◈ Episode 257 Dean Gord (2)
“…What does that mean all of a sudden?”
Gord asked again as if he didn’t understand Ludger’s question.
“Have I ever done something wrong to you?”
“Is that possible? The Dean has been good to me. “Yes that’s enough.”
“But why ask such a question….”
“What I’m asking is not why you did that to me.”
Ludger’s eyes behind the mask stared intently at Commissioner Gord.
The moment Gord met those red eyes he felt an indescribable chill.
“I’m not sure what you’re talking about.”
“Then I guess I should be more precise.”
Ludger got up from the sofa and slowly walked towards Gord.
“Dean.”
“Well something. “Don’t come closer.”
“Why did you support the research on the Steel Choir project?”
Gord widened his eyes.
The reaction was as if they were asking how they knew that.
“Didn’t I tell you? “I went there myself and checked.”
“That can’t be…”
“Dean. I answered the question. “I asked the question now it’s your turn to answer.”
Ludger standing in front of Dean Gord looked down at him.
“Please speak. “Why did you do that?”
“I don’t know what… keaaaaaa!”
Gord tried to get away but screamed from the intense pain he felt in the back of his hand.
Before he knew it a dagger was stuck in the back of his hand.
“Keueuuuuu. “My my hand…!”

“Dean. “This is a game.”
Ludger whispered softly to the dean who was writhing in pain.
“It’s a game of telling the truth to each other. Ask questions and tell the truth. The Dean asked a question and I told the truth. Then shouldn’t the Dean also tell the truth?”
“Keuuuuuuu!”
“But reporting lies is a clear violation of the rules.”
“What do you want to hear from me!”
At Dean Gord’s shout Ludger immediately pulled out the dagger stuck on the back of his hand.
Blood splattered and Dean Gord’s screams echoed through the dean’s office again.
“What I want to hear is for the Dean to tell me everything related to this incident.”
“Do you think I’m going to say that?”
“Dean. The question is over. “I gave you the second answer by giving the answer a little while ago.”
“what?”
Gord widened his eyes in disbelief.
A little while ago the question was ‘What do you want to hear?’ and Ludger answered it.
“That’s ridiculous…!”
“The Dean asked a question so now it’s my turn.”
“You crazy guy!”
“Dean Gord. “What are the names of the people involved in this?”
Gord’s face was distorted miserably.
“I don’t know! “I don’t know!”
“If you do this you will be in trouble. “Did you think it would be possible to keep quiet after selling out people for your desire to go beyond the position of dean and enter politics?”
“…!”
Gord’s shoulders trembled greatly as the desire he had kept in his heart without being noticed by anyone flowed out of Ludger’s mouth.
But what surprised Gord even more than that was that Ludger already knew everything about him and came to see him.
Nevertheless you said you would play a game of giving and receiving questions and answers.
“I am…!”
“Since the Dean still shows hesitation I will offer help as someone who has been blessed.”
“What are you trying to do!”
“It’s no big deal.”
Ludger held out the dagger that had stabbed the back of his hand a moment ago.
Red blood was dripping from the dagger which was shining sharply in the light in the room.
“I’m trying to give the dean a boost so that he can gain courage.”
“You’re going to torture me?!”
“Do you not like it? If so you can answer now. Who did it? “Who is behind it?”
“I am…!”
Dean Gord shook his head with a pale face.
“I can’t speak. “I can’t speak!”

“Is that so?”
Ludger said while looking at Gord.
“Thank goodness.”
Immediately after that screams filled the dean’s office.
* * *
Quang!
“James Moriarty!”
The door to the dean’s office opened roughly and Casey Selmore came in.
“You’re here as expected! “Get away from him!”
“Casey Selmore.”
Ludger took a step back looking back at Casey Selmore.
It was only then that Casey Selmore was able to see the devastation hidden from Ludger.
“you…!”
Dean Gord Himbel was covered in blood and gasping for breath.
After being tortured so severely he was barely breathing and was practically a corpse.
Casey gritted his teeth at the sight of Dean Gord covered in blood.
“How on earth! “How could you do this to the person who recommended you as a professor!”
“ah.”
From Casey’s words Ludger could understand why she was angry.
“I see. “It could be seen that way.”
“what?”
“no. “It’s nothing.”
“Whatever you do get away from him!”
Casey Selmore warned Ludger but he was not allowed to use magic carelessly.
It would not have been possible to harm Ludger with half-baked magic but if powerful magic had been used Gord who had been taken hostage could have been swept away.
Ludger who noticed that Casey was at a loss asked with red eyes under his mask.
“Is it difficult to move because of the hostages? “Then I will help you.”
“…for a moment!”
Casey tried to stop him but it was already too late.
Ludger’s hand moved and the sharp dagger flew straight into Dean Gord’s forehead.
dump.
When Casey saw Dean Gord who was barely alive dying his face contorted and he shouted.
“James Moriarty!!!”
A huge splash of water rose up and filled the entire dean’s office.
Quaaaang!
Ludger threw himself out the window and immediately afterward a huge water cannon passed by where he was.
Broken windows and debris from the wall fell but Ludger extended his left arm instead.
The wire launcher mounted on his left arm fired and caught on the high spire of the university pulling his body up into the sky.
Casey standing by the broken window spotted Ludger standing on the roof of the building and glared at him with a gaze full of hostility.
“how! “How could you do this?”
Ludger looked at Casey and opened his mouth.
“I think I’ve already answered that question well enough. Casey Selmore. “Your senses are quite sharp but you’re late again.”
“you. “What on earth are you planning on doing?”
“That’s an interesting question. “Like a detective I’ll try to guess.”
Casey Selmore stirred up his magic as if he had no intention of listening anymore.
Moisture in the air condensed under her feet and even a fountain sprang up.
“James Moriarty!”
Casey Selmore riding the stream rushed towards Ludger.
Ludger looked at that and turned his back.
“Stand there!”
Casey fired several water spears but Ludger showed great movement and dodged them all.
Casey Selmore landed on the rooftop where Ludger was and immediately tried to chase him.
“doesn’t exist?”
But Ludger was nowhere to be seen.
Whether he rose into the sky or fell to the ground his traces seemed to have been completely cut off.
‘How on earth?’
Ludger’s figure was lost from sight only for a moment as he landed on the ground.
Meanwhile Ludger disappeared.
Casey was puzzled that there were no signs of anything.
[Casey Selmore. I recommend that you not pursue me any longer.]
Casey shook off his anger at the sound of Ludger’s voice at that moment and curled the corners of his mouth.
“under. You provoked me and now you want me to stop? “Do you think I will?”
[Are you bluffing? I admire that spirit.]
“How can you say something like that even if you get caught by me?”
[Isn’t life a waste?]
When asked about this Casey answered without hesitation.
“If my life was a waste I wouldn’t have done something like this.”
[Then try hard to chase after me. This is a game.]
Casey frowned at the word game.
“what?”
[You chase me and I run away from you. Of course in the meantime I plan to finish the events that have unfolded beyond this city and throughout the kingdom.]
“…Do you think I’ll let that happen?”
[The beauty of the game is not knowing who will win. But I think I’ll have an advantage if it continues like this so I’ll give you a hint.]
“Anyone wants!”
[I will next move to the big city of D’Artance. If you want to catch me come there.]
Casey asked in a tone full of suspicion at the blatant words.
“Why should I believe what they say? “But I don’t know if they will run away somewhere else.”
[If you’re scared you don’t have to come. It will be your choice that you will later regret only after someone dies there.]
Casey clenched his fists at Ludger’s words which blatantly touched our pride.
A provocation is a provocation but I didn’t like his behavior talking about people dying as a game.
As a detective.
No beyond that as a person.
It was absolutely unacceptable.
“okay. I’ll go. “Wash your neck there and wait.”
[I look forward to it.]
The voice that seemed to be mocking yet satisfied disappeared like an echo.

