◈ Episode 42 Reverberations of the Past (2)
Line who had had a meeting with Ludger once walked down the hallway with a hazy expression as if she was dreaming somewhere.
Clutched in her arms was a book about non-attribute magic that Ludger had given her.
Even though I was preoccupied with something I instinctively felt that I had to treat this with utmost care.
Line who was walking down the hallway at such a fast pace stopped when she heard a voice calling her.
“Rine.”
“Huh? Senior Seo?”
A soft pleasant voice calling here.
She is a second-year student taking the same manifestation class as herself and the third princess of the empire who is famous even within Seorn but is by far the best.
Erendir was looking at Linne with concern.
“Senior what is going on here….”
“For some reason. I was worried and was waiting just in case. “You were called by Mr. Ludger.”
“yes? iced coffee! It was like that. that’s right. lol.”
“hmm?”
Erendir felt even more suspicious of Linne’s strange reaction.
“Rine. “Perhaps Mr. Ludger did something to you…”
Erendir had not regarded Ludger’s actions very favorably even before this.
Probably because the first impression was the worst.
During the first orientation Ludger showed his courage without even telling me what he would teach in his class. Because of that there was a lot of discussion among students in <Akashic Records>.
In fact it was Erendir who first asked Ludger a question in a slightly harsh tone.
For her who possesses correct and just values Ludger’s behavior was completely unacceptable.
Afterwards the content of the class was so great that she was impressed but it did not immediately resolve the negative perception she had at first.
In fact she was even more annoyed by Ludger’s cold attitude towards her due to the werewolf incident last time.
When I heard that Ludger had taken Line to the teacher’s office it was natural for me to have negative thoughts.
“That’s not true!”
Line hurriedly defended Ludger.

“Mr. Ludger was just giving me advice…! He never laid his hands on me or anything like that! “Mr. Ludger is not that kind of pervert!”
“What?”
Erendir was rather embarrassed when he said that.
Erendir’s face turned red and he spoke in a quite surprised tone.
“I didn’t mean it that way. “Line’s junior is… quite sneaky.”
“Yes yes?!”
“I was just talking about forcing them to change classes or force them to take another class. “I can’t believe I’m thinking of a relationship like that between a man and a woman…”
“Huh? Now wait a minute! “It’s not like that!”
Rine also realized that he had made a big mistake and his face turned red from embarrassment.
Seeing Liné desperately trying to say something in embarrassment Erendir burst out laughing.
“Ahaha. okay. “The thing I’m worried about hasn’t happened so I’ll just take it as that.”
“…jeongmaal.”
“So nothing really happened? “Nothing happened?”
“yes. “There wasn’t one.”
“Then what is that book?”
“ah.”
Erendir noticed that Rine was holding a book she had never seen before and pointed it out.
It was impossible to know if you didn’t know it in the first place. Line was handling that book carefully as if it were something very precious.
Of course I can’t help but be curious.
“This is from Mr. Ludger.”
“Mr. Ludger?”
Line nodded. Erendir widened his eyes in disbelief.
Although she didn’t know much about Ludger she never thought that given the man’s personality he would take care of Line who couldn’t keep up with his classes.
I thought they would actually kick me out of class.
“yes. “He said that if I learned this it would be very helpful in following the class.”
“really?”
Erendir couldn’t believe it even more when he saw Rine smiling brightly.
That Ludger is giving me this favor?
Didn’t that man scathingly and cruelly point out the students’ implementation of elemental elements in the previous class?
Of course that’s all true and I understand that it’s a way to increase motivation by touching the other person’s pride.
Erendir didn’t like that method very much.
‘for a moment. It seemed like he was particularly kind to Line back then.’
When a werewolf attacked.
Ludger remembered that he treated himself the princess rather harshly and spoke a little gently to Line.
Of course my memories of that time were slightly distorted due to my bad feelings toward Ludger but the overall context did not change.
Considering that this time he called Line aside and even handed her books.
no way….

Erendir suddenly thought of something but did not say it out loud.
At that time Rine was thinking about something and asked carefully so that only Erendir could hear.
“Could it be that you like me?”
“….”
The thoughts that Erendir had kept inside were actually spoken out loud by Rine.
Erendir shook his head as he pondered how to explain this.
“No that’s not it.”
“no?”
“okay.”
“No.”
Line also thought that what he said was not true.
But when I actually said those words I started to have doubts.
Doesn’t Mr. Ludger really like me?
It may sound like bragging to say this but Rine was confident in her appearance.
‘But isn’t I pretty enough?’
It’s not that she wasn’t and in fact Line had a beautiful appearance that caught the attention of even quite aristocrats.
The rare hair color was not only hair color but the heavenly beauty that matched it was enough to make Line’s name popular among male students in Seorn.
Suddenly Line imagined herself being with Ludger.
It seemed like they would be a good pair but Line quickly shook her head.
‘Oh anyway that’s true. ‘Doing that with someone you don’t even know well yet…’
Line had a strong conservative personality in this regard.
Erendir who saw Rine making a blank expression and then immediately shaking her head asked her carefully.
“Have you by any chance eaten?”
“yes? Oh no. yet.”
“Then do you want to eat together?”
“Is it really okay for me to do that?”
At the princess’s surprising offer of a meal Rine was so upset that she didn’t know what to do.
This is because he thought that if it were Erendir there would be people lining up to eat with him besides him.
But that was Rine’s mistake.
Erendir has rarely been with anyone until now. Her status as a princess was great but because it was so high she was shunned by other students.
