◈ Episode 244 Rhapsody on a Rainy Day (3)
Ludger immediately returned to the hideout.
Ludger lightly shook off the rainwater from his umbrella and went up to the second floor where his teacher was waiting.
It’s been a while since I solved the problem and I was thinking of asking for advice on the sealing technique.
‘But there’s something about the atmosphere…’
Unlike usual the atmosphere in the hideout was heavy.
Only after arriving at the office on the second floor did Ludger understand why.
“Are you here?”
Grander was sitting down on the sofa.
He had an attitude that made him look comfortable as if it were his own living room.
But the other people I was with didn’t.
“Brother tongue.”
Hans called Ludger in a trembling voice while Alex and Pantos on the other hand remained tense and did not take their eyes off Grander.
The two felt it instinctively.
Contrary to his soft appearance Grander is just how dangerous he is.
Even now their skin was covered in rashes to the point where it could be mistaken for hives.
Ludger sighed at the uncomfortable air that filled the room.
“Master. “What are you doing now?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re joking too much.”
As Ludger reprimanded Grander pouted his lips.
“Some arrogant student left his heavenly teacher and went somewhere else. “I was bored waiting alone so I played around for a while.”
The tension in the room was nothing more than a prank on her part.
Just a simple measure to figure out the level of Ludger’s subordinates before he arrives.
However for the person suffering the atmosphere must have been so heavy that it was difficult to even breathe.
Especially for people with keen senses like Pantos Alex and Hans who had the senses of animals the time until Ludger arrived felt too long.

“Master. Let’s just stop there. “Isn’t everyone having a hard time?”
“Ugh. okay. I got it I got it. “Your subordinates are more important than this teacher right?”
Grander gathered momentum by deliberately speaking as if Ludger should listen.
Alex who had finally relaxed wiped off his cold sweat and Pantos was sobbing.
“The author is the teacher the leader spoke of….”
“There was no end to force in sight.”
Ludger spoke to his subordinates.
“Let everyone go out. “I need to have a separate conversation with Master.”
In fact it was a word that was close to an order to banish guests but no one refused the order.
After confirming that all the members had gone out Ludger closed the door and sat down on the sofa across from Grander.
“That’s amazing disciple. “Where did you get all these guys from?”
Grander expressed his honest feelings as he recalled Ludger’s men outside.
“As I was wandering the world I met him by chance.”
“haha. “You are too humble.”
‘It’s true.’
Of course it is true that Ludger recognized their talent and suggested that they join together.
I can definitely say that I have never searched for it on purpose.
“For a human that brown-skinned man was quite skilled in swordsmanship. And that huge beastman was quite an interesting guy. “He looks nervous but his fighting spirit is burning even after seeing me.”
“I see.”
When Pantos said that it was completely understandable.
When I first met Ludger Pantos came to visit while my teacher Grander was away.
‘If Pantos had faced Master at that time.’
It occurred to me that maybe Pantos wasn’t here.
Pantos himself probably knew that he would not be a match for Grander.
Still he would have taken the challenge.
Because that was the reason Pantos lived.
“And the most interesting thing of all was the sad-looking man who rolled his eyes the most intently.”
“You mean Hans?”
“okay. He was truly an amazing guy. A being that is human yet an animal and yet is not an animal. “There is something so amazing sleeping inside of him that even I am amazed.”
Grander saw Hans’ characteristics right away.
His characteristics.
his constitution.
It didn’t just stop there he also recognized the existence of the monster of Gévaudan sleeping inside Hans.
“Where did you pick up a guy like that again? “Did you happen to be in a box on a rainy day?”
“…You’re talking as if you picked up an abandoned puppy on the street.”
“Is it a puppy? If I were to be specific they are similar types. “It’s not bad to use as a pet dog.”
Ludger was glad Hans wasn’t here right now.

If I hadn’t done that I would definitely have been hurt.
“Hans met Master in the Kingdom of Durman while he was sleeping.”
Ludger explained how he met Hans five years ago.
His unique constitution and even the Zevaudan monster he hunted in the Kingdom of Durman.
“Is this the monster of Jevodang? “Isn’t it a cryptid with a pretty grand name?”
“It was quite strong. “I was barely able to defeat it using real magic.”
“Well it must have been a very good quality dog.”
Anyone who had actually seen the monster of Gévaudan would have been upset the moment they heard Grander’s words.
