”’Chapter 511 – Just Let Me Hold It Once.
The sun has risen.
In a way it’s a natural statement.
During the day it’s normal for the sun to be up but.
That’s not the issue right now.
‘It’s supposed to be nighttime right now….’
The sun should have already set and the moon should have taken its place.
That’s the way of the world.
What on earth is that?
It’s so absurd that I can hardly believe it. I raised my head and stared into the void.
A sun that has risen at night.
In the sky the sun was clearly visible.
Is that all?
‘It’s even affecting the sky.’
That sun was influencing the surrounding sky.
The darkness that should have been there was nowhere to be found and the area was a bright blue.
‘Is it a power similar to the Red Sky?’
The secret technique of the martial arts that colors the sky red with the heat emanating from the body enhancing its power.
‘To be precise it’s closer to a barrier.’
Like the Red Sky it colors the heavens but in reality it’s akin to establishing a territory.
It emits thick hot heat expanding its domain around it.
It’s so vast and high that it gives the illusion that the sky appears red.
Then what about that?
‘… I don’t know?’
I don’t understand.

Damn it I don’t understand anything.
‘Is that martial arts?’
The sun floating in the void.
It looks like the sun but it can’t actually be the sun.
It’s just floating there.
It’s just floating in the air radiating immense heat.
Just that alone creates the illusion that the sky has brightened.
What is that martial arts?
‘I don’t know that martial arts.’
Since my father used it it must be a martial arts technique from the family but it was the first time I had seen such martial arts.
Even in my past life I hadn’t seen that power when I fought my father.
Let alone….
‘… I’ve never even seen my father in a proper fight.’
My father with his hair dyed red.
It’s a sight I’ve never seen before.
Which means.
‘When he fought me in my past life he wasn’t using his full power.’
It was a painful truth.
Even though I had known that part.
[Heh heh.]
As I stared at the small sun the god Noya let out a hearty laugh.
[… It’s astonishing.]
‘What do you mean?’
[What do you see that as?]
What do I see it as?
‘The sun?’
It didn’t look like anything else.
[… Yes seeing it that way is normal.]
‘What else could it be?’
A small sphere ablaze.
What else could I call that which is so bright that it swallows the surrounding darkness if not the sun?
At least I couldn’t think of any other word.
That’s why I didn’t understand what kind of answer Noya was looking for.
[That is not the sun.]
‘I know that much.’
I may be calling it the sun but I don’t think it’s the real sun.
It’s just that I have no other name for it.

‘So Noya do you know what that is?’
A power of the family’s martial arts that I don’t know. Does Noya know my father’s abilities?
As I asked with mixed curiosity Noya cautiously began to speak.
[That is the manifestation of the heart’s thought.]
‘What?’
Heart’s thought.
It seemed like a random statement but it wasn’t too far-fetched for a martial artist.
Heart.
For a martial artist the heart’s image is like a mirror.
By honing the body and filling the vessel with qi one achieves growth.
The body which has been repeatedly struck and regenerated gradually strengthens.
The more it strengthens the denser the heart’s image becomes.
The growth of a martial artist is not just the growth of the body but also the growth of the heart’s image.
Thus the heart’s image of a martial artist who has continued to grow eventually takes form.
I looked at the sun created by my father and said.
‘Is that similar to the Heart Sword? Is that what you mean?’
The ultimate state of swordsmanship.
The supreme realm that one reaches after extreme training in swordsmanship.
Not the peak or the realm reached as a martial artist but the state of the heart’s image reached solely through swordsmanship.
That’s what it was called Sword Unification.
A state where the body and sword become one.
If I were to pick out the differences between ordinary swordsmanship and theirs.
‘Whether one can use the Heart Sword or not.’
Whether one can materialize the extremely trained heart’s image or not.
That’s the difference between swordsmanship that has achieved Sword Unification and that which has not.
Honestly I didn’t know much about it.
If I were to name anyone around me who had achieved Sword Unification it would only be the Demon Sword Master.
I don’t know about the Sword Demon but I thought he probably hadn’t reached it.
If he had truly reached Sword Unification he would have been much more ostentatious.
Anyway so.
‘Is that the power of the heart’s thought?’
That nonsensical power floating in the void is truly the manifestation of the heart’s thought?
No matter how I looked at it it was beyond my understanding.
The principle of martial arts which uses qi contained in the body.
That power seemed to stray far from that principle. The manifestation of the heart’s thought….
‘… Ha.’
I had to stifle a laugh at the thought that suddenly came to mind.
It seemed somewhat absurd when I thought about it.
‘Someone who hasn’t even reached the ultimate is talking about principles.’
Not only had I not achieved complete mastery of the family’s martial arts but I was also using Demonic Arts to elevate my level and now I was looking for the principles of martial arts—it suddenly felt ridiculous.
I knew.
This was just a sensation arising from feeling thirsty.
‘… The power of the heart’s thought.’
Facing such vast power creates a thirst.
Moreover knowing that it’s the same martial arts I had a shallow hope that if I tried hard enough I could also emit such power.
Having rolled around and aged do I now feel like I’m a martial artist?
I bit my lip to regain my focus.
‘This isn’t the time to chase such romantic notions.’
The paths are different.
If I take my time and put in the effort I might reach it someday but.
That’s something that can only be done when there’s time.
I turned my gaze back to the front away from the sun.
I knew it wasn’t the time to admire that.
‘Where have you gone?’
My father who threw out such a bizarre thing and then disappeared.
I had been searching around the Tang Clan for him for quite a while.
Even though I spread my senses wide I couldn’t feel anything.
The heightened senses from reaching the realm were enough to envelop the Tang Clan.
Although the influence wasn’t high due to the presence of other strong martial artists.
It was simple to find a person if I was just looking for one.
Yet the fact that I couldn’t feel any presence meant.
‘Could it be because of that?’
Only then did I realize that the sun floating in the void.
Not only was it raising the heat around it but was it also preventing the spread of my senses?
I didn’t know what principle it operated on but if that were true.
‘That’s an absurd power.’
No matter how I looked at it it was a superior version of the Red Sky. It wasn’t expanding a territory to raise heat.
It felt like it was dominating the territory itself.
‘What should I do?’
If my senses aren’t spreading how should I find him?
‘… Damn it.’
I turned my head but nothing came to mind.
Moreover I actually thought it might not be necessary to search.
My father wasn’t the type to rush out and he said he would be back soon(?).
If I didn’t want to get scolded I could just stay quietly in my room.
Yet for some reason I felt like I had to search for him.”’
