    ◈ Episode 223 Presentation (2)

Contrary to what the wizards had expected the first announcement was not Ludger.

Since it was not a presentation given for individuals several wizards were naturally expected to appear one after another.

However if there is a problem

It may be that this presentation was receiving much more intense attention than usual due to just one person.

    “Oh so that’s it….”

The wizard who was the first to stand on the podium stuttered unable to continue his speech properly due to the arrow-like gazes pouring in from all around him.

Even though we had prepared a lot the number of people was greater than expected.

The voice became quieter and the explanation became sluggish.

The more I did this the colder the gaze felt on my skin became.

The person concerned wanted to shout out that it was unfair with an honest feeling.

‘Why are so many people here at the time of my announcement!’

There are as many as 5000 seats available within the Arcane Chamber.

And on the day of the regular paper presentation it was fortunate that 1000 seats were filled let alone half of the seats.

On really low days there may barely be more than 500 people.

But today all 5000 seats were full so there were people standing here and there watching.

You might say that wouldn’t it be the best opportunity if you could show more people what you’ve achieved?

    Anyway this goes too far.

It’s not even just the numbers.

In addition to the Old Magic Tower and the New Magic Tower School Association even the 7th rank Grand Wizard who is said to be the best wizard of his time is at the scene.

Just being in the same space makes me feel sad but that person is actually watching my thesis presentation?

My hands and feet were shaking and I felt like my soul was shriveling.

The fear of the space itself was much greater than the feeling of improvement that things would get better.

There is a saying that it is better to be beaten first but wouldn’t the story be different if the beating was not a whip but an iron club with thorns?

In the end the wizard who took the podium as the first presenter had no choice but to come down without even being able to properly draw out half of what he had prepared.

The sight of him trudging away from his seat with his head down was pitiful.

However none of the magicians in the audience expressed sympathy for him.

There was no booing but their eyes were enough to represent him.

It is true that this situation is so sudden that it resembles a purely natural disaster but overcoming it also depends on the individual’s ability.

In the end those who failed to do so lacked skills and met a fitting end.

There is no need to feel pity for it.

    [Next person. Please come up.]

The first presenter left and the second presenter came up next.

Because he knew what the person before him had done he began his presentation with a firm determination that he would never end up like that.

    “This one isn’t bad.”

    “Still it’s not particularly special.”

    So one by one.

The presentations continued and sometimes there were those who succeeded in creating a sensation of their own but in the end that was all.

As time passed the final announcement was just around the corner.

A man appeared on the podium.

    ‘That person.’

    ‘Is today’s hero finally appearing?’

The atmosphere which had become relaxed due to the tedious process regained its enthusiasm in an instant.

The gaze was even stronger than when I first started.

That too was the gaze of over 5000 people.

No matter how courageous a person was he could not help but feel intimidated.

But that man Ludger Chelisi did not do that.

Rather his steps up to the podium were leisurely as if he had just gone for a walk.

Unwavering steps and straight gaze. And even precious things that naturally flow from the body.

This combined with the long black hair and sculptural appearance created an unbelievable harmony.

The distinguished guests seated at the head table let out quiet exclamations of admiration at his dignified attitude.

“Your prayers are definitely different from those who came before you.”

“I don’t think you’re intentionally pretending to be strong. “Is this a natural position?”

The audience’s reaction was also enthusiastic.

In particular the female magicians who came to the meeting with an interest in magic treatises seemed to think that Ludger’s appearance did not matter what the content of the presentation was.

‘Ugh. ‘Everyone is not making a fuss.’

Casey Selmore clicked his tongue at the sight.

Why do people who call themselves wizards do that when they are deceived by appearances?

‘Of course that person isn’t usually handsome but this isn’t it.’

I had no idea there would be this much of a reaction.

Casey was irritated for no reason and the other wizards seemed insignificant.

‘But isn’t that person even nervous?’

