    441 (Part 2)

”’If she had wanted she could have lived as long as she wished.

    But she didn’t.

‘In the end she died for me.’

She came back for me. She died for me.

    Isn’t that just a fucked-up situation?

Did she know? That I wished for my own death in every one of those moments?

At first I wished for my father to die.

Then I wished for Phaejon to die.

In the ambush I wished only for my own death.

I recalled while looking at the back of the Demon Sword Master.

‘…Will you make that choice again this time?’

    I knew.

Since the world hadn’t changed the Demon Sword Master was likely to make the same choice and that choice might change if I intervened.

But even knowing that I was in a situation where I could do nothing.

    “…”

If there were any disturbance in the current situation….

    ‘…The Divine Sword will… die.’

I thought squeezing my eyes shut.

    The Divine Sword dies.

Yes this situation was such a situation.

It was a situation where I had no choice but to move desperately.

    Crack.

    My teeth ground together.

I clenched my fists while looking at the back of the Demon Sword Master.

The reason I expressed that this life was like hell was because of this.

No matter what choice I made someone would die.

No matter how much it was a fantasy choosing anything was not easy.

Even if the death of the Demon Sword Master would be a significant basis for my regret.

If I chose to save her the Divine Sword might die.

Then would there be no regret gained from that?

‘On the contrary… if I just let the Demon Sword Master die?’

If I chose a direction similar to my original life would that be okay?

    ‘Ha….’

As I reached this point suddenly the words of the Lord of the Temple came to mind.

He said it didn’t matter which choice I made. That nothing would change.

    “…”

Looking back now it was truly a profound statement. Was it something he said because he anticipated that such a situation would arise?

If so there was truly no sense of taste in that.

‘It doesn’t matter what you choose?’

    What a load of crap.

    ‘How can it not matter?’

    It couldn’t be.

No matter how much this situation was a fantasy to create it so vividly and just say to look at it comfortably.

    I.

    Could never do that.

    “…”

So my thoughts only grew more numerous and I became weary.

It was a situation where I couldn’t easily choose anything.

    Of course.

Even if that wasn’t the case fortunately there was at least one other method.

It might be the easiest or perhaps the most difficult method.

If I wanted to do something… I was planning to take that choice.

    Screech—

Right after arriving at the headquarters I moved forward covered in blood.

Now the strong smell of blood around me didn’t bother me at all.

Having lived this kind of life originally adapting again was a simple matter.

Thinking that way I passed through the corridor and arrived at the main hall but for some reason the stench seemed thicker than usual.

    ‘Hmm?’

I wasn’t the only one to feel that difference; a subtle aura of hostility emanated from the Demon Sword Master walking ahead.

It felt like something was bothering him.

    Thud.

As the massive door opened and I entered the main hall.

Inside there were already other figures present.

I looked around to see who they were and compared to the Black Flame Corps the blood scent was particularly thick and the killing intent was so strong it was spilling out of their bodies.

Each of them had a sword at their waist and seeing that I could figure out who they were.

    “Chuckle.”

I heard laughter and looked up.

Someone was sitting in the seat where the captain of the Black Flame Corps should have been.

A man with hair hanging down to the ground and a smirk on his face.

Along with the chilling madness and killing intent I felt goosebumps rose on my spine.

    ‘…That guy.’

I frowned as I recognized him.

The ones filling the main hall were none other than the demonic practitioners of the Inspection Sword Corps.

This meant that the man sitting in the seat was the master of those demonic practitioners.

    ‘Sword Demon.’

That meant the Sword Demon known as Cheonsalseong.

The Sword Demon sitting in the seat smiled at the Demon Sword Master.

“It’s been a while Demon Sword Master.”

    “…”

    Swoosh.

The Demon Sword Master immediately drew her sword in response to his words.

Then quietly whispering to the Sword Demon she said.

    “…Get down….”

    “Hmm? What did you say?”

“Get down from there… that’s… not a place for you to sit.”

The Demon Sword Master’s words and the aura of hostility emanating from her body.

I felt my qi center instinctively shrink at the difference in their levels.

Even feeling the Demon Sword Master’s hostility the Sword Demon merely chuckled.

“Well since the captain isn’t here anyway you’re being too harsh just for sitting a bit.”

    “…”

At the Sword Demon’s words just as the Demon Sword Master was about to raise her aura.

    Creak.

The Sword Demon shrugged his shoulders and began to rise from his seat.

    ‘That crazy bastard.’

The Sword Demon I hadn’t seen in a long time was just as much of a lunatic as the rumors suggested.

If Mukgwon was the least demonic practitioner among the demonic practitioners I knew.

The Sword Demon was conversely the most demonic practitioner-like demonic practitioner.

    Step by step.

The Sword Demon descended the stairs and approached the Demon Sword Master.

“I heard the captain went somewhere. Do you know where the Demon Sword Master is?”

    “…”

There was no answer to the question. The Demon Sword Master merely watched the Sword Demon silently.

Was that the problem? The Sword Demon clicked his tongue and continued speaking.

“Hmm I still don’t like that angry look in your eyes. If it weren’t for that you’d be quite beautiful.”

At the Sword Demon’s words energy surged from the Black Flame Corps behind him.

Accordingly the killing intent from the Inspection Sword Corps began to thicken a bit more.

In the midst of that I was the only one left with a dumbfounded expression.

    ‘These crazy bastards?’

Suddenly gathering together they seemed ready to fight among themselves.

Since I usually wandered outside the headquarters I had no idea this was happening.

As I watched the situation which looked much worse than I had expected wondering what to do.

    “Hmm?”

    “…!”

Suddenly my eyes met with the Sword Demon who was engaged in a psychological battle with the Demon Sword Master.

His eyes filled with killing intent turned towards me.

What began to mix in those eyes was undoubtedly curiosity.

“I see a face I haven’t seen before? Who is this guy?”

With a chilling smile the Sword Demon took a step closer to me.

What should I do? In the sudden situation I unconsciously frowned for a moment.

The Sword Demon’s expression also changed.

“Are you making that face? You don’t seem to know who I am. That’s why you’re making such a face in front of me.”

    I messed up.

This bastard with such a fucked-up temperament had taken an interest in me.

I should have just kept my head down and looked at the ground; now I was in trouble.

    Swish.

The Sword Demon reached out and grabbed my chin beginning to examine me.

“Anyway if you don’t train properly you end up with someone like this don’t you? A newcomer? Strange. You look different. Oddly similar to that person.”

It was obvious who that person was without needing to see.

The Sword Demon continued speaking his brow furrowing more and more.

“…Is that why I don’t like your eyes? If you keep looking at yourself like that….”

    At that moment.

“To educate you I’ll personally pluck out your eyes…!”

    Boom—!

In an instant an enormous aura exploded and the Sword Demon’s body was slammed against the wall in an instant.

    Thud—! Crash—!!

Dust erupted and debris from the impact fell towards the direction where the Sword Demon was embedded.

It was a situation that unfolded in a split second.

Surprised by the unexpected event I looked at the person who had caused it.

    Crackle. Crackle.

The Demon Sword Master who had struck the Sword Demon showed no intention of hiding the aura bursting from her body expressing it fully.

Her aura mixed with her qi exuding a towering presence.

The presence the Demon Sword Master displayed was so strong that I felt the surrounding space slightly warp.

The demonic practitioners of the Inspection Sword Corps were unable to even draw their swords due to the sudden situation.

In that gap the Demon Sword Master gradually increased her energy and opened her mouth.

    “…Don’t… touch me… with those… disgusting… hands….”

The voice of the Demon Sword Master directed at the Sword Demon was laced with a rare clear anger.”’
