    ◈ Episode 27 Werewolf (2)

After that I went on patrol captured nearly 20 students gave them demerit points and forced them back to their dormitories.

Why are these bastards still running around even though it’s night?

Even though the first-year students are immature because they are freshmen it gave me a headache to see the second-year students also joining in.

‘I guess that means everyone is interested in this werewolf incident.’

The sun has already set and there is darkness all around.

Although internal security guards were walking around and other teachers were patrolling there were still quite a few students hiding inside this Seoren premises.

‘Even if they are students they can use magic so ordinary users won’t be able to find them hiding.’

That must have further fueled their sense of adventure.

To be honest I was planning on just ignoring them and passing by but every time I pass by they catch my eye one by one so I have to be able to leave them alone because they are annoying.

I can clearly see that those who ignored it for no reason will become even more crazy when they become proud that the teacher didn’t catch them.

    I can’t stand that.

    ‘There are a lot.’

Most of the students were obsessed with the arrogance of trying to capture the werewolf themselves.

If you get caught on campus you will get a penalty point so I wondered why they would do that and it turned out that an official letter had come from the city of Lederbelk.

Did you say that if you kill or capture a werewolf the city itself will give you a reward?

It’s quite possible for students to roll their eyes.

‘Along with the mentality of wanting to become a hero if you catch him you’ll be paid money and your reputation will increase so there’s no one who wouldn’t be attracted to that.’

Even for commoners who are short on money the prize money for defeating a werewolf would be very attractive.

In the case of commoners there is a system within Seorn that supports scholarships but it does not provide all magic textbooks or other supplies.

There are many ways for wizards to make money.

It’s the same as a student.

If you become a hero in this incident you might get a sponsor who will take notice of your abilities so everyone’s eyes will roll.

It seems like some boys do this because they can’t overcome their youthful energy just to get the attention of the opposite sex.

‘But it looks like they’ve almost all been sent back so I’ll have to start tracking them again.’

It took a lot of time.

Moreover I realized that the situation was more serious than I thought.

I had no idea there would be this many students.

Other teachers will also feel that something is strange and move harder.

What if someone other than me finds the werewolf first?

And when you realize that it is not a regular cryptid but one created artificially in a laboratory.

The situation spreads like an uncontrollable forest fire.

‘So I’ll handle it before that.’

I headed to the sewage treatment plant the most likely route for werewolves to sneak into Seorn Academy.

Since Seorn has a large land area and uses a lot of water there is a huge sewage treatment facility on the outskirts of the land.

A place where a huge amount of water is drawn from the Lemzi River and at the same time a large amount of water is discharged through a huge earthen pipe.

Considering the size of the werewolf we encountered at that time there is a high probability that it came back through the earth pipe.

‘Fortunately it looks like no one has come here yet.’

Most teachers patrol and send students away or prepare for unexpected situations.

No one like me was wondering where the werewolf came from or how it moved or chasing its tracks.

Well that’s not the wizard’s way.

    This is the hunter’s way.

While wandering around the darkened sewage treatment plant I finally found a trace.

    ‘footprint.’

The clearly marked footprints on the bush looked like they had been made for several days.

Other people would naturally pass over it but I didn’t miss it.

I got closer and ran my hand over it and it was clear.

‘If you compare the size of the photo it is slightly smaller than the one I encountered at the time. It must be quite threatening.’

    But there was one problem.

There were two types of footprints.

They were all footprints believed to belong to werewolves.

Even the relatively larger one seemed to have grown recently.

Are these two really in Seorn?

‘I thought there was only one person but looking at the marks I guess the person who killed and ate people in Lederbelk came all the way here.’

I moved slowly and followed the traces of footprints.

The two footprints initially moved in the same direction but eventually diverged in two directions.

The smaller one is to the right and the larger one is to the left.

I really didn’t expect these guys to split up here.

Although the wolf is originally a solitary image it is actually a pack animal. Of course the same applies to werewolves who have deeply inherited that tendency.

Normally we would have had to stick together.

I don’t know why but these guys have now started moving separately.

I had to make a choice.

    ‘It’s a big deal. It’s late.’

Rine who had ash gray hair a rare sight even in Seorn was running through the grounds of Seorn with a magic textbook in her arms.