Just imagining that I am standing there watching from afar makes my hands sweaty.

    Ludger’s appearance was truly peaceful.

I know that there have been several occasions like this in the Delica Kingdom.

However the scale of the Arcane Chamber is so huge that it is impossible to compare it to then.

Standing on the river platform Ludger paused for a moment and looked around.

Since the podium was under the spotlight the people in the audience could only be seen as a blur because it was dark.

But he could clearly see that they were all watching him.

Ludger lifted his head and looked up at the head of the table.

Several seats floating in the air of a large hall.

The appearance of the people sitting there was clearly something out of the ordinary.

‘Those who are influential enough to be counted on the continent.’

I wonder if Leslie one of the First Order members is there.

Maybe he didn’t attend because he was busy preparing for action on the night of mystery.

Whatever it was there was only one purpose for him to come here today.

“nice to meet you. “My name is Ludger Chelisi and I am currently a teacher in Seorn.”

    Start with a simple greeting.

However he clearly established his position by stating his affiliation as Seorn.

A low speaking voice spread throughout the wide hall of the Arcane Chamber through the sound amplification magic installed on the podium.

People waited for his next words as his voice had a certain weight to it.

“Then let’s start the presentation right away.”

Contrary to what I expected I would open the conversation with the usual cliche “Thank you to all of you for coming here.”

Ludger got straight to the point.

What was rather perplexing at that sight were the magicians sitting in the audience.

A number of distinguished guests came to visit but his attitude of not bowing to them and only saying what he had to say was completely unusual.

To put it nicely it means not caring about pretentiousness or pretentiousness.

To put it worst it could be seen as being impolite.

However rather than being angry about his attitude the consensus was that it was natural.

Hasn’t there been a saying like this since ancient times?

Good-looking women have feelings no matter what they say or do.

“The reason I came here today as you all know in advance is to announce the results for increasing horsepower output.”

    Finally the main point comes.

At the same time Ludger showed the materials he had prepared.

The research results table prepared on the magic board on the podium came to mind.

The contents were greatly enlarged and reflected to the wizards.

“The people gathered here are also wizards so I think they have all measured their own magical energy output and know what this result means.”

The total experiment period was one week.

The data showed that the amount of horsepower released increased by as much as three times in a short period of one week.

“As a result of conducting research with six students the amount of horsepower released nearly tripled. This wasn’t just a short-term effect. By conducting additional tests over a total of three days we were able to see that the numbers did not change.”

The wizards became impatient as the successful outcome was deeply ingrained in their minds from the start.

    So what is the method?

How on earth did they increase emissions?

“And the key to successfully leading this research lies in the suppressor of magical power.”

    “I have a question.”

One of the wizards sitting at the head table opened his mouth.

It was Auguste one of the elders of the old magic tower.

    “yes. “Tell me.”

“This is my first time hearing about magic suppressors. Does such a thing really exist?”

It was a car that other wizards were also curious about.

A wizard should amplify his magic power but suppress it so what on earth can he use it for?

Of course similar drugs or tools exist.

A representative example is the magic handcuffs used to capture magic criminals.

However this is different from an inhibitor in that it forcibly cuts off the flow of magic power.

The same goes for the diffuse scent that interferes with magic activation.

Rather than suppressing magical power the diffused scent was closer to spreading it out more and interfering with the concentration of the spell.

In other words there was nothing to suppress the magical power itself at the moment.

    “yes. “It’s real.”

    “Did you make that yourself?”

“I didn’t make it myself. “It is a restoration of an ancient recipe that had been lost.”

    “An ancient recipe?”

“I was already going to explain. Please look here.”

New material emerged on the magic board.

Unlike the previous material which seemed easy to understand at a glance this one made me want to know something the moment I saw it for the first time.

To wizards who were not familiar with ancient languages it was just a twisted language that was difficult to read but those who had some knowledge in this field did not seem to believe what they were seeing.

