    ◈ Episode 69 Magical Synesthesia (2)

    “Hmm.”

Flora touched her forehead and slowly opened her eyes.

    ‘what.’

I saw something and fainted but in the middle of it it felt like I was dreaming.

    Nostalgic and heartbreaking.

This feeling of warmth embracing your body.

It was as if I was in the arms of my mother who was now dead.

Belatedly Flora realized that she was lying on the sofa.

    Slurp.

    “ah.”

Flora slowly raised her upper body and belatedly discovered that the coat covering her body had fallen down.

A black frock coat with golden thread.

I couldn’t help but recognize the familiar clothes.

    “This is….”

    “Are you awake?”

I turned my head towards where the voice came from without realizing it.

What I saw there was Ludger Chelisi sitting at his work desk and reading a paper.

Instead of the coat he usually wears what he wears underneath is a white dress shirt and a black vest.

Her long bangs are slightly pushed back leaving her forehead clearly exposed. Below that is a sleek nose bridge that looks as if a sculptor thought about it and carved it.

The usual sharp gaze was diluted thanks to the rimless glasses on his face making his intellectual feel even more prominent.

That alone made his mood quite different from usual.

    “I… what on earth happened…?”

Flora couldn’t remember why she fainted or the situation just before that.

At that question Ludger slightly raised his head and stared at her.

    “You don’t remember?”

    “yes? “A memory?”

“I showed you a magic trick.”

Only then did Flora remember what Ludger was talking about.

okay. Ludger showed her something and Flora fainted from the intense sensation she felt for the first time.

“That’s right! Teacher what the hell is that…!”

Flora tried to ask that question as she got up from the sofa but perhaps because of the shock of fainting her legs gave out and she collapsed on the sofa again.

“Keep sitting. “It looks like you haven’t easily recovered from the shock of fainting yet.”

“How long has it been since you passed out?”

“It didn’t work out very well. “About 30 minutes.”

    “30 minutes….”

I’m glad there’s still a lot left until class.

    No this is not it.

Flora shook her head and stared at Ludger as if he could almost eat him.

“What on earth was that magic spell?”

    “What do you mean?”

“The one you showed me right before I passed out!”

    “ah. “You mean that?”

Ludger answered calmly saying it was no big deal.

“It’s just something that came to mind because I saw it before. “It’s called ‘Klein disease.’”

“Klein’s disease? “That such magic existed?”

“It’s not a practical magic to begin with. Rather it’s closer to an experiment.”

    “That’s experimental?”

    Flora’s lips trembled in disbelief.

Other people might have thought it was an unusual type of magic.

The more you learn about magic the more different the Klein bottle looks.

    That’s innovation.

How else to describe the advancement of magical techniques which are basically limited to three dimensions to another level other than innovation?

Even when I see it with my own eyes I have doubts as to whether it is true.

Even what Flora accepted was much bigger.

    “okay.”

However Ludger spoke clearly as if it was no big deal.

“This is an experiment. “Mana and to what extent the magic created through it can be implemented.”

“That amazing thing is just an experiment? “What is the teacher…”

What kind of magic are you trying to create?

Flora couldn’t bear to ask that.

Because she couldn’t fathom the magic Ludger was trying to create.

    “hmm.”

Ludger stroked Flora’s chin to show her sensitive reaction.

The reason he created the Klein bottle through magic was because of his desire to explore mana which has not yet been properly discovered.

    Does mana exist purely materially?

So does mana receive the full physical effects?

    It wasn’t so.

From the magic manifested through magic mana was already something that went beyond the laws of physics.

Magic is the embodiment of mystery. The magic power that is its basis or mana is the raw material of that mystery.

‘The unknown itself that has not yet been revealed.’

If you have mana you can jump over space.

Among the people he remembered there were those who made more possible.

It was this Klein bottle-type procedure that proved the hypothesis.

A form that can be realized in four dimensions beyond three dimensions.

A structure that extends beyond the Möbius strip made of cotton.

In a Klein bottle the inside is outside and the outside is inside.

It was literally close to an endless cycle.

‘Here one hypothesis is satisfied. Mana can interfere with dimensions beyond just space.’

However this Klein bottle technique only serves to prove the hypothesis.

There wasn’t enough research yet to apply it to other magic.

“Anyway I’m glad you woke up again.”

    “yes yes?”

Come to think of it Flora passed out in the lab but when she came to she was in the teacher’s office.

“Teacher did you move me here?”

“Because I can’t leave a fainting student in the lab.”

    “then.”

How on earth did you move it?

Flora naturally recalled Ludger lifting her who had fainted as if he were a princess.

Her face turned red in an instant.

    “That kind of thing…!”

“Flora Lumos. “Are your eyes and nose okay?”

    “yes?”

    Why all of a sudden?

Before Flora could ask Ludger struck first.

“Well don’t you perceive magic with different senses?”

    “…!”

    Flora was astonished.

Ludger immediately discovered his secret and unique constitution that no one had noticed until now.

    “How on earth….”

    “Because I saw it.”

    “You saw it?”

“Your pupils dilate greatly every time you see my magic. From there I learned that you were not looking at the magical process itself but rather the secondary phenomena that resulted from the magic process.”

    “….”

    I said that?

Flora couldn’t believe that Ludger had noticed such a reaction that she didn’t even know about.

    I saw your pupils dilate.

What on earth is this observation power?

“And every time I see a new magic my fingertips tremble. A reflex action that occurs when one feels momentary pleasure. “It’s a reaction closer to joy than surprise.”

    “…!”

“It is especially good to break the habit of twitching the bridge of your nose. It looks like you can perceive magic through your sense of smell but it wouldn’t be good if you twitched your nostrils so blatantly…”

    “Aaaah!”

