Childhood Friend of the Zenith – 351 (Part 2)

351 (Part 2)
**Thud.**
With every small movement the sound of bones echoes.
Someone who has risen from the coffin seems unfamiliar with their own body repeating movements several times.
Thud thud.
Each time the sound that had been continuous diminished as the movements were repeated.
Finally when the sound ceased altogether.
A figure emerged from the coffin stepping through the smoke.
Seeing this the dancer hurriedly approached and knelt.
“…Are you alright? Is there anywhere uncomfortable?”
The figure while looking around their body responds to the dancer’s words.
“It’s a humble flesh but it is sufficient.”
“I apologize.”
“It is not something you should apologize for; there is likely only one flesh that would satisfy me.”
Cough cough.
The figure lets out a laugh.
Only after the smoke had completely dissipated could the owner of the voice be discerned.
As they brushed their hair back and checked their body it was surprisingly Jang Seon-yeon.
No that’s not right.
He is not Jang Seon-yeon.
He merely wore a mask; he was not such a primitive being.
Where had the eyes that Jang Seon-yeon possessed gone?
A pair of bright red eyes had taken their place.
One cheek appeared to be covered in rough reptilian skin.
As if aware of this he gently stroked his cheek with his hand and the remaining traces disappeared.
He also repeatedly closed and opened his eyes a few times.

Then he returned to the eyes that Jang Seon-yeon had.
Afterward he asks the dancer.
“Dancer.”
“Yes….”
“Did you convey my words as I instructed?”
“Yes. I have informed the Abbot and the Alliance Leader in advance.”
Swoosh.
Jang Seon-yeon no the Blood Demon (혈마) slowly walks out and puts on the clothes that the dancer had prepared.
“It feels refreshing to walk on my own feet after such a long time.”
A smile rises as if he is pleased.
How many years has it been?
Perhaps it has been several hundred years.
It doesn’t feel like that much time has passed.
No it might be that I have not cared much about the passage of time making it feel even less real.
“…Master.”
At the sudden sound of the dancer’s voice the Blood Demon turns around.
“Yeah.”
“May I dare to ask you something?”
What could she be trying to ask?
The Blood Demon looks down at the dancer with an expression of interest.
This was a sign of permission.
“Why do you move directly now… I would like to ask.”
“Reason.”
The Blood Demon brushes away an imaginary beard at the dancer’s question.
Though the gesture seemed somewhat ridiculous the dancer did not laugh.
“If I were to find a reason it is simply that the time has come for me to move.”
“Is it the time you have been waiting for?”
“Yes.”
In the distant past.
The Blood Demon was sealed.
People say that the Blood Demon was killed in the world.
But the reality is different.
He was not killed.
It was merely a sealing.
Those who ultimately judged that they could not kill the Blood Demon chose to seal him so that he could never be resurrected again.
Do you know how meticulous and powerful the formations needed to seal a single Blood Demon were?
Not only did they separate the flesh and energy and let them flow into the heavens.

They even tore apart the five senses mixed with the soul to scatter them so they could never be reattached.
After emptying the framework and essence of the soul they stacked formations upon formations to block it.
Normally it should not have been undone for several centuries let alone much longer.
However the Blood Demon broke free from the seal not even a hundred years after the Blood Demon War ended.
Contrary to the expectation that it would take several centuries.
It took less than a hundred years.
Ironically the Blood Demon had already anticipated this.
It was impossible for mere human-made formations to block him.
A hundred years. That alone is quite a story.
However although he was released from the seal his flesh and energy.
Along with his five senses had not yet returned.
There was no worry.
In the end they would return in due time.
Such is the flow and it was a story that would unfold according to the order set by the world.
What the Blood Demon had to do was simply endure.
Time passed like that.
And the time had come.
The scattered pieces of the Blood Demon had come back after a long time.
“I did not expect the pieces to mix with other souls but it is not a bad thing.”
The five senses of the Blood Demon which had been wandering for a long time in the cycle of reincarnation.
Gathered in one era as if they had been waiting.
Is this also a predetermined sequence?
Thinking so it is utterly amusing.
Someone flashes through the Blood Demon’s mind.
A man with deep golden hair.
“Didn’t I say that? It’s a futile endeavor.”
Though he said it was futile the image of the foolish man who stubbornly walked on without believing it comes to mind.
Look in the end isn’t the flow going in the predetermined direction?
“There may be a slight anomaly but it will be nothing more than a futile struggle.”
Splash.
He passes over a wet floor and the dancer follows his steps.
“Right you asked why I am moving now.”
“Yes.”
“Because the world is urging me.”
“…The world… you mean?”
The beings that each possess one of the Blood Demon’s five senses were born into this world.
From the moment they were born the Blood Demon felt it.
Every single sense without exception.
Is it truly a coincidence?
No it cannot be.
The pieces that should have been born at the time the Blood Demon was resurrected were not born then.
They were postponed.
It was not yet time.
Thus after several hundred years the meaning of being given all at once is.
“Cough cough.”
The Blood Demon simply laughed.
It is such an obvious story that it is exceedingly amusing.
The Blood Demon looked up at the ceiling.
Though it was the tightly sealed ceiling of the underground the Blood Demon’s eyes were looking beyond it.
To the sky that would unfold to even higher places.
“Are you that afraid?”
A chilly wind suddenly brushes by.
“What is there to be afraid of? I am enjoying this so much.”
With a slight smile at the one who would not provide an answer the Blood Demon turned his head to look at the dancer.
The dancer lowered her head to avoid meeting the Blood Demon’s gaze.
Though covered by a veil the dancer’s face was clearly visible to the Blood Demon.
Seeing this the Blood Demon says.
“It seems your siblings have met each other.”
“…!”
At the mention of siblings the dancer’s shoulders flinch.
Along with that she had to suppress the emotions boiling up inside her.
It was jealousy.
As she bit her lip slightly to erase her feelings.
The Blood Demon watching the dancer nodded his head.
“What is making you so angry?”
“Oh no. How could I….”
The Blood Demon thinks about the dancer’s actions.
A pitiful creature.
After all unlike the children who shared flesh and energy.
The dancer had only a few of his scales.
Jealousy such a narrow-minded emotion but the Blood Demon did not blame the dancer.
He observed the dancer carefully before turning his head to look at the entrance.
“Right now I just want to feel the wind.”
Normally he would have stayed here a bit longer.
But an anomaly that made the Blood Demon uneasy had appeared.
The predetermined flow remained the same.
Yet within it he could feel something popping out and slightly disrupting it.
“How fascinating.”
An anomaly that intruded upon a story that should have been absolutely unchanging.
It was something that Yeon Il-cheon had longed for but ultimately could not achieve.
The Blood Demon briefly recalls someone with a fierce appearance.
What a truly strange child.
Not only did she harbor a terrifying being within her but half of her was not even human.
Let alone how many marks of the other world she possessed.
If one body bore that many marks her soul would have burned long ago yet she was still breathing normally.
Moreover she seemed completely unaware of her own state.
If that is not an anomaly then what is?
The Blood Demon confirmed that the anomaly he had so long wished for and anticipated was there.
Excited the Blood Demon could not help but take a step forward.
“This time I will go see it myself.”
Anticipation swells.
“To find everything I had scattered.”
Including the five senses.
The Blood Demon was seeking to reclaim his flesh and energy.