It was a little while ago that I forgot and fell asleep while studying in the library.

She removed the hair from her cheek and looked out the window. When she saw that the sun had set she rushed out of the library.

Even as she ran toward the dormitory Line couldn’t help but blame herself.

‘You idiot! You idiot! ‘Why did I fall asleep there?’

Over the past few days I’ve been spending less time sleeping and concentrating on homework and studying so fatigue has accumulated.

Seorun was already in a state of disarray right now so the teachers threatened him not to do anything else after class and to go straight back to the dormitory.

The root of the problem was that I opened a book in the library with a carefree thought that I should study a little more but ended up dozing off.

Controlling one’s physical condition is also a student’s duty.

Just because she dozed off doesn’t mean it wasn’t her fault.

If the teacher caught you like this there would be no excuse even if you received a penalty point.

‘Ah. Still it hurts a bit to get penalty points.’

She was short on money and had to survive on scholarships in Seorne. However Seorn reduces the amount of scholarship support if the student has demerit points.

When the penalty points were severe there were cases where the scholarship application itself was rejected.

Although she wouldn’t be penalized that severely for this incident the fact that she was getting demerit points felt like a burden to her.

‘But wouldn’t it be okay to return to the dormitory as quickly as possible before we get caught?’

I had to avoid the eyes of the dormitory housemaster but in the case of the housemaster who was not a teacher I was confident that I would somehow not be caught.

Line continued to walk nervously and walked quickly along the streetlight-lit path.

It was a situation where I thought the penalty points were already certain. I had a glimmer of hope that I might not get caught but I didn’t want to move and hide myself in the dark.

‘Even so it was too much. ‘How can I not wake anyone up?’

After thinking about that Rine sighed deeply.

Normally it was a basic requirement for students attending the academy to make friends and become close to each other but unfortunately from the beginning of the semester they had a fight with a nobleman and were swept up in the commotion.

Because Dunema Romli was disciplined Liné became an arrogant commoner who insulted nobles to the noble students.

Other commoner students were treated as if they were stamped by nobles and should not go near them.

Still there were a few male students who asked me if I was okay the very next day after the incident.

There were only guys who were attracted to her appearance and approached her with a good excuse.

Line didn’t feel like she wanted to become friends with those people.

‘The librarian was also away. ‘You didn’t even intend to wake me in the first place.’

Perhaps the librarian at the library was also someone who stood on the side of the nobles.

    You’re already being hated.

Feeling sad for no reason at her situation Rine bit her lip.

I was just at the moment when I was telling myself to go back take a shower and organize what I learned in class today.

    ──Rustling.

    “Who is there?”

Liné stopped walking without realizing it and trembled.

It was definitely not a mistake to see that the grass beyond the darkness where the trees were planted had moved significantly.

“Oh come out quickly. “Otherwise I’ll call someone.”

Line had also heard about the rumors about werewolves that had been going around recently.

To dismiss it as a rumor weren’t there actually two people who were injured?

Do you think that maybe the rumored werewolf really exists?

A cold fear ran down my spine.

    Are you really a werewolf?

Liné moved her trembling feet and took a step back.

At that moment a rustling sound came quickly towards her in the darkness.

And something suddenly popped out from inside the bush.

Liné closed her eyes tightly and shouted.

“Hiyaaaaa! Please save me! It doesn’t taste good at all! “Even if you eat something like that you’ll just get an upset stomach!”

However the long-awaited howl of the wolf was not heard.

    There was also no pain.

Liné glanced open her tightly closed eyes.

The first thing you see is blonde hair that shines brightly even in the dark illuminated by the streetlights.

There are leaves here and there but its nobility has not faded at all.

She has both hands on her hips and is staring at us with a strange gaze. She is one grade higher than Line.

She was the princess of this country.

“I am indeed. What do you mean they eat you? “Isn’t that too rude for a first meeting?”

    “Huh?”

Line immediately recognized who the person in front of her was.

No there’s no way you wouldn’t recognize that iconic person in the first place.

    “Princess Hwa?”

    Third Princess Erendir von Exilion.

Liné immediately bowed her head as she had seen her in Ludger’s classroom before.

