The Academy’s Undercover Professor – 39

◈ Episode 39 Flora Lumos (1)
Ludger’s magic gently wrapped around the magic that was about to explode.
Blue magic swirled around the white light that seemed about to explode.
The overlapping elements which were expanding in all directions and seemed about to explode came together in a circle and gradually began to stabilize.
Flora thought the sight took her breath away.
At that moment Ludger’s voice woke her up.
“It’s not over yet. “Don’t lose focus.”
Ludger’s thick warm hand holding her hand and a reprimand flying towards her as if reprimanding her.
Flora came to her senses again and focused on controlling her magic.
“If you stop here your magic will disappear without accomplishing anything. Is it still good?”
Flora gritted her teeth at those words.
The magic that was trying to go astray gradually regained stability but if it stops here neither of these things will work.
Ludger said.
Since you’ve come this far see the end.
‘okay. It’s better to let it fail like this…!’
He couldn’t let the magic he was trying to spread disappear like this.
Flora responded by squeezing out all of her remaining magical energy.
He had to complete this magic now in order to live up to the expectations of Ludger who helped him.
Ugh.
The three elements gathered in a circle gradually decreased in size and eventually began to take on the shape of something albeit faint.
Flora’s eyes widened at the sweet scent that passed her nose.
The color.
The colors that had scattered and run wild return to their original positions.
no.
Beyond that it started to harmonize beautifully.
‘ah.’

She stared at the magic materializing before her with trembling lips.
It all started because of Ogi and sudden greed.
Three layers of attribute elements that had previously failed.
The reason for challenging it was in fact the childish behavior of a child trying to get Ludger who had ignored him to say words of praise.
For Flora who was born with a talent for magic even difficult high-level magic was something she could eventually achieve.
That’s why magic seemed so easy and natural to Flora.
not happy with success
I didn’t dwell on failure.
Because it was something I could naturally reach someday.
I thought that mindset has not changed even now.
There would be no joy even if I succeeded in what I had failed so far.
I thought so.
“You succeeded.”
Flora’s voice did not come out when Ludger said those words.
I felt like something was breaking out of my chest.
Her eyes were focused on the completed element as if it were nailed down.
A pure white wind rotates fiercely in atomic orbits centered around a frozen flame like a sharp awl.
Three overlapping elements that combine fire ice and wind into one.
The brilliant beauty it created made Flora feel like her soul was being stolen beyond her gaze.
“pretty.”
Cheryl who was anxiously watching the scene from the side said that.
okay.
The magic she wanted to create was as beautiful as a work of art in itself.
In particular Flora’s reaction was much more passionate than the other students.
What makes her excited is more than just visual and olfactory pleasure.
It was a feeling of spiritual inspiration that bubbled up like bubbles deep in my heart.
The sense of accomplishment of overcoming a barrier you feel when you complete a magic that you have never been able to accomplish before.
Even though I didn’t achieve it on my own I still couldn’t deny this joy.
Ssssss.
The magic that had exhausted its power soon turned into a colorful powder of light and disappeared.
As Ludger watched the scene as if fascinated he opened his mouth.
“Flora Lumos.”
“yes. “Mr. Ludger.”
Flora calmly answered Ludger’s call.
But she was like that on the outside and not on the inside.
If Ludger were to say words of praise here she might be so happy that she would burst into tears.
That’s how excited she was right now.

“You did something foolish.”
“yes. …yes?”
However Flora belatedly realized what she had done at the cold words that came out of Ludger’s mouth.
ah.
She almost put the entire class of students in danger for her own greed.
As Flora faced the reality she had forgotten in the joy of succeeding in magic she had no choice but to lower her head in gloom.
“Anyone can try new magic and fail. But in the end it is you who has to bear the price of failure. “It’s you not the other students.”
“…sorry.”
Ludger was 100% right.
She almost put other classmates in danger.
In the end out of a sense of responsibility he surrounded himself with a magical barrier but was he really able to completely prevent the damage?
If Ludger hadn’t stepped forward.
Someone might have died.
