460 (Part 1)
**Chapter 461 – Change.**
Kurrung-!
A massive lightning bolt strikes down from the blackened charred clouds.
Boom-! Boom boom-!
The lightning so intense it sends shivers just by looking at it pours down not just once but multiple times in succession.
Every time the lightning strikes the ground trees and rocks shatter leaving the surroundings in ruins.
The dry twisted trees of Sichuan ignite from the recoil of the lightning.
In such chaotic circumstances the old man continued to swing his sword.
Swish swish-!
The sword flew through the air repeatedly.
At a speed so fast that an ordinary person wouldn’t even be able to perceive the movements.
Countless slashes were unleashed in mere seconds while lightning also rained down endlessly.
Kurrung-! Kururung-!
The smell of burning flesh filled the air. The stench of charred meat was deep and foul.
Despite feeling that the old man did not stop.
The flashes of light continued to pour down without pause.
By the time the old man finally halted his sword only the charred remains of the battlefield were left.
“…”
The master of lightning the last Namgung Cheonjon swallowed a hint of fatigue as he sheathed his sword.
Having continuously unleashed lightning at a single spot he felt that the abundant qi had diminished to some extent.
Taking a breath Cheonjon gazed at a particular location.
Amidst the blackened world there was a spot that stood out remarkably.
The ground was melting and bubbling and the aftermath of the thunder still lingered there.
Through the smoke that filled the air Cheonjon frowned as he stared intently.
As he focused he sensed a writhing presence within the smoke.

“Tsk.”
Confirming this Cheonjon clicked his tongue briefly. At the same time he swung his sword sharply.
Whoosh-!
A gust of wind followed the swing of the sword.
It was to clear the smoke.
As the wind created by Cheonjon swept away the smoke the obscured ground was revealed.
Something was slumped over the melting bubbling ground.
A body blackened like the ground was visible with flames flickering around it.
‘Still.’
That blue flame has not extinguished yet.
Seeing ‘that’ which lay there seemingly unconscious and gasping for breath Cheonjon furrowed his brow.
He also had to express his disgust.
What on earth is that?
‘Strange.’
No matter how he looked at it he couldn’t understand.
Arms and legs severed scorched by lightning and having endured all sorts of torment.
Yet the creature’s body remained intact.
It was regenerating without a care.
Despite being cut countless times its body returned to its original state.
How could that be?
‘What is its true identity?’
It was ambiguous to call it a demonic beast and impossible to refer to it as human.
He tried hard to ascertain its identity but even that failed.
It was bizarre and strange.
Such was Cheonjon’s gaze as he looked at it.
To be so intact after taking such lightning strikes. It was an incredibly resilient creature.
However.
Sreung.
Cheonjon vibrated the tip of his sword as he thought.
No matter how many times he cut it it endlessly regenerated seeming hopeless. Yet Cheonjon realized that it had a weakness.
While it could withstand all other attacks there was a particular area it was trying to protect fiercely.
‘The neck.’
Indeed it was the neck.
The creature had been trying to shield its neck during the battle.
Seeing that the weakness must be the neck.
Additionally.
The left side of its chest had a gaping hole completely empty.

That was likely the mark left by Cheonjon when he had stabbed its heart.
He didn’t know why it remained in such a state.
Grrr…
A low growl of a beast.
At the sound that pierced his ears Cheonjon shifted his movements.
It was coming.
Kyaaaah-!
The creature which had been gasping roared fiercely and charged at Cheonjon again.
It was still fast.
The azure flames erupting from its back split and divided pressing in on Cheonjon from all sides.
Seeing that Cheonjon frowned.
Just looking at it made one of his shoulders throb.
‘That flame is the problem.’
The wound he had received just moments ago still throbbed.
It wasn’t just a throb.
Right after his shoulder was hit it felt as if his arm had gone numb and wouldn’t move.
Even trying to use qi to move or to shake it off it felt as stiff as stone.
It wouldn’t loosen.
What on earth was happening?
Whoosh-!
The flames brushed past Cheonjon.
It barely grazed him but he felt his body grow heavy immediately.
Feeling that he clicked his tongue.
‘What a nuisance.’
The very fact that he was grazed by such an attack was unacceptable.
There must be something wrong with those flames.
Twinge.
He grimaced as he felt the pain in his shoulder.
It seemed that this was the biggest problem.
Drip….
Blood flowed from his shoulder dripping down to his fingertips.
He tried to use qi to staunch the bleeding but it didn’t work.
“This bastard.”
Kiiing.
He raised a magnificent sword flux and heightened his fighting spirit.
It was truly pathetic to be struggling against such a creature.
What would Wihyo-gun have said if he saw this? He would surely have laughed at him.
What would the Demon Lord have said if he saw this?
Would he have looked at him with disdain?
Thud thud.
Kiiing-!
The sound of the sword resonated continuously from Cheonjon’s blade.
“Grroooar…!”
With the growl the assault continued.
It didn’t seem to tire nor did it stop moving.
Clang-!
The sound was too rough to say it was just the clash of fingertips and sword.
Cheonjon pushed back the attack. The creature took a slight step back. Seizing the moment he swung his sword.
Swish-!
“Kyaaaah!”
As its wrist was severed the creature let out a scream.
He adjusted his grip on the hilt. Just as he was about to slice into its chest.
Whoosh-!
“…!”
He saw flames gathering from the creature’s open mouth.
Seeing that Cheonjon hurriedly moved. As he twisted his body to create distance.
Kwahhh-!
The flames spewed from the creature’s mouth engulfed the very spot where Cheonjon had been.
An immense heat.
‘This is something.’
Seeing the heat filling the air Cheonjon curled his lips into a smirk.
He was certain.
That was a demonic beast. It couldn’t be anything but a demonic beast.
‘A demonic beast disguised as a human?’
Even when Cheonjon first confronted a red demonic beast it hadn’t been this difficult.
Just pouring out qi had been sufficient but this creature was beyond that.
With its endlessly regenerating body and tremendous firepower it was hard to consider it human.
It would be more appropriate to view it as a new type or grade of demonic beast.
A demonic beast of white grade which was said to exist only in legends.
If such a creature were to appear it would feel like this. Cheonjon thought to himself.
Otherwise he shouldn’t be struggling like this.
It had to be that way.
“Kyaaaah!”
A roar echoed.
Cheonjon slashed his sword diagonally.
Kurrung-!