After finishing dealing with Dean Gord Ludger immediately joined Hans and headed to the big city of D’Artans.
D’Artense one of the largest cities in the steel kingdom of Delica was the heart of the kingdom and was home to the largest number of factories.
Ludger’s target was one of those factories.
“A new experiment?”
Hans asked on the train heading to D’Artense.
The disguised Ludger nodded.
“Hans. The Steel Choir project was definitely a risky experiment. That’s enough to change the outcome of the battlefield. But doesn’t something seem strange?”
“What do you mean?”
“Do you think that alone is enough for a country to prepare for war without worrying about what its neighbors think?”
Hans’ expression hardened at Ludger’s words.
“I guess there’s more.”
“The Choir of Steel is a project to extract knight-level power indefinitely as resources allow.”
The problem arises here.
What if the special automaton created by the Iron Choir project replaces the knight?
How do you replace a wizard who still has half of the world’s power?
“Are you making an automaton that uses magic?”
“no. They do not replace wizards.”
“Then what do you plan to do?”
“Hans. “Why do you think wizards still exert great power in modern warfare?”
“Isn’t that [Silence of Fire]? “It suppresses the action of gunpowder making guns impossible to fire and bombs useless.”
Ludger nodded.
“okay. No matter how much you modify and strengthen the automaton such wizards can never be replaced. So those working on the project changed their direction of thinking.”
“You changed direction?”
“If you can’t create wizards you’re making their magic useless.”
“Hmm.”
Hans still looked like he didn’t understand.
“You make magic useless. Are you saying it makes magic itself unusable? “There’s no way something like that would be possible in the first place.”
“okay. There’s no way it’s possible. A magic that removes magic. “That kind of thing…”
Ludger paused for a moment before speaking.
“older brother?”
“…It’s not non-existent but only special people can use it. “Of course it’s not something that can be used generally.”
“Then how can wizards become useless?”
“Didn’t you say that a little while ago?”
“What am I? “Are you sure you were talking about [Silence of Fire] earlier?”
“okay.”
Ludger watched the scenery passing by outside the window of the train.
From afar I could see factory chimneys and a city full of black smoke.
It was a big city d’artance.
“Hans. “What do you think would happen if you could fire a gun in a situation where the [Silence of Fire] used by a wizard does not neutralize the gunpowder?”
“Oh that’s…”
Hans thought about it before coming up with an answer.
“It must be dangerous right? Of course a wizard won’t die easily because of something like that.”
“okay. All you have to do is use defensive magic. But… at least gunpowder weapons demonstrate their power.”
“Could it be… that the kingdom has created such a dangerous thing?”
Hans asked wondering if that was the case but he prayed that it wasn’t like that.
But unfortunately Ludger betrayed Hans’ expectations.
“They made a special gunpowder. Gunpowder that is unaffected by the silence of fire.”
Hans swallowed.
“That would definitely be dangerous. But how on earth did you make that?”
“I don’t know that.”
The magician’s greatest strength in modern warfare is none other than [Silence of Fire].
With this alone weapons that handle gunpowder are still powerless.
That was why knights who dodged bullets and wizards who could disable weapons themselves still occupied high positions.
But knights are replaced by weapons of steel.
What if the wizards’ advantage over gunpowder weapons disappears?
What will happen then?
Terrible chaos.
The embers of war will spread quickly and engulf the entire continent.
“There is a secret factory manufacturing that gunpowder somewhere in that city.”
“…I’m going to spin.”
“So Hans.”
“Yes yes?”
“Find it. The deadline is one day.”
“….”