    “That’s Larsil language.”

“Larsil language? Could it be that there was something related to magic suppressors written there?”

“How on earth could that person have succeeded in interpreting something that hasn’t been interpreted yet?”

    Wizards buzzing.

The Arcane Chamber instantly filled with embarrassment.

It was around this time that even wizards who didn’t know about Larsil language realized that the situation was going out of the ordinary.

Grand Wizard Clinton sitting at the floating head of the table opened his mouth.

“Mr Ludger Chelisi. “Can I ask you a question?”

A statement from the highest-ranking wizard in the room.

Even though I just spoke politely like a normal old man next door the loud noise stopped.

    Quiet silence.

In it Clinton stroked his beard with an interested look on his face.

“It seems clear that what you just showed is Larsil but does that mean Mr. Ludger interpreted an ancient language that no one has been able to do before?”

    “You can treat me comfortably.”

“Heh heh. “I am comfortable with this.”

“If you say so I understand. And to answer your question a moment ago I would say yes. I completed the interpretation of Larsil and based on the information I found out the recipe for the magic suppressor and how to increase the amount of magic released.”

    Murmur.

Everyone’s eyes widened at Ludger’s shocking answer.

The issue related to the amount of magical power released was bigger than expected.

The news that an ancient language that no one had fully understood until now had been interpreted made the room heated up.

“If that’s true it’s an incredible discovery.”

“yes. So I will continue the explanation here.”

Even if his opponent was a 7th rank archmage Ludger did not show any fear or a condescending attitude.

Clinton drew a line with his eyes as if he was intrigued by the action.

Most wizards freeze when they encounter them and cannot even speak properly.

    It was a natural thing.

Among magicians hierarchy is a measure of power and a rank that measures the level of the opponent and oneself.

In particular his 7th rank Impera was one of the highest ranks on the current continent.

Anyone who encounters him can’t help but freeze and if anyone starts a conversation he becomes very sad.

    But Ludger was different.

‘Teacher of Seorn. ‘I heard he was a 4th rank wizard.’

In Ludger’s appearance although there was respect towards this side there was no fear at all.

As you get older you become more capable of seeing these things clearly.

Rather Clinton liked the way he spoke confidently without avoiding attention.

‘okay. That’s how wizards are supposed to be.’

You should not be intimidated by the fact that your opponent is higher in hierarchy than you but rather be prepared to move up.

That mindset is the most basic virtue a wizard must have.

And only such people could rise to this position.

“As those of you who know the existing Larsil language is an unknown script that has not been fully interpreted. There are many reasons why a complete interpretation cannot be made even though the shapes are complex and similar but the biggest reason is one. “We were fundamentally misunderstanding the language.”

I came out to announce the results of magical power output but before I knew it the conversation had turned to ancient language interpretation.

But none of the wizards in the crowd pointed out that part.

Unless you’re an idiot there’s no way you wouldn’t know that it’s related to that and the story coming out now is definitely a great discovery.

    Ludger continued his explanation.

An explanation given to observers and students on the first day of clinical research.

By showing more neatly organized data I was able to tell more people what I had said that day.

The Larsil language actually uses a total of 3 letters not just 1 letter.

It was even possible to completely decipher it by interpreting the remaining two characters.

“Huh. “Three letters in one language?”

“And since all three look so similar it would have been natural for them to not be able to tell them apart.”

“More than that how did that person find out?”

When everyone was puzzled someone again raised their hand to ask a question.

A man who could not sit at the head of the table but occupied the very front of the audience.

And it was a familiar face to Ludger as well.

    “I just have a question.”

    “yes. “Tell me.”

    Altego Dantes.

He was one of the elders of the Old Magic Tower and was an old man who had been insulted by Ludger at the celebration.

Altego huffed and cleared his throat.

Although it was only a moment Ludger did not miss the disturbing light in his gaze.

“That research data. “Are you sure you figured it out?”