There were students from noble families who occasionally spoke to him but they only contacted him for political purposes. I didn’t approach him purely because I liked a person named Erendir. What they were seeing was the Third Princess not Erendir.
okay.
To put it bluntly Erendir was an Assa who walked alone even within Seorn.
Because he was such an Erendir he mustered up the courage to offer a meal to a junior he had become close to for a long time.
‘oh my god. ‘You’re the first person who asked me to eat with them!’
And in the eyes of Rine who had been alone all this time due to an incident at the beginning of the semester it seemed like a great mercy from her senior.
As Line’s response was delayed Erendir must have thought it was a rejection and said twisting his blond hair with his fingers.
“No whatever. “There’s nothing I can do if I don’t like it or feel uncomfortable…”
“no! “I want to eat!”
At this moment Linne and Erendir had a close person to eat with for the first time.
* * *
After sending Line away I sat alone in the teacher’s room and remembered my meeting with her a little while ago.
Even though she doesn’t seem to know it I know what kind of power she has.
‘Non-attribute magical power. It’s not that surprising that the property itself doesn’t exist.’
To me there was nothing new about it as it was a new form of magic that had not been discovered until now as it had no attributes.
Because magic has always been something new to me.
Since I lived in a world without magic the magic that existed in this world always gave me a mysterious experience.
Ironically.
I who have memories and knowledge of another world recognize magic as magic much more than the wizards who are residents of this world.
Today’s wizards with a tight mindset have become isolated and stagnant in their lives.
As I realized that magic existed in death and new life my acceptance of things was on a different level than others.
Should I say that my brain’s limiter has been released?
Other wizards discovering new magic
-Non-attribute magical power? That can’t happen!
Even when I foam at the mouth I
-Non-attribute magical power? It’s a world where magic exists so there could be something like that.
We have reached a point where we can move on flexibly.
Even though his perspective on viewing and perceiving magic was different from that of the wizards of this world it was also very different.
Even that strict teacher held his tongue at this point when teaching me.
However what I cared about when I looked at Line was not her magical power but her eyes.
Non-attribute magical power is only a part of her power.
The real thing is ‘eye’.
‘Those eyes. I said I thought I saw it somewhere.’
My elderly teacher had all kinds of old books that we can’t find today most notably books about monsters and demons that were hundreds of years old.
It is said that now there are no monsters except for a very small number of cryptids but in the past this continent was full of all kinds of monsters.
And even the devil who commands such monsters.
‘It was only a moment but the look in her eyes.’
I thought of Line’s eyes.
Her eyes were a soft blue color.
However when we were talking a little while ago I noticed that Line’s eye color had subtly changed.
What floats between the dark blue irises is a pure white light that sparkles like the stars in the sky.
Her eyes resemble quiet water containing the Milky Way in the night sky.
There was no way I could not recognize those unusual eyes.
‘Eye judgment that distinguishes between good and evil. If I’m not mistaken Rine is the owner of that decision.’
The judgment eye is the eye that distinguishes between good and evil in others and beyond that clearly shows whether there is hostility towards oneself or not.
An ability that cannot be called magic but is literally closer to a miracle and mystery.
The most amazing thing about this decision is that it can reveal the ‘devils’ hiding in the gaps between humans.
‘Now those demons are almost treated as legends.’
To people these days devils are just bad guys with horns on their heads and red skin that only appear in fairy tales.
A product of lies to scare children.
However looking at the literature it seems that the devil actually existed.
‘In a world where magic exists there will also be devils. I also died and came back to life. Isn’t that something like that?’
And Line’s eyes had a lot to do with it.
I saw with my own eyes that a decision that had only existed in records actually existed.
In other words doesn’t the existence of the judgment that distinguishes between devils also determine whether the devil exists?
Another characteristic of the decision is that if it appears a major event will occur regardless of the era.
Fortunately Rine’s judgment eye was not fully awakened and she seemed to be unaware that she had such an ability.
But someday you will realize.
‘Is this ultimately fate?’
A book about non-attribute magical power that I gave to Rine.
I never would have thought that the book that ‘she’ had written would end up being passed around and returned to Rine.
Although Line herself doesn’t seem to remember.
‘It’s a bit of a pain in the ass.’
Not only did I realize that she was the owner of the decision but I also encountered a past relationship again like this.
‘I can’t believe I got involved in something like this in Seorn.’
I sighed and stood up.
Suddenly.
That’s what I thought.
If Line can use that decision properly I think she will be able to hunt down all the secret society members hiding in Seorn.
In particular the most threatening thing to me right now was the First Order whose identity is still difficult to identify.
I couldn’t figure out what it was and where it was and what it was doing. But it’s also okay to ask Sedina Roshen.
‘They say they’ll be as vigilant as possible but there has to be something to guess.’
Since I didn’t know where the First Order was and what they were doing I had no choice but to be as cautious as possible.
However if Line’s judgment plan works properly it may be of great help to me.
The three musketeers including Aidan and his friends plus Line.
If we use the power of these children cleverly maybe…
‘No it’s done. ‘Let’s get off work first.’
After putting on my coat and opening the door to leave the teacher’s office I soon heard a cackling sound outside the door and had no choice but to stop.
“Ouch.”
A girl with dark blue hair sat down on the floor holding her head as if she had hit her forehead against the door.
Looking down at her I let out a cold voice that was contrary to my embarrassed feelings.
“What’s going on here? Flora Lumos.”
