    483 (Part 1)

”’Chapter 484 – The Strange Immortal.

After seeking permission from the Tang Clan.

    I stepped outside with Woo-hyuk.

If it were up to me I would have liked to spend a little more time with the kids.

But knowing there was no time for that I focused on finishing the planned tasks as quickly as possible.

There was no time to rest.

It truly was a damnable life.

    “Ah it hurts….”

While we were running Woo-hyuk let out a groan beside me.

He was rubbing his neck with his hand.

    Seeing that made me frown.

“Who told you to mess around?”

“… I really didn’t know it would hurt this much. Do you think you’re special?”

“If you were treated like a dog you should act like one.”

He was the one who first treated me like a dog so I couldn’t understand what he was complaining about.

    I couldn’t figure it out.

[But you who really bites aren’t in your right mind either.]

Shin Noya spoke to me as if he found it pathetic but I ignored him.

I turned my head away from Woo-hyuk and looked straight ahead.

How long had we been passing through the densely wooded forest?

For a distance that was supposed to take about an hour it felt like we had been going for much longer.

While my legs kept moving without pause my mind was constantly racing.

‘I have various tasks lined up…. I wonder how they will turn out.’

Before leaving the Tang Clan I had called Nahyi to assign some tasks.

I was curious about how that would unfold.

    Additionally.

‘I need to see what the Poison King will respond with.’

I had to know what kind of answer the Poison King would give to what I had said.

Knowing that would help me set the right direction when it came time to act.

    [You little brat.]

    ‘Yes.’

[Did you really plan to kill them all?]

I rolled my eyes slightly at Shin Noya’s words.

After showing a moment of hesitation I answered briefly.

    ‘Yes.’

There was really no need to think about it.

It was right to eliminate all those involved in this matter.

I thought this was something I had to do considering it was a request from the Tang Clan.

‘Now that I know it could become a problem later I can’t just leave it be.’

    […]

At the very least it was related to Tang So-yeol.

I had always wondered how Tang So-yeol had achieved myriad poison immunity.

Answers to that question were gradually forming in my mind.

Thinking about it made me clench my teeth.

Myriad poison immunity. A question about that supreme yet cruel realm.

Could a martial artist truly reach such a tainted state separate from humanity?

It was something I hadn’t thought deeply about before.

But now I couldn’t help but think about it.

In the first place achieving perfect resistance to ten thousand poisons and mastering poison techniques was what it meant to reach myriad poison immunity.

Had Tang So-yeol truly reached it through the proper path?

    ‘At least.’

From my perspective it didn’t seem like a normal method.

I felt sorry for Tang So-yeol but objectively speaking she was not a genius.

Of course Jang-ryong who was running beside me and the likes of Wi Seol-ah and Namgung Bia around me.

Furthermore there were the top talents known as the best of Hwasan Yeongpung and Peng Clan’s Peng Woo-jin.

    And.

‘… A monster that will emerge in a few years.’

Compared to the next generation of the miracle known as Shaolin’s divine dragon.

Tang So-yeol had an infinitely lower presence.

To put it nicely she was a scion of a prestigious family. Just that level.

To put it harshly it might be hard to even call her a talent.

That was how I viewed Tang So-yeol.

No matter how I looked at it she lacked the talent to reach the end of poison techniques which was myriad poison immunity.

Yet she eventually rose to myriad poison immunity and became known as the Poison Queen. I had some questions about this.

There was suspicion that the previously stalled plan for the birth of Cheonmuji was still ongoing.

And the warning from Tang Je-mun that Tang So-yeol might be involved in this matter.

    Considering all this.

I thought that something must have happened in the process of Tang So-yeol reaching myriad poison immunity.

Honestly I didn’t care about this up to this point.

If I were a martial artist who pursued proper growth and adhered to agreements it would be different.

I chose to grow stronger by any means necessary disregarding agreements or chivalry.

So even if Tang So-yeol had risen through improper means I wouldn’t scold or look down on her.

What I considered important was solely one thing.

Did she truly want that process?

That was the only thing I cared about now.

Did she genuinely desire that method?

If it was something she wanted and it proceeded as such I could honestly turn a blind eye.

What mattered to me was not Tang Je-mun’s request or some insignificant Tang Clan.

It was solely Tang So-yeol’s will.

‘But. What if that wasn’t the case?’

Then conversely I would tear it apart and burn it down as much as I wanted.

If I wanted I would even be willing to burn down the entire Tang Clan.

    Would that really be difficult?

‘I used to think it was a bit too much.’

But now it didn’t seem that hard at all.

    Strangely enough.

Was it because my true power had grown stronger?

‘I’m still too weak to be arrogant though.’

Right now I had merely transitioned from an incomplete state to a complete one.

At this level it would be overwhelming to erase a clan.

Yet strangely I was overflowing with confidence.

This was definitely not a good sign.

    ‘Something has changed.’

Leaving aside the physical aspect or the fact that the center of my qi had shifted to my heart.

There was clearly a change in my emotional state.

Could this also be a phenomenon caused by the reconstruction of my vessel?

‘I need to take the time to figure this out for sure. Tsk.’

It was just frustrating that there was no time for that.

Holding back my irritation I looked at Woo-hyuk.

“How much further do we have to go? It’s already past an hour.”

At my question Woo-hyuk made an awkward expression and replied.

“Uh… um. I was told to just go this way?”

    “…?”

Woo-hyuk’s vague answer made me frown.

    “Hey.”

    “Yeah.”

“Are you seriously saying you don’t know the way?”

“Haha. What kind of nonsense is that?”

Woo-hyuk laughed as if he found my question ridiculous and gestured dismissively.

Right? He wouldn’t just be wandering around if he didn’t know the way.

Just as I was about to breathe a sigh of relief and pick up the pace.

“When have I ever been to Sichuan to know the way? Of course I don’t know.”

    “What the hell?”

Woo-hyuk’s confident statement almost made me stumble.

    He doesn’t know the way?

“This crazy bastard? Then why are you confidently leading the way!”

“No I just thought this way would work.”

“Where’s the map! Hand it over quickly.”

I snatched the map that Woo-hyuk was fumbling to take out and examined the route.

I scanned the map and then I slapped Woo-hyuk on the head.

    Smack-!

    “Ugh!”

Woo-hyuk looked at me resentfully after being suddenly hit on the head.

But I was just as furious.

“Hey you idiot! We came the wrong way!”

    “Oh… really? I didn’t know that.”

“‘Oh’ is bullshit…. I’m the fool for trusting you.”

As soon as I spat that out I turned around and started running back.

While doing so I grabbed Woo-hyuk by the collar.

    “Ugh…! Why is this happening…!”

“Shut up. We’ll go faster since we’re late.”

With that I put strength into my legs.

Hooosh-! I drew up my energy with all my might.

    “…!”

Woo-hyuk’s eyes widened at the sight.

Ignoring his reaction I focused solely on what lay ahead.

Ah at least I kindly gave him a warning.”’
