Childhood Friend of the Zenith – 329 (Part 2)
by Jessie@AFNCC
329 (Part 2)
I set my direction and moved my steps.
Then suddenly I looked towards Jang Seon-yeon.
The traces of that guy lay on the ground not moving at all.
Of course.
I had burned it until it turned black.
That was also a form of control.
I had tried hard not to burn it easily.
But adjusting it thinly was still difficult.
As I quietly stared at it I turned my head back again.
‘It was tough and dirty. Let’s not look forward.’
Meeting that guy was enough for two lifetimes.
I hope this is really the end.
With that thought I moved my steps.
Thud.
I took a step and surveyed my surroundings.
It was to check once more where I should go.
I took another step.
I wrapped my qi around me.
I was thinking of leaping quickly and flying away.
The boiling demonic beasts as much as they were were bothersome but I wasn’t that afraid.
Now to leap.
Just as I was about to take my last step.
Thud.
Hmm….
“•••!”

An unknown unpleasant feeling.
I quickly turned around. It felt like I had to look there.
What I saw was still just the burned body of Jang Seon-yeon.
Why was that?
Hmm.
I heard a sound in my ear.
This qualitative resonance.
Should I call this a sound? It felt somehow different from just a sound.
I could feel the vibration.
I could tell where it was coming from.
It was the qi center.
And it was a bit deeper.
‘•••Blood energy?’
It was the place where blood energy was stored. The blood energy seemed to start boiling as if it was reacting.
The energy that I thought I couldn’t use after crossing into this world.
It began to resonate on its own.
At that moment.
Swoosh….
“•••What?”
The body of Jang Seon-yeon which had already burned black to the point of being unrecognizable.
Started to move little by little.
With every movement black ash flowed down.
Yet it did not stop moving.
Sss… Sss…
The body rose.
No longer able to move the body of Jang Seon-yeon which had been burned to the point of not containing any life.
Began to lift its upper body.
How could it move?
And what was this strange feeling I sensed from it?
Just when I thought I should break that thing right away.
Jang Seon-yeon lifted its upper body and began to turn its head side to side.
Its face was completely burned so it couldn’t possibly see ahead.
It looked as if it was checking its surroundings.
With every slight movement the creaking sound did not look normal at all.
In that instant.
The face of Jang Seon-yeon which had been looking around turned towards me.
My body instinctively flinched.

There was no expression left on its form.
Yet somehow I felt that it was smiling.
[Ah….]
I heard a voice.
It was closer to telepathy than a voice.
[I was wondering how the connection was cut. This was the problem.]
It was a voice I had heard before.
Where had I heard it?
A brief question crossed my mind but I could recall the answer quickly.
On the last day of the friendly duel.
When I was smashing Jang Seon-yeon.
At that time that guy had spoken to me through that body.
Jang Seon-yeon nodded at me.
No that couldn’t be called Jang Seon-yeon.
It clearly had a different name.
[It’s been a while. Do you remember me?]
When it asked if I remembered it.
I quietly whispered its identity.
“Blood Demon.”
[Hehe.]
It seemed pleased with my answer.
!..
!
..
The great sword master of the world.
Cheonghae Il-gum the leader of the sect known as Gu Pae Il Bang.
Was quietly staring at the bushes in front of the principal’s office of Sinryonggwan.
“Hmmm….”
With a sound similar to a sigh Cheonghae Il-gum looked at the empty air still filled with questions.
This was the place where Gu Yang-cheon had said he discovered the Bi-go last time.
But to Cheonghae Il-gum there were no traces or energy to be felt.
Jang-ryong had said that when the formations were resolved a door appeared in the air.
How could there be no traces left at all?
“I can’t understand.”
If he couldn’t find anything no matter how much he spread his energy.
Then what Jang-ryong and Gu Yang-cheon said must be a lie.
Or it had completely disappeared as if it had never existed.
The credibility seemed to lean towards the first assumption.
However Cheonghae Il-gum did not think those kids would lie.
“Bi-go…. How could it have been in a place like this?”
The details could only be known by coming to the Murim Alliance.
He didn’t think they would get proper information and explain it.