When he saw the princess he was shocked and shouted at her not to kill her and eat her so it wasn’t surprising to hear people call her disrespectful.

However when Line tried to bow her head Princess Erendir stopped her.

“no. It’s okay it’s okay. “With something like that.”

    “Ha but…”

“It’s my fault for surprising you in the first place. And this is Seorn. Did you forget? In Seorn everyone is equal. “It’s the same for you and me.”

At Erendir’s confident words Linne opened her mouth and said ‘he’ without realizing it.

I had no idea that I would hear Seorn’s ideology from the princess herself.

Either way Erendir is just focused on shaking the leaves off his body with his hands.

“Oh the princess why are you here…?”

“I told you not to call me princess. Are you a first year student? “Then you can just call me Erendir-senpai normally.”

    “My me?”

“Because I’m more comfortable that way. In the first place I have no intention of doing anything arbitrarily with my position in Seorn. “Did you say our junior’s name is Rine?”

    “uh? “Do you know me?”

“We take a manifestation class together. “I have a good memory.”

    “That’s amazing.”

“Well actually that class must be so unique. It remains so strongly in my memory that most students who take that class remember it. And you stand out quite a bit too.”

ah. Are you talking about hair color? Liné smiled awkwardly.

As I lived I never thought I would receive the princess’s attention because of my hair color.

“So why is our junior Lee’s junior wandering around here so late at night? “Didn’t the teachers warn you?”

    “That’s it…”

Despite her embarrassment Line answered honestly why she was moving alone so late at night.

After hearing everything Erendir opened his eyes wide.

“What? No one woke you up? “Isn’t this really too much?”

“no. “But in the end it was my fault for dozing off.”

“no! I can’t leave this behind. You can’t believe you’re doing such a stupid thing. “Say something to the librarian right away…”

“More than that! “What were you doing here Senpai?”

Rine hurriedly changed the subject thinking that things couldn’t go on like this.

“Oh you mean me? I am currently in charge of finding and returning students who have not yet returned to their dormitories. “Everyone must be so noisy now.”

    “Uh… Isn’t your senior a student too?”

“You don’t have to worry. “I am moving after receiving permission.”

    “Oh I see.”

“Anyway let’s go back. “Oh if you keep going like this there will be another teacher so if you go back this way you won’t be caught.”

    “Oh yes! thank you!”

It was that moment when Line bowed her head and was about to leave.

    Crumble.

A strange sound came to the ears of both Linne and Erendir.

If I wasn’t mistaken it was definitely a sound made by an animal.

    “…Rine. “Stay back.”

Erendir glared into the darkness and pulled out his staff.

Two red eyes appeared in the darkness. It eventually slowly approached the two people.

The werewolf’s appearance was revealed in the light of the street lamp.

“…I never thought the existence of werewolves was real.”

    “The rumor wasn’t fake?”

“Why are you so surprised? “You were surprised when you first saw me.”

“Everyone is surprised when it suddenly pops out of the dark!”

“Anyway this is a big deal.”

The werewolf in front of me didn’t look weak or anything at all.

The intent in the eyes staring at us was clear.

Both Ryne and Erendir were afraid although they were pretending not to be.

Still as a student of Seorn I can’t suffer without doing anything…

    “──Get out of the way.”

At that moment an intense fire erupted in the air.

High-temperature flames engulfed the werewolf and burned its entire hide.

    Kaaaaeang!

The werewolf screamed and rolled around on the floor.

Perhaps because of the animal’s instinct to avoid fire it escaped a direct hit and did not die but parts of its flesh and skin burned and melted making it impossible to avoid the blow.

The wound was healing quickly but I had enough time.

The two people’s eyes turned to where the magic came from.

    The man was standing there.

Rine shouted the name without realizing it.

    “Mr Ludger!”

    Ludger Chelsea.

A black suit and black frock coat is still a neat and sophisticated outfit.

Ludgar’s icy gaze moved away from the werewolf and towards Ryne and Erendir.

Ludger opened his mouth to the two people who were momentarily overwhelmed by that spirit.

    “Rine. And Erendir von Exilion.”

    “yes!”

    “Yes sir.”

The two people felt fortunate that Ludger had come to their rescue and waited for his next words.

    “It’s 5 penalty points.”
