The Academy’s Undercover Professor – 35

◈ Episode 35 Nightcrawler
As Terry Ryan Howl and the two deputies appeared the Rickson mansion was filled with tension.
The police officers who were inspecting the scene of the incident saw Terina and quickly stood up and saluted her.
“Marquis Te Terina! It’s an honor to meet you! “My name is Inspector Terboran!”
“Oh yeah. “You’ve worked hard.”
“If you don’t mind may I ask what brings Marquis Terryna here?”
“Didn’t you hear? “As of this time our Security Bureau takes over all investigative authority for the murder case that occurred at the Rickson Mansion.”
“You mean from the Bo Security Department?”
Inspector Teboran who had a long beard and sideburns swallowed.
I didn’t think it was just a simple murder case but if the Security Bureau were to step in it would be extremely dangerous.
Because the Security Bureau doesn’t really step up unless it’s something really serious.
“Excuse me! “Everyone withdraw!”
The inspector and his subordinate police officers quickly left the scene.
What they had to do now was to block the reporters like a pack of hyenas who were still keeping an eye on the events inside the mansion at the gate.
As the sight disappeared the younger-looking female knight one of the two male and female lieutenants who followed Terina relaxed her shoulders.
“Ugh. “I got scolded for trying to set the mood.”
“Uh huh. Enya. “Even if you don’t have eyes to see act in a way that lives up to the reputation of the Knights of Nightcrawler.”
Female knight Enya rolled her eyes as her senior Lloyd scolded her next to her.
“No senior. However there is no need to go this far.”
“Enya you…”
“Stop it Lloyd. “You just need to not show that side of yourself in front of others.”
“Look at that. “The leader also says that.”
“This little thing is real.”
Adjutant Lloyd eventually shook his head and raised a white flag.
The Nightcrawler Knights was a place where only elites gathered as expected from an order that protected the center of the empire but it was also a place where seniors and juniors could talk comfortably.
It was all because the knight commander Terry herself liked that kind of atmosphere.

However the discipline itself is not lax.
It was also a long-standing tradition of the Nightcrawler Knights to do what needed to be done more reliably than anyone else.
Above all the fact that the discipline of the Nightcrawler Knights has not collapsed is proof that the control and charisma of the current leader Terryna Ryan Howl is that great.
“Don’t forget. “For what purpose did we come here?”
“yes.”
“yes.”
This incident was not an ordinary incident but was evaluated as a serious matter that required even the Security Bureau to take action.
In particular regarding the connection between cryptids and black magic it was not usually serious as the knight commander Terina herself came forward.
“It is still just a rumor but the dead Bellbott was a man who had been showing suspicious movements in the past and was listed on the list of people our security department should keep a close eye on. “The fact that he was suddenly killed by a monster cannot be considered a mere coincidence.”
Lloyd and Enya nodded at Terina’s words.
The three immediately began exploring Rickson’s room.
There were broken windows that looked like an intruder had come in and black marks that could be traces of a burned to death monster.
And even the blood believed to be Bellbott’s scattered around.
According to eyewitness accounts a monster appeared and Rickson was killed.
Considering that all of their statements are identical and consistent I don’t think they are lying.
I searched for any clues for over 10 minutes but there was no sign of anything.
Still Lloyd was about to say something thinking he had searched everything he needed to find.
It was then that Terina who had been deep in thought with her arms crossed suddenly walked towards a wall.
“Captain?”
“Here you go.”
What Terina was staring at was the pictures hanging on the wall.
As one of the richest men in Lederbelk Bellbot decorated his spacious room with all kinds of gorgeous artwork.
Terina approached the wall touched the frame of the picture and then lifted the mural in the corner and put it aside.
“Captain? “Why that picture?”
“There is space in the back.”
Before I could ask if that was true Terina’s fingertips wearing pure white gloves touched the center of the wall.
Then the wall opened as if it was being pushed to the side with a creaking sound.
A secret space measuring only 1m x 1m.
It wasn’t too big for someone to fit in.
“What on earth is this?”
Enya asked staring into empty space with curious eyes.
Terina with her arms crossed spoke in a grumpy voice.
“Judging by its size and location it was probably a place where a secret safe was hidden.”
“Secret safe?”
“Because Bellboat Rickson was a mega-rich and notoriously unscrupulous businessman. “There must have been tax evasion or black money that escaped the attention of the empire.”
“Is this safe where you keep it?”
“But there is no safe.”

