    407 (Part 2)

‘What on earth did my nephew fall for?’

Mo Yong-bi-yeon wondered what exactly her nephew Mo Yong-hee-a found appealing about Gu Yang-cheon.

To be honest while he resembled his father it was only in the fierce atmosphere and sharp gaze he inherited.

In terms of looks he seemed to fall short compared to his father.

Of course she kept this thought to herself as she had seen Mo Yong-hee-a give her a serious look for the first time when she brought it up.

‘His personality… he doesn’t seem particularly taciturn.’

He didn’t seem overly talkative but he wasn’t quiet either.

Rather one could say his personality appeared somewhat unpleasant.

While rumors are often exaggerated the claim that he had a bad temper didn’t seem far from the truth.

    So summing it all up.

    He wasn’t particularly good-looking.

His personality was on the bad side.

He wasn’t particularly big and there were many women around him.

All he had was overwhelming talent and a solid future as a martial artist because of it.

Given this Mo Yong-bi-yeon thought it was unlikely that her nephew would be drawn to him for anything other than superficial reasons let alone feel love.

    ‘…Why?’

This was a part she found hard to understand.

Consequently the notion that he was overflowing with female attention didn’t make much sense either.

‘If this is genetic then it must be inherited.’

If he inherited not only talent but also this aspect it could be possible.

But no matter how she looked at it it didn’t make sense.

    ‘…There must be something…’

There must be some charm she couldn’t see. That must be why it had come to this.

Although she hadn’t seen her nephew in a long time she believed that he wouldn’t have taken a liking to someone unattractive.

Knowing this Mo Yong-bi-yeon wanted to support him.

    It was just that.

‘The problem is that I feel a bit guilty about it…’

The reason she wanted to support him was mixed with a sinister feeling of wanting to vicariously satisfy herself by projecting her own feelings onto her nephew.

Well it’s probably for the best…

Feeling that discomfort Mo Yong-bi-yeon moved on.

After all she had said she was on guard duty so she was looking for Gu Yang-cheon.

Normally it would be standard to patrol the area but.

The reason she was specifically searching for Gu Yang-cheon was.

‘Didn’t he say not to disturb him during training at night?’

This was something Gu Yang-cheon had directly mentioned.

She recalled how he had confidently told her a senior of sorts to stay away at night and not to look for him.

What was strange was that instead of feeling annoyed or thinking he was rude it seemed to suit him so well that she felt no particular emotion.

It was partly because Mo Yong-bi-yeon was the type not to care about trivial matters.

But it was indeed a curious feeling.

To think that being rude suited him she thought it was quite a peculiar talent.

With such a ridiculous thought Mo Yong-bi-yeon couldn’t help but smile.

With a smile on her face she continued to rummage through the forest.

“Where on earth could our precious young master be… hmm?”

As she looked around in search of Gu Yang-cheon.

In the distance a group caught Mo Yong-bi-yeon’s eye.

    “Oh….”

As soon as she saw it Mo Yong-bi-yeon smiled and dashed forward.

The distance that had seemed far was quickly closed with her steps.

    Thud.

    “Hello?”

    “Eek!!”

The sudden appearance of Mo Yong-bi-yeon startled the woman with deep green hair.

The woman was Dang So-yeol the child of the Poison King.

Seeing this a glint of interest appeared in Mo Yong-bi-yeon’s eyes.

It wasn’t because Dang So-yeol was startled.

It was because unlike Dang So-yeol the other women present didn’t seem surprised at all.

Rather they seemed to be preparing to stand and greet her as if they had noticed her approach.

Mo Yong-bi-yeon watched this with curiosity.

    ‘Look at that.’

The child of the Poison King had a cute appearance that wouldn’t lose out anywhere.

But she couldn’t compare to the two women she was currently looking at.

Even Mo Yong-bi-yeon was surprised by the beauty of the two.

One was a woman with hair close to white-blue.

Her drowsy half-closed eyes and the strange atmosphere they contained were exquisite.

The other had brown hair with a golden sheen and looking at her splendid golden eyes made one feel as if they were being drawn in.

Either one of them could be counted among the beauties of the Central Plains.

Seeing the two Mo Yong-bi-yeon nodded to herself.

    ‘I see.’

With their distinctive appearances she immediately recognized who these two were.

The woman with white-blue hair must be the daughter of the Sword King the talentless one Geom Mu-hee.

And the other one was the successor of the Sword Lord the child of that old man.

    ‘That means…’

    All three gathered here.

Were women chasing after Gu Yang-cheon just like her nephew.

    ‘Ha.’

Seeing this she couldn’t help but sigh. Wasn’t it a bit too much to have so many women around?

It seemed that he didn’t inherit anything from his father but rather took after the most prominent traits.

    Moreover this Geom Mu-hee…

‘She was said to be his fiancée.’

The fact that she was engaged meant that she was the one most likely to be by Gu Yang-cheon’s side.

Thinking of this Mo Yong-bi-yeon couldn’t help but smile slightly.

“Hello beautiful ladies. Do you know who this Unnie is?”

At Mo Yong-bi-yeon’s words Dang So-yeol’s eyes widened as she prepared to greet her.

“I am honored to meet the Bloodline of the Tang Clan Senior Baekryeonggeom…!”

Following her Wi Seol-ah and Namgung Bi-ah also bowed their heads.