A cryptid that ate a knight and plunged a city into despair is treated like nothing more than a dog.
Wasn’t it a monster that remained in history to the extent that even the partial remains were stored in a museum?
However anyone who knew Grander would have been rather surprised that she would say this.
To some it may just be a word of pleasure.
If Grander had said those words it would have been nothing short of a great compliment.
“So what are you trying to do by gathering these guys together?”
Grander asked Ludger his eyes curved like a crescent moon.
“There must be a good reason for leaving this Master’s embrace and wandering the world.”
“…I just realized what I had to do.”
“What to do?”
“yes. “It was something I vaguely thought about even before I met Master.”
“Can’t you tell Master what that is?”
“that….”
Ludger was about to say something but then closed his mouth.
He quickly shook his head.
“sorry.”
“…It’s amazing. “I never thought you were hiding something from me.”
“Are you angry?”
“I’m not angry.”
That’s what he said but looking at his expression it was clear that he was sulking.
Although she may not have said it herself Ludger who had been assisting her for a long time could tell.
“sorry. Master. I’ll tell you someday when I get the chance. However please understand that I will keep it a secret for now.”
“…a boring guy. If you’re so serious I won’t even ask. So if you’re going to bite all my subordinates you must have something else you want from me right?”
“yes. “I think I need to tweak the sealing technique a little bit.”
“Sealing technique?”
Ludger explained how he met the head of the Lumensis Church a little while ago.
And there is even talk that if things continue like this there may be more tracking from the Lumensis Church.
“indeed. Was the power flowing out enough for those guys to notice?”
“From what he was saying it seemed like he was aware of Master’s presence.”
Grander burst out laughing at those words.
Her pure white fangs stood out.
“Let those guys come as many times as they want. “I guess they still think they’re avoiding me because they’re scared.”
“If the teacher himself takes the initiative it will be difficult to finish it properly. “Please be considerate.”
“joy. They were people who had no interest anyway. So can we just make the sealing technique a little stronger?”
“yes. “I have thought about that for now.”
Ludger took out the research paper he had prepared and handed it to Grander.
Grander looked at it and widened his eyes.
“…You’ve already thought about it enough.”
“yes. However although there are no problems in theory there are some parts that are difficult to implement in practice so I wanted to seek advice from my teacher.”
“What advice? “You have already done everything yourself.”
Grander spoke grumblingly flapping around the materials Ludger handed him.
“Well I guess this will be over if I just invest a little time. “It’s not that difficult because we just need to reinforce what was already there anyway.”
“Then that’s a good thing.”
“But you’ll have to be careful. No matter how much you strengthen the sealing technique if you continue to use that power it will eventually reach its limit at some point.”
“I know that.”
“no. You don’t know. “If you reach your limit it won’t just be your problem.”
Grander’s red gaze looked piercingly at Ludger.
“Don’t forget the promise you made to me. From the day I pulled you out of that abyss. “The contract I made while teaching you until now.”
“yes. “I always hold it in my heart.”
“You always speak well.”
After putting away the documents Grander looked at Ludger with a subtle gaze as if something suddenly occurred to him.
“Rather he is a disciple.”
“Yes Master.”
“Among the magic you saw while fighting me today it was the anti-magic magic.”
When the story of the anti-drying man came up Ludger felt a strange sense of anxiety.
Ludger answered while trying to suppress his emotions.
“…yes. “Please speak.”
“No matter how you look at that magic it seems to be different from regular magic. It’s like a special magic created to deal with beings like me rather than general enemies. “Am I right?”
“….”
As Ludger remained silent Grander placed his index finger on his chin and grinned.
“I was wondering if our student had created such a spell in preparation for this teacher coming and causing trouble. “I guess it wasn’t the magic that was perfect for me.”
“….”
“Ahaha! No way! Our student dares to create magic separately to deal with his master? “There’s no way you would do something like that unless you were out of your mind!”
Cold sweat ran down Ludger’s back.
Grander said ‘No right? ‘Are you a disciple?’ He stared at Ludger with his gaze.
In the end Ludger had only one choice to make.
He hurriedly got up from his seat.
“Uh huh. Disciple. “Where are you going like that?”
“…I remembered something urgent for a moment.”
“Urgent? “What could be more urgent than having a conversation with a teacher I haven’t seen in a long time?”