“Even if it existed how could that kid be the one to find it?”
Gu Yang-cheon was a kid that Cheonghae Il-gum had been paying attention to lately.
His talent was evident.
But that wasn’t the reason.
‘Since he said he heard information from the opening could that be related?’
That part was hard to believe.
Cheonghae Il-gum who knew the opening boss well found it even harder to believe.
‘Then… what about that kid?’
He had suspected that the kid had many secrets.
But the people involved were not easy.
Like father like son.
“•••I decided to call him again later. I must make sure then.”
Cheonghae Il-gum let out a deep sigh and brushed his beard.
The sighs he hadn’t stopped even when he was young.
Seemed to have increased even more as he aged.
Now was the time when all the students were out for practice.
So it seemed fine to wander around this somewhat quiet place.
To soothe the chaos inside.
Just as he was thinking of taking a little walk.
Grggg-!
“What…?”
Cheonghae Il-gum felt something in the qi sense he had spread throughout Sinryonggwan.
Immediately Cheonghae Il-gum wrapped his energy around his body and drew his sword.
It was an energy that made him feel uneasy just by sensing it.
The unique smell of unorthodox sects wafted through.
Feeling that Cheonghae Il-gum let out a hollow laugh.
“I must be getting old.”
For this Cheonghae Il-gum to be guarding here.
That trivial unorthodox sects would dare to come out like this.
It was something he couldn’t even imagine when he was young.
As he recalled that thought just as Cheonghae Il-gum was about to leap towards the direction where he felt the energy.
“Excuse me.”
A voice came from around Cheonghae Il-gum.
“Are you perhaps Cheonghae Il-gum?”
At the light question.
Cheonghae Il-gum’s sharp qi spread around.
It was an energy he hadn’t felt until it came right behind him.
‘How could this be?’
His qi sense was spread throughout Sinryonggwan.
How could someone penetrate that energy and come right behind him?
Raising his fighting spirit Cheonghae Il-gum asked the owner of the voice.
“Who are you?”
Cheonghae Il-gum scrutinized the opponent.
It was a considerable giant.
Wearing a black-stained martial arts uniform. Wrapped in an unknown beast skin.
A thick long scar was visible on his neck.
Just seeing that sent chills down his spine.
Cheonghae Il-gum could immediately tell.
It was an opponent whose chances of winning were unknown.
‘Who on earth is this?’
A person of that level yet he couldn’t identify him.
A cold sweat trickled down Cheonghae Il-gum’s back.
Amidst the tension.
“It seems so. Nice to meet you.”
The man smiled at Cheonghae Il-gum.
As his huge mouth opened yellow teeth came into view.
Cheonghae Il-gum raised his tension and looked at the opponent.
All he could think of was escape.
His pride as a martial artist didn’t matter.
The fact that such a person had intruded.
‘The kids are in danger.’
It meant that the other students of Sinryonggwan were in danger.
Cheonghae Il-gum had to find a way out regardless of victory or defeat.
Because he had to protect the other kids.
Just then.
“You seem to be deep in thought Cheonghae Il-gum. Your gaze is wavering.”
“•••!”
“Fortunately it means I’m still a danger to you. I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“I ask again… who are you?”
“Me?”
At Cheonghae Il-gum’s question the giant smiled as if he liked it.
“Ah it’s been a while since I’ve spoken so I’m excited.”
Hooou-!
Using the giant’s body as a pole rough energy burst out in all directions.
“I hope you remember me.”
As the energy began to engulf the surroundings.
The giant pulled out a massive sword and slammed it into the ground.
“I am called the Black Dragon Sword.”
“•••!”
“From your expression it seems you know me.”
Cheonghae Il-gum’s eyes widened at hearing the giant’s alias.
It was a name that Cheonghae Il-gum also knew.
However it was a name that had long been dead.
The giant who seemed to enjoy Cheonghae Il-gum’s surprise chuckled.
Then he drew his sword and aimed it at Cheonghae Il-gum.
“Shall we dance the sword dance together?”
The Black Dragon Sword smiled as if he was delighted at the thought of dancing the sword dance after a long time.