“I am honored to meet Senior Baekryeonggeom. My name is Wi Seol-ah….”

    “…I am Namgung Bi-ah….”

“Nice to meet you. Don’t be so stiff; you can call me Unnie comfortably.”

    They were truly beautiful girls.

Beyond their outstanding appearances they were radiant enough to remind one of those times.

Especially a woman in love tends to shine brightly.

In that sense they were already dazzling.

    Like stars.

    Perhaps that’s why.

Mo Yong-bi-yeon momentarily forgot her purpose of finding Gu Yang-cheon and felt a playful spirit rising within her.

“I heard you’re friends of our nephew right?”

    Startled.

Perhaps it was the title that slipped from Mo Yong-bi-yeon’s lips. The three of them froze simultaneously.

Confirming this Mo Yong-bi-yeon continued speaking.

“You’re quite lucky. Being friends with such beautiful girls… Please take good care of our nephew. He may not be very lucky since he resembles his father but he’s a good kid.”

“Your nephew… are you referring to Miss Mo Yong?”

At Dang So-yeol’s voice which sounded somewhat flustered Mo Yong-bi-yeon smiled brightly.

“Which Mo Yong? I’m also a Mo Yong.”

    “Ah that…”

    “I’m joking. Yes our nephew.”

“Then… if you’re referring to your nephew are you perhaps talking about Mister Gu Yang-cheon…?”

“Hmm? Oh that’s right too. Our Yang-cheon.”

    Our Yang-cheon.

At Mo Yong-bi-yeon’s words the atmosphere among the three shifted once more.

In that moment Dang So-yeol cleared her throat.

    She looked somewhat uncomfortable.

“Anyway Unnie surprised you by suddenly interrupting right? I’m sorry. I came to ask something.”

    “…Yes.”

“Have you seen our nephew anywhere? I can’t seem to find him.”

A subtle chill could be felt in her voice.

Even as Mo Yong-bi-yeon sensed that atmosphere she didn’t stop speaking.

She wanted to see how they would react.

“If you happen to see him please tell this Noona to come…”

Just as she was about to continue speaking.

“It seems you are misunderstanding something.”

    “Hmm?”

Someone interrupted Mo Yong-bi-yeon’s words with a clear voice.

At first she thought it was a child from the Tang Clan but surprisingly the culprit turned out to be a child from the Namgung Clan.

Judging by her sleepy eyes and awkward speech she had assumed she was quiet.

But unlike the first impression an unexpected atmosphere was felt.

“What do you mean by that?”

“He is… not the nephew of Senior Baekryeonggeom…”

Namgung Bi-ah met Mo Yong-bi-yeon’s gaze with her clear blue eyes.

Those eyes seemed to look deep into Mo Yong-bi-yeon to a point she couldn’t comprehend.

    ‘…Oh.’

Mo Yong-bi-yeon couldn’t help but feel a slight admiration for the energy emanating from Namgung Bi-ah.

    ‘Look at her?’

She was said to be one of the promising prodigies but she had a much more mature aura than expected.

    Moreover.

    Fighting spirit.

Mo Yong-bi-yeon felt the fighting spirit from Namgung Bi-ah.

    She looked the most docile.

Was she actually the fiercest of them all?

It seemed she was showing her fighting spirit as if she wouldn’t let Mo Yong-bi-yeon’s words slide.

    ‘And.’

Mo Yong-bi-yeon subtly glanced at the other two.

The girl who was the disciple of the Sword Lord had a gaze that had transformed sharply just like this child.

The child from the Tang Clan seemed to be observing the atmosphere while showing signs of discomfort.

Seeing their expressions Mo Yong-bi-yeon thought.

    ‘How cute.’

Rather than thinking that these kids were being rude she felt a refreshing joy.

It reminded her of a time long ago.

Was it with the current Sword Queen So-i?

There had been a similar situation when she faced the previous Sword Queen.

Knowing she could never win she had drawn her sword against the Sword Queen saying she couldn’t let this go.

What had the Sword Queen said back then? She couldn’t remember.

While she didn’t recall the words she remembered the actions she had taken.

Even if she remembered the words she wouldn’t be able to follow them.

If Mo Yong-bi-yeon tried to mimic the Sword Queen’s tone it would be so awkward that it would prick her tongue.

So Mo Yong-bi-yeon wanted to use her own style.

“Beautiful girls. It seems my previous words didn’t sit well with you?”

At Mo Yong-bi-yeon’s words the three flinched.

Not only the words but also the fighting spirit contained within them was felt.

    However contrary to expectations.

“I’m sorry. I was just trying to tease you a bit but it seems I went too far. I apologize.”

As Mo Yong-bi-yeon suddenly offered an apology the atmosphere felt somewhat relaxed.

As a master of the Baekryeonggeom it wasn’t something one could easily admit to being wrong and apologize for so it wasn’t a situation where they could say much more.

Thus if they wanted they could let it go like this but unfortunately Mo Yong-bi-yeon didn’t wish for that.

Seeing the expressions of the women Mo Yong-bi-yeon smiled brightly and spoke.

“Then how about we do something fun with Unnie instead of this?”

Just as the three were about to feel puzzled by what she meant.

    Swish.

Mo Yong-bi-yeon drew her sword from its sheath.

In that moment fighting spirit erupted from her body and began to spread throughout the forest.
