514 (Part 1)
”’Chapter 515 – Just Give It to Me Once.
A small park behind the Tang Clan.
A space that the former Clan Head the Poison King had lavishly decorated with a considerable sum of money.
It was so beautiful that it felt out of place as a park belonging to the Tang Clan.
There were no poisonous plants in the park and it was designed to flow with beautiful flowers and water in every season truly a place of rest.
In that place the Poison King walked with his brows tightly furrowed.
As he brushed past the flower-lined path countless martial artists followed behind him.
Contrary to the beautiful scenery their expressions were extremely dark.
The expression of the leading Poison King was no different.
– It’s done. Come.
A voice reached the Poison King’s ears while he was in his quarters.
At those simple words the Poison King immediately rose to his feet.
His back was drenched in sweat.
‘It’s only been a day.’
It had barely been a day since Gu Cheol-woon arrived.
After hearing the circumstances Gu Cheol-woon said he would listen to the rest of the story after finishing the work.
So it had been a day.
The Poison King was in a situation where he had no idea what to do.
Did that mean everything was finished in just a day?
‘It doesn’t make sense.’
How could it have happened?
Although it was a matter he had called for the Poison King could not understand how it was possible.
Thinking this the Poison King lifted his head to look at the sky.
The blue light spread across the night sky.
A bright shining sphere seemed to have been created.

It was truly overwhelming. Just looking at it made cold sweat flow.
‘It’s truly terrifying….’
A power so fearsome that it could stimulate fear in the Clan Head of one of the four great families.
And that wasn’t all.
The martial artists already within the Tang Clan were pressed down by fear as they witnessed that bizarre situation.
It was merely a situation created by one person. Yet it would not be an exaggeration to say that the entire Tang Clan was being crushed.
Seeing that the Poison King couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
“Haha….”
“Clan Head…?”
The martial artists behind him reacted with concern to the Poison King’s laughter prompting him to gesture with his hand.
“It’s nothing. Just had a funny thought….”
Yes it was a funny thought.
How could it not be amusing?
Before being the Clan Head the Poison King was a martial artist.
He should have known better yet he had momentarily forgotten.
This was none other than the Central Plains.
‘A world where strength is everything.’
A world filled with those who worship power and hone themselves.
When he thought about what made Gu Cheol-woon different from him it was not difficult at all.
It was an incredibly simple answer.
‘… He is stronger than me.’
You cannot solve everything with strength. That is the way of the world.
One.
Most things can be resolved and the reasons for situations that cannot be resolved are numerous.
‘When strength is lacking.’
When one does not have enough power to handle the situation.
Only then do people seek power beyond strength.
He was the same.
That was all there was to it.
Because he lacked strength he called upon someone stronger.
That person was able to easily finish the task because he was stronger than him.
The power to overturn a clan and still be able to handle it.
That was all he had.
‘I have no such power….’
Only that difference.
It was truly bitter and hot.
Like a wound seared by flames it sharpened.

He had never thought of himself as incompetent throughout his life. Yet now he could only feel dazed.
In this state the Poison King bit down to try to regain his focus.
He had to pull himself together.
If he collapsed here the Tang Clan would collapse.
That damned reality was forcing the Poison King to stand tall.
‘Damn it.’
He simply walked.
Now was the time to endure. As always the Clan Head was meant to be that way.
Although Gu Cheol-woon might send a telepathy saying to come it wouldn’t be hard to find the destination.
‘It’s hot.’
With each step an unusually hot energy was felt.
From the moment the Poison King left his quarters he could tell that this energy belonged to Gu Cheol-woon.
He was guiding him.
Kindly telling him to come this way.
Although it was a park within the Tang Clan the distance was quite far and not only did he send telepathy from there to here but he was also emitting energy to mark the path.
It was now utterly ridiculous.
‘The more time passes the more amazing you are.’
When everyone else was standing still.
Only Gu Cheol-woon was changing.
It had always been that way.
Even during the Poison King’s prodigy days when he was called the Poison Dragon.
Gu Cheol-woon was a being living in a different world.
He could not even look up. He could not dare to feel inferior.
It was not an easy distance to feel such petty jealousy.
Just as he was about to reveal himself the corrupted officials had forgotten the fact.
Bound by emotions he moved his increasingly heavy feet.
The flowers and trees were thick but before long they no longer caught his eye.
After walking for a while longer.
Hooook-!
“… Hah….”
The Poison King exhaled the breath he had been holding.
He could feel the heat that had begun to suffocate him dissipate.
The gradually fading senses were reactivated.
As his vision cleared the Poison King cautiously surveyed his surroundings.
“…!”
He widened his eyes as he looked around.
“Where is this…?”
It was different.
It was not the scenery of the park he had just been walking through.
The beauty of the flowers and trees had vanished replaced by dry ground and decaying grass.
The Poison King immediately understood.
This land was a terrain transformed by poison.
The dryness and decay were likely the reason.
‘Did the Tang Clan have a place like this?’
As a family that dealt with poison he thought they would have managed it thoroughly for the sake of their external appearance.
He never expected such a place to be hidden within his own clan.
With a frown the Poison King looked around.
“Are these formations….?”
He felt a subtle energy.
It was a trace of high-level formations set up to conceal this terrain.
Feeling that he clenched his fist tightly.
“… What on earth have you done?”
Poison King.
What on earth had his grandfather been doing?
This was part of that ugly secret.
As the Poison King surveyed the surroundings his gaze stopped at a certain point.
It was the path they had taken to come here.
“What is that…?”
He wondered how they had managed to penetrate such thick formations.
The reason was seeping from the entrance they had come through.
The entrance was wide open.
A gap created to sever ties with the outside world. Someone had forcibly torn it open damaging the formations.
Originally formations should not be carelessly tampered with.
If one tried to force their way through they would have to bear the backlash contained within the formations.
Knowing that martial artists would go to great lengths to dismantle the formations.
But someone had recklessly ripped it apart?
“Hah.”
There was no need to search for who had done this.
After all….
“It’s too late.”
The culprit was already waiting here.
The Poison King shifted his gaze to the voice that came from behind.
There stood someone the Poison King found difficult to deal with.
“… Gu Clan Head.”
Gu Cheol-woon with his hair dyed red.
Seeing Gu Cheol-woon standing at a distance looking at him the Poison King flinched.
He felt nothing.
Despite his formidable appearance he felt even shallower than when he had clutched his neck the previous night.”’