“But more than anything what I criticize is your immaturity in magic Flora Lumos.”
“yes?”
What a lack of magic. What on earth are you talking about?
“When you first cast elemental stacking you mixed the elements of fire and ice right?”
“yes. “It was like that.”
“Fire and ice are polar opposites. That’s why it’s difficult to mix them together. “Because beyond making sure that the techniques do not clash with each other we need to create a stronger effect by harmonizing the techniques with each other.”
“yes that’s right.”
And Flora Lumos succeeded at it.
It embodies magic by mixing opposing forces into one.
“…So how immature is my magic?”
There couldn’t help but be a hint of disappointment in his voice.
If you’re just going to reprimand yourself all you have to do is use an unreasonable three-layer magic.
Why are you pointing out the overlapping elements of fire and ice that this side has perfectly achieved?
Flora wondered if Ludger was using his mistake as an excuse to lower the evaluation of existing overlapping elements.
‘No but still…’
When she is in danger.
Ludger helped her control the magic power that was trying to run away beyond the magic barrier she had hit.
If you do not have excellent control over magical power beyond understanding the magic and the structure of the spell you may end up in danger.
Ludger helped her by taking that risk.
There was absolutely no reason for Ludger to belittle her so mercilessly.
But still there was nothing unfair about it.
I just wanted to hear a compliment.
Just as I was about to become so disappointed Ludger unleashed his magic and created a sphere of ice and flame.
“I’ll show you now why you’re immature.”
Ludger combined the two elements he created into one.
Adjust the spell so that the magic power of both attributes does not conflict.
Combining two techniques into one.
Implement nested elements to harmonize with each other.
Flora stared intently determined not to miss that sight.
The whole process was clearly similar to what she had attempted.
But the results were not the same.
“uh?”
Because Flora’s overlap element which simply made flames as beautiful as ice and Ludger’s overlap element were fundamentally different.
Flora Lumos compared the nested elements she created with the nested elements Ludger created.
A combination of fire and ice.
If you look at the elements alone there is clearly no difference.
However the results produced by the two elements were very different.
Appearance? That’s true but the energy contained in the overlapping elements is fundamentally different.
Flora who was particularly sensitive to magic could feel it more clearly than anyone else.
The color and smell itself were different from hers.
Clearer and more fragrant.
“Flora Lumos. Do you know what this nested element I created is?”
Flora hesitated for a moment and then nodded.
I couldn’t have known without knowing.
“…yes.”
“Then explain.”
“…The nested elements you created have different magical will. “The spreading and devouring power of flames and the bitter coldness of ice coexist.”
“And yours?”
“yes?”
“I asked how yours was.”
Flora only pursed her lips and was unable to speak.
In the end Rude spoke instead.
“Flora Lumos. “The overlapping elements you created are magic that only looks beautiful and has no practical use whatsoever.”
Flora trembled at that poignant word.
There’s no need to say it so harshly.
Those words were stuck in my throat but they disappeared the moment I met Ludger’s sincere gaze.
“Magic must be practical. Even if that is not the case at least meaningless magic should not exist. That is the basic proposition of all magic.”
Ludger said this before entering class.
We need to use magic for the better.
Creating and achieving something rather than killing something.
That it leads the world in a more right direction.
“But Flora. “How was your magic?”
“I am….”
“Frozen flame. It’s a basic form of burning flame with a large element of ice added to it. okay. It’s definitely beautiful. “Because the burning fire was frozen in its original form.”
Ludger spoke in his usual voice.
“But that’s it.”
“….”
Even though Flora had ten mouths she had nothing to say.
Because everything Ludger said was true.
“Are you planning on getting a job at the circus with this magic? Or were you planning to go to the crystal palace in the capital and display your magic beautifully?”
“…Not really.”
“Then what is the significance of your magical existence? “Is this just a self-display to show off that you can use overlapping elements?”
Self-display.
Ludger’s point was impossible to refute.
It’s just beautiful magic that you don’t know what it can be used for.
Because I was nothing more or less than bragging about being able to use elemental stacking.
“At least I will appreciate the fact that some intention was added to it. “Even that failed.”
