”’Chapter 486 – What to Split.
[How have you been Myung-ah.]
At the call of Shin Noya the vibrations in Gwaeseon’s hand which he was holding intensified.
Was it because of the unexpected situation? Especially Gwaeseon’s expression was quite something to behold.
[Shin Cheol.]
A cold voice echoed in my ear.
Could this voice belong to Namgung Myung?
‘Wow.’
To express my feelings it felt like this voice could kill a person just by its tone.
With such a manner of speaking and voice was he similar in appearance to Gwaeseon?
‘The women must have fainted.’
Leaving behind that icy voice if he looked like that it would have been game over.
“Um.”
Perhaps due to the unexpected situation Gwaeseon tilted his head for a moment.
“It seems you can hear it too.”
He asked me a question.
Was he asking if I could hear Namgung Myung’s voice?
If so that meant.
‘Gwaeseon can hear it too.’
I glanced at Woo-hyuk beside me but he seemed to be frowning as if he couldn’t hear anything at all.
“Master what is it that you hear….”
“My disciple.”
“Yes.”
Seeing Woo-hyuk looking bewildered Gwaeseon spoke.
“Step aside for a moment. I have something to discuss with your friend.”

At Gwaeseon’s words Woo-hyuk’s eyes widened for a moment and he looked back and forth between me and Gwaeseon.
His expression showed he didn’t understand the situation.
However.
“Understood.”
Woo-hyuk didn’t say anything further and simply got up.
He could have asked why but perhaps he deemed his master’s words more important.
With a slightly disappointed look on his face Woo-hyuk leaped lightly and disappeared into the distance.
I was left alone with Gwaeseon needing to meet his gaze.
As a rather awkward sensation washed over me.
“This is quite a novel experience but…”
Gwaeseon was the first to speak.
“What is the situation?”
Vroom-!
The brainwave was still emitting vibrations.
I had to momentarily shift my thoughts back to Gwaeseon’s words.
‘What should I do?’
What should I say?
It was a somewhat ambiguous situation.
I had anticipated that Namgung Myung would be inside the brainwave.
When I visited the Namgung Clan regarding the previous engagement I had heard a voice that I presumed belonged to Namgung Myung.
I was told to look for the brainwave there.
‘That was also a message left for Shin Noya.’
Knowing that traces of them were already left in the spirit or the bi-go it wasn’t too difficult to expect that Namgung Myung’s thoughts would be in the brainwave as well.
‘That being said…’
Something felt different. The feelings I had encountered with the past thoughts and Namgung Myung felt different somehow.
Thinking about that I cautiously asked.
“… Is the person there perhaps Namgung Myung-senpai?”
“Huh?”
The first to react to my words was Gwaeseon. He seemed taken aback that Namgung Myung’s name would come out of my mouth.
“How do you know that….”
Just as Gwaeseon was about to speak with a slight frown.
[You took so long to appear.]
Namgung Myung’s voice came through.
[I thought there would be some issues given your usual shortcomings. What a sight this is.]
[Myung-ah this doesn’t seem to be something you should be saying.]
Unlike Shin Noya’s voice which was filled with laughter Namgung Myung remained as cold as ever.
Was he always like this?

[Why have you ended up like this Shin Cheol?]
[There were quite a few circumstances here.]
[What is that fellow?]
Does that fellow refer to me?
[This one is my successor or something like that.]
I clicked my tongue inwardly at Noya’s response. What does “something like that” mean?
Was it the same for Namgung Myung who questioned Noya?
[You took someone who isn’t even a disciple as a successor? Shin Cheol have you truly lost your mind?]
[He’s not a disciple; he just inherited my will.]
[What a ridiculous excuse. Have you truly gone senile?]
While Namgung Myung’s sharp words continued the one with the strangest expression was Gwaeseon.
“Old man who are you talking to?”
‘…!’
I hid my surprise at Gwaeseon’s words.
It seemed Gwaeseon couldn’t hear Shin Noya’s voice.
‘Then does Gwaeseon only hear Namgung Myung’s voice?’