“I will come back soon. “Then I’ll leave.”
“hey. “Aren’t you going to stand there?”
Ludger hurriedly ran away.
This time I thought that if I got caught I would really die.
* * *
The next morning Seorn’s academic affairs conference room.
Teachers who normally did not gather together gathered in the conference room for a long time.
This was because the president had called me for the first time in a long time since the werewolf attack incident.
The teachers sitting in their seats seemed curious as to why the president had called them.
“Selina. good morning.”
“ah. Ms. Merilda. hello.”
“Did you have a good time yesterday?”
When Merilda asked squinting one eye Selina blushed and hesitated to answer.
Merilda smiled softly at that and tapped Selina with her forearm.
“what? That reaction. Apparently something happened?”
“Then what about Miss Merilda? You left in a hurry yesterday. “Are you going back home right away?”
Selina felt embarrassed for no reason and changed the topic.
Rather Merilda who was asked a question answered as if she had been waiting.
“Oh my. “I wasn’t going to say this.”
“to? “What really happened?”
I just said it to change the topic but I never thought it was true.
“Hey Selina. I mean me. “I feel like I’ve met the person of destiny.”
“A fateful… person?”
As Selina looked at her curiously Merilda told her what had happened the previous day.
About meeting an exotic handsome man named Alex on Royal Street.
“In the end he gave me the wrong directions but he confessed honestly later. He said he wanted to be with me because I was so beautiful. Wow. “How good~.”
“uh….”
If it were a normal Selina she would have been happy and cheered her on but she couldn’t do that this time.
If you listen to the story no matter how much you look at it you can’t see anything that would make Merilda fall in love with it even if you wash your eyes.
Could it be because of those dirty words?
‘Oh no way.’
Teacher Merylda is famous for being an expert in dating so I wonder if she was deceived by such a trivial thing.
Selina trusted Merilda so she decided to assume that she had a good plan.
At that time the door to the conference room opened and Elisha the president came inside.
“How have you all been? “It’s been a long time since we gathered like this since the werewolf incident that day.”
Elisa started off with a quick greeting and glanced at the teachers who were looking at her with a puzzled look.
Most of the reactions were questionable but there were also hostile reactions mixed in most notably from Hugo and his faction.
Elisha got straight to the point.
“Everyone will be curious. “Why did I suddenly call everyone like this?”
“Did some accident happen again?”
Chris Benimore asked.
Some teachers looked anxious when they heard that it was an accident.
It was because many things had happened recently both internally and externally.
Elisha put an end to the audience’s anxiety by saying “It’s not like that so don’t worry.”
“I’ll get straight to the point. “I’m sure everyone knows that there are still vacant positions in Seorn recently.”
The conference room suddenly became quiet.
Unless you are a clueless person you realize that the president is not trying to tell an ordinary story.
“Among them there are seats that are still vacant even though they are needed in Seorn.”
“Planning Office….”
Hugo frowned at someone’s muttering.
“If the position remains vacant for too long it will ultimately cause disruption to Seorn’s work. So now that I have this opportunity I would like to recommend a suitable person.”
Murmur.
The teachers were agitated by Elisha’s words.
In particular the reaction of the aristocratic teachers including Hugo was the strongest and they seemed to not believe what the president said.
“Who do you recommend? “I understand that there are no suitable talents yet.”
Hugo asked in a sharp tone.
Hugo’s eyes toward the president were full of suspicion.
I wonder what the president is planning again this time.
Elisa smiled softly as she looked at Hugo.
“Why not? “There was a new person recently.”
“yes? “What is that now…”
“Please come in.”
At that moment the door to the conference room opened and a person came inside.
Everyone fell silent.
Step by step. Step by step.
The sound of shoes hitting the floor echoed loudly throughout the conference room.
The teachers’ eyes naturally turned to one person.
A sculptural handsome man dressed much more neatly than usual.
Anyone with discerning eyes will be able to tell that the clothes he is wearing are from the House of Verdi.
His gait was more disciplined and upright than that of a soldier.
Every time he walked his long black hair tied back fluttered slightly.
Soon the man standing next to Elisa Willow turned to the audience.
“nice to meet you.”
Hugo widened his eyes.
His widened eyes were filled with disbelief.
“Candidate for new Planning Director. “My name is Ludger Chelisi.”
