”’Chapter 499 – Just Give Me a Grip Once.
Kuuung-!
A massive explosion erupts in the air.
Shiiiiiik-!
A sound is heard. The head was already turned.
The body reacted before the sound reached it.
Shik-! Seok-!
It was clear that the turn was quick yet a sharp sword qi grazed past the hair.
A few strands of black hair flutter in the air.
Seeing that I raised my qi even higher.
Giiing-!
Qi surged from the heart.
It began to expand through the acupoints into every corner of the muscles.
As a result my awareness heightened.
With the widening field of vision movements became much clearer than before.
Something is coming.
It’s sword qi.
I released heat from my back.
My heart thumped once! and the heat burst forth from my back.
Paaang-!
A short yet fierce flame erupted from my back.
Using that explosion I increased my speed.
Gu Yang-cheon’s body shot rapidly into the air.
Narrowly avoiding the sword qi I arrived right in front of Gwae-seon in an instant.
“Heh…!”

Seeing that Gwae-seon let out a breath of astonishment. It was much faster than expected.
I swiftly corrected my sword.
Though I appeared flustered on the outside my insides remained steady.
The flexible sword path extended rapidly.
So fast that despite being a single sword it felt like multiple swords were being used.
In that gap Gu Yang-cheon reached out.
Amidst the swirling swords.
Twisting my body as if searching for the eye of the storm.
My eyes moved ceaselessly even in that brief moment.
I grasped the sword path and twisted my body.
‘This guy…?’
Gwae-seon was astonished at that sight.
Not only dodging the swords pouring down right in front of him but how could he move like that?
There was no hesitation in each movement.
Even a slight brush could result in a fatal wound yet Gu Yang-cheon approached as if unafraid.
If he were a martial artist who had reached the realm of transformation such mental fortitude would be expected.
‘I don’t get it.’
The kid in front of me was not of an age to have built such mental strength.
Should this be considered a realm of talent?
If so it’s a sin from the heavens.
Is it their intention to leave such a monster on this earth to plunge countless martial artists into despair?
Gwae-seon had to feel a rising joy and chilling fear simultaneously.
Twisting my body I changed the sword’s trajectory.
I acknowledged my mistake in trying to test the waters.
Gwae-seon infused his sword tip with energy.
Hwaaaak-!
The Daoist of the Mudaeng. The unique herbal scent contained in their energy wafted pleasantly.
However contrary to the pleasantness the sword qi seeping into the blade was vicious.
One sword.
As Gwae-seon extended his sword traces were left in the air. It was as if the void was being torn apart.
Gu Yang-cheon had already created a distance of a few steps.
Woong.
With a slight rise in the sword’s aura.
“Tsk…!”
Kwaaaang-!
Dozens of sword fluxes shot out in all directions.
Upon seeing this Gu Yang-cheon rotated the ring of the Nine Flame Wheel.

Hwaaarrr-! The flames that erupted at his waist rapidly expanded.
Gwae-seon’s eyes lit up with curiosity.
‘Blue Flame?’
It was a blue flame.
Unlike the deep red flames that the former Clan Head used to display.
For some reason Gu Yang-cheon’s flames were blue.
Moreover.
‘What is that?’
As soon as I saw that flame I felt an inexplicable chill on my forearm.
It was an instinctive pressure.
Kuuung-!
As Gu Yang-cheon stomped hard on the ground.
Hwaaaak-!
The ring on his body rapidly grew in size spewing flames.
Kyaaaah-!
The flames shot into the air changing shape with each branch.
They resembled beasts with their mouths wide open.
Dozens of fire beasts engulfed the sword flux.
Kwang-! Kwang-!
As the energies collided explosions erupted in the air like fireworks.
‘This is insane.’
Seeing that Gwae-seon couldn’t help but smile.
The density of his energy was much stronger yet.
The overwhelming qi contained in the flames suppressed and erased it.
How much qi must one have in their qi center to pull off such a feat?
‘It’s not just talent. Is that what it means?’
To unleash such bizarre talent the foundation is also not lacking.
Is this a display of such power?
While Gwae-seon was momentarily distracted by the dazzling spectacle.
Hooook-!
Suddenly an immense heat was felt right in front of him.
‘Oh no…!’
He hurriedly turned his gaze.
Gu Yang-cheon had already invaded Gwae-seon’s territory.
In his small palm he held a radiant orb.
Gwae-seon recognized it immediately.
He knew how much energy was compressed within that small orb.
It was dangerous.
Kuuuk-!
He pushed a considerable amount of qi into his sword.
At the same time Gu Yang-cheon as if not waiting for this declared.
“Flame Jade.”
He detonated the compressed energy right in front of Gwae-seon.
His vision was engulfed in bright light. Soon after.
Kuaaaah-!
A tremendous explosion engulfed Gwae-seon.
The energy burst forth over a wide area creating a massive pressure wave.
The sandstorm that swirled on the ground was enough to obscure vision for a moment.
Gu Yang-cheon frowned amidst that storm.
As if something displeased him he looked around.
Then as if he had discovered something he twisted his upper body and reached out.
His clenched fist was wrapped in flames.
Paaang-!
Something collided with the surface of his fist and exploded.
A sharp pain made Gu Yang-cheon grit his teeth.
What had just brushed past was undoubtedly sword qi.
‘As expected.’
As if it was as he predicted Gu Yang-cheon frowned.
Hwaaaak-!
The sandstorm that had been obscuring his vision suddenly soared into the sky.
The wind that surged from below was the cause of the upheaval.
The wind was so strong that all the dust surrounding him vanished upwards.
With his vision cleared Gu Yang-cheon stared straight ahead.
There stood the culprit of this pressure wave unharmed.
“… Well this is… I have no words.”
Gwae-seon laughed helplessly scratching his head.
Despite being hit head-on Gwae-seon’s body appeared unscathed.
No it was difficult to say he looked clean since he was already in tatters.
‘That’s not it.’
It didn’t work at all. That was the important part.
Gu Yang-cheon couldn’t help but feel regret over that fact.
‘I should have gotten a bit closer and detonated it.’
A moment’s choice.
If only he had taken one more step closer.
That was truly regrettable.
In response to Gu Yang-cheon’s regret Shin Noya spoke as if incredulous.
[If that had happened your chest would have been pierced.]
He knew.
That was the reason he hadn’t been greedy at that time.
[But are you really going to complain about that?]
‘I was just thinking it might have been better to offer my chest.”’