Lloyd who realized something opened his mouth with a heavy face.
“It looks like someone took it.”
“okay.”
“So who took it? The residents of the mansion? “Shall we first interrogate the most suspicious butler?”
Terina shook her head at Enya’s words which were already full of motivation.
“no. It would be meaningless. “The butler has nothing to do with this.”
“yes?”
“There is no way a person like Bellbott would have disclosed his slush funds to someone else. “He probably hid it completely so that only he would know.”
“But this place is empty.”
“Just because you didn’t tell them doesn’t mean everyone doesn’t know.”
Didn’t Terryna also discover this secret space right away?
“Entrepreneurs and wealthy merchants all have similar thoughts. I’m not very happy about opening an account at the bank. You always want to have some cash or gold coins within your reach that you can use right away. “That way I feel at ease.”
“Then who took it?”
“I have to find out now. “It’s just a guess but the person who stole the safe may have something to do with Rickson’s death.”
“But you said Bellbot Rickson was eaten by a werewolf.”
“I wonder if it’s a werewolf. Look at the traces that still remain. The floor of nearly half of this large room was burned. Because it was burned with magic it did not spread into a fire. “They say it was burned only with a precise range of flames but it is still that big.”
“That means….”
“No matter how big a cryptid werewolf is its height is only 3 meters. “It’s very big but even if you burn it to death it won’t leave a trace that big.”
And it is said that people who actually witnessed a werewolf initially mistook him for a ‘monster’.
It may have been dark and scary so people may have misunderstood something.
If you look at the traces that wasn’t it.
“The bottom line is that someone was involved in Bellbott Rickson’s death. unnatural death. The appearance of a monster. Even the bad rumors about Bellboat. “There’s a lot left to check.”
What bothered Terina more than anything was the skill of the unidentified intruder who took the safe that was supposed to be inside without leaving any trace.
I turned on my eyes and tried to find traces but the other person didn’t leave any evidence as if he were a professional at this kind of thing.
As if the safe never existed in the first place.
‘It can’t be. There was definitely a safe here. ‘And that was until last night.’
The proof is that there is no dust on the floor yet.
No matter how closed the space is air and dust will still pass through.
So then who took it?
This feeling of trying to catch a blurry mirage with your hands is somehow familiar.
‘It’s so familiar that I feel a sense of déjà vu.’
Terry and Ryan Howl suddenly had no choice but to bring up a memory from the past.
A few years ago.
There was a thief who set the continent on fire.
He was so mysterious that no one could see his real face as he was blurry as if he was wrapped in the darkness of the night and his movements were so mysterious.
He is the one who has made many rich people cry and become angry by easily breaking through any tight security and taking away their valuables without leaving a trace.
Phantom thief <Arsene Lupine>.
‘No way that phantom thief… no no. It’s been a few years since you stopped being active but now you’re back on the move?’
But the method still bothered me.
Even if it wasn’t him he couldn’t deny the possibility that it was an acquaintance an accomplice or a student.
“Lloyd.”
“Yes Captain.”
“Was there anything else unusual that happened in Lederbelk?”
“Uh um. “There was one.”
“what?”
“It is said that one of the factories in the abandoned factory area was destroyed by fire. “And that was on the same day that Bellbott died.”
“There you go.”
How could there be a fire in an abandoned factory?
Even the location is remote and out of sight of people.
“egg plant.”
* * *
The werewolf crisis which had caused a stir in Seorn and Lederbelk ended with the death of an evil rich man.
For your information I was currently lying ill in my room.
‘Okay. If I had known it would be like this I would have prepared a little more. ‘I’m glad I didn’t have class today otherwise I would have been in big trouble.’
More than my aching body my pounding head and creeping migraines are the most painful.
As I lay down on the bed I took out three pills and put them in my mouth.
Jeokjeokjeok.
Others may think it is a headache medicine or painkiller but it is literally a chewable mana potion that replenishes magical power.
Normally when it comes to recovering magic power it is mainly done automatically over time or by drinking it as a potion.
However now that pharmaceutical science has developed.
It is now possible to grind magic power recovery medicine into powder and mix it with water and drink it or like me mix it with starch and make it into pills.
Because powders and pills are easier to store and carry than carrying around a bunch of potions.
In other words the pill itself that restores magical power is not very surprising.
Now even if it is the same drug the only difference is how much better the effect is.
Therefore what is important in pharmaceutical science is the efficiency of how well it works compared to the ingredients used.
effect
risk
And efficiency.
By combining these three factors the drug is graded from level 1 which is the best to level 10 which is the lowest.
The pill I am currently taking is my original recovery medicine that I created myself.
A product that maximizes effectiveness at the cost of slightly higher risk due to my current ‘constitution’.
Because it’s my specialty I’m not assigned to do clinical work so there’s no grade attached.
I think this would probably be a fairly high rating. And now I’m chewing it instead of rice.
‘The problem was that I used too much force. Who would have known that he was a warlock who always changed his body in that way even though he always won the game quickly and decisively.’
Bug brothers.
Among them because of my older brother Veron I had no choice but to use my own ‘real magic’ rather than the magic of this world.
Magic that is neither a magic trick nor knowledge from this world but rather occult and mythical knowledge from the world I originally lived in.
The problem is that the aftereffects are no joke.
The fact that I regularly take medicine that replenishes my magical power was something I experienced because I learned this magic.
[━━━━━]
voice.
The sound that continued to torment me slowly fades and eventually disappears.
This voice can only be suppressed using magical power so I ended up consuming magical power just by breathing.
As a result the lack of horsepower must be replenished periodically.
‘It’s a little better.’
As the headache went away another thought occurred to me.
This werewolf situation could be put an end to once I stepped in.
Since everything was burned without a trace you won’t be able to find any evidence of the test subject from the werewolf.
If there is a problem it must be a witness who was at the scene at the time.
‘Aidan.’
The first year student who stopped me from trying to kill a werewolf.
A favorable impression with brown hair that doesn’t stand out that much.
But the greatest thing about him is his personality.
Such actions as risking one’s life to protect one’s friends or taking action even when one might be in danger were rare even in Seorn.
okay.
If I had to put it into words he was like the protagonist of a boy’s cartoon-style game or novel.
I remembered all of the students who took my classes and the Aidan in my memories was a model student who focused on my classes with a brighter gaze than anyone else.
Unlike others who learn magic as if they are being chased he is a hard worker who entered Seorn purely because he likes magic.
That guy ended up witnessing the secret of werewolves.
If this were a game it would probably be [Act 1. Wouldn’t the title ‘The Werewolf of Seorn’ immediately come to mind?
‘I might be suspected of killing a werewolf there by force.’
The good news is that Leo and Taycee Freeard who were with him didn’t notice.
If Aidan told me the story would be different.
How on earth can a first-year student get caught up in an incident like this and approach the truth?
It wasn’t my intention but things got twisted and ended up like this.
I placed my hand on my forehead and swept my bangs back.
If this happens.
There was one method that came to mind.
‘Should I kill him?’
