482 (Part 1)
”’Chapter 483 – The Strange Immortal.
As time passed by the time I stepped out of the Clan Head’s chamber it was already well past noon.
Considering that I had entered the Clan Head’s chamber just before noon we must have had quite a long conversation.
‘Hmm.’
I glanced at the sky and then looked back at the residence of the Poison King.
‘What a pity.’
The lingering feeling of regret after such a long conversation stemmed from the fact that I hadn’t gained much from my dialogue with the Poison King.
In terms of benefits I had only touched upon the incident regarding the Poison Lake and the origins of the Poison Pill as well as what to do about it.
I had also fabricated a rough explanation for why I was heading to Sichuan.
This was mixed in with my response about how I had come to acquire the Poison Pill.
In that part of my answer I thought to myself.
‘I had to sell out Lady Mi… but it should be fine right?’
Before leaving Henan I had recalled the Poison King’s words to use my strength if Lady Mi was needed.
I mentioned that I had accidentally acquired the Poison Pill from the Baekhwa Trading Company.
In the process I learned about the plan for the birth of the Heavenly Martial Body and that it was still being carried out.
These were the things I had shared with the Poison King.
‘He didn’t look convinced.’
Of course the Poison King didn’t believe everything but the Poison Pill was right in front of him.
Moreover.
‘The plan for the Heavenly Martial Body. That must have been the issue.’
Knowing about a plan that was secretly being conducted only within the Tang Clan which was unknown to the outside world would have been problematic.
If there was one more thing that bothered me.
– I understand everything but Mister.
– Yes.
– … Then what is your intention in getting involved in this matter? Is this the will of the Baekhwa Trading Company?

Setting aside the fact that I had obtained the Poison Pill why was I trying to directly cut out the rotten parts of the Tang Clan?
That would have been the Poison King’s biggest question.
It was also the part I found most awkward to answer.
If I had obtained the Poison Pill I could have just taken it and left without drawing attention.
There was no need for me to step forward and reveal that I had discovered the dirty parts of the Tang Clan.
Yet.
Yet the reason I was stepping forward.
It seemed that the Poison King was more curious about that than the Poison Pill in front of him.
In a way it was only natural.
‘Better than other humans.’
Finding a reason beyond the treasure right in front of me.
Considering the orthodox sects that had rotted away and failed to do even this simple thing the Poison King was just as I had first seen him.
‘The most Clan Head-like Clan Head.’
A person focused more on being a Clan Head than a martial artist.
One thing.
‘His vision is strangely narrow.’
Upon further reflection.
‘Is he deliberately closing his eyes?’
I had a strange feeling about that.
– I have only one reason.
The answer I presented to the Poison King’s question was singular.
I had prepared several answers and could have tailored my response to the situation but I didn’t want to utter a lie for this.
– It seemed that Miss was involved in this matter.
– …!
The moment my daughter was mentioned the Poison King’s expression changed drastically.
– Let me reiterate I am not seeking Clan Head’s permission. I am merely…
I have no interest in your permission.
As long as Dang So-yeol is involved I will carry out the task.
– I only hope that Clan Head is not involved in this matter.
-….
The Poison King’s gaze was intense. It seemed he was trying to determine whether this was true or not.
Perhaps due to the issue of the Poison Pill right in front of him his expression darkened even further.
‘If I were to mention that I know the method of making the Poison Pill that would be a big problem.’
Even so I intended to keep it.
The materials were not immediately usable and now was not the time to use them.
Whether he was searching for the truth in my words or was confused by unexpected developments.
The Poison King wore a face filled with various emotions and then said

– … I think I need a moment to think.
Saying that he asked me to leave.
‘To think.’
Though he said to think it was clear he would be trying to uncover the truth of the matter.
From this alone.
‘Does the Poison King have no involvement in this matter?’
Ultimately this meeting was to test whether the Poison King was involved or not.
I had not yet gained certainty about this.
‘For now I can assume he is not involved.’
It seemed I could view it that way for the time being.
At least that was a relief.
If the Poison King had been involved in this matter as well.
‘I would have had to kill him too.’
I would have to think separately about how to kill him but for some reason it didn’t seem that difficult.
So that was a relief. It meant I didn’t have to kill the Poison King.
‘Now what I need to investigate is…’
If an Elder of the Tang Clan was scheming behind the scenes.
I needed to find out who was doing what and where.
I nodded and organized my thoughts.
[Are you not thinking that it might not be so?]
A familiar voice echoed in my head. It was Shin Noya.
‘It seems you can show up now.’
[Yes it means your insides have calmed down.]
‘That’s a relief.’
Shin Noya had been doing everything in his power to prevent the vessel from breaking.
Because of that he had been unable to appear and had remained in my mind but it seemed he could show up again now.
Am I not thinking it might not be so?
The answer to Shin Noya’s question was simple.
‘That was the request Lady Dang made. Should I be suspicious of that?’
[…]
I teased him a bit by calling him “Lady
but Shin Noya showed no particular reaction.
Rather it felt like a gloomy atmosphere had settled.
‘Did something happen?’
Was there something that occurred while I was unconscious?
Questions arose but I didn’t ask. It was clear he didn’t want me to.
‘Moreover it’s fortunate if it’s not… but it doesn’t seem like it isn’t.’
The request Lady Dang had made to me.
It was to cut out the twisted and rotten parts of the Tang Clan.
Hearing that it was obvious what the rotten parts were.
And the fact that Dang So-yeol might be involved.
Looking at this.
I couldn’t help but recall the past life of Dokbi.
Had she truly experienced something in the future Tang Clan?
If that were the case.
‘I can’t let it go this time.’
I didn’t know what had happened but I had to nip it in the bud this time to prevent such things from occurring.
When I asked Lady Dang if it would be okay I was really asking if I would have to kill your kin and if that was truly alright.
Knowing this meaning Lady Dang nodded and gave her permission.
This wasn’t about whether I could or couldn’t do it.
Since Lady Dang had directly mentioned Dang So-yeol it meant I had to do it.
To do that it was essential to know the current situation properly.
Fortunately.
I had a very good card in my hand.
“So.”
I turned around and spoke.
Someone behind me flinched at my words.
It was Nahi.
Seeing her trembling perhaps frightened I said.
“I think there’s a lot I need to hear from you.”
Though Nahi still couldn’t meet my gaze after hearing my words.
The only response she could give was a nod.
Because I hadn’t allowed any other answers.
******************
Immediately after I headed to where the children were.
It was the place I wanted to go to the most at first but due to many matters I could only feel regret for not being able to go there first.
As I walked quickly down the path.
I heard sounds from a distance.
Swish-! Swish!
It was the sound of swords being swung.
I didn’t raise my senses separately.
Even without doing so I could hear and see enough.
‘Hmm.’
In fact I felt uncomfortable as I struggled to adapt to the suddenly heightened senses.
[Wow you’re casually making a gluttonous sound.]
‘… What can I do if it’s true?’
I knew it was something to be envious of for someone but I had no time to get caught up in that.
I just needed to adapt quickly.
That was all I had to keep in mind for now.”’
