    418 (Part 1)

    ”’〈 Chapter 419 〉 Two Amulets.

Kuuung-! With a heavy rumble a massive body flies through the air.

    “Ugh!”

Dangdeok lets out a groan as he struggles to regain his balance and lands on the ground.

Afterward he surveys the front with a bewildered gaze.

Seeing this Dangdeok’s eyes widen in surprise. He also looks around. Something was definitely off.

The small and large stars that had been floating in the sky had vanished.

As the brightly shining stars disappeared a desolate darkness enveloped the forest.

    It was silent.

The insects and grass that had been making sounds unknowingly all held their breath.

Dangdeok felt a prickling sensation in his senses due to the sudden silence.

He instinctively realized how dangerous this silence was.

    ‘What is this?’

He could immediately tell that this was an artificially created situation.

However he needed to confirm what had happened.

    First of all.

    ‘I’ll break through with strength.’

Just as Dangdeok was about to swing his spear with all his might.

    “…!”

He could immediately sense something strange.

    ‘It’s heavy.’

Moving his body felt heavy. Moreover he sensed that exerting strength had become somewhat awkward.

Was this due to the unknown energy that was now surrounding him?

    Crack!

Dangdeok bit down and swung his spear with all his might.

No matter how restricted his body was that strength was not weak.

    Whoooosh-!

The tip of the spear filled with qi swung fiercely.

The enhanced qi contained within burst forth in sharp forms in all directions.

Crack-! He could see the trees that formed the terrain being chopped down in chunks.

In the midst of this Dangdeok’s eyes were moving rapidly.

    He needed to find something.

The one responsible for creating this situation.

‘Where is it? Where could it possibly be?’

He tried to make an effort to search but in reality there was no need to go out of his way.

The opponent had no intention of hiding in the first place.

    It was visible.

    Fwoosh….

Beyond the darkness a black flame was burning alone.

A foreboding and massive presence that indicated its existence here.

    ‘Hah.’

Dangdeok had to smile wryly upon confirming the flame. It was absurd.

‘They said it was an unprecedented talent and it seems that was true.’

How could that be the presence of a mere youth who had not yet reached adulthood? With arms crossed and surrounded by black flames Gu Yangcheon watching Dangdeok was anything but small.

The black flame while it emitted a dazzling light like other flames was different; despite its brilliance the ominousness contained within was far from sacred.

Why was it emitting such flames?

It was just a flame yet Dangdeok questioned whether he was instinctively feeling fear.

Moreover there was a difference from when he first saw it; the black pupils were shining with a purplish hue.

The whites of the eyes which should have been white were stained black.

    ‘…What the hell is this?’

That alien appearance and the presence that made him tremble just by looking at it.

What on earth was that being?

    ‘Heavenly Demon.’

The words that So Yeomra had let slip about his identity.

Heavenly Demon (天魔). Does it mean a demon sent from the heavens?

It didn’t seem like an alias; how could So Yeomra have spoken of himself like that?

In the midst of this Dangdeok thought that the name suited So Yeomra all too well.

Just looking at that figure it was no different from a demon.

    Dangdeok recalled.

For some reason a phrase kept popping into his head.

The being that Dangbi-seong had longed for so desperately.

    Cheonmu Jiche.

The overwhelming talent of being the youngest in the realm. The aura that did not fear the enemy and the presence that pressed down on the opponent.

What else could that strange talent that Dangbi-seong so desired be if not this?

    Crack.

Dangdeok had to grind his teeth at such thoughts.

Unknowingly he thought ‘If I were like that guy would I have been abandoned?’

The purpose was to annihilate the SichuanTang Clan which deserved to be torn apart.

Until the Dang family no longer existed in this world. Dangdeok had such a purpose.

Was there still regret and lingering feelings left?

    ‘Get a grip.’

Dangdeok focused his gaze and aimed the spear tip at the flame.

    ‘I will kill them all.’

Whether that guy was a demon or Cheonmu Jiche it didn’t matter.

How he knew about that was also unimportant.

What mattered was that he was merely an obstacle to his revenge.