I was certain that Gwaeseon could only hear one side of the conversation unlike the voices of Namgung Myung and Shin Noya which were both present.
With this somewhat useful information I concealed my reaction and spoke to Namgung Myung.
“When I visited the Namgung Clan I heard your voice there senpai.”
[What?]
Namgung Myung reacted to my words.
It felt like he understood what I meant.
“You said to look for the brainwave. You definitely said that right?”
[…]
To be precise it was something left for Shin Noya not me but since I came with Noya it shouldn’t matter.
There were too many things to worry about to focus on such details.
[Are you not just being lazy and not caring?]
‘Please be quiet….’
In the midst of this he was interrupting.
“So….”
[I don’t remember.]
“… Excuse me?”
Just as I was about to start explaining that I had come to find him.
Namgung Myung abruptly cut me off.
He doesn’t remember…?
“Senpai?”
[I have no such memory. I have nothing to say about this so you may leave.]
This was an unexpected turn of events.
I had naturally thought that bringing this up would lead Namgung Myung to explain the situation.
But to say he doesn’t remember and to leave?
‘What the….’
What a ridiculous situation.
How am I supposed to hand over the brainwave to Namgung Bia now?
As my head went slightly blank in this incomprehensible situation.
Gwaeseon spoke with a puzzled expression.
“Old man you should at least tell me what’s going on right? I don’t understand….”
[Send him back.]
“What do you mean?”
[I said to send him back.]
“What kind of nonsense is that all of a sudden?”
[If you don’t go then use force to send him back.]
“Ha have you lost your mind again? I always said you should explain things properly or not at all….”
Thud.
The brainwave which had been vibrating intensely stopped trembling with those words.
Seeing this Gwaeseon’s face twisted in an instant.
“Damn it. How can that old man not change his filthy personality? What is the ghost doing not taking this foul-tempered old man away?”
[The descendant of Myung is quite refreshing with his words. I like it very much.]
“…”
I sighed as I watched Noya laughing heartily at Gwaeseon’s words.
‘This is not the time to be laughing.’
[Then it is not the time to cry either.]
‘No we need to talk. This can’t go on like this can it?’
Isn’t it a situation where I need to ask why Namgung Myung was left in the brainwave and why such thoughts were left in the Namgung Clan?
Shouldn’t I be asking those questions?
Hearing my words Noya chuckled as if he found it amusing.
[No the one who came to take the brainwave and give it to his own disciple has suddenly started to think that conversation is important?]
“…”
Cough.
It was a valid point so I couldn’t refute it.
‘… You said you would help me.’
[Did I not help? I called and he said he wouldn’t talk so what can I do?]
What is this?
Why is this old man so carefree?
Something felt off. Shin Noya was not the type to act like this in such a situation.
‘Noya.’
[Yes?]
‘… You seem to have something in mind don’t you?’
[Hehe.]
I couldn’t understand Noya’s attitude unless he had some plan.
No matter how foul-tempered and unseemly he was I had to acknowledge his abilities.
The more I learned the more Noya’s achievements were endless.
Tales that would be overwhelming for a single person to accomplish in a lifetime.
For Noya it seemed like nothing at all.
[You certainly pick up on things quickly.]
‘…’
[Today we only need to confirm. As Myung said let’s go back. Staying longer will only irritate that fellow further.]
‘But….’
[This is something you need to understand.]
In Noya’s voice which had been filled with laughter there was a subtle seriousness.
[If I were in your position I might have done the same.]
‘… What do you mean?’
[It’s not certain but I’ll tell you later so as Myung said let’s go back for now.]
‘…’
[There are many things I need to tell you anyway.]
Just as Jeong Dae-mun had said last time.
Was it about the many things I had to tell Shin Noya?
‘This feels unsettling.’
I felt a strange sense of unease but it seemed there was no other way.
‘He said to go back. What on earth is this?’
I couldn’t understand Namgung Myung’s attitude or feelings but if he had no intention of talking what could I do?
“Hmm.”
Similarly Gwaeseon looked at me with a face full of questions.
But since he wasn’t asking anything it seemed he intended to follow Namgung Myung’s words.
This means.”’
