also peeked out to check the situation.

What was this little guy up to?”’