If there was something blocking him he would break through it.

That was the power he had cultivated for this purpose.

    Boom-!

The spearhead sliced through the air.

The blade was wrapped in enhanced qi and gradually took on a green hue.

This light had nothing to do with poison.

It was merely a remnant of the Tang Clan that still lingered in Dangdeok’s body.

The spear imbued with such energy created a graceful curve as it was launched.

    Qiryong Mujungchang (氣龍武正槍).

The most basic spear arts used by the Murim Alliance.

It was the easiest martial art to find among spear arts and simple to learn.

This was the only martial art that Dangdeok had learned. He had to master it for the sake of killing intent and he had no choice but to learn it.

Having only this he had to hone it like crazy.

Eventually he reached the realm of Hwa-gyeong with this spear art.

It was a testament to how exceptional Dangdeok’s physique was that he reached Hwa-gyeong with such a basic martial art.

Gu Yangcheon who was watching this finally moved his body.

    Tang-!

    “…!”

He struck the incoming spear with his fist changing its trajectory. There was no hesitation in his rough movements.

Dangdeok was momentarily taken aback but quickly spun his body to correct the trajectory of the spear.

    In that brief moment created.

Gu Yangcheon did not miss the opportunity and approached Dangdeok extending his fist.

    Heuk Yeom Taeyarang.

From his fingertips flames in the shape of a wolf burst forth towards Dangdeok.

    Kwaaaah-!

An overwhelming blaze shot straight ahead engulfing a wide area in flames.

In an instant the hot flames turned the surroundings into chaos but Gu Yangcheon’s gaze was not focused ahead but to the side.

    He spread his palm.

Immediately the heat condensed into a handful.

Gradually the condensed heat transformed into a sphere.

It resembled the flame jade he had used before but its color was black and it had a much clearer shape with a subtle vibration.

    Rotation.

Gu Yangcheon did not forget the teachings passed down from his father.

Indeed focusing on the meaning of rotation made him feel that the power of the martial arts had become a bit stronger.

Recalling this Gu Yangcheon surveyed the front.

Still engulfed in black flames he could not feel Dangdeok’s presence in front of him.

Unlike his massive body he had swiftly evaded.

Where could he have gone? Gu Yangcheon did not ponder.

If he didn’t know where he was he would just destroy all the likely places.

Gu Yangcheon grasped the flame jade created on his palm and without hesitation threw it to the ground.

Whooom-! The jade that hit the ground emitted a short vibration.

    Guaaaah-!

It unleashed an immense heat beginning to sweep the surroundings with qi.

The black flames that erupted alongside it were indeed black flames but the explosive pressure spiraled like a whirlwind which was extraordinary.

Nearby trees were uprooted and swept away by the wind.

Immediately afterward they were often engulfed in flames and burned black.

After a brief moment of such an explosion passed and when the short breath of the tempest ceased.

Gu Yangcheon stood in the same spot surveying the surroundings.

Except for the spot where he stood everything else had been reduced to ashes.

And not far away he could see a giant with a spear kneeling on one knee looking at Gu Yangcheon.

    “Huh… Huh…”

It seemed that with his enhanced qi for self-defense the damage wasn’t too severe.

However judging by his rough breathing it seemed he wasn’t completely unscathed.

Gu Yangcheon was quite surprised to confirm this.

    ‘Just as I worried.’

It was true that that guy’s realm was lower than the Black Dragon Sword.

But his resistance to demonic qi was higher than that of the Black Dragon Sword.

Gu Yangcheon believed this was related to the blood of the demonic beast he possessed and it seemed that was indeed the case.

    ‘Hmm.’

    This was troublesome.

If he had resistance to demonic qi there might be issues later in corrupting him into a demonic practitioner.

    That would be quite problematic.

Moreover he could also tell that Dangdeok’s movements were becoming faster.

Was he perhaps getting used to it?

    ‘To my demonic qi?’

Thinking this he stimulated the demonic qi within the guy’s body.

Then the demonic qi within Dangdeok’s qi center immediately writhed and went into a frenzy.”’