Flora lowered her head at the last striking words.
Cheryl who was sitting next to me looked at me with a worried expression but even she couldn’t offer much comfort in this situation.
Ludger sprayed the [scorching cold] he had created into the air.
The nested elements that rose near the high ceiling of the classroom exploded like firecrackers.
Grumble!
At that moment all the students in the classroom felt the illusion of hearing the sound of ice ‘burning’.
The white frost-like cold spread widely throughout the classroom without even touching the ceiling scattering soft sleet.
It fell down and melted and disappeared before it reached the students.
However all the students gathered here could feel it.
That is a magic that is more opposite than anything else when it comes to spreading flames.
It is the most optimal magic for extinguishing fire.
“Flora Lumos. The overlap of your properties was quite interesting. “I’ve never seen a wizard demonstrate that level of skill at that age.”
Flora’s eyes which had been taken away by Ludger’s magic turned to Ludger again.
The moment I meet the face of the man who is looking at me with sad eyes.
She felt so guilty for no reason that her heart sank.
“But the direction of your actions is wrong. I’m not discussing your skills. “We are discussing something much more fundamental than that.”
“….”
“Don’t use magic just for show. “That actually lowers your value Flora.”
“What is my worth?”
“okay. “This is my sincere advice for you.”
Are you talking about its value while criticizing it so harshly?
But Flora couldn’t help but agree with Ludger’s words.
The magic he created was just a facade to show off his skills and draw praise from others.
Conversely what Ludgar created was much more practical even though it overlapped the same elements as hers.
The power of a flame lies not only in its firepower but also in its ability to spread quickly without being extinguished once it catches fire.
Major incidents that occur due to fire always occur as the fire spreads widely.
Ludger captured that characteristic in coldness.
The moment it explodes a cold chill spreads and spreads like an infectious disease.
The purpose was to extinguish the spreading fire.
Considering that the magic up to now was to materialize ice purely in the form of a weapon and either shoot it out or create a blizzard over a wide area.
What Ludger created was very practical.
‘I lost again.’
I thought I would get recognition this time but that wasn’t the case.
Instead of feeling proud Flora realized how impatient and immature she had been.
‘I’ve never had anything like this before.’
Above all it was Ludger’s sincere gaze towards him.
It didn’t disappear from my mind.
An attitude of genuine concern rather than ridicule or contempt.
‘Has anyone ever looked at me like this?’
There wasn’t.
There were always only two eyes on her.
Envy.
And jealousy.
Not to mention the brothers and sisters who don’t want to see their families.
Not only her classmates but even her seniors were jealous of her.
And the teachers of Seorn were the same.
Despite the many years she had spent learning magic Flora’s talent caught up with her in an instant.
Every time that happened the teachers’ eyes were always filled with unbearable flame-like jealousy.
Even though Flora knew it she didn’t show it.
Because that’s what real talent is. There was no need to worry about the gaze of those who were jealous of talent.
But I had no intention of just letting it go.
So he presented a more overwhelming appearance and trampled on their pride.
I thought that was natural.
But today.
Flora was embarrassed for the first time in her life by Ludger’s unfamiliar attitude.
‘Mr Ludger.’
He saved her from almost failing in magic.
It helped me overcome the barrier of three overlapping elemental elements that I had been unable to overcome until now.
And he looked straight at her and even lectured her harshly.
Flora suddenly realized belatedly that she was dizzy and out of breath.
Mana depletion phenomenon.
Too much magic power was consumed to implement three overlapping elemental magic.
‘I feel like I’m going to die of exhaustion here but is the teacher okay?’
Even though Ludger who had suppressed the magic power that was about to explode must have consumed much more magic power he did not lose a single breath.
It’s my first time.
Feeling the real ‘wall’.
And the wall was so high and thick that I wasn’t sure if I could get over it.
Still I didn’t want to give up.
Flora was in a good mood.
Flora strongly promised herself that she would definitely surpass him next time.
‘what.’
Wow.
Ludger who was chewing the magic recovery pill secretly hidden in his mouth trembled without realizing it.