Flora couldn’t bear it and screamed.

Ludger showed a sincere expression of ignorance.

    “Why are you screaming?”

“What a nose nostril for Lady Les! “What kind of rude words are you talking about?”

“I was talking about your habits. Still I noticed because it was me. “Be careful not to be caught by others.”

“oh my god. It’s really bad….”

Flora muttered as if she was tired of Ludger.

Ludger sighed stood up and slowly approached Flora.

    “Don’t come too close! transformation!”

“I don’t know what the misunderstanding was.”

Ludger took away his frock coat from Flora.

    Flap!

Ludger shook his frock coat in the air a few times and hung it neatly on a hanger.

“Seeing you scream so vigorously I guess your body has recovered properly. “Let’s just go out now.”

    “yes?”

“Can’t you hear me tell you to get out?”

what. Is this really the end?

Flora asked Ludger still without clearing her doubts.

    “Aren’t you curious?”

    “What do you mean?”

    “It’s about my unique constitution.”

“You mean accepting magic itself with different senses?”

    “…that’s right.”

What should I hide already? Flora nodded honestly.

    Magical synesthesia.

Flora was born with two of the five senses.

If it were any other wizard he would have rolled his eyes at this unbelievable constitution.

That’s why Flora asked with a worried voice.

    “at all.”

    But Ludger was different.

He answered in a firm voice.

    “yes?”

“I don’t care that you have that type of constitution. “Then it must be like that.”

    “What is that…”

“However it would be best not to tell others about your constitution. “Wizards become very dangerous when they discover something they don’t know.”

Flora read something in Ludger’s attitude.

Because he seemed to know about this magical synesthesia he possessed.

“In severe cases you might be kidnapped by someone and used as an experiment.”

    “….”

    Gulp.

Flora swallowed her saliva at Ludger’s sincere warning.

At the same time she couldn’t help but think that way.

‘Why are you so calm? ‘Have you met someone with a similar constitution other than me?’

    It seemed that way.

Otherwise you can’t speak or act like you know a lot.

“Teacher do you know anyone else besides me? “Someone with a similar constitution to me.”

    “….”

    Ludger did not answer.

Instead he just raised his hand and pointed to the door to the teacher’s office.

It meant that I should just leave.

Flora twitched her eyebrows at that action but did not question it.

Although it was only a moment Ludger’s face looked somewhat sad.

So she couldn’t bear to ask and had no choice but to leave the teacher’s office.

‘The teacher knew. ‘You met someone else besides me.’

    So who exactly is that?

Or rather how did Ludger know that his constitution was dangerous if discovered?

And what about the subtle expression he showed at the end?

    ‘Did we know each other?’

    Then Ludger’s actions became understandable.

He had an acquaintance who had a constitution similar to his own and that acquaintance was harmed.

So who on earth was that person? man? female?

If it was a woman what kind of relationship did the two have?

    ‘no!’

    Flora shook her head.

I felt like if I paid more attention here it would only make my mind more complicated.

    ‘okay. ‘Let’s just skip today.’

Just as she was thinking that Flora suddenly had this thought.

‘But haven’t I received any other awards for my store yet?’

Ludger only showed me a technique called the Klein bottle and did not give me anything other than that.

Because the problem was that she fainted in the first place.

Flora looked at the teacher’s office door again.

‘If you go back in now and ask for the award.’

That might be a bit much right?

‘Mr. Lee. Me too like a fool. ‘Why did I forget the most important thing because I was so preoccupied with other things?’

Flora felt like tearing out her own hair.

However time that has already passed cannot be returned.

She had no choice but to leave her regret behind and step back this time.

At that time someone came towards me from afar with shaky steps.

No to be exact towards Ludger’s teacher’s office.

    “Oh. you?”

    “uh?”

Walking with careful steps holding an old book in her arms was a girl with gray hair a color not often seen.

Did you say your name was Line?

    ‘I remember.’

Although Flora is not very interested in other people she remembers several unique students among the students taking the same classes as her.

    Line was one of them.

Did you say that you had a conflict with a noble student at the beginning of the semester?

However this is a commoner girl who is close enough to the 3rd princess to put that to shame.

Moreover her appearance is so strikingly beautiful that even if you don’t want to know her you can’t help but remember her.

    “Uh you…”

Line also recognized Flora and stopped.

Flora Lumos How could I not know her?

If you had to pick the most famous person in Seorn’s second year wouldn’t it be her?

She is the daughter of Duke Lumos and has a beautiful appearance and natural magical talent.

Unlike the non-attribute magic that has no attributes like him and whose origin is difficult to understand he is a senior with his own firm path.

But why on earth is that person in front of Ludger’s teacher’s office?

    “….”

    “….”

The two stared at each other in silence.

It’s true that we took Ludger’s classes together but other than that we had almost no contact.

However Flora could not help but wonder why Line had come to Ludger’s teacher’s office especially when looking at the book she held so dearly.

Line was also wondering why an arrogant senior like Flora was standing in front of Ludger’s teacher’s office.

It was Flora who moved first in that subtle and uncomfortable silence.

    “joy.”

She passed by Line as if she had no interest.

As Line stared at Flora’s back she remembered the purpose she had come to the teacher’s office for.

    ‘Oh that’s right. book!’

Since you’ve read all the books on non-attribute magical power haven’t you come to return it to its owner Ludger?

Thinking like that Line swallowed her saliva as she walked towards the door of the teacher’s office.

It was the moment when I took a deep breath and was about to knock.

“Come in. “The door is open.”

    Ludger’s voice came from inside.
