**Chapter 459 – Change.**

What is that?

It was the thought that immediately came to Heavenly Demon’s mind upon seeing it.

What on earth is it?

Whoosh–!

His entire body was engulfed in flames burning fiercely.

The sight of it blazing madly with blue flames evoked a strange sensation.

What in the world is that?

Thud-!

“!”

The arm of the figure moved.

Seeing that Heavenly Demon gripped his sword tightly.

‘This…’

An extreme sense of vigilance boiled over and the moment he realized it Heavenly Demon’s face contorted in distress.

The reason was simple.

He was on guard.

Against that unknown something. Against himself.

Crack-!

The energy surged from the sword he gripped and his body.

His eyes moved. The focus was on the spot where that thing had just been lying.

‘It’s gone.’

He had clearly stabbed the heart with his sword. He remembered the vivid sensation.

A fatal blow that should have been an instant kill. A wound that a human could never survive.

‘… What happened?’

The blood he had spilled. The traces left behind as he collapsed.

How could it be so clean?

Heavenly Demon turned his head towards the rising flames.

The more he looked the more questions arose. How on earth is that thing still alive?

No to begin with.

‘Is that really the young man I killed?’

He should have doubted whether that ‘thing’ was indeed the young man he had killed.

The presence was different.

It meant that the feeling he sensed was entirely different.

Heavenly Demon’s heightened perception transcending levels allowed him to discern many things.

From the qi he possessed to the unique movements and heartbeat.

He had grasped everything and could distinguish the differences.

That thing.

‘… What is it?’

Even Heavenly Demon could not comprehend.

He could not hear the sound of a heartbeat nor could he sense any fragrance.

The absence of sound indicated that it had reached death.

How could a human stand there so brazenly and move?

‘To begin with…’

Is it really human?

If it’s not human what should he call that?

Unconsciously a word brushed through Heavenly Demon’s mind.

‘Demonic beast?’

Yes demonic beast.

To Heavenly Demon that thing was closer to a demonic beast than a human. A bead of cold sweat trickled down his wrinkled cheek.

Feeling that he swung his sword.

Slash-!

The sharp sword qi sliced through the figure’s arm.

Then with a thud-! the arm fell to the ground.

The figure merely glanced at the fallen arm showing no further reaction.

As the figure quietly stared at its own arm it slowly turned its head to look at Heavenly Demon again.

What is this? Is that all there is?

If it won’t resist that’s even better.

Thinking that Heavenly Demon aimed to shoot sword qi at its neck this time.

“…?”

Feeling something strange Heavenly Demon looked at the hand holding the sword.

“… What?”

Only then did he realize.

Not only the sword but his own body was trembling slightly.

His arm was shaking.

Not just his arm but his entire body was trembling.

Why? Why is his body suddenly shaking?

Heavenly Demon tried to calm himself by circulating his qi but it was not easy.

What is happening?

As questions arose Heavenly Demon bit his lip.

He had realized the reason for his body’s reaction.

His flesh was feeling fear.

The moment he recalled that Heavenly Demon’s face twisted like a demon. He was feeling fear?

Heavenly Demon the Sword Master let alone the Martial Master or some unknown being feeling fear?

It was impossible.

It was even humiliating to feel that way.

The energy bursting from Heavenly Demon’s body soared into the sky creating dark clouds.

He could not hold back. With the ‘permission’ granted there was no reason to hesitate so Heavenly Demon swung his sword again channeling his energy.

The trembling persisted but overcoming it was not a problem.

The enhanced qi containing the realization of a martial artist who had transcended levels.

The overwhelming power contained in the sword qi sliced through the air flying towards the figure. The target was its neck.

No matter how unknown that thing was if its neck was severed it would surely die.

Thinking that Heavenly Demon launched his attack. An enormous sword qi shattered the ground as it shot straight ahead.

Boom-!

A tremendous sound erupted shaking the forest.

At that moment Heavenly Demon expected that the figure would be swept away by the distant resonance.

Swoosh.

A subtle change occurred in the figure.

A crack slowly appeared at the corner of its mouth.

Kyaaaah-!

It let out an enormous roar.

Kwahhh-!!

That was not all.

As it roared a shockwave burst forth causing everything around to collapse. Heavenly Demon’s sword qi scattered with the sound and the dark clouds he had created were blown away.

“…!”

As Heavenly Demon tried to react to the sudden response.

Whoosh-!

The figure wrapped in blue flames charged at Heavenly Demon.

The speed was incredible.

Having leaped with sheer force the ground where the figure had pushed off shattered into pieces.

Heavenly Demon gripped his sword diagonally.

The speed was fast but it was not beyond his ability to react.

Just as he was about to swing his sword down.

Heavenly Demon’s eyes widened in shock as he confirmed the charging figure.

The arm he had just severed had somehow regrown perfectly.

Could that be the reason?

Heavenly Demon could not properly counter the attack.

The figure’s strike slammed into Heavenly Demon’s shoulder.

Immediately after.

Boom-!

A tremendous sound erupted and blue flames spread in all directions.

Crackling-!

He could hear something breaking near his ear.

What is breaking? He tried to check but he couldn’t.

Because he could see nothing in front of him.

Is it because his eyes are closed? That didn’t seem to be the case.

It felt as if the entire space he occupied was painted black.

With darkness all around even if he tried to see he could not.

In that unknown space.

Crackling-!

He had to keep listening to the sound of something breaking.

‘What is this?’

Crack-! Snap!

It sounded like something was breaking. Or perhaps it was the sound of something being forcibly torn away.

He didn’t know what it was but it was not a sound he wanted to keep hearing.

Thud-!

He tried to cover his ears with his hands.

Fortunately his hands moved. He tried to block it out but the sound did not stop.

Crack.

‘Ah.’

Instead it became even clearer.

Hearing that he realized.

This sound was not coming from outside.

This was not the outside. It was a sound coming from within him.

So the more he covered his ears and closed his eyes the clearer it became.

Crack-! Snap-!

The incessant sound was driving him to irritation.

What on earth is this noise? There was no noise like this.

He didn’t mean to but his expression kept frowning.
