Chapter 0193 Fire (2 / 2)
by Jessie@AFNCC“Help!”
While the crowd was contemplating this, a call came into the crowd’s ears.
The crowd was in a low mood, and with the excessive heat would not have wanted to move, but the curiosity of the nation drove them to rise and look out the window.
But the sunlight, shaking them for a moment, made them unable to find their target.
It took a moment to slow down before following the source of the sound to see the penthouse not far away.
There was fire and smoke, and a couple holding their child rushed out the window and kept calling for help.
It was only now, in the end times, when it was extraordinarily quiet outside, that their cries for help could be heard.
Unfortunately, there are only one or two occupants in a building now, so where’s the rescue.
Well a few floors below them a family opened a window and poked their heads out waving their arms upwards and shouting something.
Only to see the middle-aged man turn around and enter the room, and on his way out he had a few more sheets in his hand.
He was tying knots at the window, trying to climb down, following the directions of his downstairs neighbor.
The child was crying her heart out in the woman’s arms, and the woman kept coaxing the child over and over again, urging her husband to hurry.
The fire had burned not far behind them.
The man quickly knotted and twisted the sheet into a strand of rope and tied one end to the fallout fence.
He tried to tie up his wife and child first and let them downstairs, but unfortunately the child kept struggling non-stop.
There was nothing for it but for the wife to keep calming the children and for the man to go downstairs first to meet them.
All the man could do was tie the sheet around his waist, and after pulling hard on it to make sure it was secure, he took a deep breath, stepped on the stool and climbed out the window.
Sitting suspended on the edge of the window, he was burned by the fiery frame.
The crowd watched as their breathing unconsciously slowed down for fear of startling the man across from them.
The man tugged tightly at the sheet and turned a little, his feet stomping against the wall as he carefully moved down the wall one step at a time.
Everyone watched this scene nervously, not daring to utter a single breath.
No one breathed a sigh of relief until the occupant downstairs reached out and wrapped his arms around the man’s thighs.
The country is still genetically good at heart.
The man managed to escape too quickly to rejoice and quickly undid the sheet tied around his waist.
Lying on the window, he tilted his head to greet his wife upstairs.
The woman tied the sheet around the little boy and tried to put the child down first.
“Don’t be afraid, Daddy will be in
But no matter how much she coaxed, the boy just struggled.
Seeing the fire behind her getting closer and closer and the burning sensation getting stronger and stronger, the woman had a heart attack and strapped the baby to her back.
She shakily climbed up to the window.
With most of her body poking out the window, the little boy behind her sensed the danger and began to struggle incessantly in addition to crying.
The woman felt the heat outside, looked at the height of the window, and with the child struggling, she was too scared and hesitant to go down.
In the extreme heat, the cries of the boy who kept struggling gradually weakened.
The man who had just come back from the dead was downstairs, calming his children and encouraging his wife to hurry down.
Taking advantage of the lull in the child’s quiet, the woman gritted her teeth and followed her husband’s example, tugging the sheet down a little.
Beads of sweat fell down her eyelids, blurring her vision, and the pounding heat made her dizzy.
She held on with a strong will in order to survive and for the sake of the children behind her.
A few floors were a long way away, but eventually it came to an end, and the man downstairs had reached his wife’s ankles.
Just as the crowd was about to breathe a sigh of relief, the bear child behind the woman suddenly cried loudly and struggled violently.
The boy’s legs flailed haphazardly in the air, and the five or six year old struggled with predictable vigor.
In a moment of inattention, the woman’s tight grip on the bedsheets fell from her hands, and her entire body instantly plummeted downward.
